So you don’t recommend cleaning and rinsing the sand that was siphoned and return it back in the tank?

Official WASABI Moderator: Dear Bibo, you can rinse sand and re-use it, but it must be cleaned with no detritus and malm remaining in it, otherwise, it's easier to replace it with new sand.

I like to use a magnet glued to fishing line to magnetically remove soil from the sand. The aquasoil I use is magnetic and so it sticks to the magnet, but the sand doesn't.

Official WASABI Moderator: Nice trick, does it might take a long time with a small magnet for a large tank?

@@NORIaquaCh I only have a 60cm aquarium, but it is quite a fast method.

My tank is filled with staghorn algae, please suggest me few tips or make one video to deal with staghorn algae..I have watched all your algae related videos, bt staghorn is hard to remove from plant, please help

Official WASABI Moderator: This is caused by excess or imbalance of nutrients in the water. The ideal nutrients are: 10 to 25 mg/l nitrate (NO3), 5 to 10mg/l potassium (K), 0.1 to 1mg/l phosphate (PO4) and >10mg/l magnesium (Mg). Perform a consistent 50% water change every week to remove the staghorn algae. This prevents the accumulation of nutrients and other substances. Other factors that contribute to this type of algae are: insufficient CO2, insufficient water circulation, and too much (or strong) lighting. Use a lot of Amano shrimp to get rid of this algae. If that is not in your budget, use Seachem Excel instead and locally dose it with a syringe directly on the affected areas.

Official WASABI Moderator: Dear Andh, you may use the substrate spatula, aquarium glass razor or melamine sponge to clean the algae there.
