8-bit Sonic 2 is way better on the Master System, because you can actually see where you're going. The Game Gear makes it seem pretty laughable, but with the problem of the tiny screen fixed, it's actually a pretty great game. It's certainly decent enough that the first boss is _reasonable_ on the Master System.
Get it on wii, that's the master system version with a better resolution, males the gamegear version unplayable in comparison to the Master System version
This is my jam!!! This should've been in Sonic Generations - period! This remix sounds like the level Sonic 2 for Game Gear & opening theme for Sonic CD combined together. It is epic all the way, one of the best remixes of this Sonic on UA-cam. NicoCW you need to make a comeback with these remixes & start doing more cuz you had a lot of this remixes on point & my speakers were enjoying the blessings of these remixes blastin' thru!

The original outline had you start off in the Present, then a Medieval era, as Eggman starts messing around with the timeline, leading to a Bad Present and Bad Future, in which you'd travel further into the Past to find a temple (Hidden Place) with the means to stop Eggman (Super Sonic). The industrial zones were originally part of the bad future, and multiple zones occupied the same space, albeit in different eras, e.g. Green Hill (Emerald in final), Hilltop (Past), Dust Hill (Bad Present; cut Desert level; replaced with Mystic Caves (itself called Rock World in the concept maps)), and Chemical Plant (Bad Future). Come to think of it, Green Hill in Forces kinda revisits that whole desertification concept...
I can see the appearance of the stage resembling the Game Gear/Master System level, but the layout of the stage resembles the opening cinematic from Sonic CD.

If there was a classic remix of the song, it should be the original Green Hills Zone mixed and perfectly synchronized with You Can Do Anything from Sonic CD.
If Generations 3DS focused on the portable titles, I'd have loved for them to put the standard Green Hill track for Act 1; then, for Act 2, BAM surprise us with this.

Pretty cool. I'd gave drum kick a boost, it's barely audible. Bass pluck gives much bigger jolt and practically masks the drum.
