The first vipers sounded horrid like a giant fart can that had been magnified 1000 times , they have made great improvements in the stock sound let alone aftermarket sound .
"This isn't a car I'd want to spend a lot of time in, but this is where I wanna be if I'm gonna be anywhere." That makes no sense, and yet, I understood it perfectly.
yeah this car is a very underrated drivers car and it also has super car theatre. it would be so ironic if after they stop production people start realising how special this thing was and start buying them causing the prices to go up haha
@@dyslexiusmaximus Here we are, it's 2021 and that is in fact what's happening. I always liked them and as it happens, will be picking up one in about 3 weeks. GenV and have no plans to ever let it go.

I'm a turbo guy typically, but the GT350 and the Viper are the pinnacle of NA cars imo. Both cars handle fantastically, have incredible motors, and are fun cars.
Thank you Matt for giving the Viper the respect it deserves, I'm so tired of people hating on this car. I've never driven or ridden in one but I would love to some day since I love them. They may not be the best road cars, but they're just so impressive on the track and they're not overly modern to the point where they do everything for you like so many supercars today. The Viper is among the last, true driver's cars left today, and I'm sad they're discontinuing it again. Do I think it will return again someday? Yes I do, but in order to sell more I think Dodge does need to make it a more comfortable car for the street instead of it being basically a race car. If they can figure out a way to do that, keep it feeling analog, and not sacrifice the performance, it would be perfect. Few cars have half the personality of the Viper. Now that the Hellcat has stolen it's spotlight though as far as power goes and having the complete package, they would definitely have to revisit the Viper and make it more worth the price in the eyes of people who aren't necessarily looking for a track car or are comparing it to say a Z06.
Sounded like you started not really liking the car, but quickly changed your mind. Good for you ant it really looked like a well mannered street racer. Thanks for the vid.
Vipers were my dream car as a teenager. Over the past few years my fondness has been dwindling because of all the other new exotics coming out. Your videos, especially, have shined light upon my lost love. And I am in love once again.
Guys, guys. I think she is saying that they're rare on the road because the crowd that buys these kinds of cars typically buy Corvettes because people are stupid. That being said, almost every Viper owner I know is on their 30's.
That Viper apparently has the Arrow PCM/ECU. You could hear it popping as he drove back onto the pits. That mod does as much for the car as anything, as the stock tune is conservative and leaves a lot of responsiveness on the table.
turbo people be like 'a car needs to have at least one turbo to be fast in a straight line.' ... well.. or a ridiculously big engine like the Viper has
Matts a great driver probly could even race competitively at a track ..Anyway awsome car but if I got one of these all I would get is a tune and exhaust with those 2 mods alone on this car your basically unbeatable on the highways
I remember hearing that, 16 cylinders and 4 turbos makes for a thirsty car. Imagine if they were running on E85. Probably drink the tank in under 10 min?
you guys should get a high speed drone to get some next level footage. or add some pov stuff. keep it fresh. dont get me wrong i love what you guys do, keep up the great work. :)
yeah the /Drive stuff is dope af just not the the same high volume of content as one take. i wish netflix or someone could pick up one take and make it a high dollar production. that would be dope! has matt had any luck finding a gt350R yet? i have a fully loaded regular 2017 gt350 on order i cant wait till it gets here!!! if you guys ever come to ny i'd love to have you guys take it for a drive. it prolly wont arrive till early next year.
From what I've heard this gen is NOT as scary. It's a really competent platform for track work out the box. The other Vipers need a lot of work to get there and even then the inherent squirrelliness is still there with them.
Still no Death Fiero? Love Vipers! Too bad they're killing them off this year. They should redesign them to be Mid-engine and give two engine options, the 6.2 Hellcat motor to attract new buyers, and keep the V10 for the purists that have bought a few Vipers over the years. Sad to see such an awesome car go away after all these years.
Does that viper have the same problem as the vipers from the following years with getting extremely hot in the cabin due to how you basically sit ontop of the engine
I love these things. The design language is directly inspired by the ancient "School of Fuck You". Everything about these cars proclaims that philosophy. The sound, the looks - Hell the designers even made it uncomfortable for normal use! Just stunning. It is the Zero Fucks Given philosophy with some Panache to boot ...

I don't understand why so many people hate the sound of that v10. I find it beautiful
I couldn't imagine this car with any other sound, it would be wrong, its too iconic now.
High rpms are the solution.
superretardmario, how does that even make sense?

it's unique above all. nothing sounds like this, even though it's obviously not the best v10 noise ever..

I love this car. I love its sound, its unapologetic 8.4 liters, its looks, its power. I cant wait to own one.
The Legend says that there is a guy talking in the video. But the Viper is just wiping his voice out because fuckin 8.4 V10 monster.
BC racecar

the fact that matt of all people says "dude im just gonna keep lapping it" says it all. awesome one take!
The viper is one of the only cars from the usa that i love and would like to own. the v10 sound is amazing
Matt, you can officially say you play a music instrument
I also play guitar!

Oh god...
+invinciblejets hahah ;)
Calling it "bae" completely strips it of its manliness. Way to go.
So true, One of the reason I bought one

awesome. cant imagine how much fun he had in that thing. would love to have a TA. nice driving too man, good job.

my favorite car on the planet.... to be exact my favorite car is the Gen 5, 2015 Viper GTS with TA Aero kit and hood
I work for a CJDRF dealer so I see these all the time but I still cant get enough. Gotta love them vipers.
I watch these 1st thing in the morning. Makes Mondays so much better. Thank you sir!
Sure no track records but stock the TA is ~3s faster around Laguna Seca than a GTR and ~2s faster than a GTR Black Edition. Still gnarly.
I understand what he was going through around those corners. I was lucky enough to drive a viper many years ago.
I love the Viper. I love it so much. If I could, I would totally buy one new. I would have years ago. The 96 GTS is still my favorite.
God, that thing sounds glorious.
Future Classic, i can see people lusting after these even now.
This has been one of my favorite One takes.
He's got that giant engine with more than 600 horsepower and still says "Go, go, go!!"? Must be nice..
Right 😂😂
That's literally the feeling 2 weeks later when you add a new part to your car
Truth, lol
Someone doesnt have the addiction to speed
I like the new intro! Great way to get your name and company out to first time viewers
matt your downshifts are perfect
The Victor Racing wing stabilizes ride to glide swiftly😍😍😍
Wow, the viper sounds exotic! Very nice..
I've got on some big headphones and loved hearing it idle, even.
On track videos especially it would be so sweet to have a mini view of the gauge cluster.
What a car, 8.4l of V10, just because why not! I don't think there is much else quite like it, a true modern classic. Great video.
the viper got a nice sound that i love!
love it, the thing is nuts
I just spotted a guy in a Dodge Viper ACR the other day and it was the loudest thing I have ever heard
