- Following Saturday's appearance at the Glastonbury Festival, Bruce appeared on Sunday, June 28, at the Hard Rock Calling Festival in London's Hyde Park. Like Glastonbury, this turned into another magical show making the back-to-back U.K. festival appearances an all time highlight for Bruce and the Band. Here, in full, is the opening song from Bruce's set, "London Calling." (Joe Strummer/Mick Jones).
Bruce and the E-Street Band are the best in the world, he just rock, nobody can beat him!!!!
thump up if you have the same oppinion !!
if this doesn't make you grin big then you have no rock & roll in your soul. LOVE. THIS. Love it.
I loved Bruce Springsteen's first three albums and then I just couldn't deal with the rest of it. But his tribute to Joe Strummer is so authentic that I got to listen to this at least twice maybe 10 times
Fantastic to see one of the greats playing a song from the greatest band ever, nice one Bruce
Bruce rocks. I've been to five of his concerts. 60 years old and still rocks the place and plays for three hours

@IrelandCaptured: I totally agree! I saw Bruce in Udine, Italy last summer - his performance was incredible.

He truly is The Boss, may he and his E Street Band live forever!
Nice job Bruce, I was a little worried with a tune so legendary as this.
Bruce can cover any song and make it great
It was already great, but he did it justice.
brilliant!
this is the best take i've ever seen of this great classic.
it's an instant favourite - many thanks for sharing!
good to see him give the Clash some love.
Energy and passion just as Joe used to do it.
Showed this to my 16 old daughter who has been to a few gigs. She thought it was incredible and then nearly fell off her chair when I told her this was the first track not the encore as she thought! That's Bruce for you!

Happy Birthday "Boss"

Muitos aí a vibrar e muitos mais deste lado tristes por não ter estado lá também, mas sentem a na mesma a energia e euforia que só o Bruce consegue transmitir.
I WAS THERE HE WAS FUCKING AWESOME!!!
Heard that a few days ago in Hard Rock Café Hamburg and I'm obsessed with it ever since :D How could I not?
THANKS. I love it
I have seen you @rome @Milan @Florence @Bologna.....
Bruce ist ein Held, genau wie Atze aus Braunschweig
surprisingly well done
WOW!!!! This is fantastic!!!!
BROOOOOOOSE!!!!!!
Or should I say Joe Strummer, Paul Simonon, Mick Jones...???
The best...
Awesome drumming from Michael Douglas!
wow...
and he hides it very very good that he's reading the lyrics from a teleprompter - it's the first time i've been realizing that. you never see it in other videos...
Classic... Bruce was big into punk when he started out
Look, I love Bruce Springsteen. I've favourited more of his videos than any other singer/songwriter, with the exception of Joni Mitchell ('cause I'm a girl, not a "dude"). I just bought his CD "Magic" yesterday. No joke. Kinda late, but I'm a procrastinator. I own all of his albums except "The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle", "The Seeger Sessions", and "Working on a Dream". I'll buy 'em some day.
or maybe Neil Young have song catalogs that rank with Bruce. The Rolling Stones and the Who, in their prime, were as exciting, live.
But no one else, ever, has put on such great shows for almost 40 years.
No one has written such great music from his teens into their (almost) 60s.
No one puts it all together as well. I saw him 3 times in 1978, and it was the Greatest Show on Earth. I've seen him twice on this tour, and he's still electrifying.
Bruce Springsteen is a f**king treasure.
If anyone was going to cover Joe it would have to be Bruce. Asbury Park Pride baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bruce is amazing but noone will ever come close to being as great as joe
The hair on my arms stood right up. Wow.
This was one intense performance.
miss joe strummer r.i.p
Respect for two reasons.
1. Not too shabby performance from "The Boss", a Clash classic.
2. Max Weinberg.
unbelievable
Yes it´s Max. He´s member of the E Street Band since 1974!
I don't think a musician can receive a greater complement than to be covered by Bruce Springsteen. After 31 years of following him, I've coe to believe he's the greatest singwriter/performer of my lifetime.
The Beatles and Dylan were more influential, but for different reasons, neither ever put on a show that ranked with what Bruce does, routinely, every night.
The Clash's light burned brightly, but went out all too soon.
You could argue that the Beatles, or Dylan
Brilliant.
Wish he had sung it at Les Vieilles Charrues.
The best part is probably Bruce looking like he’s holding in the most massive shit during his solo.
Love this version Springsteen is the best
The one and only boss........
shivers...
Ohhhh, they aren't booing, they're shouting "Bruce", now i get it.
I know what you mean.. but.. this is Bruce! ;D
@jkj10 I agree that sometimes his voice isn't up to par. However, more often than not he still delivers. It's a fact that during this part of the tour he had a cold, so, that's probably a factor on this an other songs at Hyde Park and Glastonbury.
that's just like my dream: the boss singing the clash.
it's as if bb king had covered the stones of something like that
This is pretty slick!
omfg i want tickets for the 2010 festival :S
@going24dark True enough. Bruce is meticulous, but what can he do? Little Steven schlepped with Bruce when they were teenagers up and down the boardwalk carrying guitars and speakers. Steven is a part of him. You never hear Stevens voice on studio recordings (at least it's not noticible). Plus, the fans love Steven almost as much as they love Clarence.
This is a song originally by the Clash.
It's funny that he covers the Clash because I see a lot of similarities between Strummer & Springsteen. They are based in early roots rock, write great lyrics and were consummate performers. Bruce was also a big fan of Warren Zevon who was also talented as hell.
Damn seen the lin up for 2010? its insane
His guitar looks kinda like mine....and I play it just like him too......haha.......I wish.
I couldn't understand one word Steve Van Zandt sang, but an awesome performance by Bruce.
