Coolest part of the video for me was right after the door shuts and the car seems to reset, that beautiful blue light comes on and all the systems boot up. So surreal.
If I could go back in time, I'd show this car to Jochen Rindt and see how he drives it. But I think he'd shy away, thinking it was an alien space car from another galaxy! Still, I would love to see him do a few laps in it. He won the GP of Monaco with an obsolete car! The Lotus 72 should have been ready when he showed up at Monaco but Chapman was forced to use a super modified 49 and NOBODY thought Rindt had even the slightest chance of coming in second. But he drove the wheels off the car and took Black Jack Brabham by surprise, pulling off what must have been one of the biggest upsets in the race's history.
+EVOLICIOUS That was genius! I love it & could get used to it. I also love the paddle shift gearbox system too. The prototypes have been using it for a while, but since the GT cars have had it installed, it's a lot easier on these competitors. Of course, paddle shift does come with its own fair share of problems too, but concentration is not one of them since there's no more gear shift handle to look for while looking straight ahead.
+EVOLICIOUS Amazing? The only thing left is for that software to help him steer perfectly in corners and tell him when to throttle and brake, like a virtual racing line It's pathetic I understand that it's a safety measure like a radar, to tell the driver what's going on behind and on his sides, but im pretty sure many records have been established and many races won and many MANY great drivers formed without any single help of that sort. It's utterly pathetic. And as an software engineer i do value the amount of work that goes into all of that, specially the part of recognizing a car and marking it with an arrow. But as a huge racing fan, this kills the sport itself.
João Agnelo Sorry, I misunderstood. Your point (apart from your complete lack of knowledge on the tech these cars have) is essentially that in the earlier days, without the assistance tech, made better drivers with a higher difficulty. I strongly disagree and you should reconsider the difficulty of driving at night in a much more demanding and powerful car than the GT series has ever had. Even with the tech today, these cars are still raw in input and much higher in difficulty than ever before. I suggest you refrain on commenting on things you lack any knowledge of, I makes you look like a complete idiot. Especially when you think being a software engineer has any value to the topic. LOL!
João Agnelo LMAO! I can understand you are having a hard time trying to win an argument you lost the second you decided to comment about something you have no idea about. Next time, ask a question instead of making a statement, you will appear as a moron otherwise. I would certainly love to tell you about ICD tech in the GT3 cars, I'm very involved and well informed in this sport (unlike you), but hey, why not have someone give you a visual tour of why you are a complete moron trying to compared apples to oranges. (/watch?v=kGAHwzz_RgA), (/watch?v=mqAidRjWsyg) the racing channel goes into a lot of detail with the tech in some of their videos, (/watch?v=XGiBwgdR9qk), Also here is some info on the Porsche 991 gt3 ICD (similar to most gt3 setups) cosworth.com/about/case-studies/porsche-991-supercup/.
I even love the fact it identifies cars which are coming up fast - note the yellow arrow on cars in the same class or below, but the red arrow on prototypes coming up behind. There's been some scary crashes at Le Mans in recent years where GT cars just didn't spot a prototype coming up behind them, so this kinda tech is very useful.
I would watch the whole race from this POV of it was possible. Who needs a couple of dozen external cams when you can watch this for 24 hours with the volume turned up to 11.
@@adoyaben He does say this POV, which would mean if the camera is from the car itself, not the driver, then it would not be the same. It would have to be from the driver's head or wherever this camera sits. This video but extended. Is that what you mean? Either way, where can you find streams or recordings of those?
@@Herkan97 I meant you can find in car views, I don't think there are many from this point of view because it would be hard to keep a helmet cam running for 24 hours and it's an extra thing to fail.
Holy crap, that rear view camera is so cool, generates a massive arrow above the nearest vehicle and warns when being passed and on which side, so cool! :D
Legally they have to have outside mirrors but divers look out the rearview mirrors more so this rearview camera is the way to go, it be nice if NASCAR used them.
William Scott That would get too far away from stock cars. Today's stock car racing is already far advanced than the average production car. Rear view cams would only alienate the blue-collar fan base more as rear view cams are somewhat of a luxury. I think this technology is awesome in this racing series as this series boasts advanced technology. But, it might be a bit much for NASCAR. We're as far from true stock cars (for safety and competition reasons) as we can get; let's not push it.
Yeah, that gearbox seems to be amazing. I wonder why they didn't use the full potential regarding transmission though. There are some unused RPM left at the end of the oval section.
TonyR03 IMHO i think its due to a max torque around 5500-6000RPM. at those speeds on 6th gear there really is no point stressing the engine further. But what do i know... Maybe its just practice and the car is not set up correctly atm.
ghosthunter2006 Ok, this is a point I didn't think of, I mean it's a 24 h race, the engine should not be overly stressed if it was not useful. I also thought of slipstream and wind from behind but since there were only 1 or 2 shifting lights on in 6 th gear I thought even that wouldn't be enough to reach the limiter. Maybe the lesser fuel usage is also a fact which makes it reasonable to spare some RPM.
Roy Rki True dat, that's one of the few reasons I'll be buying pCars once it releases on Steam. Just hoping the actual driving and the FFB will be on par with the graphics.

I feel good knowing that I have met, got autographs, and got hats from Tommy milner every year for 5 years and counting. this guy is pretty damn talented.
What amazes me is their ability to alter their braking points depending on traffic, etc. I watched closely and it was not identical any 2 laps in a row. That is remarkable and must require a ton of concentration and understanding of both the car and track.
My favorite car in Assetto Corsa. that car handling and behavior is very balanced. The model and the sound are also beautiful. Such a great experience. Love it! Thanks for sharing.
A perfect video. A perfect gift for all of us from Milner and Drive. TY both. Nice to see how much effort is professional racing. From the outside many people vastly underastimate it. And I wonder who down-voted this video...
so awesome to watch! intense af i mean, due that helmet can we can imagine, or better imagine how hard it is to hold such a beast on the track. regular tv cams show us cars from the outside where everything seems so smooth as on butter, but that cam gives a feeling of.... fear, kinda like "oh boy if HE brakes too late now "I" will crash so hard"
Thank you for uploading this. It's always been my dream to be in the cockpit or even behind the wheel of a car like this and you've made that possible.
The Rolex 24hrs of Daytona is unparalleled in the world of racing. It's grueling 24hrs / 740 laps and 2637.7 miles is second only to the 24hrs of LeMans. This years 2015 Corvette Racing Team was relentless and feared when there yellow & black #3 & #4 C7.R Z06 Corvettes rolled out of the trailer and into pit lane. It was thrilling to in the pits and exciting to watch this truly AMAZING Corvette Racing Team take the checkered flag. Congratulations to #3 Jan Magnussen, Antonio Garcia, Ryan Briscoe / #4 Oliver Gavin, Tommy Milner, Simon Pagenaud and the entire C7.R team.........Ty Woodhall / Bondurant
Honestly, you can't compare the two. The 'Ring has a whopping 176 turns and is so massive that it surrounds a village! Daytona is a walk in the park compared to the 'Ring.
Great vid keep up the good work exactly what a gear head like me wants too see the was especially awesome because I am a huge corvette fan. amazing sounds from all the cars especially the corvette.
I was telling a friend about Corvette and the 24 hour. This video was perfect. I think she was quite turned on. This is a great video and my dream! Awesome work Tom.
I like how with the rear view camera it has an arrow pointing out the cars either coming up on the C7.R or that they just pasted with what looks like a Corvette crest that's beem slightly bent to look more like an arrow pointing down at the cars. It looks like the arrow changes colors for cars coming up on the C7.R while the cars he has passed are a different color. Wow, do the drivers of today have technology that makes it easier than in the past to race like a pro!

I feel good knowing that I have met, got autographs, and got hats from Tommy milner every year for 5 years and counting. this guy is pretty damn talented.
I'd love to watch the whole 24 hours from this angle!
I wish this was delivered from every race... and longer. Thank you.
Woooooow that's insane!
That's why I love Motorsports :D
Great to be able to take a peek at what it's like to drive these cars. Thank you!
My favorite Corvette Racing Car of all time baby🤩
6000 time better anything I have ever seen on tv, great work guys
You guys are spoiling us so much with these amazing onboard video's!!! THANKS! :)
This deserves more than just 40k odd views. This deserves global recognition, its that good! Keep these vids coming!!
Great driving with a great car...passed every car that was in his class
All those GT cars were actually in the class below (GTLM vs. GTD). I don't think there were any overtakes for class position in this video.
absolutely incredible. audio, visuals, everything.
lol...Something soothing about watching these vids, whether it's from the driver's point of view or from the passenger side.
Clicking on those paddle shifters!!!! The C7.R is my favorite Corvette out of all of the models.
Love the augmented graphics on the rear view camera, overlaying arrows in different colours depending on the proximity. Neato
I'm in love! That instrument panel is insane! And the rear view cam tracks opponents cars!
Something about watching a Vette pass a Ferrari and a BMW on the same stint just makes me smile
i think it's practice, and they're letting the Vette by because they're on their in/out lap and the Vette is on a flying lap.
@@pls-no-punterino7095 can't just let me have this one?
That was the best 15 minutes I've spent watching a video in a long time. Awesome!
That rear view camera is so smart! Looks like its come straight out of a video game!
A perfect video. A perfect gift for all of us from Milner and Drive. TY both. Nice to see how much effort is professional racing. From the outside many people vastly underastimate it. And I wonder who down-voted this video...
wow very cool video i like this behind the scenes side you really get to see some of what a racer's experience is during a race.
I love coming back to this video every year
I've had around 35 hours spent in this car in Forza 6 and im surprised how well they have nailed almost every detail of this car in game! Amazing job!
Nice job
wooow! this rear view camera, which depicts cars is utterly amazing! wow! this is what you call high tech!
This car is a beast. It was just too early for the new 'vette to be out on a track. Better luck next year!
so awesome to watch! intense af
i mean, due that helmet can we can imagine, or better imagine how hard it is to hold such a beast on the track. regular tv cams show us cars from the outside where everything seems so smooth as on butter, but that cam gives a feeling of.... fear, kinda like "oh boy if HE brakes too late now "I" will crash so hard"
Cool graphics. Is it comming on PS4 ?
TheDidiwolf34 no ps44
LOL
Curti! parece um jogo mesmo, incrível
Lol
yes man in year 2066 ! 😉
Thank you for uploading this. It's always been my dream to be in the cockpit or even behind the wheel of a car like this and you've made that possible.
That prototype corvette at 6:12 that comes from behind and blows past the C7.R! Jesus!
I count myself as blessed to have been able to touch this car.
Just freaking awesome. Loved watching the new C7R just ran past Porches and Ferrari's. Anyone know where the C7R's finished?
sadly the cars had gearbox overheating issues and finished fifth, its to be expected with new cars, they will fix the issues and be ready for Sebring.
I'm sure there were some jaws dropping however for a completely new car, to do THAT well right out of the gate.
o ya for sure, i bet the sound was amazing live.
That perspective never gets old. Also that sweet sounding motor. I love it!
Thanks for the ride!!!
Epic, just epic! What a sound from that engine, gives me goosebumps.
This is what I believe to be the best In-Car EVER!
OH THIS IS WONDERFUL!!!!! Thanx to whoever shared this.
Holy crap, this is awesome!
this was incredibly relaxing to watch, he makes it look so friggin easy
Unparalleled? You mean not counting the 24 Hours of Le Mans?
Your forgetting the 24hr of nurburgring, thats alot more tough than the daytona 24hr, but thats just my opinion
I agree, Nurburgring just kills the cars with the relentless elevation changes, Daytona is hard as hell but not as hard as Nurburgring.
Honestly, you can't compare the two. The 'Ring has a whopping 176 turns and is so massive that it surrounds a village! Daytona is a walk in the park compared to the 'Ring.
pure awesomeness, driver's eye is my favorite /DRIVE feature.
Wow! Pratt & Miller makes some awesome, state of the art machines. Its frickin eye candy everywhere.
Man... I love this... this is tops!!!!!!! all the cockpit lights, the Intel screen and the arrow indicating driver behind me, red, yellow green... I am too jealous... this is one i need bad bad bad!
Love the helmet cam...wish there was more footage like this.
wow, it looks like no body had a chance against that C7.R. What a machine and what an awesome rear view camera system.
Chevrolet Corvette: The only American car (along with the Ford GT) that I actually like!
If you mean the GT40. The New GT GTE sounds like a Vacuum cleaner.
@@pirozcontractor6006 it may not sound that good, but the car itself is incredible.
