I have been using the Elf foundation for about a month now. I was so impressed by it. I’m 66 years old with texture, a few deep lines and large pores. I’ve used expensive and drugstore foundations and so far this one has worked very well for me especially with the setting powder. For the price it’s a definite winner.
I'm 52 and have been using and loving Tir Tir for two months. Watching your application, I think you applied too much. I watched the Robert Welsh tutorial featuring Tir Tir before purchase, and I'm glad I did. He demonstrated how to get into nooks and crannies too. ❤

Angie I’m so glad you really show your skin up close and how foundations behave on it. My skin is like yours with oily zones and texture plus some drier areas and the Tir Tir is how a lot of foundations behave on me. Thanks Angie for being real.
I’m 44 y/o, do not have 20 y/o skin, and I love the TirTir. I also have combo skin. For me, using just a very little bit at a time, and spreading it around a wider area makes all the difference. Mine lasts all day, I just touch up my t-zone mid day with a little powder and I’m good to go. I live in Southern California where it is also hot. The TirTir definitely works great for some and not for others.
Same for me, but I'm 55 with dry skin. I think the trick with TirTir is using a much smaller amount than you think you should. I also swipe the applicator around my nose instead of patting and it seems to work fine. It's so weird to me that it works amazingly for some people and terribly for others.
I actually love the Tirtir foundation! It's easy to use too much and even the Chanel counter ladies asked what I was wearing! Love, love it! I think application takes a bit of practice! I'm 57yo with lines, pores, etc. - I've had good luck with it!
I am 56 and have tried so many foundations and nothing comes close to TirTir when applied correctly. I absolutely LOVE it and hope I can always find it. Covers amazingly well for being such a thin coat. Also the absolute best color match for me.
I’m 54 with plenty of wrinkles, large pores and texture and I love the TirTir Foundation. But it does take some trial and error. I always use primer (Hourglass Vanish) which I think really helps. And instead of using the sponge that it comes with, I use the BK 106 brush and pounce it on areas that I want more coverage and buff it out in places that I don’t need the coverage. I think I got that recommendation from Nikki La Rose. That application makes it look much less cakey and much more natural. And after using the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish setting powder, it lasts forever. I also only invested in a mini version which made it easier to bite the bullet and try it because I was worried about shade match. I got lucky and got the right shade on the first try. But I only use the TirTir for special occasions because I prefer a light to medium coverage product for everyday.
I use a brush also and get a much motor natural look. I’m 64 with share of wrinkles and have had long wear with out settling. I really like this foundation. I also like the mini for my purse but I haven’t had to use it much
Agree, almost impossible to find a foundation that doesn’t looks awful & feel yukky on my face. I really appreciate your honesty, Angie. Can’t imagine all the $ you’re saved me. Thanks!
Thanks Angie! I've tried the elf and found it to be exactly as you described. At 65 yo I don't wear foundation often, but this is the one I've reached for whenever I do. For me it beats much more expensive foundations and I found a color that's perfect for summer. I will definitely pick up another shade for fall as my coloring changes. I've been tempted to try the Tirtir and am now so glad I didn't! Thanks for helping this retired gal's wallet!!

I'm 58 and love TirTir! I did not like it at first but realized a little goes a long way so I only tapped it once in the product and then add more as needed. If you apply heavy it does not look good. it stays all day and looks great on. I use 24N Latte as well. It covers so well.
I love how you always show your beautiful skin up close for reviews. I felt the same way about the TirTir! It looked HORRIBLE on my face. Crazy, cakey, looked makeup-ey. I tried it at least 5 different times and every single time it looked ridiculous! LOL
I am a senior who has slight rosacea and pores. Require full coverage. I really like Tirtir and so was amazed at how flawless my face looked. Granted I only wear makeup less than 8 hours/day. I have applied slight amt translucent set powder on top to set certain areas. For me it was a win.
The Tirtir definitely required a lot of trial and error practice for me to be able to wear it, which included it only working with one primer over all others I tried for all the botching reasons you experienced, Angie. It also required a specific application: dabbing with the cushion, then a THOROUGH blending with a brush. I liked the finish, but just way too much work, honestly. I'll stick with my L'oreal nude serum, TYVM! Thanks for the great content, Angie, this 57-year-old face appreciates your perspective so very much!
Your videos are spot on for mature women and I almost always agree with you. I tried a mini version of the TirTir and HATED, so mystified that it is so popular. I am testing the Elf and not bad but I have to say the Lisa Eldrige skin tint and her regular foundation are the winners for me. Thank you, your the best!
I did get "convinced" to buy the TirTir. Tried it 3 times with all the tips. It looked good from a distance - because of full coverage. Highlighted my pores and hot caught in texture and wrinkles. Handing off to my niece.
I found that the Elf compares in shade (light neutral) and wear to my Cle de Peau (020) Radiant Fluid Matte. I add just a tad of moisturizer to the Elf and they look and wear the same. I got this tip from The Pampered Wolf and her mother! Thanks Jan!
It's wild how the same product reacts differently on different people. The Tirtir is a freaking DREAM for me. I use a LOT less than Angie did and I've found that it performs best with nothing underneath it (no primer or anything else). But again, that's just on MY skin. Your mileage may vary.
At 55 the Tir Tir looks like everything that I don't want in a foundation. Settling, pores, texture, and just an overall aging effect I'm trying to avoid. I've been very tempted to buy this, so thank you for this review!
Love the shots in the bright sun, thanks for that. I didn't get on the Tir Tir train thanks to Jen Phelps, however it's so helpful to see face products on someone my own age, so thanks again Angie. Have you dermaplaned your facial skin in the past and don't anymore, or have you not tried it? I've been doing this every 2 weeks or so for a while and noticed that foundations that I merely like look even better.
I agree with you on the Tir Tir. I’m 55 and have the same skin issues as you, combo skin and large pools. Every time I ware it I can’t wait to wash it off! I’m definitely go to try the elf one next. Thank you for the honest reviews.
I'm with you. I'm 61 and the Tir Tir enhanced every bad thing about my skin and was crushed when it didn't work! It really drove home how time & age affects skin. It makes me feel a bit better when you, with better skin than me, still couldn't get it to work. Haven't tried the elf foundation yet only because I've been wearing a powder foundation for the past few years due to oily skin woes. Excellent review as usual!!
I love the Elf foundation too! I'm 68 and it is so hard to find drug store make up that looks good and does not settle inti wrinkles. Surprising how good it works 💕
Although I’m over so over the TirTir foundation reviews, I am happy to see that you reviewed it and what your thoughts on it were. I do rely on your opinion and that of a few other influencers I watch for honest reviews. Thanks for your thorough and honest review 🙂
Thank you so much for doing this review. I purchased the Tirtir foundation and hated it when using the sponge it comes with. Then I prepped my skin with a light moisturizer and used a very small amount on my BK beauty foundation brush. It looked great and really did last all day. I am 65 with lots texture and dryness. Just shows you that no matter how wonderful a product may be for some people it may not work for everyone. I love ELF products so can’t wait to try the new foundation. Thank you for this review Angie
The ELF looked really nice on you. I've been eyeing it but was waiting to see if you did a review. So glad you did & now I think I'm ready to try it out! Thank you Angie!
So appreciate how you always "give it to us straight," Angie! I'm 68 and after seeing all the TirTir hype, I thought I might give it a try. Thank you for saving me the time and money!
Have been using the Tir Tir for a couple months now. As soon as I saw you apply it I knew you were going to have problems with it. I did the same thing used way too much. After watching some other videos I saw that you have to just use a very minimal amount, works like a charm. Goes on great on my textured, dry 60-Year-old skin loves it.
Thank you for being brave to be genuine Angie. I’m progressively unsubscribing channels where the filters used make my poor eyes struggle to focus. Enough already with the deception. You’re gorgeous, and of all channels, I trust your opinion because I believe you speak with truth. Keep going!🙌🧡
Thanks so much for this Angie! I'm 62 also and have wondered about the Tir Tir foundation. I absolutely love the Elf foundation! It's beautiful! I love the price too! Wondered try on and video!❤😊
Absolutely love the Tir Tir, I use a dense brush and it comes out perfect every time. I have pores on my nose and I just tap, tap with my brush and they're gone.
Doggie shots!! 🐶💜🐾 I love the new e.l.f. foundation because it’s so easy apply and it looks great on my skin. When I’m in a hurry, I can add another thin layer under my eyes and it takes the place of the Lancôme concealer. Thanks for testing the TirTir foundation so that we don’t need to! 😁
I’ve been really enjoying the e.l.f. Soft Glam. I’m 60, with combination/dry skin (my driest areas are around the eyes and mouth, and I can get *slightly* oily on the forehead, otherwise, “normal”). I got a good shade match on my first try with shade 14 - Fair/Cool. It’s my new everyday foundation (and second favorite overall, after the NARS Sheer Glow). So happy with it! iI’m glad it got the Angie Seal of Approval!❤
Angie, I used the TIRTIR Mask Fit Tone Up Essence Tinted Moisturizer underneath the foundation and it applied much smoother. I also applied it in small amounts. For the sides of my nose, I bend the sponge in half to get into those deep areas. I add a light finishing powder and then used a setting spray to finish it off. Like another user, it does take trial and error. Thank you for all your wonderful reviews!
I’m almost 64/yrs old, normal skin with fine lines. I’ve had great results from TirTir, but I use a beauty sponge, sometimes dry or damp. It looks more skin like and def not makeupy. I also used it with the Haruharu sun screen. I’m a fan. I got 2 more on sale a few months ago.
Thanks for such a thorough report on the two foundations. I’ve been wanting to try the Elf foundation on my 78 year old skin & now I will, based on your recommendation. Thanks so much Angie.
thank you for such a thorough comparison. Would you be willing to do a video just like this for the best drugstore fountain? I am a couple months shy of 60 and found your analysis so useful. Thank you again!
I've been wanting to try the ELF foundation for a while and after this video I'm sold. I have melasma and probably should wear a full coverage but prefer the feel of a medium coverage foundation.
Thanks Angie! Super helpful as usual. I bought the Tir Tir foundation a couple of months ago, and had the same experience with it as you did. Just ordered the Elf foundation on amazon a couple of days ago, I am excited to try it!
I'm 58 and for the TirTir but I use a regular sponge with it and I love it. I did not like the little pad or using a brush to apply it. I also love the Elf one too
I have seen a lot of people say this. They apply it either a regular beauty sponge and it looked better. I bought the ELF at the beginning of summer so I might try the TirTir when I am ready to buy a new foundation
@@Aimee-Gates I have dry skin with an oily t zone and I don't even powder anymore except around my nose. The elf is really good too I feel like it's more coverage than the TirTir
Excellent video thank you Angie . I can always trust you to give it like it is. I tried both and the elf is by far superior. The tir tir couldn't get a color match and then it was like a mask on my face and felt bad. The elf gives me a Dewey beautiful glow and looks great on camera again, thank you so much for being trusted resource!
Angie I have been watching your channel for years and I absolutely love your videos!! You do such a thorough job at testing products that I have purchased most of my favorite products because of you. I am definitely going to try this foundation. At the age of 59 I struggle with many of the same skin issues. Unfortunately your holy grail foundation doesn’t work well with my skin but I keep trying your suggestions. And I do like some of your other foundations recommendations. Thank you again for all your hard work.
This was a nice review! I really like your thorough reviews, especially of drugstore makeup. I’ve really been liking drugstore makeup lately - it seems less and less necessary to spend a lot on makeup to get a good quality product.
I am 53 and I had the same experience with the TirTir. It shows every pore and texture. Today was the first day that I wore it, so I am going to try one more time with applying less of it like some of the comments said. I LOVE the ELF Soft Glam Foundation. I apply it with my fingers. I tried it with a brush but I have found with my fingers works better for me. I LOVED this foundation from the first time I wore it.
I'm 65. I am constantly getting compliments on my skin when I wear TIR TIR. I don't notice the fragrance. I find it very easy to travel with. Everyone has different issues with their skin. The sponge it comes with is not my favorite applicator and it does take some work to get into tight corners like around the nose. Once powdered, it does what I like out of a foundation. It provides a great base for the rest of my makeup. Haven't tried the Elf Soft Glam yet.
@@nelliepisani4348 I have pretty normal skin. Not usually dry. I find I need to powder the TIR TIR (but then I powder all foundations) . I can't say I recommend it for dry skin, but that doesn't mean it couldn't work for you. Sorry, I know that sounds a little vague...
Excellent video. Thank you for taking the hit for us...again! I tried the TirTir and ended up having to take it off immediately. Tried the Elf, and I like it.
We’re the same age. I absolutely love the Tir Tir foundation. For me, skin prep was key. Robert Welsh has a great video on how to apply the foundation using the pad to get the best results. I followed his tips and had no issues. I didn’t find that there was a fragrance at all. The Elf looked way too shiny and greasy and I have combo/oily skin. Tir Tir is also the first foundation I haven’t had to mix two foundations to get a match. As a POC, Elf has never completely been a shade match for me, has always looked cakey, and has sometimes caused breakouts. To say that the only makeup not formulated specifically for melanated skin (i.e., Fashion Fair, Fenty, Black Radiance) that is a K-makeup brand has a shade I can wear is a big thing. Bye-Bye, Elf!
Angie you are the only influencer I watch that sticks to the same morning and evening routine for the most part and of course your skin looks fabulous! Do you ever wonder about other products like dna repair or growth factors etc etc ? There so many products out there. I try not to get sucked in and buy everything I see but it’s hard.
I really let the research guide my skincare purchases and currently there really isn't any study showing growth factors/dna repair products actually work when used on actual human skin (as opposed to skin cells in a petri dish or mice)... for me they're just too expensive for me to be the guinnea pig...
I've been using the Elf Soft Glam Satin Foundation since it came out and really like it. Most of the time I just use tinted sunscreen because I don't like the look of makeup. The Elf one doesn't look like you have tons of makeup on which is great but it doesn't cover my imperfections totally. I'm 69 and have hyperpigmentation especially on my forehead. I don't have redness or enlarged pores but sunspots from years of sun. You are very very lucky to have perfect skin and your skin is perfect.
Thanks Angie! This ELF foundation has been on my feed like crazy for a while now. After watching you here I just clicked your Amazon and got it. I guess our skin tone is similar bc got the same shade too. 😅 I do really like some of ELF products and their prices are SO good. Have a great Labor Day weekend. God Bless America!!❤😊
I purchased the TriTri and I love it! I have watched a couple of videos and the most important thing is not to apply to much. I live in South Texas and it is humid! I love this especially if I am in a hurry because it is quick. I have a liquid bronzer and have no problem with application. I do apply a small bit of powder and use a setting spray. I am 82 and I am very satisfied. If I had purchased the Elk first I probably would have stuck with it. Thanks for the testing as I always like to see how different ones work.
Looking extra beautiful today! Your skin & make-up looks FLAWLESS!! I'm also 62 and I actually am waiting for a package now containing TiTir, so I will try it out and see how it does on my skin. Wish me LUCK!!
Thanks so much for this, i used to wear loreal infallible foundation, the glowy one rather than the matte one and it has been looking cakey lately because my skin has changed. I will give the elf one a shot.
I am so grateful for your honest reviews on “older, less than perfect skin”. I tried both of these products and didn’t like either of them on my 57 year old skin. I used multiple sunscreens as well and the result was the same. I think both of these products are better suited for younger skin. 😢
Hi Angie, I really appreciate all of the testing you do for us! Looks like the Elf foundation is the clear winner and even did great in hot weather outside 👍🌺
Even though my comment isn’t related to your video, so I don’t know if anyone cares, but I just wanted to thank you Angie for continuing to recommend Timeless Skincare. After all this time, I finally purchased several products during their last anniversary sale at 50% off and I really like them! Starting to see some nice results and I’m getting acclimated to the vitamin C. I used to hate the smell, but somehow I’m beginning to like it! I think because I’m seeing good results! Thanks again for all you do! ❤

I really love this new elf foundation. I have quite dry skin and don’t even have to set it.
Love your reviews. I’ve been very pleased with elf products so far. I appreciate it your honest and thorough reviews.
Wow. The Elf foundation looked beautiful💕😊
I love the new e.l.f. foundation because it’s so easy apply and it looks great on my skin.
Thank you for honest review. I really appreciate it with these viral products that come with so much hype.
Will have to try the Elf foundation! For me nothing beats my Dior foundation. Thanks Angie for the foundation trials!
I absolutely love my Dior foundation!
Thank you for a real review on the tirtir for mature skin. I’d be interested in trying the Elf.
Same experience with TirTir. Wanted to love it but not for me. Thank you for your thorough reviews Angie!!
You are so welcome!
I haven't tried the tir tir one, but i love the elf soft glam. Its very skinlike,it kind of remind me of the dior airflash, which i looooved.
Angie is my make-up Angel! Thank you Angie.
Angie, would love to know which setting sprays that you like most. Thank you!
This was a nice review! I really like your thorough reviews, especially of drugstore makeup. I’ve really been liking drugstore makeup lately - it seems less and less necessary to spend a lot on makeup to get a good quality product.
So happy for your honest reviews. I agree it was too makeupie. I bought into the hype and was doing
I too am 62. Great experience with elf and for aging skin I prefer the silver TirTir
I have tried the elf and love it I'm 65 as well I would like to use the TIR Tir but I have dry skin is it good for dry skin? Thank you
@@nelliepisani4348 I have pretty normal skin. Not usually dry. I find I need to powder the TIR TIR (but then I powder all foundations) . I can't say I recommend it for dry skin, but that doesn't mean it couldn't work for you. Sorry, I know that sounds a little vague...
Really like how you show great close ups. Reliable review. Thank you. 😊
I have used many brands of makeup and I always go back to Elf. I'm definitely going to try the Soft Glam
I too tried the tir tir and loved it. I'm 53 and really love how it looks. I can't say anything about the elf though.
Elf foundation looks gorgeous
Thanks so much for this, i used to wear loreal infallible foundation, the glowy one rather than the matte one and it has been looking cakey lately because my skin has changed. I will give the elf one a shot.
I am so grateful for your honest reviews on “older, less than perfect skin”. I tried both of these products and didn’t like either of them on my 57 year old skin. I used multiple sunscreens as well and the result was the same. I think both of these products are better suited for younger skin. 😢
Thanks for this. I was going to try the Tir Tir. But that cakey mask was enough for me.
Thank you again for saving me some money! I was also tempted to try the Tir Tir but won’t bother now. Thanks, Angie!
Hi Angie, I really appreciate all of the testing you do for us! Looks like the Elf foundation is the clear winner and even did great in hot weather outside 👍🌺
Yes! I really loved the Elf! Even in the heat & humidity!
I use a very tiny amount of the Tir Tir foundation and it goes a long way. And it looks great. I think that’s the key, at least for me.
I have the very same feelings about the TirTir foundation. I threw mine away. I’ll now try the Elf foundation. Thanks Angie!
You are my go-to Angie. I follow all your friends and enjoy them too but when I want a thorough, honest review, I always go to you and have been for many years. Keep up the great work, Angie, please! Thank you!
You're the best!
Can I second that?! She is always so honest, and that is a real trustworthy trait. Thank you, Angie. You're my go-to, also.
I just knew you would love the ELF foundation. I have been using it now for a month or so and I think it's amazing on my 78 yo skin.
Loved this comparison, I have heard a lot about both of these but I trust you the most! Have a great weekend! 🍁🍂
Thanks! You too!
My mature skin really likes the elf, been using it this summer and it should really be good in the cooler weather.
Will definitely be trying the Elf! Thanks for the review!! 💜
I use both but the Elf is my preferred one. It’s my go to foundation for everyday.
Thanks for saving me from purchasing the Tir Tir. I bought the Elf and did really like it. I got the 20 Light Cool. It proved to be an excellent match for me.
Angie I tried the Tirtir and I agree with everything that you said. I was disappointed in it. I will always stick to elf. Thanks for doing this
