Bro that's for real... when The Boss came to Brazil to play in Rock in Rio he covered a song called "Sociedade Alternativa" from a brazilian rock 'n roll late legend called Raul Seixas... Bruce sang in portuguese and it was a hell of a concert!!!
@@duhdcruz I found that because of someone's comment like that some years ago - never would have heard of it otherwise (being Czech). That's the other amazing thing about Bruce's covers, I think. :-)
They could cover the song Feelings, and make it a blast. They did a cover of Purple Rain when Prince passed. I could swear it's better than the original.

In an interview Tom said that Bruce would just point at a sign someone is holding up and count to three and then started to play. He saw the sign, thought to himself "well, I might have heard that song once, like 20 years ago" and then had to try to remember the song, while he tried to play it.
@luke5100 Jake Clemons and Tom Morello are the greatest additions to the E Street band since their inception, Jake is such an incredible talent and what a blessing for Bruce and to all of us who once enjoyed going to a Springsteen show and Tom Is my favorite guitarist ever and for him to be part of the e street is fucking cool to the highest point. You are so right about him and when I saw Bruce and Tom perform clampdown together it was just everything you would want from a Springsteen show and so much more, I miss the Bruce I believed in and how his music always got me through and I will always appreciate my time with everything Bruce but we all change and our views sometimes blind us god bless brother

While Tom Morello may be a gifted guitarist, he (too) often just generates noise along the beat. Just like in this vid, it's (for my taste) too much screech and yelling (don't know other words for it in english). Ed would have played the solo(s) far more melodic. Just my 2 cents though.

Tom is great, but he's NOTHING like EVH as a player. Completely different styles. I doubt he chose to play this song, he was probably thrown into it by Bruce and the band, so he had to do something vaguely Van Halen-esque, and it wasn't awful.

If I was going to request a band do a VH cover this song wouldn't make my top 50. That said this is a pretty good version. It's got more of a full band sound where VH's is dominated by the synths (hence why this wouldn't be the VH song I would request).
