  • 【GOODBYE ALGAE!! Water changes to prevent algae】
「Even though I change the water every week, the inside of the tank is covered with algae!」
「I don't know how to get rid of the algae.」
「I want to know the correct way to change the water in the planted aquarium.」
This video is very useful for such people.
I will explain in detail how to change the water to prevent algae.
For my translated videos, there will be times when the audio will be out of sync,
This is due to not needing as much time to explain things in English
It will sound off and I am sorry.

Thank you for the great video, it makes sense now to me. One remark is of a mathematical order: 2 50% waterchanges is not the same amount of water as 1 50% one.

Excelente video. Yo prefiero hacer un cambio de agua del 50% antes que 2 del 25%.Aunque si hago 2 del 50% mejor. Como usted dice el acuario te lo va a decir. Saludos

25% 2x a weeks works to reduce algae but it’s a bit too much work for me. An automated water change system would be great.

I gravel vac each week with my 1/3 water change. I would think that would remove more detritus that contribute to algae. Yet I still have black spot algae, it's worst than bba 😢

    • @NORIaquaCh
      @NORIaquaCh 3 роки тому

Official WASABI Moderator: Very good regime, 50% water changes is recommended per week. For detritus and malm, I recommend using a turkey baster (dedicated to the aquarium :)).

Just changing the water will only reset the pryameters, if algae is caused by light or nutrients deficiency a water change is useless and can even do more damage

But without adding chemicals my tap water is crap. If unchanged then nature stabalises it in my aquarium. I have a dirted deep substrate tank and don't change for a year, healthy plants and fish. 👌

I make one water change per week but at least one week per month i do what i call flushing week,i do a 25/33% water change every other day increasing the water changed every time, i do that because if you do a 25% percent of the water out of the tank 75% still remain in the tank, soo to remove 25% of the 75% remaining water a bigger change is needed (33,3%) , a key on doing this without getting a bacterial bloom is to do it with a really well cycled tank and to do it away in time from filter cleaning.
I hope this could help someone.

    Very calm and informative.
I feel like the whole live plants thing is just peer pressure for marketing schemes, like introducing to smoking a cigarette when you're young.
After a lot research, I ditch the cookie cutter aquascape and go bare bottom. Save $ on substrates and live plants.
The pros of going bare bottom with simple Aquaponics setup.
My fishes finished all their foods. The bottom of the tank stay sparky clean. My hang on household plants eliminated ammonia and algae. Water change only take a few minutes and I don't have to trim plants or gravels vacuum. A win win for me.
My filter media contain 8 bio balls and 2 sponge floss (the white and blue type)
Here is the sceenshots of my tank.
    imgur.com/gallery/201V8IU
Any suggestions for my tiny self cleaning tank?
I lol'd at one of the guppy staring at my background photo.
