It’s very important to show up like you do ALL the time, had you not randomly stopped, she would have slept & not ate. She was so tired & hungry, she must have had a hard night before(no sleep). Poor baby. Imagine how many folks just leave their loved ones in there & never visit, so sad. Bless your heart.❤ I appreciate you sharing you & Norma’s life with us.
It's a terrible thought of how many people don't have anyone that cares for them or visits them, etc... it's sooo sad!!

This is where the nutrient drinks come in handy. This was a very difficult one for my mom❤ & I! She weighed in the low 100's when she passed😢. I couldn't handle her not eating, it's not normal & that messes with your mind!
She had ensure all day but just wouldn’t sit to eat. She’s able to walk while drinking ensure.
My husband is terminally ill. He is starting to not want to eat and it is driving me crazy. He is a big guy right now but I worry so much. 30 years together. Watching my best friend wither away is the worst thing in my life.
@judgejenny2251 I'm so sorry you have to go thru that with whatever illness your husband has?! Another issue is that we don't want our loved ones to be in "any" pain. It's gut-wrenching to know they need to eat, but they just won't or can't. I had to walk away from the table because I couldn't control my emotions or tears. We had hospice coming to our house & they tried to console me, telling me that it's part of the process, when all I wanted to do is put an IV w/nutuents in her. I will pray for you both! I hope you're able to take care of yourself even if it's just to get out get some fresh air & short walk?
@samiehayes8045 Thank you so much for your kind words. My husband has lung cancer. He is a painting contractor and has been since 1974. Of course back then, nobody wore safety masks. He also worked at Firestone. Also, bad on his lungs. He is such a precious person. He believes in Christ and that is a wonderful comfort to me. God bless you!

Ms. Norma just wanted her Crystal to feed her, she was hungry too. Crystal she's wanted you to stop pestering her about the hood that's why she held on to it. Crystal, your reinforcement cues are great.
Do the caregivers at the facility feed them or they just bring them food and expect them to eat by themselves? Honest question?
My guess is after a few tries, they just leave it. Hence her daughter eventually feeding her.
