I don't know how you guys get the patience to do this. Kojima is horrible with trophies
2 remains the hardest. 4 was just time consuming.
Oh I know, I have the platinum in all MGS games ( well almost all I haven't played Revengeance ) and I agree about MGS2 although getting the big boss emblem in MGS4 is more than just time consuming it requires key knowledge on enemy A.I, placement, boss weaknesses and of course great use of your non lethal arsenal(which means skill)

One thing that goes under appreciated in Adam’s videos is his ability for contextual storytelling. Even as somebody who has never played MGS4, I can immediately get a grasp on everything happening in each scene thanks to Adam’s ability to fill in the blanks with his script writing. Amazing work!

I'm not sure if it was mentioned in the video but MGS4 was released prior to trophies / achievements being a thing on the PS3 and were added 4 years after MGS4 released. Could explain why the platinum requirements on this one is so high, given that the only people still playing it were the hardcore fans.
I didn't mention it. Thought folks knew about it getting trophy support after release. MGS2 trophy list is also tough. MGS3 is handy. Kind of all over the place.

Also, when are you planning to do the RE3 episode? Resident Evil has been on my mind after the RE4 remake trailer released - what were your thoughts on that if you've seen it?
RE3 is planned for later this summer. The remake trailer looked weird to me, like the characters were kind of squished. Want to see more.
It's 48/50, ah, it hurt me too. Because I just finished the game where I had to collect the discs. And I missed the one and only one, by accident. The next game would be a speedrun. And in such a case, I have to play again, doing EVERYTHING again (sometimes the reward is a disc), and only the third playthrough will be speedrun and platinum. So it hurts me too, 48/50.

Just found your channel, I bought a Ps Vita from japan to finish MGS 2 Plat. I didn’t complete it when I was 15 and it has been eating away at me missing only one trophy which is the Virtually impossible. Your videos give me the motivation to try and finish what I couldn’t 12 years ago.

The great thing about MGS4's Big Boss Emblem, is it is very lenient with saves. You can make it a whole lot easier by constantly saving. Iirc, you can't do that in MGS2. MGS2's Big Boss rank may be the hardest of all of them.
Congrats, man. Even as a trophy hunter, Metal Gear Solid 4 was one of the games where I decided early on I wouldn't be going for the platinum. It just wasn't worth it in my eyes. For as great as the game is, I feel like trophies should be either an extension of what a game already expects of the player, or a means of encouraging exploration. Some of them are, but too many expect ridiculous, arbitrary nonsense that just pads out the trophy list. It felt like they didn't really know what to put when they patched the trophies into a later version, so they just made it needlessly difficult.
If they took out the four repetitive stat-driven playthrough it would border on a good list.
Really a fan of mgs4 played over 20-30 times got the platinum but not recorded. Awesome content bro 🎉🎉

Grindy games are always way worse than hard games anyways congrats Adam i would never could do this i think your next game should be a more relaxing one like Ratchet and clank 2016 or crash bandicoot 3 i dont know well edited video btw. Wow, this video was entertaining af. It didn’t feel like 50 minues. More than 10 to 15 minutes. But always premium quality. I felt your pain from my comfortable chair (while playing Immortals: Fenyx rising for the 2nd time because an end game trophy bugged). I have no connection to MGS in any shape o’ form (other than playing MSG V for a few hours and found out that it is not my cup of tea). But this Platinum journey was captivating from start to finish. I tip my hat and say: Congratulations, Adam. Well done, fellow trophy hunter!

The greatest disappointment, possibly of my whole life is the save I had for Big Boss Extreme, I got to Ocelot. I was getting more and more frustrated with it, so I said "right, i'll comeback in a week and complete it, when it's not 3am.."
In that week, my PS3 got the Yellow Light of Death, which also corrupted my HDD.
As much as I love MGS4, I have at least 8 play throughs.. I just thought "yep.. not happening". So I tell myself "i've kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiind of completed it on extreme.. but not really.."

I'd say MGS2 is harder because of the VR missions. Some seem legitimately impossible at times.

It was a fun challenge for me and I wish could re-earn all MGS platinum trophies again on my main account; Get me some MGS 2-4 Remasters for PS4 or PS5!!

Well done! I’m right in the middle of this challenge too (4 runs in). The Boss Extreme is really tough, but feels so good when you do it. You can find out your stats at any time by checking past meeting briefings to pin point which save you need to go back to if you make a mistake

The Motorcycle part was a nightmare for me. Hands down the worst part of a Big Boss title run. That and the final battle between Liquid and SS. I found dodging whilst next to the Out-of-Bounds causes Snake to have a moment of invincibility.
I did big boss first for the stealth and bandana which made the kill and hold up requirements super easy.
Really good video, had a lot of fun watching it.
It brought me back to when I used to platinum games, but I never attempted MGS4 due to everyone saying how difficult it was.

This game didn't have Trophies for years after launch. Seems like those were the good old days.
Man I wanna do this platinum so bad on my main PSN account I just didn’t wanna do the PS now version because I don’t have a PS3 lol I don’t care how hard people say this is I love Metal Gear Solid so much I want a platinum for all of them well all the ones it’s possible to get one for i already have Ground Zeros and MGSVTPP I need all of them except for that trash survive and Revengeance all though revengeance was pretty good it’s just not a real Metal Gear Solid game in my opinion

Personally I've achieved the big boss ranking in this game. I wouldn't suggest playing on easy over and over is good practice for the boss extreme. Probably why the player had no idea how to navigate during the boss extreme play through. You gotta crawl on your stomach almost the entire time. They'll never hear or see you. The true challenge in the boss extreme is non lethally defeating bosses such as Raging Raven and The Sniper boss.
I think I got all these before the trophy's came out except, Boss extreme full stealth run.
Gotta say I miss MGO, playing with real plays makes the Boss extreme a walk in the park. God I miss MGO.

Oh yeah, big boss emblem, fun. First time almost failed by having only 4 minutes left to 5h. Really some difficulty moments, especially the bike chase. But so rewarding if you made it finally

I've finished my Big Boss run when I was going to get this Platinum. After you get Big Boss emblem, there's no return, it isn't fun to go around shooting people anymore... You have to pass each area on pure stealth.
I think the episode is a bit too long😅but still wonderful

The sneaking man in Act 3 is a nice Easter egg, it's actually comprised of 3 "hand bots" on top of each other wearing a man's clothes, I can't remember where I found that out tbh, thought there was a cutscene showing it
I hated when the trophy patch came out. I deadass did ALL OF THIS on ps3 out of love for the series and trying to get that "Big Boss" rank
