That's such a motivating and encouraging feedback. Thank you so very much. Happy that my work is recognizable. Thank you so much once again to you and your son!
Hello! I have never done firing at home. The most trusted method for firing is an electric kiln as the temperatures can be exactly determined. Unless you have a Pyrometer to measure the temperature I am not sure how one fires these at home.
@@nehagopinathpillai thank you.. I was taught to bake it in home using saw dust and charcoal .. so that the product comes black after baking. But I too was not aware of the difference btwn these two baking
I use low fire earthen ware clay which I buy from a pottery studio close by. You can look it up online or a pottery /ceramic studio near you. Thank you!
Nice 👌🏻 What r the ingredients u used to make the terracotta clay dough?? Is it water proof?? One could really make a lantern by using these beads & hang it above a terracotta pot that has got a nice plant. It will look really awesome when lighted. Yup!? ❤️ Mumbai India 🇮🇳
Thank you so much for the suggestion. I don't make clay. I buy my clay. I use low fire earthen ware clay and it needs to be fired in a kiln to be usable.
@@nehagopinathpillai OK. So u buy readymade clay. By any chance do u know whether I can use air dry terracotta clay that is available in market or not?? & is it water proof?? & does it 2 need 2 be fired in a kiln?? ❤️ Mumbai India 🇮🇳
@@parikhspiecederesistance3958 I haven't used air dry clay, so I may not be the right person to give you an opinion on that. When I use to live in Bangalore I would my clay from a studio called Clay Joy owned by Mr Ramanuja. You can also look up clay station, Bangalore. Both are pottery studios in Bangalore and both studios sell clay and both provide firing facilities. You can look for pottery or ceramic studios in your area. The clay apt for terracotta jewellery is fine low fire earthen ware clay .
If you have a kiln then yes. I am not aware of any other methods. I don't own a kiln so I take my pieces to a pottery studio close by and get it fired in an electric kiln.
Hello mam I tried making it but after when it gets dry small visible crack is there Please suggest what should I do ? Should I paint them and hide it. Also want to mention I am using air dry clay which I purchase online
Well that's a good question. The qty of clay with be equal when you measure in the jhumka mould, but when you make it you have to try to get it equal. But it does come with practice. :) the round beads comes mostly in equal sizes. These designer beads would require some practice :)

Hello mam. I hv a doubt whether all the beads will be of equal size. I mean top part of the bead.

Where do u buy ur clay and for firing at home what we should do
You may purchase fine terracotta clay from Clay Joy or Clay Station in Bangalore.
Take it to a pottery studio close by that provides firing services. I wouldn't recommend firing at home unless you have a kiln.
Super
