    Best video I watched to replace the cable to the interior door handle to open the door from inside the car!!

    Thank you for this video! I just replaced the left door latch cable and your video got me through it. BUT...I found a shortcut that everyone should know.
    The hardest part of removing the door actuator is that ONE rod with the green clip. After trying for at least an hour to get my fat fingers up into that area with no success, I took a short break. Stood up to stretch and noticed a rubber access hole cover on the side of the door that looked to be right at the height of the green clip. I popped that puppy off and EVERYTHING is right there. And as you suggest of inserting one screw to hold the actuator in place while reconnecting everything, doing that puts that rod almost right in line with the hole & clip.
    Unfortunately there's no way to post pics but when you remove that cover you'll see for yourself.

    Paul, your video was incredibly helpful in replacing the lock actuator in our 2006 Acura TSX. I literally had it replaced is 34 minutes start to finish thanks to your insight regarding the process and steps to do it. The process on our Acura was just like the Accord. Thanks very much, well done and very, very helpful.

    Thanks my friend! My wife [it's her car] will be so happy to see it fixed and, for $34 I'm REALLY happy! And as far as your video-explanation, lighting, view into tight spaces... very well done! AND, you did what so many diy YT channels don't do, and that's to show the OEM part number.

      Tommy Rad glad it worked. If you could subscribe to my channel that would be great ( there is no charge). UA-cam wants to take down channels that don’t have 1000 subscribers or enough viewing times. I am at 762 subscribers and have to reach 1000 in 30 days or no more videos. Thank you if you can do me a solid.

    Whole video is darn near perfect - we changed out left and right sides using it - thanks! At the end, the final door handle cable connect with the plastic clamp - I did this just now, but forgot to seat the cable sheath's slotted plastic collar into the metal forked slot - result, I couldn't open the door from inside the car! So:: there are TWO final steps before you secure the door panel - clip the cable end to the handle AND seat the cable slotted plastic collar into the metal fork to keep the sheath in place!

I was hesitant about taking off the parts as I went like the window guide/metal and rubber guide piece but it all went back into place just fine without any issue. Paul, thanks for the video. I have a 2004 CRV. When I attempted to reinstall the window channel. I lined the channel bolt hole with the lower of the two holes on the door frame. Unfortunately when I tried to put on the door panel a clip was designed to fit in that lower door frame hole. To move the channel up to the higher hole it proved to be a big challenge. Mine was the frt. passenger door. This problem stopped me dead in my tracks. In your case it seems the channel was designed to fit in that lower hole.

    Great video! My 2007 Honda was a little different then some of the other videos of Honda's I saw (different screw placement on door panels). This was super thorough, and showing everything via video and step by step was very well done. Was able to replace my own actuator this morning. Took about 2.5 hours, but it's all up and working now. Thanks!
    For anyone else who does this, don't freak out if at first your keyfob doesn't work when you test before putting all back together, mine didn't, but once I plugged in the power to the window/lock/mirror panels, those buttons worked from lock and keyfob started to work.

    This was a terrific video and really helped me understand how to change the actuator. I watched your video twice before starting work and the task went much faster than I expected. I found I didn’t need to take off the black cable guide - just tease out the cable, and smearing a little dishwash liquid on the metal window track really helps getting the rubber window seal back into the metal track. Many thanks.

    Without this video I would be sobbing in the garage trying to figure out all the little clips and hard to see and reach things. I don't think this is a job for the less mechanically inclined. I found the most difficult parts to be the little green clip way up inside the door, and the very fragile cable end at the door handle. It won't tolerate much tugging on it at all, which happens in the course of getting it off, and then going back together. If you break the plastic cable end at the final install, the whole process has to be redone, and more, to install a new cable. Breaking any of the little clips that may be brittle from years of baking inside the door will stall the whole repair while you scramble for parts that are not readily available. There's a lot to have to pay attention to in accomplishing this procedure. Thanks to Raul for sharing! OMG, it still took me hours!

    Just perfect bro how you make the video, explanations and everything. Very detailed and patient. Thanks bro. I will do that on my car, same problem. But as it was not locking, I was using the car key and the lock stopped working too after a while, going to look for that fixing now.

      i wear gloves when i can, but they get in the way, when dealing with small things that you have to remove or put on. hard to get a feel with gloves. i use them in some of my video when i am dealing with larger things that i dont need as much feel. thanks for caring. LOL

    The video was very good and it saved me several hundred dollars. But I caution you, if the car is an older model be sure to get a new cable for the inside door release. On older cars the plastic becomes extremely brittle and the head of the plastic sleeve WILL easily break as mine did. After this I needed to replace a window regulator and the second one broke (as the one in this video did). Save some time, the cable only costs about $15.

    • @raiderman28
      @raiderman28  2 роки тому

      You are correct on that door release cable, they do break easy, since those vehicles are older now. This vehicle didn’t have alot of miles on it, so the cable gave me no issues

    Hi Paul. Great video! Best camera quality and detailed explanations I have seen so far on one of these.
    I have a 2003 Honda accord. The front passenger side door will not unlock with fob or door control but I do see it trying to unlock ( the lock moves up a little but not enough to fully unlock.) If I push the unlock fob at the same exact time as pulling really hard on the lock I can get it to unlock. Then if I push lock button again the door locks. Do you think this is the actuator or something else. My car guy says, that because the lock moves he doesn't think it is the actuator. Please let me know what you think and thanks for the great video!

    • @raiderman28
      @raiderman28  5 років тому

      Beck O' Gnize it is the actuator. When they start to go out they are very inconsistent in opening and closing. Thats how they start to show signs of failure. I have done many of these

    • @beckognize4561
      @beckognize4561 5 років тому

      Raul Romo thanks for your reply! I’m going to follow your instructions and try and replace it myself since the dealership wanted to charge me 400 dollars to fix it.

    Awesome video thanks. I would add that on the door jamb at the top is a black plug. That plug pulls out giving you better access to the green plastic holder that connects to the rod. Still a tight spot but with a screw driver in that hole and your hand through the other its doable.

    • @raiderman28
      @raiderman28  2 роки тому

    • @raiderman28

      Tori Yuksel i think that harness is the harness for both door locks and windows.

    I have an issue where my remote unlocks the door, but putting the key, or the valet key in the lock and turning it does NOT move the door lock to unlock the door. Is the potential problem in the lock assembly where you had the green clip that was so hard to take off? This became a problem when my battery went dead and I had to call a locksmith to get back into my car!! Your video is VERY well done, and you explain everything which is very helpful, thank you for that.

    • @raiderman28
      @raiderman28  3 роки тому +1

      more than likely yes. the issue would be what connects to the lock cylinder. you will have to take the door panel off, to see if you can spot the issue
