Good stuff, tackling one of these tomorrow, thought i'd just a quick google, save me some time finding out where the bolts are....
Had one jump the belt and wrap up behind the crank pulley. Customer put a belt on and kept driving, virtually melted off the plastic seal carrier and front seal lip was just gone....so much filthy oil.....put it back together to find belt walking forward on the tensioner.
I found if i put my 1/2" ratchet with a small bar into the adjuster hole, you can push toward/away from the engine and find the whole tensioner assembly will wobble, couple that with worn/wobbly pulleys them selves.....This car was also getting some light squealing from the mis-aligned belt which is a good warning that something isn;t straight

Thanks. Top stud HAS to come out else tensioner interferes with power steering pump.

Thanks, I was almost ready to start pulling off the power steering. The stud came out and back in with a 7/32 single hex but would recommend getting the proper tool before pulling it all apart

Fellow mechanic here and that's a pretty comprehensive yet nicely condensed video for the job. I have wondered the similar thought to you once the job was done and how the belt can remain a little of centre on either one or both of the pulleys. If you can use very fine shims (or ground down flat washers) and that can assist with corrections on the belt alignment. Obviously there is some play in the corresponding next pulley or accessories in the belt circuit which can cause that but a customer isn't going to want everything on the front of the engine just to keep the belt on. Nice work and a new sub for you here. HMU with a sub too if you can on my channel. Cheers mate 😊🏎️💨
