what a great era to be a rebelious teenager lol life was good still is but i feel like our generation was lit even having limp bizkit its kinda cheesey now but cool its out there "dont give a fuck about me and my generation"
i'd trade in all my solo aaron lewis/country aaron lewis and staind concerts i've ever been to for this one show. PERFECT setlist. Was too young to go to shows back then lol
I saw them for the first time in 1998 they played every song off of Dysfunction plus a couple songs from their self released album "Tormented" from before they were signed. And it was in a small club with a little over a hundred people. Was amazing!
For all the praise Aaron gets and rightfully so, the man is a musical genius but Staind the band is actually a really fucking good band. They wrote really sick riffs, play super tight and just overall a really fucking good band. Aaron got lucky to have them as his band just as they got b lucky to find a singer of Aaron's caliber.
I love how Mike's guitar work has a sour feeling to it. Like early Wes Borland as well. They are so lost in the feeling that accuracy fades. I prefer it that way. Rock on.
I love how they walk off stage without saying anything at the end of the show...lol This crowd was weak AF, I only wish I'd been to such a "small" venue for Staind b4 they blew up to arena size. They played fucking perfect...every song sounded just like on their album. I always thought Staind was one of the better new metal bands to come out in the early 2000s. Wish Aaron would get off his country vibe, call up his 3 band mates and put out another Dysfunction album, but unfortunately that'll probably continue to be a pipe dream
SepulSolja I think Aaron was more pissed off about the sound and timing on that stage than the shitty crowd. If you listen, Mike's guitar at this show sounded like ever loving shit.
I pray that they'll get back together for a reboot and do local venues like this again! It's been 7 years since they've disbanded and went seperate music paths, IF KoRn can bring back Brian "Head" Welch and If Wes Borland can come back and play with Limp Bizkit and BOTH bands do world tours again then Staind can do it again! Just give it time people .. It'll happen 💪💯👏
Quick update on a Staind reunion : they do play the radio songs from time to time, Mike was talking about it at a radio station interview last Oct 2017, that he said he's READY, Sal is READY, and Jonny April is READY and just waiting on Aaron to give the green light 🤘
Umm....... What. The. Fuck.. is up with the guitar in this show? I've seen them live and it sounded great. Better than great, it was PERFECT. They all were... Mike's guitar is like fucking nails on a chalkboard here. Good God.
Setlist:
00:10 A Flat
05:17 Mudshovel
10:20 Spleen
15:35 Suffocate
19:36 Home
24:00 Crawl
28:47 Me
33:44 Just Go
39:00 Raw
RIP Jon Wysocki
there were definitely a lot of new staind fans after that night
Crazy to think he’s a country singer now. And he sings with a big country accent. Lol
Gotta love Suffocate, Spleen, Crawl, and Raw! Quite possibly the most heavy songs off the Dysfunction album!
And now he’s a country singer. Lol
@@nimitz1739 fr when people bring up Aaron Lewis I tell them I know this Aaron Lewis only
Saw them about 40 times in this era. The best!
Ur so lucky
40 times!? daaaamn
I remember getting their their first single tape back in 99 it had "Just Go" on it.
A Flat is totally "Helmet feel"...the snare, the time signature, the riffing...pure Helmet
What a record! 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Man Staind and System Of The Down were the shit at that year for me and Deftones... So Much more...

@@skaterat3322 Nothing wrong with that. Limp Bizkit was at their absolute peak in 99

george allen I saw them in front of 100 people ...in 98 .💜
I saw them at a jam packed bar in Huntington, WV April 2000. It was intense.
I saw them for the first time in 1998 they played every song off of Dysfunction plus a couple songs from their self released album "Tormented" from before they were signed. And it was in a small club with a little over a hundred people. Was amazing!
Just Go had only been on the radio for maybe a couple months too.
@@Jtitor177ive always wanted to see tormented live footage, do u remember what songs exactly?
What a set!
I saw them in 99 in Milwaukee. Met Aaron too. Was awesome
Saw that tour but in Arizona. So cool to see a band before they get huge.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for uploading this !
"Home" was the BEST song on their set list 👏👏👏
Home, best song they ever made.
My fave Staind track too
Agreed
Home and just go are the best from dysfunction
I love Johnny definitely one of my fav bass players cuz the song where he stands out he stands out, and his tone in this video is fire
This is definitely my favorite version of spleen too. Sounds so good
Mikes guitar sounds crazy in this too I love how abrasive it is
Mikes guitar sounds like a yelping dog on crawl 😂

Swear, mikes guitar playing is sick af and Johnnys bass is always on point too same with the drummer
What a treasure here! Wow this is raw. That crowd sucks too. I saw them the following year with KORN in AZ on the ISSUES tour and the pit was CRAZY.
I saw them in Chicago on the same tour. I think mindless self-indulgence (sp?) Opened the show. Staind and korn fucking killed it
thanks for this masterpiece
Amazing, thank you so much for uploading this. I may be (i am) obsessed with Staind and always trying to find new footage of Staind
me too
Me too, I always wanted hear a flat live. I really love how cbgb recorded all their footage plugged into the soundboard
I respect it even though it sounds like poopoo alot
I fucking LOVE Staind. I have always been.
Same

thank you soooo muuuuuch for sharing this!!!!
Fred Durst prophesized this in the track "Indigo Flow" on the "Three Dollar Bill, Ya'll$" album when he said:
"Staind a brand new drug for your vein."
That quote is on "Show me what you got" on the "Significant Other" album
Nope it was "Show me what you got" song
what a awesome show i seen him 6 times twice with staind every show was great...big thanks
Im ready for a reunion an a world tour...
its being fucking 20 years..

They kinda can't do another Dysfunction. Aaron's in a good place in life now, so that raw anger and bitterness is long gone.
@@ChairmanPaulieD you're wish has been granted , i been waiting a very long time myself.... just seen them at foxwoods..holy shit, they were fantsatic
27:09 thru 27:40 damn!
Aaron is the man

Wtf was that anyway
Yeah fuck that! Lol

I feel like Staind is better when they play in small places. The guitars are wimpy though.
Guitar mix...not ideal. Still cool, though!
Mike's tone is not good here
Like...what's goin on?? Sound like a Peavy 8"...
Fucking terrible.
@@eltrain8694 hahahaha, right?
Sound guy probably got the holy shit beat out of him after the show. Jesus! Never heard such a bad tone for poor Mike. The mixing is otherworldly bad.
there definitely on heroin
