Yea done
Fair play to you. Can't go wrong with a bit of Father Ted.
Carefull now
Best of Father Dougal - Father Ted 1916pm 21.1.25 akin to Footasylum when you wanna make a complaint - the lights are on but there's nobody at home. is about spot on...
I was working at a hotel in Canterbury and Ardel came to stay. I took him up to his room carrying his cases. In the lift he looked at me and gave me the Father Dougal grin, eyebrows raised. One of the highlights of my pathetic life.
did you say to him "IIiii Donnt Beeleeiivve It!
Nothing pathetic about your life brother, thanks for sharing
Stuart omg I would die 😂😂❤️❤️
I hope that he said, 'There you are then!'
Haha, I bet when he knows he's been recognised, he always does that look. It's his trademark.
Ardal and Dermot were one of the best comedic duos of the last forty years.
I'd say possibly 41 or even 42 years.
Funny they never worked together as comedians in Ireland. Did they even know one another?
Without a doubt.
I just watched Ardal on Taskmaster 13. He's as a beautiful a Dougal as the day the show ended.
The way Dougal looks at Bishop Brennan before he says "How's the son?" gets me every time. You just know exactly what he's going to say. Priceless.
How's the son???? 💀
@@kathleenevans676 yep! 👌
Speaking of facial expressions, I love the visual exchange between Ted and Brennan when the Bishop notices the.....fertility symbol lol
He says with genuine childlike simplemindedness. I’d say it just to get under his skin.
I love how he keeps calling him Len.
One of very few programmes you can watch years later and still get a laugh.
EVEN THOUGH WE KNOW VIRTUALLY EVERY WORD COMING
It's a shame it only lasted three seasons.
@@Plaid_Vlad on the contrary, if it had lasted longer it would absolutely lose its charm
@@ronanokane4068 another 2 seasons would have made it, could binge watch it longer
@Sleeping Very, very few. Fawlty Towers is one. None of them are American though
My Lovely Horse was the best song Eurovision never had.
But they need to lose the sax solo.
i think it was divine comedy that did the song not there version
👍🤣
Cyrille Liszt those blue suits are amazing.
It is the Devin comedy. Theme tune too.
"And for some reason it's got a tremendous fear of stamps"
The delivery and just the sheer out of left field presentation killed me.
Every actor/actress was pure gold in this show.
Dan Hall my hands down favourite guest actor has to be Graham Norton aka Father Noel Furlong 😆❤️
@@caits_burke4394 Me tooooooooooo
And of course Father Fintan Stack - absolute legend lol
@@Gogs126 dont forget Larry Duff Larry is always tremendous fun
@andrewneill9873 dont get me started on that scene Graham was excellent 😂
Imagine if Dermot had lived and 15 - 20 years later they all came back to do a couple of reunion episodes, or better yet a series. It would be immense.
Season 3 was supposed to be the end, but if he'd lived they would've brought it back at some point, I'm sure of it.
Dermont did a lot of comedy pre-Ted, but only in the Irish Republic. It wasn't until Father Ted was syndicated by the BBC, that he became internationally known.
And I reckon they would, and of course it would be … epic. Thank you Dermot out for what you gave us, you were just perfect. 🙏
Dermot was bored of Father Ted and wanted to move on, but I do think it's likely the show may have been rebooted or even just the odd special being made.
It's absolutely horrific how he died so young 😭💔
"Ted you're not gonna believe this, Clint Eastwood has been arrested for a crime he didn't... oh wait no its a fillum"
Your username made me laugh more than the quote itself XD
Future Venom Zone it’s not a film, its a Fillum.
HAHAHAHA
Future Venom Zone P p.
Kelly14UK 0.
Small, far away has to be my favourite joke in any comedy. There's no lead up to it, but you can still imagine Dougal exclaiming "Ted look! Those cows over there are the same size as these fellas!" just seconds beforehand
The greatest sitcom in my lifetime. I've watched every episode again and again and still everyone of them makes me laugh. Timeless classic!
Same with me... My daughter and I still find a new laugh watching the same episodes.. A funny look or quip!! Best ever sitcom!!! Careful now!!!!
I was late finding this, although I knew OF IT-- but all previous ''Comedies'' about the Church, were of poor predictability, and I didn't give ''TED'' a trial. BUT, I've made up for it ten-fold since.
@@sueroberts6193 yep!.....down wit that sort of ting! 🤣👍
I think it's tied with I'm Alan Partridge. Both are consistently hilarious.
@@thebatman4279 I’d say red dwarf is a contender too though some don’t really consider it a sitcom.
Let's be honest here, every second of Dougal's screen time is his "best of"
Dougal: Ted is it true that Father Jack once had a trial for Liverpool??
Ted: No Dougal, he was on trial IN Liverpool. 🤣🤣
This show helped me through the 2008 financial crisis and horrible depression! Thank you Father Ted. RIP Dermont!
How are you know? Hope you are doing well :) it my favourite tv show
@@cinnamonbun1354 Thanks I’m surviving! Good choice of favourite shows
It’s only 14 minutes long! That’s a short depression.
@@Charlie_Bug-h3k I was lucky that way!
Same here with COVID 2020!
I love how Ted insists on getting the boxes neatly stacked up on the other side of the road.
Makoto Yuki Only to plow through them with his crappy Ford Cortina
It's a Paradis of old game shows like the Cripton Factor
Makoto Yuki thats what probaly killed him in real life
I love that Dougal doesn't just step off the truck.
Absolute classic scene
Sad that Dermot Morgan who played Father Ted died of a heart attack just as this ended and he was only 45. It happened 1 day after they filmed the final episode, at a dinner party he was hosting to celebrate it ending and him having a much needed break.
There were plans for another series if Dermot had survived. The original ending was to see Ted take up the offer and move to America it was changed to allow another potential series, unfortunately because of Dermotts passing it never happened 😢
@@lexdavies3656 Such a classic series. It's hard to make comedy that doesn't date.
Can you ghouls stop saying this under every clip from this show?
@@theylivewesleep.5139 This is the only clip I've looked at from this show......
I was thinking about that during the part at 5:24. Ironic, in a macabre way
Quite simply one of the greatest comedies of all time.
Speed 3 was amazing and Pat Mustard was the all time best villain ever.
I don't think I stopped laughing for the whole episode.
Pat mustards cowboy boots are still smoking. Hilarious!
Mr Burgess in the snapper 🤣🤣
“When your little friend gets over 4 mph the bomb will be armed, but, when he goes back under 4 mph then. Boooooooooooooooommmmm”
“I’m sorry I didn’t catch that what happens when he goes under 4 mph?” Genius
Mrs Doyle: Father, Pat wants to put his massive tool in my box.
This man is a national treasure
The pauses Dougal has to let the audience stew on what he'll screw up next are priceless
video for the mentally retarded and actors of the same scored
"Is there not something to be said for another Mass?" Such a great show.
Dougle is the epitome of “Bless his heart” for me...
Been watching this since I lived at home with my family. I’m 50 this month and I was 19 when I left. No good at maths but been laughing at Father Ted all the time. Thanks for helping me smile when my face wanted to do the opposite.
The best bit is where he explains his difficulties in religion to the bishop
I want to get to the universe where Father Ted didnt die
I fucking love everything about Father Ted. I can't even fathom how many times I've watched it...it never gets old.
"Small, faraway" is one of my all time favourite father ted and Dougal moments
Dougal was my favourite character next to Mrs Doyle. I loved the Milk float, the best and my lovely Horse episodes. You left out "Hello! Father Dougal Maguire here, and welcome to this week's Top of the Pops!" also one of my favourite clips of Dougal saying "God, it's lovely out" then showing the storm and "The ants are back Ted" and showing ants up close.
@Ian Thompson I loved that lol
My lovely horse, what a classic.
How the cast kept their faces straight is a miracle.
"DOUGAL LISTEN TO ME! THERE'S A BOMB ON THE MILK FLOAT!!!"
"A bomb? Right!...who's that for?"
🤣
Father Ted was the best comedy ever in Ireland loved it
ANYWHERE
Agreed!
The World wide rank is good too......I can't imagine someone with sense of humor anywhere else without a great opinion of this serie..
Watching it here in India.
More water
'Are you OK there, Len?' 'Don't call me Len! I'm a Bishop, you little bollock!'
"You address me by my proper title! Ya little bollucks!"
"It wasn't a real horse, it was an oul fella with a saddle on him"🤣
"We have to lose that Sax Solo!"
Two of my favourite bits arent in this. At the end credits when they show the sports day highlights and a fight breaks out dougal kicks a priest and walks off.
The other is him and Ted playing charades and Dougal guessing and says Jaws 2. Ted says ‘It was Jaws! You had it with Jaws’ and Dougal reacts angrily ‘No Ted, its a different film, its a different shark!’
Genius 🤣
one of the best characters ever
The only comedy that I ever saw that you could not wait to get back to your work to talk about it with your mates. That's how funny this is. Absolute 💯 Class
This never gets old you can watch it over and over again and it's still as funny as the 1st time you seen it
Even the look on Dougal's face in the thumbnail cracks me up.
If you look up "mad eejit" in the dictionary you'll get that picture
“Bishops love sci fi” so many great lines.
There's a bomb on the milk float!
"Oh right then. Who's that for?"
I don't wanna be a milkman anymore!
Theresa May maybe?
Oh I wish!
Look it's. A big bunch of boxes on the middle of the road 😂😂
That last scene reminds me of the movie "Speed"
I love how Dougal wears his soccer outfit to bed.
*Football
Thats when the Ireland team were a great team not like they are now
Love how Magnum PI is on Dougals 'They Don't Exist' chart
I’m binge watching father Ted for the first time. What an absolute joy. RIP Dermot and Frank btw.
Today ,it have been two years since my very best friend in the whole world died . I'm watching Dougal and he makes me laugh and smile through tears . That's a real hero: someone to make you smile no matter what .
I love Dougal. I met the actor a couple of times, he's really tall and stylish and sweet. He made the Dougal face for a pic with me lol He didn't tell me he would, so that made me laugh.
A friend of mine met Frank Kelly (Father Jack) and was totally charmed by him.
@@rolandscales9380 , he was in emmerdale for a while but it took me ages to realise it was him
“Sorry Ted! I just remembered aliens is on after the news” is the funnest bit of Dougal in the entire show. After all, bishops love sci fi
I know, it's great! And his scream of excitement just beforehand. 😂
.. inspiration for JJ Abrams Classic series "Fringe"... John Noble as Walter Bishop is legendary! Yes indeed... Bishopas and Sci Fi lol
One of the best comedies of all time.
The truth is that every great Dougal moment is almost always a fantastic Ted moment. Morgan sold those gormless looks O'Hanlon was giving like an absolute champ.
“It’s like a big tide of jam coming towards us but jam made out of old women.”
-Father Dougal McGuire
"Dougal? Do we have any incense?"
"I saw a spider in the bath the other day"
He said INCENSE, not INSECTS!
Loved this series, have seen all episodes umpteen times but never got bored 👍🏼👍🏼
3:19 that has to be the funniest most original joke on a comedy series ive ever heard. You don't see it coming
What?
You don't see what coming?
Carefull now
"Those women were in the nip!"
also
Ted: Maybe he's agrophobic?
Dougal: "What? Father Jack afraid of fighting? I dont think so, Ted!"
I love Dougal with everything. He’s like a little kid and I love it
I am so glad I grew up in a time that had shows like Father Ted, Alan Partridge, Only Fools upto the Inbetweeners and Friday Night Dinner. Father Ted is my all time favourite.
Excellent. Lovely, warm memories of this time in the nineties.
Still missing Dermot Morgan. RIP.
Small.....far away.
Never fails to make me laugh!
This was the funniest comedy in the history of the world! I know every line and I still lmao
I have no words to describe how much I love this show 💚👍
I adore Dougal. Such a cutie.
Carefull now
"Instead of a mouth it's got four arses...." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That was hilarious!
The way Ted shoots off his chair when Dougal asks how's the son!! How's everything in the world of religion!!! Great
"I hear you're a Racist now, Father..."
"Should we all be racists" 😂
A simple question , loaded with laughs, given what had happened, only seconds before, and for me, surprising, for the mid 90's. I don't recall this madness going back that far.
That's That's favorite scene in the whole series
@@MrDaiseymay I loved that bits I bet even the Chinses or black people love the show too. its only the PC Brigade who Kill it like Little Britain they took the p out of everyone regardless so noone could say they were this or that.
The best of Father Dougal should be at least ten times longer!
I know every word of every scene and I'm still breaking me shite laughing!!😂
ms connolly breaking me shiye😂😂😂😂
Same 🤣
You know if your Scottish or Irish if you pronounce it shite.
Same here and I´m not even Irish! Father Ted was a hit, even up here in Scandinavia! 😂
One of the few comedy's that actually gets funnier the more times you've seen it!
DOUGAL!!!! WE ARE NOT WATCHING ALIENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, back to religion...
But bishops love SCI-FI!
Still one of my favourite lines lol
Funniest part is 2001 a Space Odyssey is John Paul II's favorite film in the si-fi genre.
Directors Cut...
The funniest comedy to hit our TV sets brilliant.
This compilation was missing the Father Ben scene!
"That Brendan's an eejit."
jacktangent They’re looking at a parallel universe. Father Ben is the parallel universe incarnation of Father Ted.
Father Damo. "He's not the boss of me," 😆
Oh God, what does he want now??
Father Dougal went onto become Detective Inspector Jack Mooney. My favourite,so far, DI in “Death in Paradise”
I love Father Ted. All the characters are brilliant, Mrs Doyle, Ted, and Douglas, even Father Jack. Hilarious.
I remember when this come out I was 13 everyone at my school loved it lol the good TV days 👍
You missed my favourite parts:
"Ted, isn't funny how sick people always end up in a hospital?"
"I'm no good at judging crowds, but I'd say there's about 17 million of them out there!"
Dougal you was wearing your red jumper!
I would never go under the hammer!
Oh 6 slices red, I couldnt eat 8. Does any one know what episode that's from ?
Using dougal's description of the beast, i wonder if anyone has attempted to draw it. It would be funny.
_Beautiful._
I once bought a painting of the beast.
Edit: turns out that was a mirror.
@@cactusguy4363 Actually that was a painting of me.
I love the boxes in the road gag it just keeps getting funnier.
First off the boxes just be there for no reason is funny. Then Ted slowly moves the across the road instead of driving through them and then he gets in his car and rams them anyway. Hilarious 😂🤣
funny when dougal roars at then old priest with the heart condition.
To be fair, it was the Director's Cut of _Aliens._ This is James Cameron we're talking about here.
Let’s all have a big lad’s night in!
If that line doesn’t show how much Dougal knows nothing about his own religion I don’t know what does
4:43
I shouldn't have laughed but I did. Hard. 🤣
Bishop: "If you can give me a bit of warning before you do anything sudden..."
Dougal: "AAARRRRRGGGHHH!! I'm sorry Ted I just remembered Aliens is on after the news."
You know what he is going to do but I literally cry laughing every time I watch it. So funny.
Dougal is such a childish, funny and cute character! He's adorable!
-him being so weird is what makes me love him to bits :D
i actually get called "Dougal" by my best friend because apparently i have the same personality as him.
'There's a dent there Ted'.
'Where?'
'Just there'.
'How did that happen?'
'It must have been when you hit that fella on his bike'
'He was fine. I saw him getting up'.
I completely forgot about that scene. thanks for uploading I've been in stitches!!
I introduced my son to Father Ted when he was home from primary school for two weeks with a chest infection. He loved it and it cheered him up no end. He is now 17 and just finished school. My brother and I have made many jokes about ‘a lovely horse,’ and when he bought a rural property, well, you can imagine. Hats off to my sister in law who has had to put up with many Lovely Horse jokes. I think small vs far away has to be my favourite line, and probably Speed Three and Song For Europe are my favourite episodes. I have not long ago shown my husband the ‘I hear you’re a racist now Father Ted,’ clip and he’s had a good laugh. Perhaps I will be able to convert him to being a Father Ted fan. I recently came across Derry Girls which I don’t thinks has ever been shown in Australia, and recommend it for any Australian Father Ted fans. It has the same out of left field humour.
I love how Ted has to stack the boxes in the same way. Such a waste of time lol.
They don't exist:
Loch Ness Monster
Frankenstein
Magnum P.I
*Non-catholic gods*
Darth Vader
Ahahahaha fair play lads
It's some of these little touches that just elevate the show

Hat Trick 🎩 thanks for reloading so I can sing "My Lovely Horse".
One of the greatest shows all time!
Bishop Jordan: It's not a problem, if you could just give us a warning if you're going to do anything sudden.
Dougal: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!
Ted: DOUGAL, WHAT ARE YE DOING?
Dougal: I just remembered that aliens is on after the news!
Omg! I loved watching Father Ted way back when i had BBC America on comcast
Can we take a moment to appreciate Dougal's He Man bed sheets at 8:48
I found this character yesterday. He’s absolutely hilarious. We apparently don’t have this in the U.S.
man i loved father ted since i was five years old, each year i watched it the show would get funnier, as i got older i would understand more and more of the more subtle jokes
Dougal's the best :)
I love this comedian so much. He was so cute and friendly and also funny back in the 90s even though I wasn't born then.
