    LOOK at the Lego Y-Wing behind Leslye's head on the shelf (11 o'Clock position) - it has its wings on BACKWARDS.

      Why doesn't that surprise me.

    Because Leslie Headland was basically writing her own life and personal issues into a *Star Wars Story* that's what we've come to now. Kathy Kennedy got wind of Leslie Headland from a video clip where she's kissing Kennedy's behind, saying - "plz Queen Kennedy, can I make a starwars series." And KK agreed, and when Leslie pitched her idea at Lucasfilm, Kennedy even told her to "make it your own personal story so Leslie did; while subverting *Lore* as you say. Here is a quote from Leslie Headland herself talking (to the New York times) about what exactly inspired her when writing the twins of Osha & Mae and inserting her own Family Drama into the show.
    "I have a very strained relationship with my youngest sister, and I feel like one of the reasons it is strained is that we both see each other as the bad guy."
    "And if I was going to tell a story about bad guys, it seemed to me that the place to start should be a familial relationship where one person is adamantly convinced of her correctness and the other person is also adamantly convinced of her correctness," she continued. "We don't speak. I think this will be a surprise to her."
    So what it seems like here is Leslie only really cares about sending a message to her sister, and her begging "Queen Kennedy" to allow her to make her own starwars series (costing upward of $180m), would allow Leslie Headland to use a hugely popular, beloved franchise, to basically drive that message home to her sister. the fallout between the siblings having something to do with Leslie coming out and her sister being against that.
    I'm just glad I never bothered to watch this show because from the moment it was announced bout 3 yrs ago, in some random article that never gave any synopsis, just only that it would be the first starwars series to have a "Non-Binary actor" in the lead role." And then once I learned Leslie Headland was attached as showrunner, looking up who she was and her resume, I had a bad feeling it would be somekind of hot mess and nothing really to do with actual *Star Wars*.
    Im seeing so many videos of people trying to work out what the Acolyte is from a purely starwars Lore perspective and none of it will ever make sense because Headland has just used the IP to write her own family issues as therapy, which has resulted in nothing more than some 50 shades fanfiction in space. And the worst thing here is Kathy Kennedy and Lucasfilm allowed her to do this, all because Headland is a rainbow person that is of the very small demographic that Disney (and Hollywood) right now keep heavily pandering to for all that DEI purpose.
    Have you saw the Par1s Olympic gam3 opening ceremony? I'm beginning to believe they are heavily pushing this skittles ideology into Everything now, and those people most of them have some serious issues; they see the world from a purely immoral viewpoint, "Do as thou Wilt" is their mantra; and just look at how Headland has wrote characters in her Acolyte, *Subverting* things to where the "Heroes" are BAD and the actual "Villains" in her eyes are GOOD. Go check out last month's "PRIDE" parade and see for yourself.

    I honestly feel like Leslye didn’t pay attention the the things she wrote… she contradicts a lot of what she wrote, as you said, in this interview

      She definitely contradicts a lot of what she says. It sucks, seeing as she is the forefront & creator of the show. But hey, what do I know…

    Kennedy hires people based on how square their heads are shaped. Johnson, Headland and Charmin Obey-Chablis all have box-like heads.

    Two things I want to point out.
    1st - I was finished with Star Wars after the sequel trilogy and the Kenobi show and after watching the horrendous DEI investigation video showing that sissy sounding Disney Executive, it shows why and how this IP and so many shows/movies are in such horrible state because of the mindset running these productions
    2 - I think the idea of exploring whether or not the force itself is good or evil and God like paradox ideas is interesting to tell. However, no one outside of Feloni in the Mortis episodes, has been able to do it justice nor has explored that idea well. Also exploring what led to the jedi becoming the ones we see in the prequels can be interesting to explore but these writers nor most contemporary writers can pull it off without it being a mess of some sort

    • @starwarstalk_
      @starwarstalk_  3 місяці тому

      @@Story2ScreenMovieReviewPodcast you just absolutely nailed that in both of your points!
      Exactly right, Filoni is the only one who has done any justice in explaining the force and making it still mysterious and fun for the audience (and makes us want to learn more). The writers on this show and other shows, have done no justice for the franchise.
      Also that video of the Disney exec is disgusting. I hope something is done about that because it’s gross.

    nothing really breaks canon in the show. I think her interviews and the promos they put out really did a huge disservice to their own show. it set people up with expectations that people couldn't get past once it became apparent that none of what was said about the show was true. they basically lied, for what reason I have no idea. never trust promos, especially Disney ones.

      Her interviews are atrocious when it comes to star wars acolyte. It feels like she forgets what she just put in the show when she talks about it. The promos and everything did not help the show at all :(

    Hasn't a clue what she's talking about. Background looks like hastily arranged "nerd stuff" from a non-nerd. These people are now the stewards of a once much loved franchise.

    I can't stand listening to Leslye Headland. It's like she knows the language of writing and show running, without having any of the talent. So it sounds like she knows what she's talking about, but she's 100% faking it.

      I’m with you. She seems like she doesn’t know what’s even going on in the show at all and it just bums me out. I want someone who’s extremely passionate about Star Wars to work on a show!

    Honestly at this point I am convinced they (Kathleen Kennedy and her cronies) are actively trying to destroy Star Wars. It seems like it would be more statistically probable to create a good movie/trilogy/show/episode by chance than to always make something this bad that continues to get worse with each iteration.
    If you remove the Star Wars aspect and look at: the terrible writing, poor acting, waste of CGI, oh and contradicting the established lore the universe for a short joke.story it is still *a 3/10 at best generic show*. At it's best!
    I have my tinfoil hat on and cannot be convinced otherwise that this is not part of a greater plan to purposely ruin Star Wars.

    • @starwarstalk_
      @starwarstalk_  3 місяці тому

      @@naverz08 I’m absolutely with you on that point. There is NO WAY that they cannot make something good. We’ve even seen them make some great projects with Andor and Ahsoka and mando. But yet they choose to make projects like the acolyte that have some of the worst qualities?!!
      I don’t get why they would want to destroy Star Wars, but it seems like something is up.
      You’re right. If you remove the star wars aspect, the acolyte gets 1/10th of the views it has now. They’re lucky they own star wars otherwise no one would watch.
