The sound effects and blurred vision at 33:16 made me feel like I was actually there in your shoes. Those night grind hours can be rough! Amazing video Ryan! I'm impressed how much of the event you were able to document. 👏 Congrats on your finish! Heck of a race!
Ryan, this is just awesome at so many levels. Training for and finishing this monster of a race is amazing...and that you did it without bonking or having any catastophes along the way is a testament to your training and your race plan and execution. THEN, you've produced a work of art in this video. The planning, the editing, THE MUSIC, the way you told the story is first rate. Having John with the second camera added a huge positive to the video's impact. I rolled it up on my big screen and good sound system and drank it in today. The technical quality of both the video and audio is very high. I've been waiting for this, knowing you'd made a great video...but, wow, this was beyond expectations. This showcases what trail running is and how you deal with it...puking and all. LOVED the short bit at 32:18 of "things fall apart"!! Very good visual effects. My wife wants to watch it now too...will give her a further flavor of why I like train running so much. Awesome job, dude, thank you for all the effort. This video should win some awards....so pleased it's had over a thousand views already today!!! Well done!!!
Absolutely love your race recap videos. Besides the obvious physical challenge you overcome, your ability to stay positive through all the pain and suffering is inspiring and motivating. Great job in making these for others to enjoy.
Beautifully made video of that fantastic race! It is hard for me to imagine adding filming/narrating to the challenge. It is a wonderful gift to be able to watch this and remember the race, thank you :) I was able to pick myself out in the first-wave start (~11:20) in the black shirt/shorts with the white cap and red shoes. You did a great job of capturing the emotions throughout this awesome adventure. Congratulations on your accomplishments! Maybe we’ll meet at another race some time, I’ve got family in Indiana so I get up that way often.
For all outside of USA: 108 miles is 173,8 km and elevation of 33,213 feet is 10123 meters. It gives some valuable information to anyone who wants to try similar challenges.
