This is why I prefer 3rd over 4th gen, a lot of the car can be disassembled and fixed without a whole lot of hassle, and the parts are readily available without just covering up the old stuff. Even just swapping out the upholstery for a different color out of a donor car doesn't involve removing the entire dash to do so like other vehicles, the dashboards stay black across the entire lineup.
That stock board was perfectly repairable before these hacks damaged it. On a separate and more important note, that replacement looks like TRASH with that ridge in the middle. Currently doing research because my stock board is beyond saving. Looks like only one company is making a replacement one and is being rebranded by different vendors and THEY ALL LOOK LIKE GARBAGE. Look's like my search will be moving on to finding a salvageable factory one. Unacceptable for companies to be turning out poor products like this and charge an arm and a leg for it.
@Snicker Doodle Who the fuck do you think you are? You must be some pitiful angry old man that just figured out how a computer works. Apparently what ever kind of scumbag you are, your age clearly matches your IQ. I've had my Camaro for 14 years, and am currently $6k plus into my engine swap and interior restoration. Second of all you old bastard, I don't take money from the government. So why don't you go back your reclining chair before you get a brain aneurysm. Fucking stupid.
@@RidinDirtyOutdoors oh really? Because if you do any kind of research on these, the overall consensus is that they are low quality trash. I've seen these cheap ABS headliners in person and they all seem to have the same issues. If you like yours then good for you, but if we accept low quality reproduction parts for our cars, then thats the only thing that we'll get.
@@BackPainGarage I mean the quality of it is better than the original. And about 80% of us had them falling down in our faces. No where did I say it’s top notch, never produce anything better. All I’m saying is it’s a decent replacement option that I don’t think is trash.
@@RidinDirtyOutdoors i get that, while something is definitely better than nothing it could still be better. If they would at the very least fix the issue with it sagging in the middle by the windshield, i would consider buying one. I met a guy once who had one that the board itself sagged like i said and said he tried to glue on the oem headliner clips to support it, glue didnt stick to the ABS, and then tried to plastic weld the clips on and that didn't hold either. All the other issues with crappy fabric and poor fitment/etc can be easily fixed most of the time. When the time comes for my interior to get some attention(in the middle of an LS swap) i fully intend on finding a good oem fiber board and reinforce it with fiberglass to make it last. Either that or try to make my own or if that doesn't work, see if i can find an upholstery shop that can.
Not a great video. I need to see ALL the details of getting my headliner out. How to release ALL the plastic that is holding out in place, in detail, is what's required. Time to re do this video.
Finally a video for a hard top everywhere I looked it was t-top headliners ! Good video guys keep on with the 3rd gen stuff I just subbed .

Good job guys. all the way from Saudi.
Very nice work, which analog and digital meters are there ? End of the video
vid never showed the seat belt removal
Did you use the little white plastic clips in the front of the headliner when reinstalling? I ordered this headliner but how do you get the clips In?
No they don’t. The claim it won’t sag but they send you some Velcro strips.
What about the seat belts ?
the seatbelt will slide out of the headliner
I'll be signing up for a catalog if they have one for firebirds. Fixing to start a father-son project on a 91 Firebird.

Lol chill, don’t buy the product. Plenty of us have and it looks way better than the stock board TRASH.
