I just don't understand how we went from toys are for children and there's no girl/boy toys, etc to NOW if a girl likes trucks and a boy likes the kitchen, there's something WRONG with them that needs medical attention??!! It's so regressive and against everything i was raised to believe.
@C-U-Never-Troll the slippery slope goes down both sides and ends in the same chaotic abyss. And not just this issue! I know I'm hitting all the clichés here lol but when you see the pendulum swinging way too f'ing far, you know the responsive swing is going to have a strong momentum. We need to learn how to brake this system we humans rotate around issues of society.
I don’t think it started with people believing it. I think it started with AGPs and misogynists and disrupters who enjoy invading women’s spaces , who perpetuated this ridiculous claim as an excuse. Then bad actors with various motivations pushed it and it got taken up by post modernists, wokeists and - very sadly - vulnerable children.
It's an extremely homophobic ideology! I was a Tom boy when I hit my teens and I guarantee I would have been a victim of this insanity. Now I'm not gay but folk I know who are gay and lesbian all say the same thing, Whats wrong with being a Fem boy or a Tom/ Butch girl? This ideology is one that erases Gay/Masc/Fem kids!
Nope. This should never have gotten to this point. It should be illegal to perform any of these procedures on minors. The parents should have total control and the right to say no. Who cares if the child is upset. Chances are they will get over it. As a parent, I couldn't live with myself if I didn't do everything possible to stop this and ended up with a permently damaged child.
While I agree with you, sadly legal means almost nothing in cultures where laws aren’t enforced. And the left hates Trump so much that they think they’re being righteous to go against any laws that he creates. My fear is that he just pushed these procedures deeper into the “we’re so cool and rebellious” territory we may never be able to stop them.
The movement to medicate any discomfort is part of the root problem. With medicating discomfort also comes distractions - for adults as, specifically - extra work hours, mindless scrolling, Netflix binging…and with those distractions we increase our discomfort with discomfort and our inability to handle our children’s discomfort. So who’s dysphoria/anxiety/overwhelm is really being medicated? Susan Evans (today in a Genspect talk), brought up that we’re really treating the adults’ anxiety of having to manage the discomfort and distress of children. We give adults a medication option, and pretty soon we’re all taking that “easy” and lucrative magic potion/option, as a society. But the spell is being broken.
There needs to be a full restoration of Marion protections . We need a return to the principle of children's right to grow and develop being unalienable, not able to be negotiated away, regardless of whether families agree to their developmental disruption, and regardless of nominal " consent" from the child .Children cannot consent to elective developmental disruption or sterilization. And neither should parents or the state be able to choose elective developmental disruption or sterilization for a child.
I think any analysis of the Dutch Model that doesn't focus on the scale-swapping in key studies will give the " researcher - clinicians " too much credit .
Just a quick reminder about the Dutch protocol. At least 2/70 died (loss to follow up). 1/70 was heterosexual. The "positive" results are entirely reliant on switching a 12 question survey whereby the switch from boys to girls or vice versa automatically made certain questions utterly inappropriate and guarantee "positive" results.
Absolutely well said Sasha.. why is the burden always on the parents. Societal and peer pressure is loud to children and all humans. The clinicians are definitely responsible as are the academic institutions that have spent so much energy manipulating young adults into progressive and unhealthy ideologies.
Laser hair removal might be irreversible but male athletes zap their hair in certain sports & some men just aren't hairy! Not exactly devastating like "b0ttom surgery"!
I was both as a kid: gender conforming and non-conforming. My mom would dress us up (3 girls) in matching dresses, then I’d rip it off and put on pants to tumble in the fields near my house (1970’s, Rio Cuarto, Argentina). I was just being a rambunctious kid. We’re so detached from nature and normal human behavior these days that we no longer recognize when and where our focus and attention is needed and when and where we need to let kids be kids.
My sister was "non-conforming" which is to say she liked her older brothers, liked football and quickly realised that if you wear a dress and get it dirty you get told off but boys wearing shorts don't get told off for grass stains or muddy knees to the same extent. The girls in her class had games that were strict and excluded and demanded you to act a certain way. The boys had chaos and accepted anyone who wanted to have fun. I dread to think what would have happened if she'd have grown up 20 years later.
I wonder how many adult transitioners have very small family resources and support to begin with? I know it varies..but just thinking...i was the sole adult in my kids life other than the progressive mentors and the college itself which is where the binding started.
This is a far different issue. Being a goth or hipster didn't involve your family, irreversible medical and surgical interventions, and the endorsement of the education and medical and legal establishments.
My gay German uncles moved to the Netherlands and were accepted as a couple. What I regret is just a body that works poorly. Surgeries are not good for people. I think SSRIs make people compliant.
No. Absolutely not. Denying a child their full natal puberty, cognitive and reproductive and socio-sexual development is insane and utterly regressive concept.

Yeah we can never not go too extreme either way it seems 😢

Yes and why is the left pushing regressive stereotypes? So we’re all a blank slate except kids who supposedly in the wrong gender? Make it make sense

It's been proven the Dutch studies were flawed and biased. SEGM wrote an excellent critic on the studies.
24:19 yep my spidery senses went off as well because I'm a feminist. This stunk of hating women or of hating being women from the start
7 hrs ago this upload? Are you back? I saw your announcement that you would end the podcast. Very happy if you are back

The scale swapping makes the scale invalid and any outcome useless.

There is nothing truly progressive about any of this. The entire concept is based in regressive sexism.

Well said.
Oooh! Pretty good pronunciation of 'Marieke den Ouden' by Sasha! :)
Where can we find the survey?

I think gender/woke etc will go like the hipsters.
There will be no surrender, just one day you will realise you haven't seen or heard of it for ages.
Except there are so many young men and women harmed by it…this is why I believe it won’t fizzle out but rather need to be exposed.

This sounds much more reasonable.
