This is what I want to see, as I'm debating on upgrading from my Pixel 3XL to a pixel 4a, or wait for pixel 5 announcement. The price of pixel 4a is enticing, but if the camera is just barely better on the 4a, I will just keep the 3XL as it has a great wide angle front camera.

So I just finished doing a camera off between my 3a and 4a. Overall I felt like the 3a was actually more accurate to color in very dark photos. Some of the photos came out a little more crisp on the 3a also. And for the night selfie, the 4a looked horrible compared to the 3a. No matter what mode even with video, the 3a had a much better front camera.
I've seen that on a few reviews, well the pixel 4 v 3a reviews , how the camera isn't necessarily better ( that being the main camera ) obviously the advantage the pixel 4 has over the 3a is the telephoto, even the 3a digital zoom faired well against that !😊

@@danielalonso701 absolutely. I'm rocking one right now in fact. If you're used to a modern flagship it might feel a tad slow but not much. It's probably on par with the original Pixel or Galaxy S8 in processing power. Camera is phenomenal. Yesterday's Android update seemed to speed mine up a little too. You can find the 3a XL in great condition used for around $300 now i think. Put a good case on it. I'm using the Google OEM case, and I've gotten some almost unnoticeable micro scratches on it. @@danielalonso701 your welcome bro! I love mine for sure. I don't play games on my phone so the processing power doesn't bother me at all. It's the modem that's built onto the processor where i notice it being a little slow compared to a modern flagship. Videos, and some other things might take an extra half second to load than they do on a modern flagship. Pictures also take slightly longer to process compared to the Pixel 4 XL. Still for the money you save it's a very small sacrifice in performance.
I'm still using a pixel 2xl. Would it be worth it to change to the 4a? The only issue I have with my 2xl is the battery drains a little faster than before but it is also a phone from 2017 so obviously the battery has seen better days.
@@thisguyrools2807 i agree! As 2xl will get android 11 and this year is pretty messed up given Qualcomm pushing 5g and raising prices unnecessarily. I don't think it's a good year to buy phones given you've one which will work smoothly for another year

I think the 4a had clearly better video, especially when panning from the buildings to the trees. Of course I know nothing about photography so thats just me
The only thing I don't love about the 4a is the holepunch camera. For me: Selfie camera in small bezel > no selfie camera > holepunch camera > notch Google really did nail it though. I have the 3a and I'm so encouraged that they kept this line going!
@@marksouthwell4490 It's definitely the "in" design! I just don't like seeing the hole in the middle of something I'm doing in full screen, like watching UA-cam. pixel 4A always better than pixel 3A
I still have the first generation. Think I found my next phone 😂
I would prefer a comparison between the 3a XL and the 4a
3a and 3aXL 's differences are only the battery cuz the XL is bigger
@@albertmunoz9075
Well, and the Display size. Seeing them Side by Side would be cool.
A rumored to by shockingly cheap Pixel 5 enters the chat.
Would you recommend 3a for € 250 or 4a for € 389? Thanks
3a still is good
Just black for Pixel 4a, I missed the purple Irish 😢
Yeah the purplish 3a without the hole punch looks better to me.
@@tonycarlson9013 Do you think Pixel 3a XL is a good buy for 2020?
@@danielalonso701 absolutely. I'm rocking one right now in fact. If you're used to a modern flagship it might feel a tad slow but not much. It's probably on par with the original Pixel or Galaxy S8 in processing power. Camera is phenomenal. Yesterday's Android update seemed to speed mine up a little too. You can find the 3a XL in great condition used for around $300 now i think. Put a good case on it. I'm using the Google OEM case, and I've gotten some almost unnoticeable micro scratches on it. You'll be more than happy with it. It's a great phone to ride until 5G becomes more available.
@@tonycarlson9013 Yes! I like its camera I don't play games or apps like using a big processor. Also I love the purple Irish.
Thank you friend, next days I'll buy my new Pixel 3a XL ❤
@@danielalonso701 your welcome bro! I love mine for sure. I don't play games on my phone so the processing power doesn't bother me at all. It's the modem that's built onto the processor where i notice it being a little slow compared to a modern flagship. Videos, and some other things might take an extra half second to load than they do on a modern flagship. Pictures also take slightly longer to process compared to the Pixel 4 XL. Still for the money you save it's a very small sacrifice in performance.
People need to realise you can't attempt astrophotography in polluted environments. Of course it's not going to be impressive if you live in a city.
Thanks for sharing.
That's true
I'm still using a pixel 2xl. Would it be worth it to change to the 4a? The only issue I have with my 2xl is the battery drains a little faster than before but it is also a phone from 2017 so obviously the battery has seen better days.
I'd say hold on to your 2xl. Maybe go for 5a.
@@Saurabh-hx1yp my best bet would be to just get a the battery replaced then in the meantime
@@thisguyrools2807 i agree! As 2xl will get android 11 and this year is pretty messed up given Qualcomm pushing 5g and raising prices unnecessarily. I don't think it's a good year to buy phones given you've one which will work smoothly for another year
Already hearing that that battery is poor, seems to be the norm for Pixel devices... If only Google would stop skimping and put in a bigger battery they would have a winner!
Really? From who? Every reviewer says the battery is good
I think the 4a had clearly better video, especially when panning from the buildings to the trees. Of course I know nothing about photography so thats just me
Compare stereo speakers
Will do.
I'm planning to buy the 4a because my pixel 3a is to blue and saturated
Is it just me or does the 3a images looks better compared to the 4a
It's not "Google's turn", the iPhone SE copied the Pixel 3a.
The only thing I don't love about the 4a is the holepunch camera. For me:
Selfie camera in small bezel > no selfie camera > holepunch camera > notch
Google really did nail it though. I have the 3a and I'm so encouraged that they kept this line going!
I don't like it's pointless camera block on the rear, obviously an after thought . However , I do quite like the hole punch design on its front 😊
@@marksouthwell4490 It's definitely the "in" design! I just don't like seeing the hole in the middle of something I'm doing in full screen, like watching UA-cam. It's basically the same issue as a notch, but it's obviously way smaller.
Agreed on the camera block. I miss the OG Pixel with no camera bump! I wish OEMs would get back to that, even if it means making the phone a bit thicker. Fill the space with a bigger battery!
rice, chips and waffle. So many carbs
And they were potato waffles. This guy doesn't do protein.
No one cares
I like the camera
👍
Y'all need to understand that it has no IP rating. The heck!
Well I accidentally jumped in a pool with my 3a now its gone dead. 4a here I come I guess
Sooooo....do all major tech reviewers sign a contract or something because like...every Pixel 4a review dropped today, or is is an unwritten rule?🤔🤔
I think it's part of the agreement to get a review unit.
@@eamonob84 it has to be...
I’m actually getting this phone for the astrophotography
