Thank you so much for having evaluated performances on baseline mac m1, it's so surprising to see a recent famous game as pokemon being better on our device than on the switch. I like following your vids a lot, keep the good pace
Not that surreal: both chips are ARM, the M1's hardware is much more advanced and powerful. At the end it is more of a translation than an emulation.
This is seriously impressive even for just the base m1. I’d be more than happy even if it’s all locked at 30 fps but the fact some run higher at 30 no problem is awesome to hear for a first public build and surely to get better as improvements are made to the emulator! Thermals are the only thing I would still like to know of how it may affect performance after 20 mins of gameplay but everything else then looks great!

Unfortunately it's technically not possible, shaders can only be compiled at run-time, you can just cache them after, in order to sort of preaload all of them you should have something like a 3D benchmark in-game that would explore every area of the map and trigger every possible animation in order to compile and cache all the shaders in advance, but even if that'd be theoretically possible I've never seen such a thing implemented, also because nowdays the realtime compilation of shaders is getting faster and faster and wouldn't make much sense, moreover with async shader compile you can avoid the stuttering at the cost of a bit of texture pop-in the first times
Not possible. The emulator has no way of knowing the shaders before they are used and you typically also need additional state on top of just the shader code to compile them.
Ryusak allows you to download shaders but it’s not on mac
@@Rhedox1 Shouldn't it be possible to transfer precompiled shaders from one computer to another? When the system caches a shader after compilation, it obviously does some kind of mapping to avoid future compilations right? So in theory it seems like precompiled shaders should work.

Fab video Andrew. Any ideas on why when I'm playing Pokémon Scarlet, there are FPS drops whenever a Pokemon uses one of its moves? The move animation stutters a bit, not sure why. Doesn't seem to do that in your video. But thanks for helping me get set up with this, really appreciate you!
You have to let the shaders compile, once the same move is done a second time it won’t stutter.
I did your tutorial to download ryujinx, but when I launch mario bros deluxe I can play it but the game is slow despite the 60fps. Do you have an idea of the problem? Btw thank ou for this amazing content!

Get all the files plugged in. If the program flunks, sometimes it just takes a reset or waiting a week and it just works.
help. the audio in my Macbook air's ryujinx went out in the middle of playing Brilliant Diamond. i havent done anything on it until it happens.. i checked on the settings and tweaked some audio stuff in there. nothing. reinstalled Ryujinx.. still nothing. hope someone can help me

Emulation on my 4080 setup is great but mac is like near basic as it gets for me. I enjoy how much control pc gives and owns any title but portable mac has its draws

Little question I followed your ryujinx tutorial for diablo for my mbp 2020 m1 but I still have some graphic issue , some letters don't appear correctly for ex the numbers of gold I need to repair my stuff and some other words here and there maybe I missed a quick fix, let me know if you have a solution !

There might be graphical issues I didn’t encounter, I hope they get fixed in a future version of Ryujinx.
I've been playing It Takes Two through Parallels for a while now, and also for a few months via crossover - I forget which update made it possible on Crossover but it was earlier this year. (M1Max MBP)
You can play natively on m1 cores
@@berdanbalat444 Really??? I'm using Crossover 22.0.1 and it doesn't just work. I had to apply the fix in ua-cam.com/video/Yl86dLJjTW0/v-deo.html to get it to work. It plays great at 720P after that with some shader issues especially in boss fights (Vacuum, Monkey, etc). But my major issues are with the sound that somehow mutes the dialog in cutscenes and the game's colors look washed out just like in the video I alluded to. How did you get it to work 'natively'?
umm so pokemon let's go series and sword shield should work at lock 30 fps right?
Has to be noted that thermal throttling would affect performance in 10-15 minutes unless you somehow cool your laptop (or did a "trick" with applying additional thermal pads)

My Pokemon Violet emulator doesn't run as smoothly on the latest Ryujinx version (1.1.1330) and with an M1 Pro (16 inch Macbook Pro). Stuttering and crashes from time to time.
Tried Diablo 2 on m1 MacBook Air, it works but I have terrible screen tearing. No matter if its internal screen or external.

It works at 30 fps but if you play it for like 10-15 minutes it crashes

It can but apple do not allow emulators in the app store and you cannot install apps outside of app store.

That’s an interesting idea. Though since the Ryujinx would have to make an official release for IPad, get molten vk on it, coupled with the fact not that much people have it, it might be difficult too, and too much time consuming.

Is there some sort of tutorial how do downgrade graphical settings, so M1 Air won't heat so much? 60fps is great, but would prefer 720p/30fps, so I simply could play longer sessions without worrying to much about the system safety.
My MBA M1 gets up to 90ºC while running some games. This prevents me from playing for a long time, after all, there is no active cooling.

I stopped running the emulator until it was optimized and didn't heat up that much.

@@lacerdaluiz I found a solution (= I am using an app called: "Macs fan control" and the temperature not passing of 56 degrees, but I am not sure that is working with all Macs, because not all the Macs have fan. but is great =) is very easy to use

Disable Hypervisor in the CPU settings and BOTW works! Only 20 FPS on a Max mind but still v imoressive.

Not a problem. The M1 chip underclocks before there is any chance of overheating.

i use macbook pro m1 ( 8GB ) for pokemon violet is very lagging , and there is no cheat fps on the link gba temp as on descriptions

The thing at the bottom that shows the fps,do you know how to make that appear as sometimes it foes and sometimes it doesnt
I use my mac m1 for play but cpu becomes very hot in 5 minutes of playing, about 90 celsius
Yeah cause it uses more ram on shaders and with high cpu usage but very playable. Hope they fix this in future updates
@@despeboy47 There's nothing to fix. It's doing a lot of work, so it will naturally get hot.

I have base MBA M1, currently I'm trying to play D2 Resurrected smoothly. I've applied the 60fps patch but seems that I never broke 22-24 fps in my run. Is there some setting I have to do? I'm also checking if there are something running on the background that made things slow...
Try turning off low power mode

I have tried to make it run at 60fps without success. I have looked at the battery settings and it was set to "never", as it should be, but the frames are neither stable nor more than 40fps and that is playing at 720p instead of 1080p as in the video, where it moves at a stable 60fps . MBA 8/512, any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I know it's illegal, but does anyone find it easy to download the NSP or XCI on the m1 Mac using safari? whenever I find a site and press the link I just get directed to some advertisement, Is it because its torrent or something?

What part of Taiwan are you from?
I'm experiencing an audio bug, I'm using Ryujinx 1.1.0 on an M1 max.
The audio stutters a lot and is distorted, graphics look great.
Sometimes it sounds great for about 10 seconds, then the distortion returns..
I tried both SDL2 and OpenAL as the backend.
Same issue in Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe
Any advice?
Disabling Hypervisor did it for me in FE:3H. Haven't tried other games yet though
how did you managed to just open these games in ryujinx without a graphic card? in my M1 pro I had this obvious error, bc Mac doesn't have OpenGL nor Vulkan right? sooooo how did you do it??

Tried both of them. Super Smash Bros works great on M1 but Mario Kart 8 Deluxe runs at half speed at certain times (not sure if lag comes from compiling shaders or something else)

70 is not very hot.. you can turn down resolution scale.
