Moen Low Water Pressure Quick Fix - Free!!

  • In this video we show you how to fix the water pressure issue commonly found in many home water faucets. Its a very simple process that brings back that high water pressure you once had!
It was much worse than this and after 3 filters I’m done buying new ones. Vinegar soaking didn’t work and these Moen filters are not readily available nearby. If you find them online it’s around $8 each! I’ll stick with this method for now.
Either of these kits should work but please read the description for included sizes 🙂

I have lived in my new build home for over FIVE YEARS and complain all the time about the water pressure upstairs in both the sinks and shower. It would take between 5-10 seconds to fill your hands with water to wash your face. The shower water was so weak it wouldn’t ever hit the back wall. Took out the o-rings and BOOM my life has changed FOREVER. Thank you so much for this video!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is exactly what I needed to do. Changed the aerator in 4 faucets today in less than 1/2 an hour. The total cost was less than $30! I Purchased the parts at Lowes and your Video saved me from hiring a plumber, replacing faucets or looking to see if my whole house's water pressure was set correctly! Again, thank you and bless you for sharing.

TY very much. Picked up a key ring at Ace Hardware for $8.99 (has multiple aerator keys). Green fit my Moen aerator (same faucet I believe as in this video). Cleaned aerator gunk & removed the restrictor & works great. Saved me $127 for a new faucet plus $150 for a plumber to install. Excellent!

Thanks for preventing me from buying a new Meon aerator only to have the same issue later. My house is only three years old and I had low pressure in all 3 bathroom sinks, but removing the restricter has then all flowing like new!

The pink disk is the restrictor (the inner piece that you removed). I popped the outer white screen back in place. The flow is still great. The outer screen will catch debris that might clog the aerator. There is a black rubber gasket between the aerator & faucet body. Close the drain so it doesn't get lost. Thanks a ton, for this great video!

Great help! Thank you THV! Moen looks good but everything they design is impractical to adjust (towel rods etc.)
Tip for others: The only problem I encountered is that when I screwed the filter back into the faucet, I accidentally did so at a slight angle. For some reason it allowed me to screw it most of the way in with no resistance but at the end I encountered slight resistance and then several of the dark gray projections that fit around the key broke off, leaving me no way to remove and reset it. I didn't make this mistake on the 2nd sink. Both faucets now run great but "mine" shoots out at a slight angle. I can live with it but it'll slightly annoy me every morning. ;-)

Never discard the screen or the pink piece under the screen. That will affect the water turbulence coming out of the faucet, the restrictor itself is the tiny rubber O-ring under that top screen. Only discard that!

For those who find it too forceful when you remove the pink layer (I couldn't put the white disc back on its own, it wouldnt stay put) I find removing the little small rubber washer within the pink one and then putting it all back together without that little round washer on the pink part helped provide a good "medium" flow between too forceful and not enough. it felt like a good compromise because without the pink, the water came out so forceful it splattered everywhere

I was so happy that for some reason I saved the box. The Fossett came in, and it had the key in it. Woo hoo I was able to get the aerator out but I can’t get the white part off… Curses.
I can see the water flow is fine and it’s just the aerator. That is the problem.
I’m soaking the aerator in vinegar now, hoping that it will loosen up and let me twist that white part off.
Thank you so much for posting. If anyone reading this had trouble getting the white part off and actually got it off, please let me know. Thank you.
Update: I used a different plier that grabbed from the top instead of the sides, and the white part came off and now it’s all fixed! I have awesome water flow for the first time in at least a year. It was a real head scratcher. yeah, I was scratching my head for a year over it .

I wasn't never able to get it in at the correct angle and now, the filter just drops after attempting to screw it back in. • @monkeyb1820
    @monkeyb1820 3 роки тому +1

our house is new construction built in 2015, came with Moen faucets. The bathroom ones look similar to this, but fortunately the filter is not recessed and no key is needed. First thing I did was take all the restrictors out of the sink faucets. I just did kitchen filter for first time and it was nasty. I don't even want to know what was gunking it up, probably disintegrated roach parts. The only way to clean it up was to put it in a mini-rubbermaid container with some vinegar, put the top on, shake vigorously, change out the vinegar like 3 times. And examine your outdoor spigots carefully. Ours came with some kind of brass restrictor pieces that were kind of a hassle to remove, but I removed those too.

My LL replaced my old crappy faucet (that was spraying too hard) her old basic one from her kitchen instead of getting something new. It’s a moen kitchen faucet that basically is like this-what a freaking nightmare. It looks pretty but operates abt 80% worse than the broken 30yr old plastic no name crap that was on there. The water pressure is so bad I mentioned it to her & how impossible it was to clean anything and she was like “tell me abt it”. I’ve already been through cleaning lime deposits etc. it’s the damn faucet. I removed the screen on front & it didn’t look like this, but there was a cap above the filter with smaller holes. Removing screen did absolutely nothing to change the water pressure like your (just made it worse actually). Is it possible the water regulator is located elsewhere on a kitchen model? Thanks for the vid
