I don't own a kiln so I take my pieces to a pottery studio close by and get it fired in an electric kiln there. Hence I won't be able to make a video on that. Sorry
There isn't any rule enforced here. You can work on any number, any design as you please. But if you are looking at a particular bead, of any style, any design you don't have to work on them one at a time. Make them in batches. I don't work on one pendant, then make beads for it. I might make about twenty thirty pendants, make beads of a different variety in bulk and store it. Btw, it's only a suggestion, not a rule! :)
Hie which clay you are using? Is it air dry clay? If u are using air dry clay then which brand you are using? I you using normal teracotta clay then which brand you are using plz tell me
I use natural clay. Low fire earthen ware clay to be more specific . This needs to be fired in an electric kiln to make it durable and usable . Look clay station or Clay Joy in Bangalore. Both are pottery studios and both provide firing facilities too.
While I am aware of people who try firing at home using crude methods, I don't suggest as the results are not as desired and its strength is a big question mark. Please don't use an equipment meant for food to fire clay. It's unhealthy and I don't think it'll work as the temperatures don't go beyond a point.
Add some water to your clay. Knead it first a few times. Let the clay become pliable. If you are finding it difficult to put a hole with a refill, try a tooth pick. Sometimes on a warmer weather your clay dries quickly. You can try doing then one by one instead of doing it batch wise.
Terracotta jewellery is always made from natural clay which requires to be fired in order for it to be used. You cannot call it terracotta jewellery if it's made with air dry clay :)

Clay has a tendency to to shrink a little when it dries. It's common. When the moisture in the clay dries out, it shrinks a little. It shrinks a little more after firing. The average shrinkage rate in my clay is approx 8-12%. With regard to cracks, that could be due to quick drying or using hard clay. You can softening the clay by kneading it a few times. Then you can try making the bead. In the video i have showed how to make them. After cutting out the size, add a few drops of water and start making the bead. That way the clay would not dry fast. While making a hole you can apply a little oil on a refill and make the hole. Hope this helps.

Mam I did like this it's very useful actually...but my clay is breaking while am putting whole...y that kind??
Maybe its a warmer climate, so it could be drying quicker. You can start with a single or two beads at a time and see if that helps.
Very beautiful
