I recently platinumed this game around Christmas time and it has to be one of my most favourite ones of all time. Everything about this game was so darn good from the alien Ai, music/sound design, visuals, plot and aesthetic from the movies. By far one of the best horror games ever made and i genuinely hope we get a sequel to this masterpiece
I liked the corporate feel of the game. The voices you hear on those audio tapes fit the tone perfectly.

How did you complete the game without dying? Can you chapter select?
@@juanvalles7473 i wouldn't trust chapter select as I can't remember if it was reliable for the one shot trophy. I'll recommend this, select novice difficulty and you should be able to finish the game in 5 hrs or less. In this difficulty you have more ammo/items to pick up, better health and the enemies are easier to sneak and escape from.
My biggest advice is that if you get close to dying from alien or enemies quickly press pause button and reload last save/autosave before the black death screen comes. STAY ALERT for the facehugger sections of the game as the deaths from them are fast and u can't pause the screen on time ending your no death run. Once you search and memorise where the facehuggers come from in sections of the game with youtube videos and use flame throwers for them u should be fine. Be patient and you will survive, good luck!

Alien Isolation still to this day one of the most gratifying games, for fans of the Alien franchise it was such a passion project
Since this is a top ten game of all time for me, I was beyond excited for this episode and it was worth the wait. I’m so happy you enjoyed it as much as it looks since a lot of people complain the game goes on for too long and loses its appeal when fighting the androids in the middle, but I never understood that. The whole game is just brilliant!

I understand the criticism of it going on too long, but the game never lost its appeal for me. Still a great world to explore and exist in. Now if only we could get a sequel :)

Well I for sure did not enjoy fighting the androids as it turns the game from a terrifying hide n seek to a slightly annoying metal gear ripoff. Could have done without them.

Omg I didn't know Alien Isolation was next! This is the first singleplayer game I ever played that left an impact on me. Till these days still one of my favourite games of all time with the Platinum in the pocket. Excited to watch this tonight!

Hey Adam, pretty cool behinds the development video on UA-cam you should watch. The Alien AI has 2 subsystems continuously running. 1 system gives the Alien your general location on the map, thats how the alien always shows up in the correct room. The other system "hunts" for the player in that area. This creates the "cat and mouse" chase where the alien is always in the general location the player is.

One of my favorite achievements or trophies was getting through this game without dying without using any glitches or shortcuts. Definitely made it to the end of the game a bunch of times and then would end up getting killed by a facehugger or something like that.
Came back to rewatch lol. It's so awesome coming to watch these again because my memory isn't that great and it's almost like I watch these new everytime 🤣

Brilliant stuff Adam. I was freaking around the 6min mark when you first encountered the Alien. I believe that this is one of the few games that when you make any noises with a PlayStation microphone (this case being your PS5 controller) the Alien would notice you. Possibly why that moment had it easily find you in bizarre ways. Either way another classic episode, cheers.

Probably my favourite horror game with Dead Space 1&2.
Underrated.
This comment will obviously not help you anymore but maybe some who have the same idea to platinum the game: You actually only "die" when the death animation is over. When you see the alien rip their tail through your body f.e. and you just load the last safe you didnt die yet. Helped me personally until the very end where I actually had a bug with a facehugger that instakilled me no matter what I tried. Was thinking about picking this game up again to finally platinum it myself.
PS: The game is at its best on ps4 (maybe 5 aswell) as the controller is used so well in this game. The green light and the same sounds as the tracker just immersed me so well into this game its unreal.

Futurama is one of my absolute favourite shows. I refuse to remove its box from the table even though it has nothing to do with the games I'm playing, haha.

I really liked seeing how happy Adam was playing this game. I’ve never played it, my parents probably won’t let me, but I like alien and this game looks awesome. But adam’s reaction to everything is class, it’s rare I’m able to see people feeling the same awe and love that I feel when I play a great game. Love this channel and this guy man.

I remember playing this back on my Xbox when I was like 8. Got to the medical bay section and hid In a locker. Last year I bought it right before Christmas, and my God it was just as scary as I remember. Beat it and definently on par with outlast on a scary level. Anyway great video man, and you deserve WAY more subs. And good luck on spiderman, it's a very easy platinum and really enjoyable.

Nice! I remember how annoying it was traveling throughout the game for all the collectibles. Defeating the game without dying was not as hard as I thought it would be. Definitely one of my fav 100%s! Great job, Adam. I miss viewing your videos.

@Adam McDermott thank you for another great video. Keep up the exceptional work that you are doing. If I remember correctly, the Xenomorph's AI is extremely well programmed to the point, where if you play the game on hard and it is near you and it hears the motion tracker, it can follow you and find you. That's why it located you in the locker early in the video. The Alien's AI is notoriously well programmed, and I always enjoy to play the game on hard or nightmare, because it is an exceptional thrill ride.

Scariest game I’ve ever played and was honestly relieved when it was over. The AI on the alien is probably the best I’ve seen in a video game.
The amount of time you spend on edge on this game is enough to make sure I never touch it xD Amazing video as always!

Great video, mate! Such an amazing game! About the “One Shot” trophy 🏆 - you can actually pause the game and load the current save before the death animation is finished and you’re forced to load the game. With the facehuggers there is no time to pause the game so you should load the previous save. It worked for me for the digital ps4 version 👌

Alien: Isolation absolutely delivered.
That’s crazy! I just got this platinum a few days ago and now you upload a platinum journey on it.

Something learned looking into this game is that the alien that follows you from chapter 2-10 was named "stompy" by the developers due to its footsteps being louder than the aliens from the nest also the aliens in the nest are much less relentless than stompy until you purge the nest at least.

I am 8 trophies away from the plat. Coming back to revisit this masterpiece. I tried going for all three gold at once, and let's just say I put the no dying trophy to the side and got the other two. I will be saving my no death playthrough on the story mode difficulty.

I had no idea the scanner showed the direction of your objective in the edges!! I kept checking the map all the time. This will encourage me to finish the game

I bought and sold this game 3 times before I completed it. I found it not fun at all, but extremely stressful. Once you complete it though you absolutely fall in love with it and I decided this was the first game I felt compelled to platinum and did it. It’s so good, so immersive, so damn frightening. I never feel scared watching horror films but this game, mostly thanks to the sound design, is absolutely terrifying at times. Also they’ve just released it on phones now, which is absolutely crazy!

I enjoyed this well-made video, Adam. Your editing style is great, simple, clean, effective. I started this game years ago but was too afraid back then and not stress-resistant enough. I am not sure if I ever go back to it. (I even sold the game.)

@@AdamMcDermott It was a mixture between being scared and being frustrated. You said it in your video: The Alien (almost) knows too well where the player is.
(My third and second to last Platinums in 2021 were Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, both took me 10 years. So never say never. :D)
