Hey mate great video, I'm a fourth year apprentice in Australia and have picked up alot of handy VRV tips off you, had lots of dramas with inverter compressors
Thanks, brilliant video. More Daikin stuff would be great. You’re very thorough and professional and it’s good to see. Too many clueless cowboys around
Good to check eev heads on outdoors as I've had them crack and leak over the years. Also like to do mode 21 to zero valves again when servicing. Keep up the good videos 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Please Can make step by step video covering. refrigerant recovery , remove compressor, fit new one, vacuum, charge and commission system.(this full steps of F-GAS) some newbies like me needs this and will be viewed by millions.thanks
The two 4 way valves can give issues on VRV3’s, done a couple of them, also the heat exchanger and sub cool valves on the outdoor unit, changed loads of them.
I've had the same little magnetic dish for a long time , served me well indeed . Really jealous of that Milwaukee jacket though , unfortunately here it's online only and very expensive. I would definitely get my drill in the tool bag with an 8mm magnetic nut driver bit for the drill . Good vid mate 👍
The magnetic dish is the one 👌🏼 The Jacket is so good mate, especially this time of the year when your on a roof all day 🥶 I’m definitely getting the drill back in the bag, I took it out thinking I’d save weight but takes way too long getting into units with a screwdriver 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ Thanks for watching mate 👍🏼👍🏼
What method do you use to check EEVs, on Daikin Vrvs,,? I would try a Set 21 to force open valves and use my hand to feel for vibration , and sometimes I would remove the heads and get a visual of the screw turning,,, but,, as I’ve found out, even if the head vibrates it may still not be winding in or out fully,, I asked an on site Daikin tekky what he does ,expecting him to tell me that he can confirm the status on his data analyser but he said nope,, He also said winding the heads out when not connecting to the valve may cause it to continuously wind out and may effect the setting and cause damage to the mechanism itself,,, So I asked him again “ so how do you test then mate”,,? His answer was “Daikin recommend all EEVs be changed every 6 years “,,, What kinda cop out is that ? Do you have any tips or tricks for testing of EEVs ?
You should make a video on Kata check a branch selector Box for a badd EXV and/or how to said Brian selector Box port numbers now would be very insightful thank you
New subscriber, great videos mate ! For me, I always just check the amperage for cchtr's. Just my way, not judging 👍 I've always done it that way. Keep up the great content. Fluke 324/325 have great resolution on amps.
so this is what a maintenance really is if only someone had shown me how to checked to system to run checks also is the mobile bluetooth daikin tool used for the same checks?
goodevening from ph i have a vrv IV newly changed compressor and it keeps showing F4 fault code (Outdoor Liquid Backflow) i changed already thermistor but still f4
Would you be able to do a video of how your recharging your older vrv systems that don't have auto charge? I'm guessing with a Daikin you put it into mode 21 and charge into discharge pipework using reclaim rig?...
Wow love the channel, we are seeing more and more Daikin in the states and have taken a few training classes but don't work on them regularly. Got one that keeps throwing a J2 error for current abnormality. On service checker I can see discharge temps slowly rising and amperage going up, now I'm wondering if that capillary is plugged up and oil not making it back in the compressor. Any tips?
Yes mate I’ve still got the Velocity, still going strong ! To be honest I switch my setups/bags all the time 😂🤦🏻♂️ I haven’t got the Tech Pac MC, the bags in this vid are the Tech MCT and Tech Pac, both great bags mate👌🏼
To be honest most of the kit I work on is Mitsubishi Electric and Daikin. I do work on anything but these seem to be the two manufacturers I come across the most 👍🏼👍🏼
@@hvacuk8975 from your videos especially the daikin equipment you work on is the same as the equipment I work on here in South Africa. So it shouldn't be a huge transition for me should I move to the UK for a short while 😉
Hi yes I am. The only thing that would be a transition for me is the daikin software as Daikin South Africa don't sell private companies their service checkers. I would need a course on the service tool and analysis.
For the last five years I have been using the CPS Torque Wrench Set with separate jaw attachments and the Hilmor Manual orbiter slip clutch flaring tool. Here in the states there are so many tools coming out with battery powered flaring tools and digital torque wrench’s, I didn’t know if I should start modernizing my tools or if these new tools are just hype
@@superiorcomfortheatingairl3373 I know what you mean. I quite like the manual tools to be honest (must be getting old 😂) although the digital torque spanner does look good. I think I’d consider one if I did a lot of installs. I did try the Spin flaring tools that go in your battery drill but I didn’t get on with them to be honest.
Tidy video mate as always. Literally have just been working on 6 of these this week. Found crank case heaters in fault, we were replacing the thermistors anyway. Oil capillary tip is spot on. Enjoying the content my man. Any vids on electrical fault finding coming soon?
👍🏼👍🏼 Always good to see how other people work 👌🏼 The majority of the kit I work on is Mitsubishi Electric and Daikin to be fair. I don’t really touch refrigeration to be honest mate. What sort of kit do you work on ?
@@hvacuk8975 I manly work on refrigeration, but some times I do ac and that's almost all daikin and panasonic.. But some customers have daikin refrigeration, that's basically a vrv with suction pressure around 5bar and a booster unit for the low temp around 1.9bar.. You have a lot vrv videos and know your stuff, so by watching your videos I'm learning a lot about Daikin refrigeration😉 FYI Daikin refrigeration is the worst..

Could I ask the vast majority of your repair jobs are to Daikin units! Is that because you specialise in Daikin/ the majority of your customers have Daikin or are they just more unreliable and have far more issues than other brands? Thank you.
I’m curious to know what is plugging the capillaries ?. Installing VRF for a decade now and I’ve never once had a single failure of a compressor. What are their installers doing to cause these failures. Compresses usually do not fail all by themselves it is a symptom of a problem. What is causing the problem ?
If the system has been installed without purging the pipe work, this could cause the capillaries to block eventually 👍🏼 Like you say, there is always a reason a compressor fails. Incorrect charge/refrigerant leaks causing high discharge temps, faults EEVs causing liquid flood back, poor oil return, incorrect installation etc etc 👍🏼👍🏼
I’ve just started watching your fault finding video’s, thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge, I’ve picked up a lot in a short time :)
Good to see you take pride in your work ! More daikin work please and tips
