What makes me feel relieved is that most of stayc’s fans in Korea are women. I’m not tryna be sexist or anything but I noticed the ggs you mentioned that can’t switch up concepts have a male dominated fanbase. Bcs once they switch up on innocent and cute or elegant, they leave the fandom. That’s why groups with female dominated fandoms have been able to experiment without losing popularity, like red velvet for example. That’s why I feel like stayc can switch up on their concepts easily.
I’m not worried about them at all. Their concept is suiting for them rn. They’ll change when the producers/ whomever and them thinks they’re ready to change it up. And stayc is pretty unique, they bring so much to the table!!! Can’t wait to see them grown, even though they already have so much in almost a year!!💖🥳
Their image is literally GEN Z, "star to a young culture gworlll" There is nothing wrong with Stayc's concept/image because younger gens just want to express themselves, and that's what Stayc does, music wise, behind the scenes, etc.
There’s nothing wrong with them nor their concept. You are digging into something, having people debate on a topic that wasn’t even a topic regarding Stayc prior to that.
Actually, the thing is STAYC in their entirety does not fit in the " pure and cute" concept. Take for example their cover of Doja Cat's Kiss me more. Had they really wanted a super clean and pure image they would have not retained the original lyrics of the song. Many Swiths, including myself are actually always so excited with the changes they might bring because that also means they are growing as artists. STAYC at the moment is "IN" their MOMENT so let's just celebrate that with them and not get a head of ourselves. Although the intention of this video was not to hate, there are still people who'd take advantage of this video and bring toxicity towards STAYC so let's just remember that this video is still largely based on the opinions of the creator and that the future of STAYC is not a one size fits all. You made some great points in this video, but I think Stayc isn’t completely “teen fresh”. Their debut So Bad was a stronger concept imo and that song is what made me a fan. I’m excited to see what they bring in future years!
to me, stayc's one of the few groups without an actual concept, but i mean that in a good way. they debuted with "so bad", which was a girl crush concept, and it's a trend that most ggs debut with a strong concept like a girl crush one. but as they had more comebacks, their sound changed and concept changed, very early on esp going from so bad to asap. then stereotype was a little bit like asap, but it was more nuanced in the "slice of life, shoujo" theme. run2u on the other hand, is neither here nor there, it's not exactly cute, yet it's not exactly girl crush either, this is what i like about stayc. they're the few groups who doesn't stress too much on concept, and every comeback, the emphasis is always on the members' ability, the individuality of the members and yet the cohesiveness and synergy of the group shines through. and every song released has always been an earworm.
as a swith, it always worried me about what will happen to stayc in the future once they grow up and become adults since the “teen fresh” concept wouldn’t suit them anymore so this video laid out all my concerns for the group rly well.
Their concept is about teens becoming women, with all the pitfalls and insecurity that comes with this growth and as they get older, the concept is bound to become more mature. It also comes with the notion that while becoming an adult is hard, it is easier when you have good friends.
I don't think the lyrics to Stereotype are problematic. The part that was shown in the video about "seducing someone" was taken out of context. If you read the whole lyrics, it continues like this: "It may seem like I'm seducing you / And I'm sorry but / Don't create a stereotype about me / I'm a little different / I may seem flashy on the outside / But I'm still afraid, you should know / I'm a good girl, yeah"
StayC is a lovely group but it's almost inevitable that they will have some kind of criticism.. people will find something to pick on etc. Like you said we saw it with other groups we just have to hope they'll be strong enough to endure it and look past it. There are more people that love them 💕 than will be haters..
Toxicity really kills groups. This must be stop in kpop soon if not now. This has been happening for a long time already and had made some serious outcome to some of the big groups before. Most specially, STAYC deserves better.
I can see that stayc is really enjoying themselves. They dont have purely the cute and innocent concept. They also can pull off the so bad and run2u concept which is quite badass. There will always be bashers every where. I think they will be fine in the future

Its just the M/Vs they have been doing covers and etc to show other sides of them and emphasis to their "all around" persona specially in partnership with the company 1thek. You just have to pay attention to it. So for those who are fans, no problem so far.

they are all young still so this concept fits. they can easily expand it to be more elegant like apink.
