I also love how Ted and Dougal are talking about a person's confession like it's a soap opera that they can't wait to know what happens in the next episode.

It's so shocking how 20 years has just flown by (At least to me)
Dermot was a teacher of mine, he started out on ' The live Mike' he would arrive in on a Monday after the show and we would invariably get him to rehash his comedy sketches! Bumped into him regularly years after. A comedy genius never fully recognised in his Country until he passed, R.I.P.
Must be a clickbait title. They haven't uploaded the entire series into one big video. ALL of it was the best.
Easily the greatest consistently brilliant comedy show ever made since fawlty towers.
And that only managed 12 episodes.
And yes, blackadder probably beats them all. 4 series, every episode outrageously funny, and the last one made us all burst into tears.

The late great Dermot Morgan. A Dubliner, brilliant actor, writer, One of the best satarists of modern Irish political life with his radio show scrap Saturday amoung other things. We saw, a lot more of his work here in Ireland then you ever did in the uk. Father Ted was fantastic too

The scene where Bishop Brennan kicks him up the arse and he goes flying is just the funniest ending out of all the episodes really laughed at that bit

That thing would be worth a fortune to any collector. It's the epitome of the entire series in my opinion.

My favourite bit is when Ted thinks he's got away with kicking Bishop Brennan "Up The A*se" to quote the script. Classic!

Awe poor Dermot Morgan his life taken from him the day after he filmed the last episode of father ted leaving behind a very promising career he had just been commissioned to write a show also leaving behind three sons his wife Fiona one of his grandsons has been named after him so maybe he could potentially follow in his grandads footsteps

I never laughed so hard as I did in the Song for Europe episode when Ted and Dougal are trying to write the song in the bedroom. Dougal gets annoyed with himself when he can't remember a note so Ted tries to calm him down. Fast forward on the clock, the room is full of cigarette smoke and Ted is swearing all over the place shouting at Dougal "JUST PLAY THE FUCKING NOTE!!!!!!"

Father Ted is one of the funniest and most re-watchable comdies of all time. So many top comedies died with their star: Dear John, Desmond's, Father Ted...
Desmond's! So few people remember that show, it's lovely to see a comment about it!
Just brilliant they don't make a lot of the comedies like this anymore. Fawlty towers was another classic favourite of mine it's just such simple humor that can change your mood in seconds.

This show was one of the great TV comedies, a work of genius with every episode an absolute gem. I am laughing now, remembering the episode when the three Bishops came to Craggy island and at the end one was carried out in a coffin, one had become a hippy and the other hobbled out because he had the "holy" stone of Craggy island shoved up is A***e. That final scene still makes me cry with laughter

I watched Father Ted first time round and don't know how many times I've watched it since, even though I know the punchlines I still watch it and laugh, gotta be the funniest comedy out there, along with Fawlty Towers, and Blackadder.

The way Linehan has been treated is utterly appalling. Destroying a man's career because he had the courage to speak out about the iniquity of the 'trans' idiocy is outrageous. I know there are many things he about which he and I would not agree but he does not deserve to have his llife destroyed by a vindictive cabal of activists.

Still funny after 26+ years. It was real comedy. Priests in Ireland used to watch this and comment how funny it was when they meet at funerals, etc. I had to ask them to stop laugh due to respect to the decease, as their laugher was loud. It was the priest without the funny bone (who other priest dislike) who complained.

I loved this show - legendary.
I nearly never saw this show....l thought it was a religious thing like songs of praise! So l kept turning over. Then l saw the one with the fair in the field and l was hooked thankfully🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍

Ted speaks to me on an emotional level, the kind of level you will not understand unless you have a similar life changing experience to me and Ted. The two of us are so similar in so many ways, we both seemed to develop at the same pace throughout life and hes been with me throught iy all and will forever remain as my biggest idol. I know you will never see this Ted but youve shaped me as a human being and i am so very greatful for this, thank you for everything I Love You.
