I'll never forget the first time I heard this album. I loved all of the other albums from 'The Soft Bulletin' through 'The Terror' (excluding the Heady Fwends collaboration which I didn't have), but even though I'd owned 'Embryonic' for about a year, I'd never actually listened to it. How can I describe that first spin? It was like being shot by a howitzer, but instead of obliterating me, I experienced everything in four dimensions. I felt like I was seeing the universe from outside. That the Lips achieved this so far into their career is a testament to their greatness. This video is a superb companion piece to the album and I'm so grateful that you've preserved it.
wayne belongs to the golden generation of american musicians but he never stopped making great music , that's the point , he works hard and he loves what he does and this is the best thing we can say obt him . keep rockin' dude !

I love the freedom this band has. They can take you away to a castle in the sky or make you realize not everything is ok or as it seems to be.

This was a very interesting album it is my fave Flaming Lips album for sure but it literally was nuts nobody forgets the first time they hear this it’s 100% one of those

@@thesatellitehead why do you think he deleted all that stuff? and what happened to him anyway, seems like he retired or something. One specific thing i really want that unfortunately got deleted is the i wanna get high but i don’t want brain damage music video.

To me, it's a REALLY brilliant single album buried in a good double album with too much filler. There are very few double albums that I wouldn't say this about - Pink Floyd's The Wall, The Clash's London Calling, and Wilco's Being There are the only ones that come to mind right now.
Whats the first song they play? was it ever released? doesnt sound familiar but I like it
Make music like this again. Not so impressed with much post Embryonic.
They seemed to have become obsessed with slower songs. I prefer their rockers. Even their 3-disc Best of Collection focused too heavily on the slow stuff.

I wanted yoshimi part 3 (I feel like, in a way, at war with the mystics was part 2) so I wasn't ready for embryonic when it came out. Now, many years later, it's fucking awesome in it's own right. Now, many years later, I can clearly see they never fell off. Not once.
