I'm so glad I came across your UA-cam channel. I've watched at least ?20? of these and have shared them. I work in mental healthcare, and it's appalling what is being done to these children and vulnerable adults. And I'd be fired for even suggesting something remotely like anything that you brave people talk about. Anything other than joy that children are having their minds and bodies and families sacrificed to this ideology.
I generally restrain from saying 'gender'. Particularly since the term is so convoluted now. However, Bret and Heather say in their book, ' gender is the expression of sex'. And okay sure. I can subscribe to that. With that in mind, if you're male but you express femininity, that does NOT change your sex. Period. nuff-said. 🐿
I agree - and further . . . Expression of sex can only be described as sterotypes . . . the very stereotypes that the people pushing this insanity are trying destroy.
That's as stupid of a definition of "gender" as any other (not surprising given the source). Outside of the grammatical usage (which doesn't really exist in English) and as a puritanical euphemism for "biological sex", there's just no useful meaning to the word. People of sound mind should never use it.
Yes. There's no behavior that changes your sex, whether or not someone arbitrarily labels that behavior "gender". ("Gender" was just a synonym for "sex" for centuries in the English language, until the 1960s.)
Interesting, I mostly agree.. but I wonder does that mean if you are a man but present feminine your gender is still male because it is being embodied by a male body? It seems like a grey area with that line of logic
Mine says sex: female. Gender : female. My file has a red flag on it that says i am a male that transitioned because they don't know when i am dressed or not
A great podcast. Many unanswered questions answered. It's such a relief to know that finally this unbelievably fraught, polarised/polarising and misunderstood issue is moving forward in a way that promises to provide answers and offer some much needed clarity.
I think we should simplify and just basically state the gender is the same as the biological sex and all this gender fluidity is just differences in personality
Let’s just be real and say “gender” is just a set of sexist expectations based on sex, it’s not an identity. You’re right about the differences in personality
Great discussion. I appreciated the extra clarifications - nice addition to your podcasts. “Gender” - Such a fraught term at this point but I agree it can still have some use, outside of laws, regulations and other legal documents.
in Dutch gender is translated to 'geslacht' which means 'mans privates' and also chicken been 'geslacht/slaughtered'. so I don't have nothing special with the word 'gender' and always relate 'geslacht/slaughtered' to the chicken because that's the most common explanation......... 🤷♀️
I watched a clip of Olsen Kennedy a couple of years ago where she was passionately arguing that minors can be consent to mastectomy because they make choices like which college to go to. She also asserted that mastectomy isn't a big deal because, if the child changes her mind, she can just get breast implants later.
Quite a non scientific non common sense assertion Kennedy Olsen makes, about simply getting ready implants to replace natural female breasts. treating them as nothing more than aesthic appendages, and not a vital organ and how we feed and sustain our offspring.
So so many issues with that but one not often picked up on is the disrespect for mother's and the female body and just seeing it as a sex object. If the purpose of breasts is too look good for men maybe a implant would work. If they are for feeding babies that would be useless.
One of the things that has been difficult with this discussion is that gender is treated by gender ideologists the same way the religious use the word spiritual: they commandeer it and make the expectation that --use of the word means accepting their worldview -- such that speaking about things in an analytical way presupposes a position. It's a little tough to describe, but it is made difficult on purpose. For example, if you want to talk about an induced spiritual experience like how fasting or the church music experience can lead people to feel what is commonly described as "being close to god" or seeing visions, it's made difficult to talk about it without seeming as though you're taking the position that all spirituality requires a god to exist. Anyway, keep on doing what you do! It's glaringly apparent that you're approaching this from a place of not trying to hurt people, and that's a tough line to walk.
Whew the Gen Z of it all though. The woman is presenting some great information but I wish she would slow down just a bit when she speaks. I'm only 33 and I had to rewind a few times to really take in what she was saying ❤
Try playing at .75 I am not 33 😉 and I am have a hard time keeping up.But that is part of the experience. I bet if we heard her every day, we would become fluent. Adaptation is a great thing
You could just get the UA-cam-generated transcript of the conversation, and then read it while listening to the video. To get the transcript, follow these steps: Under the video, click on "more," and then scroll down until you see "Show transcript." Click on it. When the transcript has appeared beside the video, click on the three dots at the top of the transcript (to the right of word "Transcript"). Then click on "Toggle timestamps," which will remove the time stamps from the transcript. Then drag your mouse across the whole transcript, until you have it all highlighted. Keep going all the way down to the end of the transcript - or keep dragging until the scroll icon (which moves up and down the vertical scroll bar, on the right side of the transcript), which moves down as you drag down, jumps up (this means you have reached the end). Then copy it (Ctrl+C), and paste it into a word-processing program like Microsoft Word. Lastly, remove the paragraph breaks from the pasted text: Do Ctrl+F to bring up the Search dialogue box. In the lower-left corner of that box, click on "More," then click on "Special" and select "Paragraph Mark" from the menu. In the "Find what" field you now have this: ^p. Click on Replace, and put a blank space into the "Replace with" field. Then click on "Replace all." This will remove all the paragraph breaks in the pasted text and replace them with a blank space. Now you have the whole text of the conversation in one big block - with a few transcription errors (plus UA-cam also censors words like "fuck", etc.).
she talks one hour in 5 minutes as in most of my favorite vid's. I'm still thinking what they say while they're half an hour further, so I miss most of the information and get lost! so next vid, unfortunately...............
I'm 53 and I'm borderline ADHD. I'm wanting her to speed up. Just kidding but I really can't follow them quite easily. You might be able to get a transcript of this if you contact them or you could slow down the playback time.
For me ot wasn't the speed but that she used a lot of mental shortcuts, without much explaining the context for lay listeners such as me, who knows next to nothing about law. And sometimes it was hard to follow because she was also doing some digressions etc.
Goodness yes. Wreaks total havoc in healthcare for a myriad of reaons and can vastly effect the care a pt recieves. Shame on thm if they hve been doing tht
First, Glenna says language is everything. Then, when Stella wants to explore the terms masculine and remind as descriptors for majority of male or female behaviors, both Glenna and Sasha looked frustrated and impatient. When Glenna said there are better terms and Stella pointed out that sex has been conflated to mean intercourse, they would not finish the thought with her. So frustrating for me to watch this dismissive behavior about a fundamental issue in this whole situation.
There's nothing funny about legal information, legal complexity, etc. Levity undermines the advocacy (IMO). The issues are not that complicated - lawyers can certainly explain them in ways that an Irish psychotherapist can understand. For what it's worth, it may be that your commitment to using "gender" (instead of sex-based stereotypes) will have to be dispensed with in order to protect "sex" under law for minors and women. Yes, the podcast may need a new name. Your enthusiasm at finally having access to an American attorney is understandable, but much of the conversation was under-prepared (considering that it was about law) and therefore premature and ill-advised (considering the legal stakes). Sincerely, a disappointed (legal professional) supporter of your work in general.
Aw Sasha it sounds like you have another cold? I hope you’re taking high strength vitamin D3 we all need it all year round not just to fight off viruses but also all pathogens and cancers! Sorry you probably already know this 😊
I disagree with Stella on her term of gender. Glenna is right. What Stella is describing is gender stereotypes not gender. You can still say there are male traits when discussing sex.
Very informative session, but Ms. Goldis undermines her credibility, while at the same time insulting thousands of public servants, when flippantly stating that Dr. Rachel Levine is an Admiral in "some service nobody's ever heard of". There are 8 Uniformed Services in the United States, one of which is US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. Levine is an Admiral in the USPHSCC; Dr. Vivek Murthy is a General -hence the title Surgeon General and the uniform. You may not like or agree with Levines policy positions -but don't denigrate the office, or the thousands of members of the USPHSCC who serve this country.
Who is "we" in this scenario? If you mean "women", please don't speak for me. I don't care whether a woman who knows what a woman is supports the Trump or Biden admin, although I personally think one of the choices is unwise, particularly in this regard.
I've never liked her much, she's not my cup of tea but this is a broad church. Politics are less important than protecting women and children. We have to work together to move forward and if she reaches some people, great! I do find it a bit strange for people to jump from life long Labour or Democrat to Trump! It's a step too far for me! Still. we need to stick together to take on these harmful ideas.
I'm not American, but I think attitudes like this are part of the reason why so many former Democrats voted for Trump in this last election. There's this tendency in the party to go on and on about how important democracy is, but then they turn around and ostracise, bully and discredit anyone who decides to vote differently than them.
I'm so glad I came across your UA-cam channel. I've watched at least ?20? of these and have shared them. I work in mental healthcare, and it's appalling what is being done to these children and vulnerable adults. And I'd be fired for even suggesting something remotely like anything that you brave people talk about. “Fraud” is DEFINITELY better than “public nuisance” because fraud garners treble damages in successful civil suits (that is, three times the payout).

I always say sex, never gender. Male and female created he them.

From a medical record at a government medical facility: “sex: male; gender: woman when dressed, man when undressed”. About a year ago.
Mine says sex: female. Gender : female.
My file has a red flag on it that says i am a male that transitioned because they don't know when i am dressed or not
@ArtU4All 🙃 😅 😂
49:14 Thoroughly enjoyed Sasha's facial response
This is wonderful, very complex and hopeful...is there any HOPE for Canada?
Thank you all three of you. Listened to you just before the storm hits Bolton, UK. ❤️🇬🇧❌❌
Burton UK and this weather is hideous. Stay safe up there in the North.
Thank you Glenna for the clear explanation of what these lawsuits are and how they might change the laws.
A great podcast. Many unanswered questions answered. It's such a relief to know that finally this unbelievably fraught, polarised/polarising and misunderstood issue is moving forward in a way that promises to provide answers and offer some much needed clarity.
The lawsuits to the different states is somewhat like what Alberta, Canada is going through; it has put restrictions on the puberty blockers for kids.
@GenderWiderLens I am super interested in hearing your take on the US Supreme Court Arguments from Wednesday.
An excellent and helpful discussion. Thank you.
Glenna! Big fan of her Substack. How nice to see her as a guest here now. Can’t wait to watch & listen to this.
I think we should simplify and just basically state the gender is the same as the biological sex and all this gender fluidity is just differences in personality
Any identity that is fluid and self-proclaimed is completely useless. We might as well categorize people by what they ate for lunch.
Let’s just be real and say “gender” is just a set of sexist expectations based on sex, it’s not an identity. You’re right about the differences in personality
This might have been my favorite episode thus far. Amazing!
Excellent guest and conversation.

Awesome episode. So informative.
thanks for this ❤
Great ep! Awesome guest
When ppl say gender is a social construct there is room for that but the key question should be which society? It's entirely societally specific
You guys are just great..
In terms of a backlash from teachers who want to teach nonsense around gender. If they abolish the department of education then there's no problem.

I live in Ireland and a total stranger in twitter told me about GRA in law . Horrified I was/am
Is there some background music getting picked up on one of the microphones?
Glenna Goldis! Unyielding Bicyclist!
Love this. Thank you.

hi there/hope you dont mind me asking/stella mentioned the barnum effect in one of your videos/can you remember which guest you were talking to/thanks
I think that was in the episode with Phil Illy.

* masculine and feminine. Sorry I can't edit comments on this device.
Funny thing. The attorney arguing against the law admitted the he thinks gender is fluid. So its not an immudible aspect.
@49:00 even children’s play is influenced by social norms
Purpose based application: if a guy wants a prescription for the pill to feel more feminine the answer is no. Is this sex based discrimination
Words in some languages are gendered. People are not.
Almost first!

I've lost all respect for KJK since she outed herself as a Trump supporter. We don't need people like her speaking for us.
Are you able to think of any reasons why so many support Trump?
I can think of quite a few including ending gender affirming care on minors.
Who is "we" in this scenario? If you mean "women", please don't speak for me. I don't care whether a woman who knows what a woman is supports the Trump or Biden admin, although I personally think one of the choices is unwise, particularly in this regard.
