Watching people like you has inspired me to work on my own guitars, a purchased a cheap Peavy from a pawnshop and a bullet. I have learned how to do the basic maintenance thanks!
I bought one based on this video alone. Straight out of the box it needed to be tuned of course, but the action and intonation are near perfect. The fret ends are fine on mine. Crazy how they’re making these things so cheap and playable. I’ll use it to record some with, but this would be ideal for a kid needing a cheap guitar to start out on. The tiny amp included is pretty loud too. Enough for a beginner.
For you people about my age, Joe Trohman of Fall Out Boy plays lead on a Tele primarily. I have a custom Carvin based on the thing that makes Teles rock, which is sustain, and pickups mounted at the extremes of the body (well, on the place where the strings pass over it anyway) to allow a lot of tonal versatility.
There are many tele rockers the Boss, James Burton, Brad Paisely, robbie Robertson, not to mention Keith Richard's. Roy Buchanon, and Jimmy Page used a Tele, GW Smith. Randy Bachman
I got an $89 guitar from them. I took everything off of it except the neck and the body locking tuners fender pick ups from the factory in Korea a bridge not a string through body sounds bad ass.
So you got the surprise buy 1, get 1 deal?! Sweet! Who wouldn’t love that?! Looks like a great buy for $119. That would make for a great mod project! I only wish the pickups weren’t microphonic. That’s the one let down. However, it wouldn’t cost someone too much to get a properly wound, potted pickup that would fix that issue. I also hate when they stain wood. That’s gonna wear off on the fingers for a while. Not sure why they bother when the stain usually ends up coming off. Great find! Catch you later! 😱😱😱😱😱
Howdy Sean. Dave in Rhode island here. Been playing and buying since 1965. Love the show. Was wondering if you could do a video on a Tagima guitar. See if they're any good" keep up the great work!
Mr. Bonamassa is correct. The tele is hands down the most versatile guitar ever built. I don't know how, but it is. I'd think a strat would be more versatile, but it just isn't. Go figure.
I think they say that the name is Music "As Muse". I remember one el cheapo guitar that had vicious fret bite, but after a couple of weeks in a more humid environment the neck swole back to size and it felt pretty good. Question- instead of jumping straight to the fret file, would you hammer down the fret? Love a good microphonic pickup, strings AND PERCUSSION! and Shred!
The description on Amazon says the body AND the neck are poplar, I wonder if the neck will warp or twist after a while. I don't think I've ever played a neck made out of that. Great video, see you all this evening have a great day !!!
Good video man. Heck a good neck and body unfinished costs more than one of those guitars. So if ya want to build one, buy one or a similar one at that price and do your own thing with it.
Ordered after watching the video. Just one came. However, the tuners were tight and the fret sprout was minimal. Also couldn't get them to make all those cool noises that they made with the microphonic pickups. @@vasectomyfail442
I'd have to sand the neck down & get that black off the neck, but I'd leave the neck face and seal the neck satin smooth and change out the pups & electronics with some Seymour Duncan P90 Phat Cats Set Humbucker Size after routing the bridge body to a Humbucker Size. I'd satin or gloss over the Front Headstock face. I know the neck pup would be ok to go with a Single Coil Sized Pickup & Phat Cat P90 Bridge Humbucker will cancel hum of a Single Coil Neck Pickup because it's coils are Reverse Wound. I already have plenty of pickup choices. I could go with a Single Coil or even a such sized SD Rails or a SD 59' Humbucker in the Neck Position or Other. I only have one Semi-Hollow that is Black finished satin back of Neck Oscar Schmidt brand & it plays and sounds as well as my Gibson. Thanks for another Fine Video SEAN. How can I reach you for guitar works or to have a neck refretted or made for me ??? Those were some seriously noisy pups for sure !!! Play On FretBro's . . . 👍🆒🎸🤘🎼☺️🇺🇸🙏 DDH 2-14-2024.
I own the red ormsby looking asmuse and the blue lp asmuse and love them , the necks had some rough edges but a nail file did the job . And they sound good , great for the price and they look rad! Perfect for modding I've had them for about six months I think now and I'm fine with the pickups but I do eventually want to get some hotter modern chuggyier lol pickups for them , asmuse rocks for budget beginner guitars or mod guitars !

Not particularly a T-type guy, but those look pretty cool. I like the black hardware. I really like the price. There really has never been a better time to buy an electric guitar.
You don't have to pay , you can watch it free when it's live. I've watched it a few times live and the last one was actually free a couple days later....
Actually when I went to watch last Saturday I got a message saying that I had to be a member... and who doesn't want to be a part of the live experience. Not wait a couple of days
@@adambrower7038 Hey man I'm just telling you what I experienced , if you want to pay to watch something that will be free in a couple days that's up to you. I just ordered a Wilkinson kit guitar..because it'll be fun to do and I think it will sound amazing if I do it right. I think the days of expensive branded guitars are in a bit of trouble frankly
That is black chrome, and it is electrically conductive plating. Powder coat doesn't, in my experience, have mirror gloss. They didn't sound too bad. it wasn't all that long ago that if you paid $119 for a new guitar it would be unplayable out of the box and never get all that much better no matter how much work is put into it. Now if only the big brand American companies would get on the ball and make sure their guitars are on par with some of these affordable ones.

I would change out the tuners and drop a couple of Kathy’s pickups on them and that would be one heck of a guitar! Sweet getting 2 for one.
