Happy Friday my friends! Just wanted to let you know what I did on the other 2 days I tried this hack for those of you suggesting things that might help & let you know I did them already & while they did improve things a bit, it wasn't enough that it beat my normal setup for creasing & wear! I tried it with and without sunscreen and tried it with my NYX powder instead of the Maybelline powder, I also switched eyes. Sunscreen didn't seem to have any effect on it either way, using NYX powder definitely looked better than the Maybelline powder to start but by 4 hours the Aquaphor was making my concealer settle into my wrinkles and making it wear off. In the end my regular concealer setup was better! Here are links to my concealer videos for those who didn't have success with the Aquaphor hack: Easy Everyday Concealer: ua-cam.com/video/fZPaAQW3OtY/v-deo.html How To Stop Undereye Concealer Creasing: ua-cam.com/video/S-bhj_yh8qk/v-deo.html For those of you who wanted an update on my dog post surgery, she came through the surgery well and is healing up nicely! The first 2 days post-op were really rough but I gave her lots of pain killers & love! She started putting weight on the leg after a few days and is getting around well. She gets the stitches out & cone off today so we'll both be thrilled about that! She ruptured her CCL (equivalent of our ACL) about 6 weeks ago & had TPLO surgery to give her use of the leg back. Thanks so much for your well wishes & concern over the last 2 weeks! xo ~a.
Ohhh my little baby has had TPLO surgery on both back legs, so I completely understand what you are going through Angie. Good news is he has done very well now years later and it was well worth it (he's 14 now!). Your baby is lucky to have you caring for her. Thinking of you!
I did try it and noticed that while my under eye was more hydrated, wrinkles were exacerbated. However, I have applied Aquaphor under eyes and nasal folds at night, over my nighttime products for about 3 wks now, and the results in hydration and the way makeup looks on my skin is dramatically improved! I do not wash my face in the morning with cleanser, just use a warm wet cloth. I just cannot say enough about how using it at night has completely changed my daytime look
I went out and bought it also. Have been using it and old dear Lord hard telling what it ended up looking like because I never checked back😮. The sis without the aquaphor was noticeably better. Think I will use the aquaphor for my lips only. No waste there. Thanks for doing the experiment you brave heart.❤
Angie, I have been watching you ever since you started your channel. I especially had a great laugh when you used your husband as your makeup model. You are such a gift to us older ladies. You are the only influencer that I 100% trust. As a nurse married to a doctor; I appreciate your knowledge of the ingredients in the products you review. You're truly the best out there!
I'm so annoyed with personalities that post just to go viral. Scott may be a professional makeup artist but he's also trying to sell his branded makeup. Angie actually does the work to test things out!! Thank you!
Agree, I am glad Angie tested this out. I love Chantecaille eye cream with flower waxes in the formula. I'm looking for a dupe because of the high price. This may work on a runway model that's 14 years old, but it definitely accentuated Angie's under eye area as she noticed immediately.
Hello!! First of all, your tip about changing the resolution on the video is a game changer!! And giving that tip only proves that you're the most transparent creator ever to walk the earth! I had the lip balm already, I use it on my lips. I don't wear under eye concealer bcz I still have yet to find a method that works for me, and I'm okay with that. I personally think this is a perfect example of how certain products, application methods, etc do not work for everyone! I love your videos and appreciate the work you put into them ❤️
@@AngieHotandFlashy I wonder how it would perform if you were to apply a thinner layer and set everything with your Nyx powder. Maybe you can try that off camera and let us know later. Thank you for your videos. They are always so appreciated.
I agree! I had no idea about the resolution settings and have wondered why Angie has appeared blurry (but always believed her that she doesn’t use filters). So cool to know!
Hello from Belgium. Tried the hack 4 days in a row thinking that I must have been doing something incorrectly but had the exact results as you. I'm 55 with no crows' feet or deep lines and yet this technique REALLY made it look as though I had full-blown wrinkles! I even made sure to use a very light hand with all the products and I allowed the AQUAPHOR absorb for about 20 mins for 2 of my attempts. Thank you for being the ONLY genuinely honest content creator!
Hi Angie, I'm 70 and tried this hack. My first try it was about like yours. I was sure it was the power fountain for setting. I tried another time spreading the Aquiphor with a brush , and using my regular under eye powder to set. It worked fabulously. I'm thrilled.
I did the same!! I tried it will the powder foundation and it looked awful but when I tried it again with just my regular light powder it looked beautiful!!
The first time I tried this hack was also an epic fail. I found it was the powder making look so cakey and wrinkly. Using my regular setting powder worked sooo much better!!
Excellent video! Thank you so much, Angie. As a Nurse Practitioner in wound care, we avoid allergens, and most people develop allergies over time (ie latex). Aquaphor has lanolin, an allergen that may cause issues. The best bet is to use a compoundable formulation such as Vani cream if needing to try something not indicated for the under-eye area. Be careful of products not indicated for the eye area. Products not indicated or tested for the undereye area can cause infection, irritation, and cornea abrasions.
Yes!! I am highly allergic to lanolin and Aquaphor is pure lanolin. Makes my skin crazy! I use vanicream ointment for all things needed for wound care and lip balm! Love the stuff!!
Laura Geller powder foundation is the best I have found for mature skin. Blurs, color corrects, not cakey. I gave up liquid foundation completely a few years ago. Fiera cosmetics is the best under-eye concealer I have found for mature eyes. I mix a bit of this with the Elf poreless putty primer and then apply it under the eye and doing final blending with my fingers works best. Overall, I have found that when you have mature skin, less is more is the best way to go. I wear a lot less makeup in my 50's than I did in my 40's.
I agree re: Laura Geller. I had given up on wearing makeup because I can’t stand having a ton of makeup on and most of it looked terrible on me. When I tried the Laura Geller products and I was pleasantly surprised that it really works well on my mature skin.
I bought LG Baked N Brighten powder foundation and I like it. It’s the best I’ve ever used. But even it seems to still accentuate my wrinkles. I agree- I stopped foundation in my 50s after trying so many. I use self tanners in the summer instead. Now in my 60s, it’s worse but still I look best without foundation. Yes it evens skin tone but at a cost of accentuating wrinkles. I don’t see anyone (except this poster) older who looks better with their foundation. I tried primers- hate them. They feel like cement. I may try Fiera under eye concealer. But I don’t have darkening under my eyes. Just wrinkles. And I have started using coconut oil or Vaseline on my face at night and then tissuing the excess off. I think it’s helping.
For me it worked slightly better without the Maybelline powder too but still didn't look better than or last longer than my regular concealer set up...
Agree that it’s the powder foundation. But my skin is super dry with thin under eye skin and very dark under eye circles. Recently I was traveling and forgot the aquaphor and instead used my La neige lip mask (teeny tiny bit) and it worked even better than the aquaphor.
@@proximac7 I couldn’t get the Aquaphor in a stick and got the product in a little tube instead. Used a very small amount with different concealers, etc. For me it seemed to work better with no powder or just a very small amount of the Prism Libre.
About a year ago I started using a tiny, tiny amount of the regular Aquaphor ointment as a nighttime eye moisturizer. (I had forgotten my eye cream while traveling.) I continued use when I returned home, because it felt so good. I wasn’t even thinking about it helping wrinkles. A few months ago I noticed my eye wrinkles were dramatically improved! I am 59 years old, with normal skin. It’s a huge difference. I’ll never stop using it.
FINALLY a video not loving this hack. LOVE you Angie! NYC Makeup artist of 25+ years here and this didn’t work for me either. Makes everything look so much worse. I’ve found that Milani skin quench hydrating primer under the eyes is truly THE BEST under eye primer I have ever tried. Just a little dot under each eye on top of your favorite eye cream, under your concealer. Fantastic smooth results every time. ❤️
I am going to try that as well but I have to say the aquafor hack worked for me. I am never happy with concealer and powder so had given up applying any at all. I tried using aquafor and it made a HUGE difference. I can’t use powder at all as it instantly makes me look 20 years older but the aquafor and just concealer looked ok.
Another option is to mix the Milani skin quench primer (one dot) together with your concealer before applying, and I get great smooth coverage that way. Best combo ever!
I AGREE WITH YOU Angie- the Aquaphor side wrinkles DO appear larger and more prominent. Don't be bummed- you just don't need that hack or extra step. GOOD FOR YOU!😘
I tried this trick this past week on a mother of groom and I’ve never done mature makeup that looked so radiant and soft on the wrinkles. I did apply very small amount with a brush and sheer it out and set very lightly with powder.
I got the Aquafor lip balm only. I’ve been doing this for a few weeks now and it gives perfection! It isn’t that you won’t see a wrinkle when I smile, it’s that after 8 hours my under eyes look freshly done. I’m 70. I swipe the lip balm and pat it. I apply my Charlotte Tilbury concealer and pat that. Then my concealer with your cat’s paw brush. Last the Pat McGrath under eye powder. Perfection all day I kid you not! Fabulous! I’ll never go back.
I tried it without the powder, used my own setting powder and it worked awesome for me. Im 54 years old so happy. I trust Angie and Gabi they both are great! Faithful watcher here!
It was so great for me too Roxanne! Makeup is so interesting because it’s very variable per person and per product. What concealer did you use? Thanks for supporting both Angie and I.
I've been using the lip balm everyday for a couple weeks now. I already had the REVLON ColorStay powder in translucent and I don't use concealer but I do take my foundation up to my under eye area so I do the lip balm directly after my skincare and before foundation. I'm shocked at how great my under eyes look with this technique. Im 61 and wear glasses 100% of the time that have a very magnifying effect and this has been like magic.
Angie, you look like your in your 40s.. stunning whatever age..but just in awe of how your skin looks makeup free.. I was so systematic about my skincare for decades.. just sometimes life keeps on kicking you down, I gave up on myself. Thank you for inspiring me again. Time to self love/ self care again. So much gratitude. 🙏❤️✨️
I'm sorry you've been going through a rough patch, but happy to hear you're going to take some time for self care! I think it will help so much! xo ~a.
I have tried this last week. I thought it did make a difference when I first tried it. I am 67 years old. I think it was the Maybelline powder you used. I used the Patrick Starr pink powder ( O/S). I thought it was good. But who knows, everyone is different.😊💕🙋♀️🇨🇦
I just wanna say thank you for always trying the trends and letting us know the truth! You’ve not only saved me from fails but also saved me time & money! When someone recommends a new product I’m always like “well, I’m pretty happy with my skincare and I’ll wait until Angie tries it” 😅
Marketing has drilled into us to use a concealer under the eyes. Yet, it never stays and it always creases. I thought about it a long time when I realized…. you know what does stay? Eye shadow. It stays put, comes in dozens of colors that will match and highlight anyone’s skin tone, will layer without caking and is buildable. I haven’t had to buy a concealer in decades and I don’t miss it.
Just any powder shadow. And, no eyeshadow base needed either (that’s just more cream-something to gum it up and crease). Everyone has a fav eye shadow that works for them. If it sticks to your lids and doesn’t crease there, then it will work under eye. For everyday look, I just use a powder shadow in a MATTE color that matches my skin tone. Dab it on and done. For “fancier” days, I use that same everyday shadow first, then I might add a slightly lighter MATTE color to just the inner corners and just a tad under the outer corner. Then for night/going out, I use a SHIMMER shadow in yet a lighter color to just under the bottom lashes on the very inner corner (a lot like you do a pencil, but why bother with yet another pencil). No creasing and lasts all day! To start, try doing it with just a shade of your skin tone or a tad lighter. You can always enhance/do more later. Hope that helps!
I have done this type technique (except not using actual Aquaphor) with huge success. I use a really tiny amount of Lanolips ointment under my eyes, then apply my concealer over top of that. It always comes out perfect. I don't think it's so much the type "grease" product used but more the fact that the ender eye is really silky and moisturized with a product that doesn't immediately sink into the skin. When I saw the natural light closeup you could really see the heaviness of the powder used to set it. In any event, my technique is total win for my face.
Lanolips is fab and they now have a nighttime lip mask that’s great! It contains lanolin, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin C. It gives a little tingle and I wanted to try it because I have a few dark spots on my lips that are starting to lighten! Yea! 🎉
Hi Angie! I actually have been trying this for about 3 days, only under my eyes. I'm 63 with dry skin. I use it with the Pat McGrath under eye powder and Natasha Denona concealer (I really disliked the Lancome concealer). And this has been working really well for me! I'm sorry it didn't work out for you:(
Thanks for letting us know about changing the resolution on videos. Game changer and with all the UA-cam videos I watch not one creator has ever mentioned ruined that. Angie for the win.
I've been using Aquaphor under my makeup for 20 years. I would never do my concealer with out it. I don't use the balm though just Aquaphor from the tube and I would never use that powder foundation that he does. Maybe that's good for a red carpet event where they don't see you up close but I think that's where it went wrong for you. I love how Aquaphor makes my makeup glide on evenly and not cake in my wrinkles.
That's awesome. Haven't tried Aquaphor yet, but a thin layer of Vaseline under my makeup (and on top of my skincare) has the same effects you describe. Until first trying this a week ago, I pretty much avoided Vaseline like the plague, so the fact that this works is not only amazing to me, but also somewhat shocking. I'm 53.
OMG THANK YOU! I too went out and bought this Aquaphor lip balm, I am 63.....and the exact same thing happened to me! It was horrible. I too have combo skin. The Aquaphor made my wrinkles look worse!I also tried it on my eyelids because they are a bit wrinkled and crapey and it made them worse too! NO THANK YOU! Thank God I only paid $4.83 for it...and it wasnt very exspensive...it didnt work for me either ...bummer! Thanks Angie!
I tried it this week and my 65 year old eyes looked heavy and weighed down. But the lip balm is good on lips, so won’t go to waste. I think 20 years ago it would have been fine, but after 60 I have had to lessen the amount of stuff I put on my face to avoid looking tired and haggard.
I just love that you are transparent and I always feel that I can trust you, Angie. My skin type, undertone, etc., aren’t the same as yours, but this is still valuable info!
I tried this with the Aquaphor stick but I haven't picked up the Maybelline powder so I used my usual Laura Mercier powder and the same Lancome concealer. It did keep my concealer in place & I didn't notice any emphasis of wrinkles. Perhaps you could try again with different powder & see it that works better for you.
Angie- can you please remind us of what you use under your eyes for skincare (eye cream) without the aquaphor? Since whatever you are doing to moisturize seems better! Thx
Love love love this video Angie! I agree that the side without the aquaphor was way better on you. I have a feeling that it's actually the powder that made the concealer caky because it's such a dense formulation. I have super oily skin and I have been using that to set my T zone lately and it's been amazing. Oily skin + my age + density all work really well for me but definitely not for everyone. It's been so cool watching people try this out. It works 10/10 for some and 0/10 for others. That truly is the beauty of artistry. It's so variable and unique to the person. Sending a hug to you my friend!
Hi Gabi! The powder was definitely part of the problem, but in the end the aquaphor just didn't work for me even with other powders... I tried it again 2 more times with lighter setting powders & while it did look better than it did with the Maybelline powder, it still wasn't as good as my tried & true concealer set up. I'm thrilled that it worked for you and does work for so many others as well! xo ~a.
I wondered the same thing. I'm exactly Angie's age (one month apart) and have what I would call "normal" undereye wrinkles. I don't use botox, so mine might be a bit deeper (not hating on botox, wish I could afford it, but just saying that my wrinkles are 100% there!). I had a random chapstick that I used. I did not use the powder Scott recommended as I had just finally caved in and bought the small sized Givenchy powder. It was the absolute best thing for my undereyes that I have EVER done. I've tried everything and every concealer. We're all different with our skin and even the "shape" of our wrinkles, so I had tried so many products and tricks and still had creased undereyes. This was amazing. I used my Haus Labs concealer, which I LOVE...I will definitely be using this hack!!!
This just proves that sometimes less is more. Yes, I was one who bought the products immediately after I saw Scott's video. I will still try it, but have lowered my expectations since watching the highly trusted and honest Angie. ❤
I am so glad you tried this hack. I was skeptical with this combo for anyone with a few eye wrinkles. At best I see this working for a few minutes for a picture…. Not going about everyday life. Thanks again for trying this and sharing your honest opinion and results!
Absolutely the best review on this "hack"! And I think I saw almost all of them on UA-cam. Done really professionally and honestly. Very helpful. Thanks Angie! ❤
Angie, thanks for this great video! Everything is NOT going to work great. I appreciate that you always say "it didn't work for me". As someone watching you do have to consider the type of skin someone has compared to your own. I have undereye creasing issues with my concealer. I'm 51 with dry skin, and I'm always looking for things that can improve this. Nikki La Rose suggested using a hyaluronic acid serum for this. I have used the La Roche Posay Hyalu B5 hyaluronic acid serum for my face for a couple of years. I tried using it under my eyes (very small amount needed) as prep for my makeup, and it works great! Thank you for your great videos! You are honest, warm and friendly in how you present things. ❤
I have a similar product that I've seen all these 25-30 year old women raving about for similar usage (big in Korea, supposedly) but it has the same effect on me, accentuating my undereye and marionette lines, even without makeup! I actually get creasing like the skin is sticking to itself and freezing the wrinkles when I make an expression, not just causing makeup on top to settle into lines. I think the idea only works either on people with no wrinkles or with such heavy, caked on makeup that anything the skin is doing underneath can't be seen.
Thank you Angie for testing things for us. I don't use makeup very often, but when i do, i want it to look amazing. Not all tips suite for anyone. Aging is normal thing and i don't want even look as in my twenties. Aging is privalege not allowed to all❤
I bought the Makeup by Mario neutral palette a month ago, I haven't use anything else since. A few days I've added a single shimmer shade on my lid. I am very pleased with the palette. I think I will stick to Prism Libre powder under my eyes.
Hi Angie, I tried this with regular Aquaphor because I didn’t want to go by the balm and it worked beautifully. I am 67. I also used my holy grail IT loose powder. I can really notice a difference on the days I forget the Aquaphor.
I tried it with the CT airbrush powder & my nyx hd & failed with both. Desperately trying to fine something that works for my wedding, though I do t know why I’m worried…not sure anyone will be that up close 😂
Thank you Angie I had the two double pack of Aquaphor in my Amazon cart and now I don’t. I also heard of a hack for nose pores because they’ve been a problem for me since I start using Retin-A and cleaned out my pores anyway, she said after you get your foundation on, and you’re all done with everything, take a little bit more of your primer and put it on the end of your nose or the top around there and dab it gently with a finger or soft brush. It’s the best hack I’ve ever ever tried. Hope it helps you!
You're tutorial was SO Honest. I appreciated it more. Btw you look great even without make up. With make up brings out your natural beauty. Thank you you're a good teacher!
Oh Angie! I’m sorry it didn’t work for you, but I’m glad to find out that I am not the only one. I was like… what in the world happened to my under eyes? I didn’t think my wrinkles were that pronounced. Used it a couple of times, and then went without it and my under eyes went back to normal.
Hi Angie, I tried this hack but I used aquaphor ointment instead of the lip balm and it worked beautifully, I was very happy with the results. There was no creasing, it looks super hydrated smooth. I was really surprised. I'm 60 yes old.
Ur right side looks the best. I agree with u, the aquafor side makes the wrinkles more noticeable. Thanks for being honest about the results. Ur the BEST
At 60, my biggest under eye concern is crepey skin. No amount of eye cream or moisturizer helped the situation. The lip balm greatly improved the crepe factor, so for me it was a success.
Thank you for testing this, Angie. I have been wondering about it. For years it didn’t seem to matter what concealer or powder I used. I still had big problems that I was trying to “fix”. One day I decided to try color correcting stick and that Maybelline powder. AMAZING for me! So happy how much it has helped covering my dark circles and wrinkles 😊
You are a riot! Just had to laugh when you said am I seeing this right? You are seeing it right! Having watched you made up by professionals, outside of this video, I’ve come to the conclusion that you know your skin best and your products so well that you are your own best makeup artist. And thank you for your good research.
hi Angie, like always great video :) I'm 61 I don't have a whole creasing under eyes or wrinkles on my face, thank God!! I just tired this, it worked good for me. The only thing I did different was dusting my under eye and face with Wet & Wild Photo Focus Translucent powder. I don't care much for powder foundations, I'm a liquid foundation girl since I first started wearing make up at 19. Cover Girl foundations has always been my go to, right now I like Outlast All-Day 3- in-1
Thanks for giving this a try! I love Gabbi, but trying this on more mature skin is apples and oranges. (She is great at pointing that out as well) And the women in the “hack” video, while older, did have the look that she had had a lot of work done, so that may have been a factor too.
Scott also used "face lifting" tapes on the woman in the video so the skin was pulled to reduce wrinkles (he mentions it in the video but it's so brief I had to look up the product to see what it was)...
Thank you, Angie! I was getting ready to go buy the products. You’re the only UA-camr that I trust 100%. Thank you, as always, for your amazing content for mature women!
The hack worked well for me and I'm 60. I used Clinique even better makeup, Thrive buildable blur concealer and Anastasia translucent setting powder. Maybe it depends on what products you use over it? The Dior foundation Angie uses settles into my lines and makes me look older. I find mixing the concealer with the Aquaphor stick on my hand worked really well too.
Thanks for taking one for the team. I tried doing this with Aquaphor on one side of my face and Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturizing Swivel Stick on the other side. Interestingly, the Aquaphor worked much better than the Palmer's. So then I did a side by side like you did. Initially, my under eyes looked much better with the Aquaphor, as did my DEEP naso-labial folds and lip lines. But later in the day, it was like my under eye concealer over the Aquaphor had just slipped into all the wrong creases. However, my lip lines looked fantastic. My nasolabial folds looked somewhat better than without the Aquaphor, but not terribly noticeable. I think I'm going to continue playing with this technique to seen if making minor changes in the amount or tapping the Aquaphor into my skin more will help. Thanks for your review!
I have an Aquaphor lip balm since I use it on my lips. I didn't have the Maybelline powder foundation but I used a setting powder I had on hand. I did notice that the concealer didn't sit in my wrinkles. It didn't fade the wrinkles but nothing sat in them. I love your channel, thank you for all the work you do.
thanks for doing this Angie, i appreciate it. i've used aquaphor or vaseline when my concealer is super dried out, it's a remedy for an extremely bad condition only!
I tried aquaphor under my eyes at night during the winter for extra hydration-Thought it was amazing for a few days until I developed milia which I am not prone to otherwise.
Thanks so much for your honesty and transparency, Angie! We are the same age and I’m so over these “viral hacks” that don’t work on mature skin. I’m still loving my Lancôme Teinte Idole concealer as my holy grail. 👍🏼❤️🥰
I had the exact same experience....from the mascara smudging to the extra creasing. I tried it several more times with different concealers, powders and it never worked for me. So glad to know it was not just me!😅😘
You know how you JUST KNOW when something will not work (maybe on others but def not on me)? Yeah, that’s me when I saw this hack for the first time lol Thank you for trying it & sharing your experience with us.
Thank you for trying this out for us. I agreed, the Aquaphor extenuates your beauty lines. 😊. Logically it seems like it would make sense to use the extra moisture, but when I put extra moisture under my eyes, it causes them to crinkle, just in general. Thank you for being so brave for all of us. You have been my guide for many years. ❤
I am allergic to Aquaphor but I’ve been using Hourglass Equilibrium as under my eyes as a last step right before concealer and this has helped tremendously I’m 58 with fine lines and wrinkles and normal to dry skin
I've tried this before and it doesn't work for me. It made my wrinkles more pronounced and it gives me milia bumps. My skin can't handle heavy moisturizers. Maybelline powders and concealers used to work for me back when I was younger. They look terrible on me now that I'm in my mid forties.
There was a viral video a while ago doing this with vaseline and since I always have it around, I tried it. It made my under eye wrinkles look so much worse. I never fall for this anymore! You are one of my few trusted sources.
Thank you for doing the experiment!! I agree with your conclusion with one exception, I liked how the Aquafor side of your concealer was slightly lighter/brighter. I think it lights that side of your face up a little bit more. 💖
Yes, in a caption below one of the instagram posts, Scott Barnes wrote that it works best with cream concealer which I don't use so that could definitely make the difference!
I am 56 and it works for me! 😍Great hack.❤I use aquaphor under eyes and on lips after I apply my sunscreen all over my face but before I apply my L’Oreal true match tinted hyaluronic tinted serum. I don’t wear foundation and just lightly use face powder. My fav pressed powder is the “it cosmetics”. I live in San Diego so maybe different climate? 🤔
Thank you Angie! I think you’re the only person that mentions the harm from oils, petroleum, etc that causes milia. I watch several Influencers that often talk about how lovely facial oils are for your skin……I learned the hard way that the oils cause milia and to get rid of them you need to see a dermatologist and have them removed. Love your videos and your honesty! ❤️
Gaby is great, she really tries to help mature women it's what she likes to do. But she is NOT a mature woman, so she doesn't need to use the products herself. BIG difference, so Angie's experience with the products is more relevant to those of us who are more mature.
Hi Angie! I’ve been watching you for years! I tried this a couple of weeks ago and was floored! It worked AMAZINGLY for me! I’ve tried everything and always ended up with wrinkles. This actually worked wonders for me. So, I was anxious to see what you thought. Oh,well. It could be your skin I have super dry skin… and I use a very lightweight powder. 🤷🏻♀️
I've been doing it lightly for work since Tuesday this week. I wanted to give it a real shot. I've had the same result as you Angie. It's exaggerating all my wrinkles.

For those of you who wanted an update on my dog post surgery, she came through the surgery well and is healing up nicely! Thanks so much for your well wishes & concern over the last 2 weeks! xo ~a.
Wishing your baby a speedy recovery. ❤️🩹
Oh, poor girl! Wishing her a speedy recovery - I love seeing her on your videos, she looks like a sweetie.
Angie - so glad to hear things are going well! Getting the cone of shame off is always cause for celebration! Love to your furbaby!
As someone else who has an aging dog, best wishes!
That makes sense, it just seems like something that would need hours to absorb before you put makeup on it.
I’ve been doing that for years using Cerave ointment and doing the same thing in the morning. It’s great!
Thanks for the tip
I went out and bought it also. Have been using it and old dear Lord hard telling what it ended up looking like because I never checked back😮. The sis without the aquaphor was noticeably better. Think I will use the aquaphor for my lips only. No waste there. Thanks for doing the experiment you brave heart.❤
It's a great overnight moisturizer!
Thank you!
You would be right if the under eye concealer and the powder were his own brand, but neither was. Hard to “sell” “your” product if it isn’t yours.
@@Patriot1789 He'll probably get a commercial out of Aquaphor.
I love your videos and appreciate the work you put into them ❤️
Yay! I'm so happy the resolution "hack" helped you see what's going on!!
@@schnauzerlover1Toward the end of the video Angie already said she tried to set with the NY powder. Not better than her regular way of doing it.
I never knew about the resolution and I watch UA-cam on my TV so I was happy to adjust it!
Oh that’s helpful to know and might make this worth a try! Thanks for sharing!
I did the same!! I tried it will the powder foundation and it looked awful but when I tried it again with just my regular light powder it looked beautiful!!
I too was thinking the foundation powder was too heavy. Thank you for sharing your results with an alternative powder.🌸
I tried it with the Givenchy prism Libre and it worked fabulously for me and I'm 68.
The first time I tried this hack was also an epic fail. I found it was the powder making look so cakey and wrinkly. Using my regular setting powder worked sooo much better!!
I tried and happily shocked the first time by seing the huge difference. It's my holly grail hack from now on!. Thank you So Much Scott!!!!! ❤
Love Vani cream!
Thanks for pointing that out, regular Aquaphor gel does contain lanolin but the lip balm version does not.
I tried this hack with and without the Maybeline powder . In my opinion the issue is the powder. The balm on its own worked well for me.
For me it worked slightly better without the Maybelline powder too but still didn't look better than or last longer than my regular concealer set up...
Same for me. When I used my regular loose powder it looked beautiful. That heavy foundation powder makes it look awful.
Same, no powder only ointment and concealer and it worked beautifully! Stayed all day
About a year ago I started using a tiny, tiny amount of the regular Aquaphor ointment as a nighttime eye moisturizer.
I tried Aquaphor for two days for other reasons, and immediately had milia...no thanks... Tretinoin took one month to remove the milia.
Thanks for the recommendation. I am going to try this. 😊
Thanks for mentioning this. I love that primer but haven't used it under my eyes! Can't wait to try it
Another option is to mix the Milani skin quench primer (one dot) together with your concealer before applying, and I get great smooth coverage that way. Best combo ever!
Ma Juste Melani andrei mai a Stu What Fantastic
I AGREE WITH YOU Angie- the Aquaphor side wrinkles DO appear larger and more prominent. Don't be bummed- you just don't need that hack or extra step. GOOD FOR YOU!😘
I agree. The eye without the lip balm looks better. Thanks for trying this for us.
I agree your make up is beautiful the way that you already do it. Love your channel from U.K. 😊
Which is why we love you - you will try everything with honesty ❤
Agreed, not perfect, but better for me, less dry looking as the day goes on.
I also tried the Aquaphor under my eyes with my Prism Libre powder and it worked great!! I had no under eye wrinkles all day and I am 72 years old.
Who is gabi ?
I think it will help so much! xo ~a.
Immediately thought the hack side accentuated the wrinkles. This is why we love you Angie!!! You save us all time and money❤️
Me too!
I have super dry and thin undereye skin. Every single concealer is crazing, but I use vaselin all body balm now, and it completely changed the game.
Do you use it under makeup?
I have tried this last week. I thought it did make a difference when I first tried it. I am 67 years old. I think it was the Maybelline powder you used. I used the Patrick Starr pink powder ( O/S). I thought it was good. But who knows, everyone is different.😊💕🙋♀️🇨🇦
I just wanna say thank you for always trying the trends and letting us know the truth! You’ve not only saved me from fails but also saved me time & money! When someone recommends a new product I’m always like “well, I’m pretty happy with my skincare and I’ll wait until Angie tries it” 😅
It's my pleasure (even though I get bummed when things don't work on me)!!
Wow, that foundation powder looks so awful. I can't believe how much better your non aquaphor eye looks. Thanks for taking one for the team!
Please share which eyeshadow products you are using. Thanks!
Yes pls- cream or powder etc. this sounds like a great idea
Do share!
@@prita2586 I have been doing this, too!
I'm sorry it didn't work out for you:(
Awesome! So happy it worked for you!!
This hack worked great for me! It was a game changer! I didn't use the Maybeline powder, I used Elf HD powder. 😊
Thanks for letting us know about changing the resolution on videos. Game changer and with all the UA-cam videos I watch not one creator has ever mentioned ruined that. Angie for the win.
I don't think everyone realizes there are different play back resolutions, they probably assume that playback matches upload/filming resolution!
Angie, always bringing truth, not falling for ‘hot trends’ …. My gosh do we appreciate your authenticity Angie!!!!
I left the lip balm on for a few minutes to soak in before I put on my under eye concealer and it worked for me.
I'm happy it worked for you!
Angie, I am sooooo happy that your sweet fur baby is healing well. ☺️❤️.
Yes I've been this for awhile now and I use the tube one. I do it every time I wear makeup...
Same here. Made my eyes look heavy and off
I just love that you are transparent and I always feel that I can trust you, Angie.
I did that on one of the other 2 days and it did work better without the Maybelline powder but still caused more creasing & wore off faster...
@@AngieHotandFlashy Oh well, I guess it's just not for you...nothing earth shattering for me either but every little improvement is a win!
Angie- can you please remind us of what you use under your eyes for skincare (eye cream) without the aquaphor? Since whatever you are doing to moisturize seems better! Thx
❤
I am so glad I didn't waste my money to try this.
Same
Seriously! I just took the aquaphor stick out of my cart. Bummer
I did and it didn’t work for me either.
It’s only $4 and it works
It did not work for me either. And why do women who don't need concealer use concealer? 😂😂
Thanks for the honest review. I feel sorry for the people who spent money thinking this would do well and did not. Glad you're someone we can trust!
Once again thank you for taking one for the team Angie! Have not tried and won’t. I trust your honest assessment completely as always.
I am so glad you tried this hack. I was skeptical with this combo for anyone with a few eye wrinkles. At best I see this working for a few minutes for a picture…. Not going about everyday life. Thanks again for trying this and sharing your honest opinion and results!
Well thank you for taking one for the team. Saved me time and money.
Absolutely the best review on this "hack"! And I think I saw almost all of them on UA-cam. Done really professionally and honestly. Very helpful. Thanks Angie! ❤
Angie! Honestly, you don’t need to look better than you do- you’re gorgeous!
OMG! That palette is hands down the best eyeshadow I've ever used! I'm obsessed with it!
Hi Angie, I tried this with regular Aquaphor because I didn’t want to go by the balm and it worked beautifully. I am 67. I also used my holy grail IT loose powder. I can really notice a difference on the days I forget the Aquaphor.
I think it’s the powder. I tried the balm with Charlotte Tilbury powder and it worked.
I tried it with Halo powder and it worked for me. Agree it's probably that heavy Maybelline powder.
That’s exactly what I’m going to try before I go to work :)
Agree, the heavy powder was part of my fail but even trying it with different powders it wasn't as good as my regular concealer application.
I have used jojoba oil under my eyes which dries down like a wax and it works really well so this makes complete sense to me!
I love this hack! But I don't use the powder; too drying. Maybe try with your fave powder or none at all?
I would definitely try with your favorite powder in my opinion ❤
I did, and it was better but the balm still caused more settling & earlier wear -off of my concealer...
@@AngieHotandFlashy oh that stinks. Hack failed! lol 💚
I was shocked! I went into this so sure it would work!
hi Angie, like always great video :) I'm 61 I don't have a whole creasing under eyes or wrinkles on my face, thank God!!
I have been following this for a couple weeks but didn't want to buy into the hype until I heard from Angie!
😂😂😂. Angie that is a shock and funny. Didn't expect this either. You are such a sport ❤
Morning Angie
Oh my word I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen with my own eyes
Thanks for sharing see you soon ❤
I have an Aquaphor lip balm since I use it on my lips. I didn't have the Maybelline powder foundation but I used a setting powder I had on hand. I did notice that the concealer didn't sit in my wrinkles. It didn't fade the wrinkles but nothing sat in them. I love your channel, thank you for all the work you do.
I love the aquaphor under my concealor it looks amazing on me
thanks for doing this Angie, i appreciate it. i've used aquaphor or vaseline when my concealer is super dried out, it's a remedy for an extremely bad condition only!
I tried aquaphor under my eyes at night during the winter for extra hydration-Thought it was amazing for a few days until I developed milia which I am not prone to otherwise.
Yes, milia can develop from using heavy occlusive moisturizers & they take forever to get rid of!
Thanks so much for your honesty and transparency, Angie! We are the same age and I’m so over these “viral hacks” that don’t work on mature skin. I’m still loving my Lancôme Teinte Idole concealer as my holy grail. 👍🏼❤️🥰
LOL didn’t come here for tech advice… but lo and behold!!! Thanks Angie 🎉🎉
😁
This is why I LOVE YOU @hotandflashy, the honestly. No hype, no BS. Just your experience and opinion, no matter who much money they throw at you!
I would love a Growth Factor video sometime if you can☺️- I appreciate all your videos so much!
You know, maybe that works really well, hand-in-hand with the type of heavy full coverage foundation that he uses. Maybe that’s the difference!
Agree!
I immediately thought the same thing. Products used for movies & theatre etc. have to be LOT heavier.
Thank you for doing the experiment!! I agree with your conclusion with one exception, I liked how the Aquafor side of your concealer was slightly lighter/brighter. I think it lights that side of your face up a little bit more. 💖
Maybe it works with that super heavy runway makeup?
Yes, in a caption below one of the instagram posts, Scott Barnes wrote that it works best with cream concealer which I don't use so that could definitely make the difference!
I am 56 and it works for me! 😍Great hack.❤I use aquaphor under eyes and on lips after I apply my sunscreen all over my face but before I apply my L’Oreal true match tinted hyaluronic tinted serum. I don’t wear foundation and just lightly use face powder. My fav pressed powder is the “it cosmetics”. I live in San Diego so maybe different climate? 🤔
Not trying this. I think it will cause Milia.
Agree, I think I will do for special occasions but not daily. Extracting Malia around the eyes is a nightmare.
I was thinking the same🙂
Happy to hear your pup is doing better. I did buy Aquaphor stick and see no difference from my reg application. Thx for putting to the test
I tried this and it didn't make a difference
Sounds like JLO should give you a call!
😂😂
I've been doing it lightly for work since Tuesday this week. I wanted to give it a real shot. I've had the same result as you Angie. It's exaggerating all my wrinkles.
Seems like the tugging when applying the balm would not be good for any aged under eyes
I wasn't a fan of the tugging...
Angie, You are spot on with your observations, your method is better. I appreciate your honest presentations and value your opinions.
