Hi Jon - thanks for this playthrough ... well done, as usual. A few things that should be noted, though: At 1:24:00, the taproot cannot summon from within the fortress gate. Only a few talents (Elfin, Unruly, Roost) are active inside the fortress gate. A little later, the war briar cannot attack from inside the fortress gate. At 1:35:00, when you use the builder skill, you add a range upgrade when flipping to a siege tower. Unlike upgrading heroes, the builder talent does not add any upgrade chips (unless adding an upgrade is all it's doing).

I'll admit there I was a bit worried for you during that last onslaught given just the number of summons the Grove Tender player kept throwing your way, thank goodness for the forced 'camping' rule. I must say it's nice how the different factions truly do have unique play styles, the Brawnen seem to rely on massive Source income for towers and improvements and using fewer but tougher units while the Grove Tenders just go absolutely nuts with the summoned minions and attempt to swamp opposition through raw numbers. Pity you weren't able to show all the factions but that would have been just an utterly ridiculous and unreasonably long demonstration. Despite the rules errors at times, I'd say you did a great job demonstrating the overall nature and flow of the game. Great video as always.
At 19:59 you said "Awsh has survivability which lets him to plus one damage to landmark minions." I think you meant to say "hunter" here :) Great video, helped me learn the game alot
Good note, thanks! It looks like I fixed this off camera because that Taproot was flipped once it was revealed. I still added a note to the Klingon subtitles.
In the last wave you forgot to use the splash ability! You always remembered when you decided not to used it but then when it could have been really effective you forgot ahah! But you've done a great job since it seems there a lot of little things to track! Nice playthrough!
At 33:20 it is claimed that Leech only gets applied after retaliation, but i cannot find a rule that says that is the case. For reference, leech says “when this unit attacks or retaliates, it may recover health equal to the damage dealt”. I dont see a timing restriction in the rulebook, FAQ, or ability
I was confused by leech and did a google search about it which lead me to this comment on BGG: boardgamegeek.com/article/32995197#32995197 . Shannon is an official source so I went with this interpretation.
Good catch, this is in fact an illegal play we do and it's a very impactful on with all the splash damage I dealt out :-\ Maybe explains part of why we won by such a large amount!
Great video. A question: 38:55 - Event Card: The card says "effects from this event will remain active until all health is acquired"..... so should a new event card have even been drawn in the next wave (at 1:15:00 ?).
My interpretation of that card is that you still gain the health that was placed even if it's a future wave and the event that put them on there is covered up by a new event.
Thanks! You know this game is complex when this many mistakes needed to be corrected. I appreciate the teach. Quite a few non corrected errors. Ive seen 3 between the 1 hour and 1hr 7 min mark.
Glanced at "Brick and Mortars" and imediately went Rick and Morty;o) Great playthrough and explanation! Looks like a mix of Mechs vs. Minions and Mage Knight. Love Hoplo, Triplock and TMB and this seems also up my alley, thx.
I never actually played this one really, just this pseudo-play for the video. Honestly I was overwhelmed by the options and fiddly autonomous movement and ultimately wasn't interested in playing it with others.
@@JonGetsGames Probably it seems more fiddley because you were playing two factions. Seems like at least on PvP play would give you a better impression.
I actually don't think he did. I think he might have replayed the turn and accidentally left it in, because you can see the Duelist is back to four health and the Aegis at 3. I'm guessing what happened is he realized he could do the ranged attack first, then kill with the aegis for no retaliate damage.

DianeMountford do you have a source for that first part? Page or FAQ that can be used for reference?

DianeMountford ah it’s on page 16.
Didnt actually notice that

I'm glad you enjoyed it despite the errors. This one was a beast to take on, it took quite a bit longer to make than average.
Best play through/teach on UA-cam. I hope you get to do a burncycle video Jon.
Thanks! At this point I think that is unlikely though, I haven't heard anything from the publisher about potentially covering it.

01:01:04 Could you have targeted the Treed and made the kill with the Splash damage?
Ahh same again at 01:29:45 and you missed the splash entirely.
Game looks fantastic. Love both MOBAs and Tower defense.
30:04 . shouldn't the Vineherald be able to retaliate for 1 damage to the dispatch, since it has a range of 2, too?. This also happens at 1:07:15
At 15:20, the Taproot should be upgraded after summoning the warbriar. Great playthrough, thanks!

Dang, oh well it seemed like it still worked out well for us :) I'm glad you enjoyed it.

the best youtuber
At 12:30 you may not choose to leave your hero in the fortress
1:35:00 Can u range attack the shrubbery? Or what did Cover mean?
Wondering the same thing. Also if you can but it does no damage, can the splash still damage?
jebmak splash damage doesn’t affect spires.

I've been scouring your channel to see if you had made an impressions video for this game. What did you think Jon?
I never actually played this one really, just this pseudo-play for the video. Honestly I was overwhelmed by the options and fiddly autonomous movement and ultimately wasn't interested in playing it with others.

54:20 You resolved Aegis' attack twice in a row

Just got to this part. If you look at the Aegis health he backtracks the move for a more optimal one. Quick cut.
It's pronounced aegis.
