Great job on this one Mike! It’s amazing how good the camera systems on both these devices are. The differences seem subtle but noticeable with the 4a producing the better looking image most of the time in my opinion.
Don't know how anyone can make a choice, both have amazing cameras! I think the 4a comes out on top more often but the difference is so slight it's basically negligible to me
In photos, they're mostly neck to neck. But when it comes to videos, the 4a seem to get better dynamic range. Impressive considering they didn't change the camera hardware at all.
I think I am still blessed with the pixel 3a eventhough there's a lot of new phones out there I still love the shots from my phone compared to others. Great videos, looking forward for a comparison with the 5a if it's already in the market.
As soon as I saw the reflection of water on the pavement and all the fallen leaves I was 99% sure of where I was looking at. I knew every bit of Wythenshawe Park. Lived over the road and spent nearly everyday in there from about 5 years of age to about 14 years old. Then when I left school I got a job in the park with the gardeners.lol. Strange how you can know something so very well that you can identify it just by how the autumnal rain reflects off the pavement and by the colour of the leaves on the floor. Then I saw the statue of old Cromwell (climbed that a few times. Lol) and I knew my memory was correct. My brother is now in charge of the park and all of the other parks in Manchester. I have not been near that park since about 1992 when I then moved abroad. Was brilliant to see it's beautiful autumn colours and waters again after all these years. Great coincidence. Oh and your comparison helped. Lol. You have brightened my heart with a simple, unknowing act. Many, many thanks to you both for the memories. Cheers. Dene.
Oh wow, glad we were able to bring back some memories! We frequently visit the park, especially looking forward to how it'll look again this spring. it's still a lively place, families, kids and dogs all about. We're still actually getting to know the ins and outs of the place (recently moved here) and it's a great place to hang out at in my opinion. Thanks for watching!
I'm thinking about picking up a 4a 5G. I am currently in love with Linux phones, however none of them have good enough cameras because I need a camera that can record Linux phones for my channel. I also want a phone that will get custom rom support, and I got the 5g version for a faster processor and 5g support in order to future proof it. I want my Pixel 4a 5g to be my last Android phone before I switch completely to a Linux OS.
I see! Well if you're after 5g connectivity then the 4a 5g should be a safe bet. I didn't wait to get it as personally I'm fine with what the base 4a offers. So I take it after the 4a 5g you're fully migrating to a linux phone?
@@TeamVRY I'm getting the 4a 5g because Linux phones are not ready for daily use yet because of bugs and missing features, but it is progressing super quickly, and I expect to see them ready in the next year, so I do plan on fully migrating to a Linux phone in the future, and than just keeping the 4a 5g around for the camera and in case I need an Android app.
Im happy with my pixel 3a and havent had any problem since I first bought it. If I were to upgrade my phone, I'd probably get pixel 4a or maybe 5 (though it has no headphone jack). Or I'll just wait for pixel 5a. I actually love the design and the texture of the back of pixel 4a and 5. Flagship or not, it doesnt really matter to me. Plus, I dont even play games on my phone. My biggest concern is the camera and pixel phones are the best.
Thanks Renz! the 3a takes good shots no doubt about it. it all boils down to how you prefer color warmth and temperature. however the 4a has the upper hand when it comes to video imo.
Need a case for your Pixel 4a? We tried out the dbrand Grip case + carbon fiber skin. Check it out here! ua-cam.com/video/ikD-W8z3eOI/v-deo.html
ahhh autumn 🍂 .. makes those pictures even nicer!
I agree, the colors are real handy for a camera test. 😁
Honestly I’m more impressed as to how good the Pixel 3a still is! Great comparison Mike 🔥
Thank you Saran! there's subtle differences but both are nevertheless good.
I mean... it's only been a year
Great camera for both devices.
I agree. salamat sir Emman!
@@TeamVRY welcome sir. Pero lang pa rin ung bago. Hehe 4a
Nice vid. Seeing this comparison makes me feel even more good for buying a pixel 3a over the 4a last month.
Great work.
thanks for watching! Yeah the 3a is a solid Android phone. I use mine a lot alongside the 4a.
huh
Great job on this one Mike! It’s amazing how good the camera systems on both these devices are. The differences seem subtle but noticeable with the 4a producing the better looking image most of the time in my opinion.
Thank you Adam! yeah, even with the video stabilization I lean more towards the 4a. and portrait shots.
Both are still great cameras to be honest. Can't go wrong with any of them.
definitely! I use the 3a as a backup camera a lot.
It's amazing how well the 3a holds up. You really can't go wrong with either camera depending on the budget
for sure. it's still a great device!
lovely intro Mike!
Thank you Alex. 😁👍
wow, this is a very thorough comparison! another brilliant video. Pixels nail cameras every time!
they are both really good! there are of course subtle differences in color temperature. I do tend to lean towards the 4a in outdoor shots!
Nice job, Mike! 🤙🏼
Thanks a lot Grant! humbly appreciated. 🙏🙏
Don't know how anyone can make a choice, both have amazing cameras! I think the 4a comes out on top more often but the difference is so slight it's basically negligible to me
Thanks Johannes! I guess to more discerning eyes the difference in specs will be a larger factor.
Pantera! Great video, thanks for doing this!
Thanks for watching! And yes, one of the greatest bands ever.
I prefer 4a because of the warm colors. Great video btw!!🔥🙂
Thank you GH! Yeah the warm colors have won me over haha.
The Pixel 3a still beat alot of 2020 budget smartphones in terms of the camera quality.
I agree! its camera is truly something else.
Well it did have a Pixel 3 camera, flagship camera in a budget phone.
budget xD 3a xl beat even s20 fe
Congrats on 1k
Hey, thanks man. 🙏
In photos, they're mostly neck to neck. But when it comes to videos, the 4a seem to get better dynamic range. Impressive considering they didn't change the camera hardware at all.
true, but I still think of the possibilities if they upgraded the sensor within.
I think I am still blessed with the pixel 3a eventhough there's a lot of new phones out there I still love the shots from my phone compared to others. Great videos, looking forward for a comparison with the 5a if it's already in the market.
thanks a lot for watching! the 3a camera can still hold its own tbh.
Massive improvements with video. Color and quality in general are way more realistic and not faded as much as the 3a.
Yeah, nice improvement overall imo.
Camera looks good!
it sure is! Thank you Patrick. 🔥🔥
Great video Mike! It was very concise and showed the strengths and weaknesses (if any) of both camera systems. Kudos!
appreciate it Johannes! they're not totally perfect cameras but do a good job nonetheless.
DOPEEEEEE 🔥 model wifey is in the house!
best model 4evr

Introooooooo 🔥🔥🔥. Damn Mike, you gotta teach me how to do this
it's the cameras man 😆
Well.. I've been thinking of 4a but this review make me gon stick to my 3a. The upgrade ain't that much. Thanks
thanks for watching!
Mike I see you on #teampixel soon.. Keep the good work
hopefully! thanks Audu. 🙏🙏
I think I like the slightly warmer color profile of the 4a more.
same here! it's not too cool compared to the 3a.
The Auto White Balance is slightly different on both, seems warmer on the 4a and slightly better shadow details but not by much. 3a is still decent
for sure. the 3a's camera is still great! Glad you could drop by, Benjamin! 🙏🙏
Great job. Thanks!
thanks a lot for watching!
great comparison!
thank you Preston 👍👍

I see! well it should make a solid back up Android device. especially with that camera.
Sick video💯🔥🔥
Thanks Cyrano!
The image processing in the 3a is very impressive
for sure. it's still great!
Nice job, Mike 👍
It seems the Pixel 4a is thankfully less zoomed in for portrait shots
Hi Malcontent! yeah it thankfully is. the 3a has some significant zooming.
Great comparison 🤩🤩💯
Thank you 🙏
That being said, I do think the 4a edges out over the 3a, but that's to be expected. 3a is still impressive!
Thanks for watching David. I agree the 3a can definitely hold its own. 🔥🔥
Tbh both of them are really good and you will definitely have great results from any of them
Awesome video 👏🏾
Thank you Tayo 🔥🔥 yeah they are both good.
Hi Mike!
hi Patrick!
Nice video Mike, very professional.🙂
Thanks a lot Justin! glad you liked it 🙏
What should i buy for better selfies and portrait 4a or 3a
at this point I'd go for the 4a, they recently ended software update support for the 3a.
I know this isn’t about anything other than the camera, but seeing you put them side by side just shows me how nice the design upgrade is!
for sure! full screen display is 🔥🔥🔥

yeah, they are very impressive camera phones, especially when considering the price. thanks a lot for watching!
Two great phones. Great photos as well.
thanks a lot Big House! 🔥🔥
I'm watching these 3a 4a because they can still benefit from free GFoto clowd in 2021.
Very similar results. Maybe some boosted shadow detail and color temperature differences. Great comparison though 👍
Thank you Brian! yeah they are quite similar.
Great video.
thank you. 🙏
4a completely blew 3a away on the slow mo quality... Could it be just better software on the 4a?
I'd say the better SoC definitely changes things.
Great job mike..! This is your first video I watch. I'm a fan of yours right now. ❤️From india! Go ahead 🤝
thanks a lot for the support! glad you enjoyed the video.
2:31 The sky looks better on the 3a👀
Yeah the 3a does have some better shots tbh!
Wow the photos look like a professional camera.
yeah they are pretty impressive!
Smoth sir ❤
salamat po!!
What is the song playing?
3a or 4a ...what should i buy
I have become a fan on my very first day of watching your video on UA-cam. I think I have to try the 4a too😎
thanks for the support! the 4a definitely rocks.
I will lean towards the 4a
it's a great phone 🔥🔥
6:16 Hi Erika! 😁👋
💯 solid 🤙🏼💪🏼
Somehow I like the shots on the 3a 🙃
Thanks Renz! the 3a takes good shots no doubt about it. it all boils down to how you prefer color warmth and temperature. however the 4a has the upper hand when it comes to video imo.
Sorry I’m late Mike !
no worries Rjey!
How much hours of screen play do you get in pixel 3a now!!
I don't have it anymore with me, sorry.
Google's image processing has gotten so good that the difference are not far apart.
4A still does background separation better tho.
I agree with you. the 3a has more frequently had a bit of trouble with edge detection, at least compared to the 4a.
Pixel 4a is slightly better but not by a lot I would say
yeah they're pretty close!
I don't know but I like the design of the 3a
I do like the no notch design on it.
Both cameras are great, google nailed it 👌
They sure did. pretty impressive for a non flagship device!
24fps makes video reviews/vlogs choppy. speed up the frame rate. maybe you're even scaling down from 30fps to 24fps? it doesn't look good.
Thanks for noticing that. Yeah I had 60 fps turned off on the phones, and I usually render my content at 24fps. it does appear a bit choppy.
Damn, I have the 3a but I'm a bad photographer lol
practice helps!
That elevator music is getting me going ngl
haha it is pretty chill.
❤
Both are damn
Everything is same except Front camera, Portrait,slo-mo video better in 4a
there are some differences yes.
hm.. 3a is still has good camera, but.. 4a's little bit better
3rd!
here ya goooo 🥉
It looks like you shot this in 1080p instead of 4k. You gotta let the people know what resolution u shot the video in, otherwise its useless!
