    0:00 Herbs and antioxidants
    0:45 Herbs high in antioxidants
4:00 Bulletproof your immune system (free course!)
Today I'm going to cover the herbs that have the most antioxidants. Out of all of the categories of foods, herbs are at the top of this list as far as the antioxidants they provide. Antioxidants are additional health benefits to the vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients in food. This would also include phytonutrients.
Fresh herbs that contain the most antioxidants:
    1. Oregano
    • Oregano is antimicrobial
    2. Sage
    • Sage supports the parasympathetic nervous system and inhibits the sympathetic nervous system
    3. Peppermint
    • Peppermint may be good for your digestive system
    4. Thyme
    • Thyme is antimicrobial
    5. Lemon balm
    • Lemon balm may help calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and promote sleep
    6. Rosemary
    • Rosemary is antimicrobial, and rosemary oil may help stimulate hair growth
Powdered herbs that contain the most antioxidants:
    1. Clove
    • Clove is antimicrobial, it has powerful antiparasitic actions, and it has a numbing agent that might be beneficial for a toothache
    2. Allspice
    • Allspice can be good for pain and inflammation
    3. Cinnamon
    • Cinnamon can be especially good for blood sugar issues

I have been drinking tea with loquat leaf, olive leaf, firethorn leaf, green tea, cinnamon, lemongrass, galangal, turmeric root, and a single dried plum, everyday multiple refills, for several months, while on nutritional keto and IF. So far I have lost 28kg. The first 3 ingredients all help with blood sugar especially. I had IR and was borderline diabetic. Now doing much, much better. Never going back. I am 58 years young and getting younger.

You cannot fast 24 hours a day. If that was the case you’d not be eating at all. What you are doing is OMAD - one meal a day. It may take half an hour to an hour to eat as it’s going to be a fairly big meal. So, allowing time for the meal to work into the digestive process would give around 23 hours fasting time.

Clove essential oil has highest ORAC value.

What’s the dosage quantity for the data? Is it a teaspoon? A gram? Just wanting to know how much of whatever listed equals the antioxidant equivalent. Herbs are very powerful and if one consumes too many herbs or too much of a particular herb in at once, one can have adverse short-term reactions and some medications are sensitive to some herbs. One should always start with lower quantities of an herb to assess the effect on the body, before going with a larger dose.
Love the channel, and thank you in advance for your response.

Hi! Dr. Berg might recommend a type of supplement/nutrient but does not get into specifics - you'll need to do a bit more research on this.

Please use caution when taking herbs.
Check for any allergies (you can find the plant family these herbs are from).
Use as directed on package or in a tea form.
    Great info.

@ Shailin Nayanah I personally use a supplement called Anti-Fatigue (Hanna’s Herbs). I also use a Young Living essential oil blend called En-R-Gee along with Clarity, if I need to stay focused such as driving long distances. I have extreme caffeine sensitivity, so these are my go to’s.

dr. Berg I'd like to know which in your opinion are better fresh or dried? I prefer the dried in most cases...what are the advantages of fresh other than the phytonutrients that come from green leafy herbs

Rosemary, ginger, oregano, sage, thyme, mint, fennel, parsley tea. Not super tasty but it gets the job done.

You missed *Sumac* : c. ~312,400 μmol TE/100g H-ORAC , 2500 L-ORAC (higher than clove). Great for exercise induced muscle pain and blood sugar control.

This all-spice sounds a lot like what is called tea masala (herbs/powder). My tea masala here contains black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and nutmeg.
