If the late Gen 4 car is as good as V10s in F1 this is like the V12 for me. It's a strong second place. I like the burbley, manic, high pitch growl they made. These didn't sound quite as good on throttle but they were absolutely BRUTAL on the overrun when they let off the throttle. The high pitched shreek of the late Gen 4 wins for me though
That's because most of the gen 4 cars ran a X-pipe setup while most of the gen 6 cars ran a H-pipe setup which is what explains the difference in sound between those generation of cars
@@mrghost_gaming2845 Currently, they put in a restrictor plate for all races (except short track) and tuned down the performance. This sucked about 250 horsepower from the engine. So instead of the engine being able to produce 750hp, it only goes to about 500hp. Not to mention the stupid aero package they have on there now, making them EVEN slower
Gen 4 will always be my favorite just because that's what I grew up on and was the gen that was running when I was introduced to Nascar. Gen 6 is a close second though.
I can see the driver is so close to the wheel.... Pretty much unusual on a racing car let aside rally racing. Any info about that from NASCAR enthusiasts ? Thanks.
We run very wide wheels, almost truck circumferences on stock cars, however because of the length of these races and for almost 4 hours thier is less stress and strain on the arms when they are tucked in. Also because of how wide we run these removable wheels it fits best sat right above our inner lap. Remember, the wider the wheel: the more range of motion a driver has to make a precise move on an opponent, unlike most cars any sudden jerk or over correction will upset the rear end dramatically. So a wide wheel fixes any unintended handling mishap. These cars handle like overpowered dumptrucks.
@@jeffgreen9411 Thanks a lot for your explanation :-) Stock cars racing is little known here in Italy. Could have been a great show on the Monza bankings !
for both 2014 and 2015, You could hear that old school confident Dale Jr. again.
i wish we could hear that for the full 2 decades of his career
Facts. I’d say from 12-15.. the last 9 races of 13 were championship caliber.
Idk what these people are talking about, these engines sound great, especially with that BOOM when they shift
I agree! They sound awesome when they shift
man, they sound aaaweessoommeee. The best v8 sound imo
Giordano Silva yes I agree :D
Fast shift
theres a reason i have this saved in my music playlist
I miss this sound so much!!!
The high horsepower and the shifts up and down at the same time! Is awesome!!!
I miss the sound of horsepower.

That upshifting and downshifting is amazing.
Goodbye Gen 6, you’ll surely be missed!
best looking nascar ever
@jase1568 I Agree. And Also, The Safest NASCAR Gen-6 Car, Than The Next-Gen Car.
Indeed 😔😔
Nascars definitely do not sound like this no more that’s why I need nascar 15 again
Whats_HerTM Absolutely agreed they took away all the horsepower so now so awesome sounds
@@MandoJedi97 do they really sound that different? I mean, I don't notice any big difference, maybe just lower tone due to revs.
@@juliom3775 It's still the same engine, it's just not as raw and powerful sounding due to the restrictions now.

I miss this sound, the ones now rev too low.
The old ones had an x pipe fitted in them, giving them the iconic scream as they flew down daytona superstretch at 195 MPH
@@tuftyterror983 Not the Gen 6s. X pipes stopped with the Gen 4. This is just horsepower.

They sound so much better than this shit engines of today with no horsepower
Is that all the way up to 9k rpm?
yeah they’re probably at 9300 or 9500 rpm

Goddamn we need these rpms back
They must’ve sounded insane approaching- sounding like 10k with the Doppler effect
