The only time I see it as a huge benefit is if you have a dash mount for your phone. You can change songs while driving without taking your eyes off the road, etc. Obviously, this applies more to older vehicles without the radio/phone integration and steering wheel controls.
Here after 4 years and it’s amazing how much Arun has changed from a calm, monotonous voice to an enthusiast, expressive one. He really has opened up and found himself as a person. He doesn’t go with the herd and give conventional phone reviews anymore and gives reviews in his own original style. Making videos about important tech topics more. Here from 2023 and would love to see how he develops as a person…
I’m still using my nearly 4 year old iPhone 6s 16gb. There are definitely some drawbacks and it is beginning to show its age but it still does everything I need it to
Yep, people need to realise, a pixel isnt a hardware experience, its a software experience, a show of prowess of what can be done with Android and certain hardware.
Pixels are usually pretty buggy on the software side as well. What Google tries to do with pixel is copy apple rather than getting the most out of Android. Atleast that's been the case so far. Instead of trying to get the most out of phone Google is trying software optimisation and such to make Android compete with iphone. Nexus series were completely opposite of that. Competitively priced hardware and great software and xda support from Google. (Google should use the revive Nexus lineup as their more budget offerings with pixels being top of the line because uptill the 4 gens of pixel devices they all felt like Google's beta projects rather than actual competitive consumer devices).
I actually really like the Pixel hardware. Was the selling point for me. Feels great in the hand without the bare metal edges or distracting screen notches of other more expensive phones.
@@vaibhavdabwalv1 my point exactly, they don't look like they wanna compete, feel like even iPhone are stepping up a bit in trying to compete hardware wise, Google are just playing too simple and somewhat inferior in my opinion. 64 base storage in the android market is just laughable and silly from Google. I know what I'm saying might subjective but this phone doesn't scream flagship.
At the presentation of Pixel 3a Google: We are worried about increasing price trend for flagship devices. After presentation of Pixel 4 Me: Now I am worried too!
iPhones are cheaper now. So it's a hard sell. iPhone 11 is $699. Has 4K 60 fps HDR video on both cameras ( wide + standard ), 40k 60 fps on front, same face ID sensor, faster CPU and GPU, more updates, brighter display. As an Android fan, i wouldn't recommend anyone to buy a pixel.
@@rph_redacted really don't think the iPhone is comparable to Android phones, but it is a great iPhone and very affordable without feeling you got the cheap version (XR was a giveaway to be cheap). I truly believe the OnePlus phones and Xiaomi are way better than this Pixel, in almost every way. The big sellingpoints for this phone are worse then most cheaper androids.
@@TheVertigohtm Now I've got the logic of Google: the same specs, the same price. The only problem it is 2019: no ultrawide camera, thick besels, 64Gb of storage looks like a joke, and for desert they removed unlimited storage for photos.
Apple : *removes headphone* Google : *makes fun of apple* Google after sometime : *removes headphone* Apple : *introduces face ID and notch* Google : *makes fun of it* Google after sometime : *introduces ugliest notch* *in 3xl and face ID* *in* 4xl.
If you don't take a whole lot of pictures, the storage space is pretty much sufficient. But the Pixel 4 marketing does somewhat boast its camera capabilities. So for those who uses the camera quite a lot (I'm guilty as charged.), it's pretty easy to burn through all that storage.
@Shahram Khanali Although that could be good for some people, I just don't like using cloud storage. Also, even if you get "unlimited" storage on Google Photos, it's not unlimited for "Original" images(Pixel up until recently offered unlimited Original photo backups). Instead, you get unlimited "High" quality backups for any phones, which means the image is already slightly compressed from the original. I don't like that. (If you do some editing with images, you're better off with the original image quality) Original backups, images aren't compressed, it is uploaded as is.
Google : Hey here's the exclusive review unit, just make sure no one sees u using the phone before the launch day Arun : yes Also Arun * unboxes it literally in the middle of a park *
Nope they won't release pixel 5 next year, because pixel line is dead and kill by google just like their others products and services. This is the last pixel device.
I have one. I love the motion sense. I use it to listen to music in my work shop. My hands a usually dirty. Being able to change songs with the air swipe is great! And honestly does anyone really care what it looks like? Is there anyone who doesn't put their phones in a case? I have the smaller one and have never had an issue getting the battery to last all day with constant use.
@@urnotmaheiam Hey thanks for being insulting. I didn't insult you. I got the phone because of its size. I absolutely hate the bigger phones. And performance wise it meets all my needs. As I said I've never had an issue getting the battery to last all day. And with it rooted it's even better.
@@urnotmaheiam because the phone suits his needs? You have to be really sad to criticize someone for a purchase that they're happy with, and a purchase that suits someone the most...
I feel like tech reviewers on UA-cam give Google a pass for SO many things that wouldn’t have been considered okay in other flagships at these pricepoints.
For the price you get: 1. No headphone jack. 2. No wide angle lens. 3. Tiny battery. 4. Big bezels. 5. No earphones included in the box. 6. Not Snapdragon 855 plus. 7. No 5G. 8. Starts at 64gb with no expandable storage. Good luck Pixel 4! 😂
Bad Battery and Bad Screen Brightness made me so sad when I got my 4xl... Its so aesthetically pleasing too I love the look and feel so much... I want the exact same phone all over again with no changes at all except a 5,000mah Battery (+ Better Optimization) and 1000nits of brightness.
Google: “We're pleased to give you the most Average phone at the end of each year” Consumers: “We ain't touching that” Google: “Thats why we built the new sensor” Consumers: “Do you even listen..” Google: “We do, even in Airplane mode”
But they always bring the best camera to the table. So average is hardly anyone should call it. Plus the assistant. But I do feel it lacks in many things as well.
2800 mah Wow! Innovative Telephoto lens is more important Wow ! Only 2x..... no ultrawide ? Not important..... Snapdragon 855??? Damn close Huge bezels ?? 2017....? Face recognition??? I’ll stick with apple Air motion gesture ??? I’ll use my Samsung galaxy s5 This is Dead Pixel
@BVZ same bro. If it weren't for that piss poor software and huge notch the 11 Pro Max would be a serious contender for me. Glad I got the OnePlus 7 Pro in the end.
But why are the display corners more rounded than on any other phone ever? If the small one had a 3400 mAh battery and more local storage for the same price, it'd be a great deal. Also that Google Photos backup thing hurts badly.
It's easier to swallow knowing that this phone is gauranteed to go on sale. Also, supposedly the "high" quality photo backup isn't that bad. But it makes all video 1080p so you'll have to back those up separetly if you care about videos at all
Portgust Zal the iphones with FaceID do this also - FaceID tracks your eyes and if you are looking at the screen, it never dims or locks, dims notification sounds, etc. Also won’t unlock the phone unless you’re actively looking at it (so someone can’t steal your phone and point it at your sleeping face to unlock it)
Not till they continue making such ugly phones. I mean look at Huawei, Nokia, Sony, Vivo, Xiaomi and then look at ugly google and apple. Its like night and day.
I feel like affording any new "good" phones is becoming a far reach with these 800's and 1000's prices, man. I've just been looking at them then continue walking. Lol
My Reviews you mean flagship? Because phones are getting very good at mid range. That’s why people are barely upgrading these days. 2 yr cycle is gone now.
@Levon Gevorgyan yeah, prices were announced on spain and it starts at 399 euro for the 64gb + 6gb ram, but the one to get is the 128 + 8gb ram because it has ufs 3.0 memory
So the iPhone 11 with: better battery, processor, more storage (128 GB), likely more than 4 years of software updates, an ultra wide instead of telephoto that no one needs, almost as good photos and way better video, still costs $50 less than the pixel with only 64 GB of storage
@@zunnen4347 seriously.... I have never thought that the iPhone would ever be a value buy compared to google phones.... The pixel has just killed it.... And by killed it I meant killed their own market share and smart phone segment
using you is much better eventhough it bit pricey but well 12gb ram really worth the note for , if only there is headphone jack and 90hz .. or atleast give dongle in box it totally perfect
When talking about price you left out that the iPhone 11 starts at $699. That's a better comparison with these phones. I know it doesn't have an OLED but other than that it's much closer than the 11 Pros are.
Dude that's the only difference between the iPhone 11 & Pro models. The screen. So being fair with your logic, the Pixels are closer to the pros not the regular 11, that's what the 4a will be.
Yeah... I mean I gotta say I'm actually really interested in the capabilities of the soli chip, but as it is google, they probably finished the prototype 3 days ago put it in a phone and now let's all the people who buy a pixel be beta testers for their new experiment. When they loose interest they gonna be like What project soli? nah never heard of it.
You can pick these phones up for an outrageous bargain nowadays, I just ordered a refurbished pixel 4 for 220 dollars Canadian. After owning both a pixel 2XL and a pixel 2 Ill miss the big screen but the regular pixel size is a much more manageable phone
I feel like the pixel 4 was kind of a let down, but it could also be a great stepping stone leading the Pixel 5 to be great. Many of the things that the pixel 4 has could really use another year of development to truly become great and immensely useful. So, I'm just hoping that google uses this and does the Pixel 5 right.
DEXED Music the pixel 4 was a major let down for me. And I do hope that this is a stepping stone for the 5, but, the iPhone 11 is a confirmed stepping stone for the iPhone 2020, I feel like the google pixel is just never gonna be on par with iPhone and Samsung, or atleast they need to make some major adjustments over a few years without stepping stone models.
The bad thing about google is that they don't listen to what people want. They don't give a shit. They already have a lot of money and don't give a shit about phones, which is a really small part of their company. They just do some shit with a good camera and that's it. They dont innovate at all. iPhone doesn't innovate that much but they don't need it, since iPhones are the most beautiful phones, and they have great camera and great functioning. Pixel needs to move their ass and actually listen to what people want.
Exactly my thoughts. I still have a 2 and not even and xl and I still love it as much as when I bout it two and a half years ago. This Christmas I'm asking for a new case for the first time lol. The pixels are really awesome and I hope the 5 is awesome too because if I were to get a new one (because it broke or something) it's looking like that would be the one. I'm super excited for it
I think from the BACK, the orange Pixel 4 is one of the nicest looking phones over the last 10 years. Unfortunately I don't think they've handled colours so well since.
Google's innovation of 2019 flagship Phone: Notchless display- Brought back the bezel to remove the notch Gesture navigation-I guess we had this tech called air gesture in galaxy series in S4 back in 2012 Camera-Telephoto is the most important . Wide Angle ? Google - Who cares 🤦♂️
The diff is it's soli which is even more secure than face id, and the rear tof based focus sensor makes tracking and focus so much faster and more accurate, wide angle is useless. Soli has other use cases that I'm excited for.
Coming back to this review to say how much I've loved my pixel 4 over its life time. Updates from google have come on the regular and new features constantly, camera is amazing and I love the astrophotography mode. I will be going for the new 6 in a few months and the 4 has been the most fun and favorite phone I've ever owned (Also living the bright life with oh so orange) beautiful color
@@earnistse4899 I don't know why you ever thought this about the Pixel 4. This phone had the worst battery of all phones at the time and still does. The screen is barely 400 nits brightness which is impossible to see outside. I got angry and felt that google failed me when I got the 4xl lol. I even still tried the 6a and hated it the same. Also, I got a 13 Pro Max instead and I've never been happier with any other phone.
A bezel is so much better than a notch though, and this is coming from me who is using an a70 Edit: My notch isn't really a problem though since my phone is massive. I'm talking about the fat notch on the iphone which a bezel is much better than.
does anyone really use those cheap wired headphones that come with phones these days???? Doesn't everyone have a box full of them in a closet??? A lot about nothing to me.

@@ferrenberg Bruh when you have the phone hands on, it's not really all that bad. I think the XL does a batter job of handling the top heavy bezel because of its massive size. MKBHD flamed the phone's design and no ultra wide, so being biased is out of the question.
*I cancelled my pre order best decision I ever made.* The Launch event they only talked about the phone's camera. Which doesn't even have Ultra Wide. More reasons to stick with my S10+. They didn't actually talk much about the phone itself. Disappointing launch event
I love it. Left Apple for the Pixel 4xl and won't go back. The camera is amazing, the speakers are very loud, and the screen is outstanding! Additionally you can go into the camera settings and set it for a more wide angle shot.
@@chaichai508 no not laggy. Just as snappy as the iphone. Not going to lie to you though. Apple has that battery life stuff down pretty good. The phone will last all day but the battery life isn't as good as the iPhones.
The OLED 90 Hz screen being the differentiator. Ofcourse people will compare the regular 11 or for that matter all lesser priced phones with the higher priced flagships, on the value argument. But it doesn't rule out the fact that the flagships offer a better experience, everyone offering something unique. Ofcourse the mid range or "value" flagships getting so much better lately makes the price argument necessary but not always accurate! 🍻
Everything samsung introduce "UA-camrs " - it's kinda gimmicky. Every other mobile company introduce shit "UA-camrs"- it's pretty handy i use it on daily basis.

Literally every phone you buy made in 2019 will be good enough to get you through several years of your life.
Honestly. We're at a point where the tech is becoming really niche, literally any phone will do now.
I’m still using my nearly 4 year old iPhone 6s 16gb. There are definitely some drawbacks and it is beginning to show its age but it still does everything I need it to
Not the pixel battery with
Agreed, phones nowadays come down to what's most important to the individual user
yo agree.
Lol you told people to understand that its a software experience but apple fanboys don't want to listen,😂
Still trash.
At the presentation of Pixel 3a
Google: We are worried about increasing price trend for flagship devices.
After presentation of Pixel 4
Me: Now I am worried too!
Same prices as last year...no "increase". Calm your worried tits down
iPhones are cheaper now.

The Launch event they only talked about the phone's camera. Which doesn't even have Ultra Wide. More reasons to stick with my S10+. They didn't actually talk much about the phone itself. Disappointing launch event
Yeah don't swap your s10+ for that..
How often do u use ultra wide
@@josefrancis4875 Like 87% of the time and I take a lot of photos. Sounds like you've never been able to use it before.
If you have a s10+ and your already looking to upgrade you need to stop thinking that a new shiny phone will provide you endless happiness

Apple: I have made the most underwhelming phone of 2019
Google: hold my charger
by no manner iphones are underwhelming this year
Yeah no the iPhone honestly wasn’t close to underwhelming this year
You cannot afford either of those phones anyway, so why even throwing a fit here?
It’s a joke, chill
@@Ummmohyeah did you just assume our wallets?
I love it. Left Apple for the Pixel 4xl and won't go back. The camera is amazing, the speakers are very loud, and the screen is outstanding! Additionally you can go into the camera settings and set it for a more wide angle shot.
is battery life good too? is it laggy or not?
@@chaichai508 no not laggy. Just as snappy as the iphone. Not going to lie to you though. Apple has that battery life stuff down pretty good. The phone will last all day but the battery life isn't as good as the iPhones.
@@MitchelCosta oh okay thanks for the info
LOL How do you just compare the price of the Pixel 4 to the 11 Pro when you decided to skip the 11 which is cheaper ?
TCMFGamesOFFICIAL bIaSEd as always. Huawei offers more money, google too.
Everything samsung introduce
"UA-camrs " - it's kinda gimmicky.
Every other mobile company introduce shit
"UA-camrs"- it's pretty handy i use it on daily basis.
Exactly dude! I was gonna say it. Like wtf!
They want Samsung to pay them more I guess.
Damn these be real facccsss this pixel is sooo shitty this dude is prolly upvoting it for clout 🚮🚮
Nah LG got flamed for their gesture system to be very gimmicky.
Whatever Samsung introduces in their flagships imo is far from gimmicky.
Its always has been like that. Eye tracking, curved display, amoled display, best multitasking for years and yet its always gimmick when they release it, but when apple or any other releases it, its insane innovation.
@@vasilije94 apple and innovation never match in the same sentence
Designer: What's the size of the upper bezel you want?
Google: Yes

Since the 3a exists I'm more hyped for the 4a now.
I would die if they come with a smaller battery and no telephoto, after the Pixel 4 announcement i wouldn't be surprised
If i was in your place, i would just buy a k20 pro flash a custom rom

Pixel owner: sees a nice girl
Pixel 4 watching his eyes: WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO THERE? 🤔
Mihnea Lazăr Dude that “joke” sucks bad.
kotan80 well that’s cool. But i think 50 people don’t agree.
I'm the 69th like.
Ikari Exactly, over 19 mil people are subbed to Jake Paul, so 70-ish people liking this shitfest of a joke isn’t that hard to imagine
Ikari it’s incredible how people like you start offending others for making a joke... I get it: you didn’t like it. But why do you have to make me retarded? I guess that’s all you can...

Arrghh. I'm gonna watch it anyways.
Shut up
Literally! Haha
Great video and good to see technical guru ji with you
Arun: 6.3 inch screen is small
Sooooo mobile phones should have 10inch screens now?
It isn't an iPhone so he doesn't like it as much.

When I heard about the battery size it was all over for me
when i heard no fingerprint it was over
The look is so clean 🪥
Everyone: Hey its the IPhon..
Google: *No*
"It might not sound great but I actually really like the Pixel 4 phones."
I'll like it too at half the price.
This shit not even worth 500$ for me
absolute crap of a phone compared to any of the competition, worse in almost every way I can think of. that's really quite amazing
Looks like from 2015ish
I think it's ok. I'm not switching from my S10 for sure, but its honestly not that bad. But google is not really the best smartphone maker.
Just bought this phone. Can't wait to check out the camera, and have a good battery life!!
