Scott Barnes' recent video on how he uses Aquaphor lip balm under the eyes before concealer to prevent a cakey look and creasing after a long day is going viral on social media! Most of the creatures demonstrating this technique are under 30, so I thought I'd try to be the first 50+ year old to give it a go!! Please let me know your results if you try it!!!

Hello viewers! Please keep in mind this hack is something Scott uses for long photoshoots. Some people might find that if they do this daily, small bumps(milia) could appear. Therefore, I would suggest only doing this a couple times per week or for special occasions. I do have other videos on my channel demonstrating concealer tips and tricks for daily use. Thank you for watching! ❤
Thanks Risa
Wow looks flawless tfs! ❤ 😊
Girl you are so REAL for not using the blur filters everyone else uses. Thank you for showing us how beautiful you are with your natural skin and how to slay this hack. Can’t wait to try. 🥹
No thanks. Tried it and it was very uncomfortable. Didn’t like it. I get the same results with what I’ve already been using. It’s a nice concept just not for my eyes or face.
Thank you tho!❤
Agreed!
I have been using Aquaphor under eyes and lips for at least 3 years! Found this out by myself. Never shared it, but it truly works. The secret is to use just a little bit, spread it thinly, and 5 min. later, put on the concealer (patting gently, not spreading it with a brush). In the past, I used vaseline, very lightly under concealer, on dry days... or bad morning. I also have a few tricks I have figured out for concealing dark spots perfectly, waterproof! I am an oil painter, and my approch is the same as on canvas. Look at makeup like a painter.
Interesting!
Me too.😊
I've been using the elf color corrector under my eyes before foundation and concealer. It has a very grease like consistency. I was never sure what to think of that but now thst I saylw this video it makes sense... I'm going to pay closer attention to it now and perhaps use it arpund my mouth and see what happens
Oh please share how you cover dark spots. Thank you
Same.
I have never used aquaphor, but my undereyes were so dry a couple of years ago, that I picked up my Nivea lip balm and thought if it is good on my lips, let's give it a go under my eyes. I have used either it or my chapstick ever since. I've never seen anyone else do it before, and I never told anyone because the hate and negativity out there is real. So excited when I see something like this. Makes me feel like my almost 60 yr old self is not so clueless.
Both my babies were born with severely dry skin and I only used Aqauphor on their faces and they had the most beautiful smooth skin. It also worked well when they had diaper rashes. And today my 20 year old son still uses it on his face. 😊
Never thought to try chapstick. I’m nervous about the Aqua phone stick. It makes my lips so red and cracked but the ointment tube is amazing on my lips. I have added a touch of eye cream to my concealer and it no longer looks dry and holds up.
Ive been using wax pencil
.and in my lip lines..softens them
What a great tip!!! Thank you for sharing!❤
I've been using my Treat Beauty lip balm under my eyes for years, too, because it has caffeine (de-puffs a bit) in the Mint & Matcha flavor - and is great for my mature, dry undereye skin. I will now try this before concealer!
In the 90’s “underpainting” was done by Kevin Aucoin. I feel Kevin originated highlighting and contouring. I have his books, Making Faces and Face Forward. Published in 1997 and 2001.
100%. I wasn’t there, obviously 😊, but from everything I’ve seen/heard/read it was Kevyn Aucoin.
I think you are correct I have his early books. I would even say victoria principle showed this in her mid 80s book. It's likely been even a Hollywood film makeup trick before that. You'd probably have to go to max factor!
Film and photo MUAs used contouring and highlighting since the media were invented. Before that, contouring and highlighting were used extensively on stage. Obviously, it didn’t start with Kevin Aucoin, but he did popularize it again.
Absolutely Kevyn Aucoin. Also, JLo’s original makeup artist.
Kevin Aucoin also took a lot from makeup artist Way Bandy in the 70s. I have Way's 2 books and you can see where Kevin learned his techniques.
OMG! I’ve used the Aquaphor stick 2 days in a row and my under eye concealer is perfect. After 8 hours (then I had to go to bed). What the heck! It also works around the corners of my mouth where I have those dynamic movements. And I’m 70!
Finally an influencer that doesn't use tons of filters! You are stunning and honest.❤🎉
Thank you!! I don’t see the point of using filters on makeup videos, I too find it very disingenuous.
Risa is the best. I've been watching her for years!
Lol ! I have been using aquaphor in so many ways for a few years ,love it‼️‼️‼️‼️
@@avagreene3624 😂😂😂😂 so you think that if till now she have used filters, she would be so "stupid" to blow up "everything" with an unfiltered video? Keep in mind that many socials put a basic, light and un-removeable filter by default to make people more likeable to the audience and make them keep watching contents... Then there are the optional ones that a youtuber decide to use or not.... In this case you can clearly see all the features of the face like everybody in real Life has.
@@avagreene3624I have never EVER used a filter on a UA-cam video.
Omg you have beautiful under eyes!! You don’t even need concealer
Genius! I'm 59 and I used it this morning and I have just checked - 7 hours later and it still looks great! Thank you Risa!
I'm 70 yr. old. I have some "Ultra" Chapstick and tried this hack. This is the first time that I've ever been able to use concealer, under my eyes, without it looking dried and cakey. I'm rather amazed and will continue to use it! Thanks for sharing this tip! Btw, there's a UA-cam video, from "Natural Health Resources," that shows her using castor oil to remove milia within 3 days.
Glad you mentioned this because I got milia when I tried the vaseline hack at night under my eyes. Even with insurance it cost $50 for each milia to be removed by my dermatologist. She said to wait 6 to 9 months first to see if they go away on their own and two have disappeared and two others are starting to get smaller.
I’m 59. I’ve been doing this technique since I was 45. Started with a small amount of chapstick. Has always worked great.
Yep, when my under eyes felt dry and uncomfortable I've been using Chapstick or similar for years and years
This is so interesting! A few months ago I started using organic Badger Baby Balm in the exact areas where you placed the Acquaphor. It is an olive oil, castor oil and beeswax based formula. I'm 75, and this has kept my skin in these areas smooth. No cream works the way this does.
thanks for the tip!
And the fact that it has Calendula added also, makes it even better..
@@iamginaj and chamomile
Thank u for this tip❤
Thanks so much, that sounds like it would be a lot better for our skin.
I need to see this on someone with darkness and texture under their eyes.
The purpose of it it’s for fine line or to not get cakey. Not for under eyes darkness
I agree. Especially for texture and lines.
@@syvonnie15I thought that was the point of concealer under the eyes. Darkness. No ?
Me too
@@LLove-th4juYou're right, good point! I use concealer mostly for dark spots. I'm a woman of color and I have olive/yellow undertones. But using concealer for lines is a secondary use for sure! This hack is supposed to hold it in place, so I guess that means to hold it in place for both uses. But good point! 🎉
Risa, I recently found you on You Tube. I LOVE how authentic and helpful you are. You have a natural beauty that is breathtaking. It's time for ALL of us to embrace the season of life we're in. Your beauty tips are timeless and will help us all maintain for years to come.
What a lovely comment! Thank you so much! ❤️😊
When you said you were 50 my jaw dropped!!! I said to my husband how old do you think she is and he said 37 years old:) I'm 55 yrs. old and you look like my daughters age :) Your Stunning!!!!!!!!!!
I thought she was about 50.

I was thinking the same thing, I thought i misheard, I am 55 and I just want to say, your skin looks absolutely 💯 beautiful, you look just gorgeous 😍🤩. I have just found you and so happy that I did, I have subscribed to see more of your videos ❤️❤️
Yeah but how much work has she had done 😮at least show us the hack on someone that has wrinkles to begin with.
@@tanmaree1290 her face doesn’t move much while talking, that pretty much tells you right there
I've been using Aquaphor under my eyes for about 14 years. But I got that info from reading about a makeup artist that was quoted in a magazine, back around 2010.. So not totally new.. but glad Scott is bringing it back.
Same, I think was Allure magazine. I’ve used several products but the Vaseline stick is my current fav.
Does it help with dark circles
Omgggg Im 50 yrs tried it had it on for 13 hours beautiful no creases anywhere I tried the stick and the balm both work the same 🥰
Could you share brands you used?
Wayne Goss Makeup Artist Extraordinaire also shared a similar hack using vaseline over your eye cream, its called Slugging. Ive used CeraVe healing ointment which also contains Petrolatum which is the main ingredient in Aquaphor over my eye cream ever since i saw Waynes video and yes it does work xxx
Marilyn Monroe did it, applying Vaseline all over her face under her foundation, so yeah…
Sadly Vaseline or anything supper emollient doesn’t work for me. It makes my concealer slide right off. I’m happy to hear it works for you though! 😃
@@RisaDoesMakeup I've not used vaseline with concealer but used the CeraVe petrolatum over my eye cream at night, it helps the cream absorb better then washed it off the next day. Im in the UK, CeraVe contains petrolatum same as the Aquaphor. It is really thick like vaseline though so might not work with concealer. I think Aquaphor is available on Amazon xxx
I use it too (in winter) but in summer I use a light cover of any eye night cream - this works!
Love love LOVE Wayne Goss❤
So this is AMAZING! I’m in my 50’s. Sun damage from my youth! But I used the immediate relief tube. Couldn’t find the stick one anywhere! I highly recommend this hack! I’m blown away! I will definitely comment, after working all day!
I just saw this on Tik Tok🤯🤯🤯 I don’t wear concealer b/c it doesn’t matter how I prep my under eyes I look like I have alligator skin after I use concealer. Can’t wait to try!
Same!
Same! I hate it!
Hi Risa, I am 64 and a makeup lover. What I do after my concealer and powder on my under eyes, I put a tiny bit of cetaphil on my fingertips and press under my eyes to not make it look so dry, just a tip that I do that I thought I would share but would like to try the aquafor under my concealer as well
Does the Cetaphil cause any breakdown of the makeup? I am 54 and have very dry skin. I love a matte look, but powder under my eyes makes the skin look even more dry than it already is. The Cetaphil suggestion sounds like it might fix that!! 😍
Thank you for the tip!!!
I recently have been using a little of this La Roche Posay cicaplast balm under my eyes and it's been a lifesaver! And because it's white it's very brightening
Careful with the LRP cicaplast balm cause it is not meant for under eye use (it says so on their webpage). I used it on my undereyes before and they got very irritated and red. Maybe yours are not as sensitive and will not react, but putting this information out there for all the sensitive eyes girlies like me.
I am also going to give this a go… I have super dry skin, age 45, and have fine lines. I am hopeful this will work, but I am also extremely fearful that this is going to give me milia underneath my eyes which I’m already prone to developing and currently struggling with. I’ll post another comment with an update after trying this for two weeks.
Thanks for posting this video! It’s super helpful to see an actual real person and someone my age with similar skin try this and I hope we both achieve success with this new hack.
Oh that is a really good point about the milia! I look forward to hearing your update.
@@nataliemarshall7158 what is milia?
I had no idea this was a thing that someone was doing professionally. I started adding a smear of Aquaphor from a tiny tube several years ago. I was trying all kinds of concealers to find what would not show all of my fine lines. Nothing looked good. They all made them look more noticeable. I was having a lot of trouble with allergy eyes, and I added a little smear of Aquaphor under my eyes at night to help with my dry eyes and rubbing. I liked it and decided to add a little before I put on my foundation. After applying my foundation with a damp sponge, I decided that my under eyes looked fine with the little bit of foundation that made it under my eyes. I don’t apply foundation to my under eyes directly, but a little ends up there as I pat on my foundation. I skipped concealer all together. I decided that’s the best my under eyes have looked in a long time. Now it’s a part of my daily makeup routine.
Hi
Wanted to know does the application of Aquaphor under eyes at night help with your dry eyes. I use eye drops for dry eyes and sometimes the eye mask. Let me know. Thanks.
I think you’ll find Kevin Aucoin was the first MUA to introduce under painting & he details it in his book. Drag Queens have pioneered many of the tricks & tips we use today decades ago to. Setting spray & baking came about as they needed to find a way to keep their stage makeup on under the hot lights.
Yes. Barnes didn’t invent anything.
Drag queens and beauty pageant girls were using hairspray as a setting powder going back to the 50’s
YES we need an update on how it has been going! I saw this hack from him the other day!
I learned under painting in cosmetology school. I graduated in 1988 and I’m licensed in 5 states. Also Kevin Acoin did it
Hi 👋, yes I can attest to this also. I obtained my international training etc back in the early 80's & this kind of thing was secretly done by the best. I know this lady is claiming Scott as the first. However he isn't.
Over 50!!! Wow you look amazing! I’m 53 and don’t wear concealer anymore due to fear of it setting in any lines! Your eyes are stunning! I need to appreciate myself more! Go girl!
Tried this today after buying a stick and it works! I even used a concealer that always creases on me to test. Thank you Risa!
Yes please show on your momma. I’m 69 and always enjoy your momma videos. Also, I will give this a try and let you know.
I am a former MUA from years ago. I enjoy your videos because I know that you know your stuff. I have never seen this lip balm hack before. I have seen using Vicks Vapor Rub stick under the eyes, but not as a concealer hack. Under painting has been around for many years. I first saw it in the 80s. I loved the idea because 80s makeup had such harsh lines and under painting allowed for a dramatic look, but without the paint by numbers effect. My makeup mentor said she first saw the under painting technique in the 30s.
Interesting they under painted in the 30’s! Wow! Vicks vapor rub? I’m so sensitive I don’t think I could use that😂. I’m gonna try to sub the aquaphor for alastin’s skin regenerating nectar. It has pretty much the same consistency. I bet u have a ton of tips😊
I have literally been doing this with Paula’s Choice lip and body balm for the past 15-20 years. This is an ooooold trick and I’ve told so many people about it. Some thought it was nuts, everyone who tried it has been doing it ever since.
If i had your under eyes I would never touch concealer really! you’re belssed with the smoothest brightest under eyes
I sometimes use the Tatcha serum stick in a similar way but I think Aquaphor would be a good thing to try because it looks like a great consistency and probably wouldn't budge or wear off. The Tatcha is great but it's a bit oilier. I mostly is it at night because of this ❤. Thanks for sharing this with us! Regardless of who originated it, I appreciate the way you demonstrated it.
I saw this on UA-cam years ago. I tried it with a few different concealers and it didn’t work for me but my favourite concealers are already super hydrating. I found it didn’t last as long this way and didn’t sit as smooth. I feel like this might be great with drier concealers.
I totally agree . I have a friend that swears by this hack but her skin is super dry AND her everyday foundation and concealers are very drying as well
Hey 👋🏼 I had to jump back on here and thank you for sharing this hack! Just tried this, this morning and it’s fantastic for my dry under eyes, complete game changer. Thank you ❤
Love you showing us studio & natural light ! Please do more of that and thanks !
Risa, I just had to tell you that you have the most beautiful blue eyes!! They are piercing and absolutely stunning🤩 . Love your videos and being over 50 I can’t wait to try the Aquaphor!
Best concealer hands down is maybelline Age Rewind. I have very thin skin and the blood vessells show through creatingvery dark circles. Im 54 and have some texture. This stuff stays put. It will settle into fine lines once after applying but a quick pat and it levels out and stays put .
Hi Risa, how funny I saw this hack with Scott Barnes and ordered my Aquaphor yesterday.
LOL. Same I saw SB’s post on Instagram yesterday and ordered the Aquaphor immediately. Glad to see another women over 40 trying this hack though.
I must try this!!! My skin has majorly has changed over the past 9 months. It's drier and the fine lines and undereye creases are terrible when using concealer. I've tried so many products and hacks!! 😐 Thank you for sharing this! Another hack to try! 😄
I've always put my concealer under my foundation. I like the name "underpainting"! I just like that method better. You're skin is gorgeous ❤
I’ve been doing this with the Kjær Weis The Beautiful Eye Balm. I tried it after Nikol Johnson recommended it a few years ago…it definitely works! Love your content Risa ❤
Since I never wear foundation nor concealer I clicked on your video for entertainment purposes just bc it's you 😁 To be honest I couldn't care less about concealers do I can't comment on the hack 😂 I "only" love blushes, eyeshadows, mascaras and lipsticks 💄 💋
HOWEVER... I wanted to comment on your eye look bc I absolutely looove that green on your lids 😍 My favourite kind of green!! What is it?! Loved also your nails, natural, simple yet very elegant. I loved the light too, it looks natural and it gives a good idea of what your skin and your makeup really look like 👏🏻 Have a nice week Risa 😊
You have flawless undereyes😮 i legit thought that that you were already wearing concealer at first. You have such beautiful, luminous eyes!
Just pulled Aquaphor out of my purse!!!! I’ll try this tomorrow 😊
Thank you for not using filters! So many videos with filters create unrealistic expectations
I have used Clinique’s lip balm under my eye for eye hollows and then concealer and very camouflaged hollows to almost disappearing.
Aquafor, or even a bit of Vaseline, mixed with setting spray & concealer works too! You put the Aquaphor on first then you put setting spray and concealer on the brush and put that on, followed by a little bit more setting spray on the brush. It is great! Then you mix a little bit of liquid highlighter with your moisturizer? You got the glow look everywhere!!
I have always used a product from PUR that is like a moisturizing balm. I have dry undereyes and it makes it so smooth. I worry they stop making it. I will try this!
I used that for years and then switched to Tula. They make them too. I also saw that, I think, its Wet N Wild has a balm stick now as well.
@@desertdaydreams4743 Thanks!
Love this! I also use Aquaphor around my eyes and it really helps with the lines. Another hack of a product I learned from you, Risa, is the Catrice under eye brightener! Then concealer! Works really nicely as well bcz the Catrice under eye brightener is so emollient !
I love the Catrice under eye brightener!
Most definitely give us an update. I wonder if this will hold up under a hot and humid climate? ❤
Since I live in Vegas I can confirm it holds up in heat, but we don’t have much humidity here. I’d assume since he said it holds up under photo shoot lights all day long, it should hold up under humidity as well.
Just btw, Treat Beauty makes a Matcha & Green Tea jumbo lip balm that contains caffeine, which helps with puffiness as well! I have been using it under my eyes for years before bed (or no-makeup days) but never just before applying concealer. Will try asap!
Risa, you are so sweet and genuine. Thanks for sharing this technique with us! 😊
I've got a dozen Aquaphor lip treatment tubes laying around so of course I tried this under eye method immediately. And just as immediately Ive got milia! Its a no-go for me.
my problem with aquaphor or any of these types of products on my face is it seems to trigger milia for me.
How do you get rid of milia?
@@hellokitty777able I had to have mine removed by a dermatologist. Sort of ouchie!
@@hellokitty777able dermatologist
Same for me.
@@hellokitty777able I use a little bit of numbing spray (Gigi numbing spray for waxing) on a qtip and then use a needle to pierce the skin and squeeze the milia out. Be very careful of course near your eyes.
I always have used the underpainting technique.but have never used aquaphor,I will definitely pick some up tomm.
I think that Scott Barnes is a truth artist. He aculy if I remember correctly was a art painter . So he knows how to use light and he knows diffrent technics . I like the looks he comes up with and I gave some of his products. This technic is almost like you make your concealer kind like serum concealer but not as moist. Serum conealers never cease on me and I don't have to powder. I will try this tomorrow since I watched the video late. Risa you gave us homework and we must do it 😉
I am 57 and just started this technique and love it. No creasing at all.
Evening Risa
Love Scott Barnes it is a fantastic makeup Artist
I watched him do Tati makeup & it looked amazing
Will definitely have a go thanks for sharing see you soon ❤
Im a wound care nurse and recommend Aquaphor for patients with super dry skin on their legs. Now I dont know about the balm, but Aquaphor is basically Vaseline, which is often used to remove makeup.
When i think of celebrity makeup artists, I think of makeup used under huge lights for photo shoots, etc. I'll take any help I can get. So we'll see😊
Thanks for sharing this.
I appreciate you being here for us !
I ordered the aquaphor.
I tried this concealer hack with tatcha serum stick and it works !
So can’t wait to hear about the results and how you found them on oily skin ❤ thank you so much ❤❤
I use the Aquaphor ointment as a face primer and also dab a bit under the eyes before applying my concealer and it works like a charm! It hydrates. smooths out fine line/wrinkles and it keeps my entire makeup in place all day long. I especially love how it smooths out the laugh lines. I will have to try out the lip balm form to see if there is any difference but the ointment also works wonders! ❤
Underpainting was actually the way makeup was always originally done back in the hay day. It has no name… it was just, the way.
That's what I learned in the early 90s.
That’s what I learned in the 70’s…it was the only way to apply makeup
Being a teen in the 80’s concealer was always put on underneath foundation. I learned most of my makeup application from my mother and some from magazines. My mother’s mother didn’t ever wear a dot of makeup so I can’t say where my mother learnt to do her makeup. All that to say that at least down here in Oz underpainting was just the way it was done. When I started watching UA-cam videos I was confused as to why everyone was putting concealer on top of their foundation 😂😂
Marilyn Monroe and Vaseline ?
Always did concealer (we called it cover up or cover stick back then) underneath foundation in the 60s & 70s. I only recently noticed it being done the other way around.
Your eyes look stunning! I would love to know what the green color on your lid is. I love that shade, but I’ve not been able to find anything I like enough to buy/keep.
I too have oily/textured skin, and I’m 53, so I look forward to watching your other videos.
Beautiful job!
I know SB made Jlo look incredible on America's got talent or whatever. Why on earth would she not stay with him? Definitely trying the Aquaphor!❤❤ Ty hun!Looks great!
I did try this hack and I love it! I bought the lip balm and the other wider stick. I used the lip balm under my eye .
So excited to try this!
Scott Barnes approved? I'm in! I just hope it doesn't make me break out.
I've loved this trick for so long and was so excited they have spf lip balm now too!!! I switched to using that one the first time I saw it in store. Sunscreen and smoothing!
So you’re supposed to do it with no skin care on under your eyes? Or can you put the Aquaphor over your skin care and sunscreen?
I’m thinking you would still do your normal skincare routine and sunscreen and use this product as part of your makeup routine..Maybe 🤷🏻♀️
@@-nellie-m3711 yes me too. Thank you ♥️♥️♥️
Tried this! Absolutely works like nothing else! Thank you, Risa! I’m shook!
Yay!!!!! 😃
Been using Aquaphor since I had my first child 8 yrs ago. The hospital & pediatrician sent several travel size tubes of it home. On dry skin days I ran out of my usual product & said “if babies can use it then it has to be great for adults”🤣🤣. I wasn’t wrong tho🤷🏻♀️. The one tip is a LITTLE goes a loooooonnnngggg way! There are so many ways to use it!
Thank you, Risa for the tip. So glad that I am subscribed to your channel!
Over 50?! Wow, you look amazing!
WOW Risa!
I have been a sub for a few years; but took a year- ish off from beauty vids.
YOUR SKIN LOOKS AMAZING! I see such a noticeable difference in the texture, smoothness, and even tone, especially in the cheeks to jaw area. Now I have to go back and see what you’re using, whatever you’re doing it’s working impressively!
Happy Belated Birthday, Doll! ✨🎈
I read a lot of comments. I think people are getting confused.! Some people think that you used the Aquaphor one that reminds people of Vaseline it’s a very clear looking gel/cream. You used the lip balm stick . Which is almost like a chap stick feel, correct? Some people think you’ve been using the regular Aquaphor that is like Vaseline almost. So they say they’ve been doing it for years, but they have not used the stick .
Risa - this looks like a really cool hack, I need to try it. But, I am EXACTLY one year older than you and I use a tiny amount of Revolution Line Fix Under Eye Primer Rehab. I really think you should try it. It keeps my under eyes from creasing. The trick is to pick up a little amount and warm it between your fingers and then apply it to your under eyes.
I wish my undereyes looked like yours before I did my makeup!
I already do this with my burts bees sticks because I'm so wrinkly under my eyes. It really helps hydrate and smooth. On easier makeup days, I use any color lipstick on my lips, cheeks, and eye lids because I'm so hooded and have trouble, especially on warmer days, with smudgling, but not with the lipstick. It gives me color over my foundation, and it's easy and pretty. Good job, guys! 🎉
IDK, she no dark circles at all, if anything she has white circles, why does she need a concealer in the first place? And she has no lines wrinkles whatsoever. So it doesn’t mean much 🤷♀️
I always start my under eye routine with the stick version of Palmers coconut balm. Works great!
I had never used Aquaphor before my tattoo artist here in Vegas recommended it for protecting new tattoos. Since then, I’ve used it for heels, elbows, tattoos, etc. This lip balm hack is a game changer!! I’m a massage therapist, and today, I worked, had a spicy lunch AND laid out in the sun for a while. Under eye makeup never gave way, no creases, no sliding off!! Thank you!!!! (Btw- I’m 52 with combination skin 😊)
I use the Aquaphor cream for my hands during the winter months. I have the Neutrogena lip balm which I might try. My concern, which Scott allayed, was the concealer breaking up. So I'm excited to try it.
I have very dry skin. I cannot wait to try this! What a great hack and video
Loved the video and will be getting the Aquaphor tomorrow!

I started doing this 2-3 years ago but with the Tatcha serum stick. I hadn’t considered doing this with a chapstick type of product! My skin does not do well with the lanolin in any aquaphor products but I am curious about using plain Chapstick. I can say that I’m fairly susceptible to milia & the Tatcha serum stick does not cause irritation or milia and I use it every day for this.
I tried this today, I love it! I am prone to milia so it’s not something I could do everyday! But, my makeup has lasted in the FL heat and sun! My under eye area still looks perfection after 4 hours! So far so good and I can tell this will stay looking nice for much longer! I combined my normal skincare, Obagi Matte sunscreen, the aquaphor, Charlotte Tilberry concealer, Huda Beauty pink powder, MAC studio fix fluid foundation. Thanks for sharing!!
Yes!! I've been using chapstick under my eyes intuitively. Never had shared that cause thought it was weird. Usually use burts bee but have used others. Also use a cocobutter cheaper one on my cuticles lol I also use sunscreen light lotion 😮 - no tears high quality or baby sunscreen Only specifically under and around eyes instead of face cream or eye cream. 50 yrs old. It works, barely have...never noticeable lines or dark circles.
I use regular Aquaphor Healing Ointment at night before bedtime on my lips and on my face after applying Vitamin C serum and moisturizer to seal everything in and to help protect my skin barrier. I didn’t even know that Aquaphor came in a lip balm form. I’m looking forward to giving this a try. I once read that Marilyn Monroe used to use Vaseline Petroleum Jelly on her skin before putting on her foundation and her skin and makeup always looked amazing.
After my skincare and moisturizer I used a lite petroleum followed my a silicone primer to seal it all in then added my foundation concealer etc. my skin felt amazing and dewy but flaky the whole day. I do remember him in the video using the stick on other parts of her face that could be dry or wrinkle prone. 💕💗
Did you not wear lower lash line mascara during this test, am I seeing this right? I'm wondering if it will cause my mascara to transfer.
I have been using SKINN Divine Elixer Luminous Eye Oil that I buy from QVC for at least 2 years. The oil soaks in rapidly and makes my concealer go on much easier and has helped tremendously with my dry under eyes. I will try the aquaphor to compare the two. Thank you.
I’ve been waiting for this for many years. I’ve tried applying eye cream before concealer and it never worked!! I’m confident that this technique will. Thanks for doing this video 😁
I have been using the cerave ointment for about 2 years for primer and it has literally made all the difference. Just don’t use too much and give it time to absorb before putting on foundation. It was a game changer.
Thank you, Risa! You are one of a kind in your field - i.e. THE BEST! Yes, please try this hack on your Mom for those of us that are older than you. Very interested in the results.
I've always used O'Keefe's unscented lip repair under my eyes when my eyelids are super dry. I use a dedicated one just for eyes and a separate one for lips. It's got beeswax, petrolatum, silicone, almond oil and shea butter and leaves a smooth barrier that makes concealer look so good!
You have the best under eye skin! Looks so good without concealer too. Whenever I put Vaseline under my eyes I get blurry vision from it. Hope I don’t get it if I try the aquaphor.
Please, please test it on your gorgeous mother. I use the MAC foundation and concealer combo you did last year for her and I love it! I haven’t tried the Aquafor hack yet, but I’m going to! Thanks Russ ❤
