    I like my Sena 50S. Mesh 2.0 and Bluetooth 5.0. Large speakers too. Rain has never been an issue. I sure wish these two outfits would get together and integrate the Mesh/Packtalk environment to recognize each other. I’ve tried several times to pair on the Bluetooth side without good success. I’ve decided to stop intercoursing with those folks, since attempts have always ended in screwing up my pairings.

    Nice review- just ordered the Cardo PackTalk Bold Duo for me and another rider. - we are splitting the cost-
    I don't have a Goldwing but have a Zumo XT. Should I pair the cardo to the phone then the zumo? or just the Zumo and not the phone since the Zumo XT has all the phone features on it when I paired my phone to the Zumo XT--- Thanks.

    I think the 3M tape makes for a much cleaner and secure installation than the clip on. I have it installed on 4 helmets and I’ve never had any issues. It also allows you to put the adapter in locations on the helmet that the clip on won’t.

      Especially with modular helmets. All of the sliders (for visor) and gaps in the helmet shell from the chin bar etc make the slide on clip almost impossible.

    I found that the Packtalks don't work well with Iphones at all. I get constant disconnects, and phone calls, well forget about it. I did find that if I "forget" packtalk from my phone, and set the packtalk only through BRP (sorta like the video shows with the Goldwing) it works like a champ. I have no issues what so ever.

    I just got my black yesterday cycle gear had them on sale for 233 buck. The only problem I had with my bell helmet was the speakers pressing against my ears, it was unbelievably uncomfortable. I hade to remove about a 1/16" of foam from my helmet. I was going to return them because of the pain they were causing but I was able to completely fix that without damaging my helmet but you have to take your time and be carful

    I just got the black edition and it's so painful on my ear I didn't use the booster pads that comes with the set I even cut the foam part of the cheek pad that sits over the speakers still hurts I'm thinking I might have to use my dremel tool and remove some of the surface area where the velcro goes to hold the speakers in place any suggestions would be great

    After selling my 50s, I wanted to pick up a dual pack for the Bold since they've come down in price but going back to micro USB is something I can't bring myself to do in '21. Hopefully they'll update this unit later this year so I can pick two up.

    Thank you,
    Is it thrue that the Black edition only can connect to two devices while the original Bold version can pair to three devices ? ?
    This is what a shop told me but this seems so unlogical to me. Then i can better buy the Bold version and get the 45 mm speakers separetly.
    But what i really want is to connect my phone and gps. But also my special bluetooth earbuds. And with the newer Black version i can not do this and with older Bold version i can do this. While all the other specs are the same. So this is a downfall for the Black edition.

  • @dennisaston3551
    @dennisaston3551 3 роки тому +2

    I commented originally how much I loved my Cardo Packtalk Black. Its amazing in every way EXCEPT: it has an issue with All CB's. It mutes incoming transmissions and slowly brings the volume up over 2-3 seconds until it hits the full volume, which ends up cutting off part of the transmission. According to Cardo this is intentional but it basically means I can't use my Packtalk Black. Waste of $300+. Some might say "but who uses CB any more?" I am in a ride every year that has over 1100 motorcycles and 3 different groups where if you are in leadership you need to be able to communicate. Those leadership groups are over 80 people just on their own between the leadership, road guards, platoon leaders and tailgunners. Bluetooth comms/mesh just won't work for us.
    Also, can you imagine the madness with each departure with 80 people trying to pair their gear again? The only solution that KIND OF works is Sena's MESH 2.0 where you just need to be on the same channel and it works. Its a shame that Cardo made this choice because I dearly want to use my Packtalk Black over my Sena 30k

      @@cruisemansgarage I’ve just bought a Cardo Packtalk Black to put on a new helmet I bought rather than using the speaker kit and cradle to use my existing Packtalk Bold with.
      No problem having both devices paired to my iPhone. And something I found interesting is when I met up with the buds to ride, I did not have to pair my new Cardo to the group. Purchased a Pack Talk black and cannot hear audio from the Goldwing. Called Cardo and they acknowledge problems with the Goldwing and stated that it "may or may not connect" and that there is no fix to the problem. They stated the Cardo system is not guaranteed to work with newer Honda Goldwings. Visited a CycleGear shop and told them of my problem. They instructed me to go to a Honda Dealership where they say a Honda Technician may be able to make it work. They also acknowledge the problem with the Cardo working with the Goldwing. The issue is the blue tooth version on the Goldwing vs Packtalk Black are different which is causing the problem. I plan to call the dealership to see if they know how to fix the problem.
