Glad to have finally found a HVAC guy in the uk. I do the same job in and around london, been qualified 2years now. Mostly service, small installs here and there. Love the videos from Uk. I am a hvac tech that deals with a lot of Daikin units as well. I'm out here in the coast of California. I like that you are calm and chill working on these units. I'm totally opposite of that when getting calls on these units. These are a different beast I tell you. Even after a couple Daikin training classes, I still get frustrated when dealing with these units. There are just too many electronics and sensors on these things than I'm used to. Feels real good after you get them up and operating again tho. Sometimes I'm on the job for more than 5-6 hrs troubleshooting these vrv systems. Anyways thanks for sharing your videos and keeping us informed. Keep them coming!
Good one to look out for, the power cable from the inverter board to the compressor rubs on one of the pipe stubs and causes an intermittent inverter fault. Best to cable tie all them cables up 👍🏻

That trick with the flush cutters - you can do that with a normal pair of sidecutters. However there's a bit of a trick to it. You hold them on an angle, flush on the side of the tie that ratchets and maybe a third down on/over the "knuckle" on the other side. Bit hard to explain over text, but the idea is the jaw of the sidecutters on the knuckle can't cut as easy so it's held somewhat stationary, and then the other jaw slices the tail of the tie off. Also leaves a flush edge, and means you don't need an extra set of cutters.
Great video, exactly the same equipment I work on here in Australia. I had a leak on the solenoid valve at the rear of the unit. Pain in the ass to change. But I was getting an LC error too, the unit had lost its refrigerant charge. In your experience, does the LC error pop up when their are leaks? Most service unfriendly designed systems on the planet. Don't care what anyone says. Chilled water / heating hot water over VRV / VRF any day of the week. Way to complicated for what they are and they effectively become a specialist type of system.
Daikin, the most unnecessary over complicated A/C units on the planet. As much as I can appreciate the Error codes display, why is it necessary to have over 100 different error codes? And each error code comes with a submenu of things to check..I mean a A/C unit is supposed to Heat and Cool,,that’s it,,not send a man to the moon! God I miss the days when an A/C unit fault was either a faulty compressor, faulty condenser fan, faulty Indoor fan, HP or LP fault or faulty thermostat controller.. I work on all makes of A/C units and by far the Daikin units are the most complex. I went out and bought the Daikin Bluetooth checker tooth and even that is so glitchy. And let’s not mention that 9 times out of 10, The Inverter board needs to be replaced alongside the compressor and condenser fans on a VRV3 unit,,generally close to a $4k job..
They come from the Japanese market originally of course. Having lived and worked there (and speak the lingo which helps understand a different way of thinking) it makes much more sense in a culture which does things “by the book”, leaves little room for individual autonomy and problem solving. A lot rote learning in schools means service techs are far happier being told what to do and relying on very prescriptive, detailed error codes and associated work instructions. I love Daikin kit though. Have three units in my house even, so do put my own money where my mouth is! By the way, if there’s a D1 installer who covers Hampshire, please let me know as I need an indoor unit replacing and everyone seems to have a big labour shortage now so I can’t get an Fgas tech to do a “small” job :-( Love the vids, please keep, posting.

As for my qualifications 12th + 2 years diploma from private institute and as to percentages of 12th exam marks is 48% and GPA of diploma is above 70% so is it acceptable marks to get into in any institute in UK? And I'm 28 years old.
By the way, if there’s a D1 installer who covers Hampshire, please let me know as I need an indoor unit replacing and everyone seems to have a big labour shortage now so I can’t get an Fgas tech to do a “small” job :-(
Love the vids, please keep,posting.
