Today I came home to find the washing machine making a terrible noise. What follows is my diagnosis to a dryer ticking, clunking, pinging, tinging, banging noise. Good luck. - Навчання та стиль
You are so awesome. My dryer was making the exact same noise, and i was completely clueless. Im a DIY fanatic, i refuse to have wet clothes, so i came across your video, and you were my guardian angel. My dryer is back to normal. Thank you MR HANDY MAN.
Videos like yours have saved me hundreds of dollars. I’ve replaced parts on my Whirlpool washer and dryer. They’re 22 years old and still run like new.
Our dryer suddenly started clicking on every revolution of the drum today. This video came up first in the search results, and although we have a different make and model, it came apart the exact same way. We didn't find anything "hard" on the door seal, but we did find a bunch of lint build-up on the felt. We removed as much of the lint build-up as we could reach, put everything back together, and the dryer click was gone. Thanks!
You rock; had the exact same issue, followed the steps and was a piece of cake. Everyone thinks I'm a hero. You are the best of the best!
Your video actually helped me repair the very same dryer with the very same issue. Loose screw on felt lining. Appreciate the video my man!!
My dryer started making the exact same noise last night about 10pm. So after work today I googled dryer making clicking noise and found this video. Love your dogs, by the way...
My dryer is Maytag Bravo's, only about three years old.
I followed your instructions, and had exactly the same issue... A screw in the felt in the front of the drum. Including the time to find my socket set and the screw drivers, took about 15 minutes...
Thanks for the easy to follow instructions!
Imagine my surpise when I lifted the front of my dryer off and the EXACT same screw in the EXACT same spot was sticking out. Thanks for saving us money we desperately needed and also weirding out the family with a deja vu video!
Just fixed mine an hour ago. Same noise, same screw, same spot. I'm sure this saved me some $$
@@tracybobst4919 we are all in the matrix! 😂 take care and be safe!
You are amazing!!!!! I tried many videos and replaced the rollers. Then watched this and... a huge screw was in the front felt!!!!!!! Thank you thank you. You made my day and saved me from buying a new dryer.
This is exactly what my dryer has been sounding like for a week. I've been avoiding laundry in fears of snapping a belt before I have time to get a replacement. I'm going to pull it apart after work and see if this is the issue. With 5 kids, I'm hoping it's just a lego or coin! 😅 Thank you for this!
Thank you! This video was exactly what was wrong and saved us time and money in buying parts we didn’t need!! Much appreciated!!
FINALLY! I’ve been trying for months to figure out what is clicking in my dryer like that. I thought it was a loose wire or plastic cord housing the drum was hitting on each revolution. I’ve taken it apart like 5 times because the noise kept bothering me even though I couldn’t find the source. But thanks to your video I finally figured it out! Thank you
THANK YOU!!! Just fixed my dryer! Took a few minutes only. It was a small piece of plastic stuck in the same way as that screw was in your video above. I removed the piece of plastic, reassembled and no more noise. :)
Hey thank! We had a mangled paperclip stuck in our lip. Saved us the time/cost of having someone take a look at it!
Hello there! This was great a advise; I was almost close to calling out a tech but, because your video was so simple to follow, I was able to find the problem. It was a zipper clamp lodged in the back of the door! I heard it when it fell and was thrilled! Thank you so much for making a video that a child could follow. You are a God sent to help!
Quick video with results!!! A shirt button was stuck inside my dryer causing the sound. 😅 thanks for posting & saving laundry day & money!
Dude! I wish I had seen this before I took my whole dryer apart and replaced the drum rollers just to have the banging noise continue... found and watched your video... took the front off again and TOTALLY found a screw in the felt!!!! OMG! I'm both proud of myself for learning how to take my dryer apart and replace actual parts and frustrated that it was that simple and I really didn't have to buy extra parts [face palm]... granted, they probably needed to be replaced anyway and the kit wasn't that expensive - but still!!! Anyway, thank you so much - this video absolutely fixed my dryer!!
Thx brother I have the same dryer and last night it started making the same noise as yours...lucky I found you on UA-cam..followed your instructions and had the same thing happen 2 mine...thx again for your help you Rock!!
Very kind and generous for you to take the time and share your knowledge, thank you.
Perfect description and problem solved exactly as you described! Thank you!!
Thank bro...worked like a charm! Saved me $$$. Fixed in under 10 minutes...after the hour of me taking the back panel apart and shaking it like an angry ape 😂😂 called appliance repair and was like oh hell no. Great video.
THANK YOUUUU!!!! I fixed my dryer so easily with your tutorial.
This was awesome! Thank you so much. Got our dryer running nice and smooth....and now I know how to pull apart a dryer. 👍
Thank you for making this video. Your video saved me from having a very bad day.

Thanks Man! I fixed my dryer because of this video! 👍🏼
I'm pretty sure this was my issue. Almost ordered new rollers! Thank you!
Terrific demo on a problem that can be done by anlmost anyone. Thanks very much
You are a saint. I had the same damn sound and I didn't know what it could be until I saw your video. Just like you, it was a screw in the front of the drum. You saved me some serious bucks. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ps. cool dogs!
Wow took care of the same issue in less than 10 min ur a beast thank you!!
Solved my problem. Saved me money. Thank you kindly
Thanks so much! Fixed my issue. Screw in the same spot! Saved me some $$$!!!!
My man, that is our exact dryer and it made the same exact noise and when I opened it up I found a screw I the exact same place. You're great. You save me the money for the service call or for a new dryer. Well done. One question: Where did the screw come from?
My parents have the exact same dryer and making the exact same sound. I watched this video and fixed it for them! Thanx for the video!
Oh yeah, I subscribed as well
This was extremely helpful, thank you!!

Thanks I just happened to have the same washer, Awesome video fixed the issue.
Thank you for your video. You will never believe what I found inside my dryer first I took off the front like you did and we found lots of money. We thought maybe that was the problem $2.75 worth of coins then we turn the dryer back on and that was not the problem so we opened up the back and what we found was the top to the tide pods container flopping around inside the fan
Thanks for video. Dryer running smoothly now.
have the exact same dryer and was making this exact noise pull it apart and a screw fell out put back together all good thanks for the help!
Dude, same model, same problem, I love you.
Dude you just saved me a half hour!!! 4 min into your video, I got to my dryer, find out where the sound is coming from run a screw driver from the inside, knock the screw loose, problem solved without removing anything! Fk yeah!!!
Thank you!!You just saved me 100 bucks at least ,i did the screwdriver thing it took 2 times around on the doorside seal and knocked that screw out, working like normal again .

This is helpful, at least showing that it's pretty easy to crack it open and try to diagnose.
Brilliant! Done and done! Thank you so much
You're welcome!
This did the trick - thanks!!
Good call. Took mine apart and found a butt sleeve inside the rim... Along with 2 dollars and some washers. Thanks for the help.
Thanks you just saved me $100
Thanks for this!! I just saved $800. The culprit was a nail and about $2 in random change 😅. Being a female with zero mechanical experience, I was scared to take it apart and fully mess it up. But all is well now!
Very helpful!
I want to say thank you for the video had the same noise found a small rock that was making the noise
Thank you! We had the exact same problem, except it was my son's tooth which I guess he had left in his pants and then came out while drying! THANK YOU!
You nailed it same thing on mine. Thanks
Thank you!!!! This was our exact dryer and the exact issue! Took us 30 mins start to finish cleaning it and checking for objects which happened to be a screw in the exact same place! Wild! Thanks again! Saved us such a hassle! 🙌🏼
Just had the same issue with the same brand dryer. Pulled the cover off and found the exact same screw in the same spot. May be a common issue with this brand? Thanks for the video though! Definitely gave me a good idea of where to look!
Awesome fixed my problem a button was stuck in the liner
Excellent video. In my case it was a penny and not a screw. Thank you for the video.
two years later, i found your video again, and again i found a penny, thanks again!
Same here, same noise, same problem. Thanks! I’m wondering were the screw came from though, I looked around but didn’t see a screw missing from any part of the dryer. Perhaps my pockets since I’m the only one that would probably be carrying a screws.
I literally just fixed my dryer with this video....yesssssss
Good video and rant.
Thank you man
Thank you!!!
Great vid kid.
Noise started last night with ours. Took the front cover off and what do you know, a rock and a screw stuck where your screw was. Now its quiet again, thank you boss!
Thank you. I have a front loading dryer and it is sitting on top of my front loading washer in a tight space. The Kenmore dryer timer knob sounds like it has something rattling behind it. When I put my finger on the timer knob, I can feel rattling vibrations that feel like they are behind the knob. I’m not sure I can manage this since I don’t have anyone to help me and the space is very tight as the washer and dryer are in a tight closet.
Great, great, great help. You can actually fix this without taking anything apart. At least there is a chance you can. Suspecting the same problem, I just ran my finger around the inner rim and found a slightly sharp item jutting slightly out of the gap between the drum and the front frame. I couldn't tell what it was, I stuck my head in and used my phone camera and could see something. It was loose, and wiggled relatively freely and it felt like the tip of a screw.
It almost felt like I could just yank it out. I tried a few times and it moved around. I got some needle-nose pliers and it took a couple tries but it came out. It was the pocket zipper to some cheap sweatpants. What finally worked was that I pushed up on the drum, which made the gap bigger to allow removal with the needle-nose pliers. (The zipper was stuck at about the 10 or 11 o'clock position of the circle.)
I actually have been annoyed to have had things getting stuck in that gap for years. A drawstring here, a button there, a zipper this time. Usually they remain attached to the clothes. The dryer will then grab the garment and just wring it to death. I've ruined a few articles of clothing this way. If your dryer has this same problem, it may be worth it to put some painter's tape on anything small enough to get stuck there, or to put your clothes inside out before drying as prevention.
Thanks for your comment. Did the exact same thing no disassembly required!
Totally agree a person should just go for it and do the repair themselves. i found that the original belt pully is metal and its causing the belt to break faster than if it were a plastic wheel one. Im ordering one tonight. Why would it make a loud clunk in the beginning before it starts spinning?
Whirlpool dryer, same issue, safety pin hanging from the outer edge of the drum, right in the notch. Thanks!
THANK YOU!! My husband thinks I’m brilliant!!!! 😂❤🎉
My Kenmore dryer is making a very faint clicking noise and the heating element works but my clothes don't get completely dry in the same amount of time that they used to. Is there a fan or something that could be my problem besides something stuck in the seal? Thanks!
Thanks, it's harder to get it back together than taking it apart.
My man u just saved easter
My man! Cup of coffee at hand! Gotta whirlpool dryer that just started making a sort of grinding or clunking sound when i went to dry a load. If you have to replace the drum seals, should they both be replaced? How hard was it to remove the drum? Thanks, great video! Give your good dogs a treat!
Thank god for this video I had part of a pen stuck in mine
Great video. I'll even not complain about the cheesy disco music. : )
Please help! I have that exact same dryer. It had a very loud squeak. I replaced the rollers and the belt. Seems fine but there is a “thump-thump” now. I’ve checked and checked and idk what is causing it! It won’t do it if I hand turn it... just when it’s all out back together and I run it! Help!!! Thank you!
I don't have time to fix it rite now same prob same model . Can I run it and deal with the noise until I can get to it in a couple days?
thxs
Great video. May I ask how your back is? I recently had surgery and your post surgical videos were very helpful.
Doing great, three years in April. I’m considering doing a half Ironman just to show it can be done. I’ll also show my latest powerlifting meet in the same video, probably try to release it in July
Did you find put where the screw came loose from?
When you found that nail did you keep it out or were you supposed to put it back into something?
Your drum turns counter clockwise; I only heard the noise once when you turned the drum clockwise. ??Also, did you screw the screw back in or did you just leave it out? And also, you didn't explain what to do if you would've determined that the noise was coming from the back side of the drum. then what? I want to know before i start disassembling my dryer. I'm not exactly a dyi kinda guy. thanks
Where do we think the screw came from? What was it holding together?
I have the same dryer! Same noise! Hoping it's easy fix
Is it dangerous to just leave the screw there for the time being? I mean, besides making a lot of racket, can it cause other damage? Thanks
The belt was broke in different spots on mine, causing a ticking sound with each rotation.
Is there a trick to pulling plastic fuse connector apart?
My dryer has the exact same problem tanks for make this video
I have a mytag and its the same thing to opend tanks again
