So quite a few people seem a bit annoyed with this video. For anyone who didn't catch it, this is obviously a joke about me complaining about the little pointless things that I noticed from driving this car for 5 years, 3 of those years daily. The blower motor is weak, it has a little squeak, I'm lacking a cup holder, and the front end scrapes like every other lowered car..boo hoo. I don't mention anything I dislike about the ls swap itself, well because, what's not to like about an ls swap??!? Larry Smithart someone always has some kind of smart ass I mean dumbass shit to say. A backup cam is very useful. Like all I can do is just tell myself the world is so full of stupid people and it’s just getting worse. 🤦♂️

My Camero has a whopping 235 hp with 300lbs tq.Back in the 90s it was a fast car if you can believe it. My Camero only has 19thousand original miles. It is still original today but this coming summer I plan on just adding full exhaust just for some sound and some power. But the look of the 92 anniversary Z28 IS AWESOME
Your car us coming along great!! My favorite 3rd gen by far!! One gripe I have on 3rd gens....most of them suffer from major rust under the A/C blower along where the strut tower and firewall meet. You can get a pair of door cup holders from a 91-92 firebird or trans am, they fit on the lower front of the doors and also have a small pocket to put other stuff, They can be made to work on any 82-92 Camaro or TA, Try Ebay or Thirdgen.org, there are other third gen TA and Camaro specific sites too.
My 87 5.7 was a complete squeak and rattle trap. Couldn't live with it today. Was too cool to notice back then. Kinda of a POS now that I think about it.
I don't know if its after market but my 92 Trans Am had long plastic cubby things that could be bolted to the lower part of the door that had a spot for a cup, but when I got the car they were sitting in the trunk. So I think they might take up leg room. So I would just open up the center council and put my cups and cans in there but I started damaging the door when I'd pull the e brake for parking. Then for the squeak and sound of washers rattling I fixed by paying a little extra and replacing all the sway bar bushings and end links with dealership bushings. For turning into drive ways with dips that cause scrapes I try when I can to turn in at a angle and I avoid a lot more scrapes vs pulling straight in. Then for scraping the exhaust, I learned how to go over speed bumps in parking lots with good placement to put the exhaust through the space between the two bumps.
I bought 2 of those folding plastic cup holders, typically found on boats. The style where it hinges out from the bottom and the cup holding ring pops up. I put them on the door panels, I took some aluminum to make a backing plate on the inside of the door panel and riveted the cup holders to that backing plate sandwiching the door panel, the aluminum plate spreads out the load and is a secure point for the rivets. It works great, they fold up out of the way, and nobody even notices them... Except for fellow 3rd gen owners who want cup holders
1 door cup holders from firebird will fit. A center console from a 4th gen will fit but you will need a thirdgen firebird or custom radio/HVAC pod that will give you 4 cup holders. Good Thing about a custom radio pod is you can make room for a full 2 din radio. Your blower motor is bad. Either a ground issue or the vacuum valve in the controls is leaking and not opening the selected vents. Also there is several junctions in the duct work sealed with foam that foam dries and turns to dust and all the air leaks out. Or possibly the heater selection valve vacuum line isn't capped off sine you don't have one. Or worse you are applying vacuum to both those lines under the hood. Do you hear a vacuum leak sound if you lean down to the AC controls as you so different selections if you do it's leaking and that means all but defrost vents are mostly closed off. I have 15 year old macco paint on my 89 Firebird. I've never had an issue with the c piller but better than the new ones.
91 k series had optional cup holders that bolted on the lower part of the dash... my current 89 has the cup holder pod, my last one did not. As for the blower motor you can retrofit a blower for a g10 Chevy van in to help with output. I guess the heater box/duct on the Van's required a much more powerful blower
I can back it up just fine. Just on a narrow street, with a harness, stiff fixed back seat, and roll bar in the way, it can make seeing out the side with that pillar a bit...difficult. Of course, comparing that to backing out my outback with a 3rd side window in that spot, it seems a lot worse than it is.
I found a way to fix blower volume. Underneath the hood the front evaporator case is open. I fut some soft foam , and cut a piece of 1/4 thick rubber that extended 3/8 of an inch past sides slid it in and put a few spots of black silicone to lock in place. Doubled the air out of vents and dropped the temp about 6° . Running 4 years no issues.
you realize most naturally aspirated 4 bangers make more hp from the factory than these cars did right? and youve got that backwards.... this car is loaded with emissions... modern cars are loaded with emmissions reducers.... also this cars from the 80s stock it would have had a ton of emission reducers as well... besides what do you have against clean air? you not like breathing? not to mention its a modern ls engine..... so im pretty sure it meets modern emission standards, and HOW tell me HOW this is more impressive than a hellcat or a demon? i think not...
Lsxmatt, I dont have cup holders in my vehicle too and use to have the drink between my legs as well. One trick I've learned is bring an old worm out pair of shoes you dont use anymore and stick them in the passenger seat or somewhere they will stay in place, stick your drink in it. Works like a charm. Nice video. Been thinking of getting an old iroc in memory of my dad that passed a little over a year ago. I think I'm going to go through with it and do the ls swap. Thanks again.
The bumper paint flaking is probably because they didn't add flex additive to the paint. Also did they spray the bumpers with primer before shooting color? I believe there may be a product besides the flex additive that can be applied prior to shooting color that will help with adhesion of the paint. Years ago I owned an 83 Camaro and painted two different colors over the years and never had cracking or flaking on the flexible body panels. I used a fill and sand primer to start and a flex agent in the paint and clear coat.
My 88 iroc had 2 cup holders, 1 in each door panel. Also my mach 1 has that same squeak after i did rear suspension, its the poly bushings. Cant remember what grease i used but fixed it
Hey brother you may or may not know this but the doors that direct air in your cars heat and air system are vacuum controlled. If you have a vacuum leak in the line going into the firewall or in any of the lines in the manifold under the dash then it might not be properly directing air. I've had this issue in several of the 3rd gens I've owned and even in the C5 Corvette I'm currently building. What happens is since theres not enough vacuum or no vacuum at all, the blend door just kinda sits in a neutral spot and blows a little air out of every vent instead of focusing all the air where you're telling it to go and you think its weak. Do this, move your selector to the front vents and turn the fan all the way up. Can you actually hear the fan running full force? If so then feel for air at the defroster and feel for air at the vents that blow uder the dash. If you're feeling a little air coming out of all of them equally then thats your issue. Once you find the vacuum leak and fix it then you'll be able to focus air to one of the 3 zones and it'll be blowing out hard like it should.👍
Also I have never seen another 92 Z28 in the condition like my car.You picked a great car too build. As for my Z28 I plan on leaving it stock except for exhaust lol.Back in the day I thought it was fast with 235hp but compared to my other cars in my collection it's really slow but very iconic because you just don't see many of them on the roads anymore
Hey man. Love that car. I owned an 84 z28 and an 85 Firebird. Neither of them had cup holders. What I did was I went to a local AutoZone here in RI and bought cup holders there. It's actually a plastic black rectangualar board if you will that you push down between the console and the passenger seat with two cup holders at the top of it. Pretty convenient especially for a manual trans. Look intot hat if its important enough. Take care!
All these years drivin a camero I never thought of wedging my drink in the door handle. I actually went to the trouble of making a cup holder. I took the oil filter from my 82 full size blazer at the time cut the top off riveted a 1-inch aluminum strap to the side and put 2 90-degree bends in it so that it mounted next to the center console hooking to the ash tray. I also added a little piece of velcro under the aluminum strap for added stability. I could fit Big-gulps in it. I think it may have been a good selling feature when I sold it. LOL
Haha thats awesome. Yea alot of guys messaged me with alternatives to the missing cup holders. Im thinking I might install one of those flip down fold up holders next to the console🤔
low airflow is caused from the AC evaporator clogging with dirt from the inlet in the cowl. make sure the drain is not clogged first, remove the blower resistor and you should see the clean side of the core. spray short burst of water with a hose and nozzle toward the base. watch the drain so it doest get blocked, it will wash in the car if it blocks or if you dont give it time to drain.
Paint kinda looks like no flex additive. I have a simillar problem with mine rear bumper only. I was told flex additive was not needed with a slow reducer from multiple people, including a body shop and paint supplier. They were wrong. 2 good friends help me they just hadn't done much plastics, mostly all steel vehicles. Still very HAPPY with paint overall.
a/c blower is most likely the vent/plenum gaskets... they are just foam and disentigrate after a few years... most of your air is escaping behind the dash... also, the evaporator and heater core could be dirty. they clog with dirt over time.. cabin air filters werent a priority back then...
Not sure if someone touched on it already (I didn't scroll through all the comments), but I found a cup holder 'fix' for my '87 IROC. My center console was equipped with a clock just in front of the compartment and behind the window / rear hatch release switches. I removed the guts of the clock leaving the housing. Lining the housing of the clock with some extra floor carpeting cleaned up the look. My 5.7L is an automatic, so I'm not working the shifter. There could be some interference there with arm movement. But it worked for me.
The rear hatch is notorious for squeak. You can stop it...temporarily. work on the latch and lift supports with lube, alignment, wrap electrical tape around metal-to-metal contact points etc. I love the third gen F bodies. In fact, all of the '90's GM cars were great! Especially the full size trucks.
Yah man awesome you would love my 92 lol I still have the original tires on it and like I said completely stock but this summer I plan on doing exhaust. I also own 4shelby mustangs that I love and 3 foxbody mustangs and also a black and gold 87 GTA but the number one car in my collection is my Z28 and plan on never selling it
I hate the doors on my 3rd gen! They're super heavy I've actually broken 2 of the inside handles just from pulling on them to open the door. And definitely agree with the cup holder situation!
have you ever been seen how Toyota hinged the long doors on the sc300. it's a neat double hinge type of thing so the front of the door comes away from the body too. gives way more room with the long doors. I always wished someone would design a bolt on hinge like that.
This is why i did the 4thgen center consle swap..2 cupholders.mind you..they are lack luster placement with a manual car..its better than nothing. As for the blower motor/vent..take the dash pad off and seal up the ducting.remover the blower motor and make sure the fins arent brokem.they are cheap plastic that break over time from degrading.my car doesnt squeak but sure as hell has all the 80's gm rattles from panels coming loose lol
Check your spare tire for the squeak. I have the same sound because the tire is just bouncing around. My bracket is rusted through but yours might just be loose.
Hey Matt the car looks great I've not been watching for a while so I have to go back to see the rest of the build but, I had a 87 IROC Z back in the day pirchased new and for some reason I had that same noise in the rear it was under warranty but they could never fix it I had to play around with it myself ,I was a tech back then I think I found the noise to be a bushing for the rear shock I just kept spraying WD40 on it to find it hope this helps and also the paint on the rear bumper maybe you can just remove it and have it painted
I have a 1984 z28 ive been doing auto body n painting for over 30 yrs on your rear bumper issue with peeling need to figure out what color sealer they use try to match next closest possible that color usually 3/4 coats of color you should be good to go
My 91 formula has cupholders attached to the door. I'm sure they could be retrofitted to a camaro. Good luck finding any though... i have a semi broken one and am changing the interior to black from grey and I can't find any
Good video. I have had MAACO paint 2 cars that I have owned. They take a lot of crap from people on the internet, but here is the deal. YOU gotta get the top of the line paint job. The one that costs like 17 hundred. The cheap paint jobs they CAN do just do not hold up well. Your car's paint looks great 2 years running.
Well they didn’t exactly have the mall in mind when they designed these cars. These cars were supposed to emulate the old school muscle cars and would have had even more power than the old ones but the epa kinda killed them
Hey bro I have a 91 ta clone convertible and I have cup holders oe. And I have an ac delete and I am using a b motor from a grand marquis and I plan on doing the Lamborghini door hinges they a set that opens normally and opens upwards I'll show you pics the cupholders bolt in using existing holes in the door
I have a 91 Firebird, which is still part of the third generation body style, and the cup holder is on the door, at the bottom, as part of the door pocket, not the best cup holder but it's there
great vid! eventually when i find myself with some extra cash i hope to have an end result similar to your beautiful beast. i drive a 1990 RS - 3.1L v6. i baby the car as it is all original. the motor isnt anything crazy but it is so much fun to drive in general, at any speed. not sure who likes to look at the car more, the elders or the youngsters! love third gen maro’s/firebirds. take care all
3 the doors dont blow off at high speeds like ferraris and every other car designed for top speed records. 2 watch out for parkinglot and driveway entries. 1 fix it
The door situation is alot better with factory seats. The high bolsters of the fixed back seats just make it a little more annoying getting in and out in tight spaces.
Nice car! Make sure that air can't escape anywhere except out of the vents. Had a small air leak in my Firebird Gta in the vent system and that made it crap....didn't blow shit. Very sensitive so make everything air tight
I learned to drive in a 350 swapped '86 Trans Am, true posi rear, and ram air intake, car was making around 400HP, I took my fucking driving test in it. If you can't back one up, that's on you.
You also probably didn’t have fixed back seats, a harness, or roll cage to deal with. This video is about issues with MY car, not thirdgens in general.
No, I didn't, however I had all the above in the first car I bought at 16, a 1968 Buick GS400. Still somehow managed. I'm now building a '95 Camaro with a cage and harness and....wow, I still don't have these problems. Admit you just hate the car.
Hey there buddy..I'm not sure if you got a the 4th gen rearend.but my question to you is if so what's the best brake kit setup to buy with all the brake hoses
Yea thats just for the video. With the summer tires and the cold it spins really bad. Only way to keep it straight and get some good sound is to short shift.
Yea Im barely hanging on. The biggest thing is the cold, It makes me not want to work on it. Driving it isnt so bad. Once the first snow hits it wont be coming out, so Ill have to get creative with content🤔
Hey Matt as far as cup holders go I feel your pain and I have a 1990 formula. They do not come with cup holders I can assure you that. Maisel Lucien has been to shove my Red Bull can and Kool-Aid between the seat belt and the console which kind of like your door handle solution is just kind of temporary reprieve. So I bought one at the auto parts store the other day that it is a wedge style to cup holder that I generally will keep to the right of my console and it fits right in between my console and the passenger seat and even with spirited driving it's stays put. I also have a standard shift so I know all about the clutch issues in trying to keep the drink between your legs nightmare
The cup holder is easy, I got that solved when I was like 16, there is a old Taco Bell Godzilla promotional cup holder thing that happen to be the exact fitment to hang on the window and rest on the armrest securely as heck
As much as we all wish it did, LS swap doesnt make these cars any less of an 80s shitbox but that's the whole reason we love 3rd gens simply gorgeous death traps that'll rattle your ears off and send you to the chiropractor before you even wrap it around a pole but you'll never stop smiling
You can rip apart the rear suspension all you want, you wont find that squeak. It comes from the hatch moving around while it flexes during driving. I noticed yours squeaks waaay less than mine but I'd say that comes from the cage
Front chin spoiler issue? Fix the hump in your driveway Matt. That's a pretty steep hump by my local standards. But I feel you brother. I have to take special care with my 5th Gen SS when I visit my mother.
The driveway actually has been fixed, you should have seen it before! The nose would have gotten ripped off in one pull in. I tend to cut the wheel all the way to one side when backing out. If I can maneuver the nose in and out on an angle, it doesn’t scrape as much.
I’d definitely like to see a thing on paint. Would be a really good video. Whenever I finish my 3rd gen I’m definitely going to want to see it. It’ll be a while though because I’m going the route less traveled. I’m building it for drifting. Designing a wisefab-esque angle kit in cad, and I might be putting a 1.5jz in because there’s one cheap locally and they make insane power with basically just adding more boost(factory internals are good for 800hp/650ftlbs)
There were cup holders that came on some of the Firebird doors. But say you dont have any... Well thats why you never remove the passenger seat. Give them to the wife and tell her you'll buy her some chocolate if the car is dry at the end of the day ;)

bangshift.com/general-news/tech-stories/roll-cage-roll-bar-vs-roll-cage-show-whats/
Having own several of these cars... I'd say that squeak is 90% coming from the hatchback
None of these 7 things matter when your car sounds like that!
I wish a had your problems
I thought this was a video about problems with the ls swap. Should be titled things I hate about my car.
his car is an LS swapped camaro. if you knew that, youd know what the video was about
Solutions:
7) backup camera
6) see that empty dead space in front of the center console armrest? Find a pop in cup holder and cut that empty space out and fit a cup holder in it.

Kfx Guy they make a center console deck lid with a cup holder
Kfx Guy electric blower motor I’ve got one installed but haven’t used it yet since I’ve been restoring my car
I don't believe in backup cams...if you weren't taught how to drive properly and without one you probably shouldn't b driving.

You're driving an LS swapped 3rd gen Camaro and complaining it has no cup holders!?
Oh, come on! You're kidding, right?
Some of these 3 gen Camaros came with cup holders below the armrest as an option. I've seen it in a few. Not all.
i CAN UNDERSTAND HIM BUT YEAH...YOUR RITE, SHES A BEAUTIFUL CAR!!!

Think flex seal coating it after sanding it down would prevent rust?
It has REAL doors - got to remember the new vehicles are oversized shopping carts.
YOU SHO GOT THAT RITE!!!
I always kept my drink right behind the passenger seat, put the holder there. Replace the grill with the Z-28 grill, looks so much better.
I was thinking the same exact thing. That RS grill insert takes the whole car down a big notch.

they squeak a lot less with a cage or subframe connectors.

AWESOME - way better than any new cars that are loaded with emissions and weed eater turbo engines....
you realize most naturally aspirated 4 bangers make more hp from the factory than these cars did right? and youve got that backwards.... this car is loaded with emissions... modern cars are loaded with emmissions reducers.... also this cars from the 80s stock it would have had a ton of emission reducers as well... besides what do you have against clean air? you not like breathing? not to mention its a modern ls engine..... so im pretty sure it meets modern emission standards, and HOW tell me HOW this is more impressive than a hellcat or a demon? i think not...
@@tommyleegraves423 Yep, but half the torque. Or less. And they sound like 4 bangers.
@@fire398017 a good 4 cylinder sounds good..... and they have just as much torque bro... youre just a hater man
@@tommyleegraves423 Let me guess we evolved from a rock, and the rock is angry so we need more emissions???
You like 4 bangers with fart pipes you gotta put a turbo on and then wind the piss out of to make power?
I had to keep my stock bucket seats. I got them reupholstered . Love how they lay all the way back pretty much flat in the third gens
If that’s a hydraulic clutch I’m jealous. The cable clutch in my fox body was brutal after a lot of traffic
It is, I honestly don’t mind driving in traffic with it! I don’t love it, but I also don’t wish it was an auto👍
a/c blower is most likely the vent/plenum gaskets... they are just foam and disentigrate after a few years... most of your air is escaping behind the dash... also, the evaporator and heater core could be dirty. they clog with dirt over time.. cabin air filters werent a priority back then...
I have thought about doing that. I have a hole there already, I would just have to open it up a little more.
Did you ever fix the rear squeak? UMI control arms and panhard rod with poly on one end and rod ends on the other worked great for me.
the thing i hate the most about your car is "IT ISN'T MINE" god i love this car,i really like mine but I LOVE YOURS
Tape the joints in your duct work so that the air is forced through the vents and doesn't bleed to areas under your dash.
Yah man awesome you would love my 92 lol I still have the original tires on it and like I said completely stock but this summer I plan on doing exhaust. I also own 4shelby mustangs that I love and 3 foxbody mustangs and also a black and gold 87 GTA but the number one car in my collection is my Z28 and plan on never selling it
Anthony Laudano Will you sell the 87 GTA?
I mainly just hate the no cup holder issue aside from not being ls swapped its biggest issue lmao
@Cody Simpson I have a 91 vert all third gen doors have the holes you just need the plastic inserts
After i did all the bushings on my hinges they opened and closed easy
This is why i did the 4thgen center consle swap..2 cupholders.mind you..they are lack luster placement with a manual car..its better than nothing. As for the blower motor/vent..take the dash pad off and seal up the ducting.remover the blower motor and make sure the fins arent brokem.they are cheap plastic that break over time from degrading.my car doesnt squeak but sure as hell has all the 80's gm rattles from panels coming loose lol
What kind of power you putting down bro, this is heaven
Firebirds had cupholders on the door panels, that was probably an option back then for some models
I have an 86 trans am, it doesn't have cup holders, it has folders that open up
91-92 only for the Pontiacs.
I love your Camaro I'm currently working on a 89 rs ,seeing your car is really motivating me
I’m looking forward to a body work prep type video. Car looks great and props to you for driving it year round
The exhaust sounds great. What LS motor is it also what kind of exhaust?
Check your spare tire for the squeak. I have the same sound because the tire is just bouncing around. My bracket is rusted through but yours might just be loose.
#8 -- The steering wheel looks like it came out of a 1989 Cavalier.
Thats on the other list😏
My '83 Camaro z28 T-Top has a steering wheel from like an '93 S-10 that had the 4 spoke steering wheel.
Direct fit , I like the look and $20 bucks.
I'm not running an LS engine in mine either.
I have a 406SBC mystery motor and TH350 trans with the teeth jarring shift kit in it.
I love those steering wheels. I put em on all my camaros and s10s. I buy every one i can find..
My sons 3rd Gen has a custom paint job and BAM you nailed it, same crack right above the window at the rear.
Yea some guys mentioned welding it up. Im gonna try that whenever the car gets painted again. Being I have subframe connectors it may not return!
I had an 87 Camaro but I didn't go LS I went with a 427 and had no complaints.
Well they didn’t exactly have the mall in mind when they designed these cars. These cars were supposed to emulate the old school muscle cars and would have had even more power than the old ones but the epa kinda killed them
I just order that cavalier steering wheel for my Camaro do I need to use an adapter? or it's just plug and play install
Could you do a video on how you prepped the car for paint and or what resources you used to do the body work? Love the videos! The car looks great!!
b-pillar problem is self clearancing... first time you back out get hit... it will not be an issue any longer.
Your 3rd gen is sick! I love it!!
Your shift points in the beginning were driving me nuts
You modded the car and didn't mod the center column to have cup holders? Or the door to have a cup holder?
Hey bro I have a 91 ta clone convertible and I have cup holders oe. And I have an ac delete and I am using a b motor from a grand marquis and I plan on doing the Lamborghini door hinges they a set that opens normally and opens upwards I'll show you pics the cupholders bolt in using existing holes in the door
I have a 91 Firebird, which is still part of the third generation body style, and the cup holder is on the door, at the bottom, as part of the door pocket, not the best cup holder but it's there
There a center console lid replacement with a cup holder on rickscamaro website. I have it, its not bad. doesnt cover any switches.
great vid! eventually when i find myself with some extra cash i hope to have an end result similar to your beautiful beast. i drive a 1990 RS - 3.1L v6. i baby the car as it is all original. the motor isnt anything crazy but it is so much fun to drive in general, at any speed. not sure who likes to look at the car more, the elders or the youngsters! love third gen maro’s/firebirds. take care all
`91-92, and maybe 90 Firebirds had cup holders on the bottom of the doors. At least a few I've come across.
With all that being said car is still badass! Looking good brother
Were you short shifting for the video, or is that just your driving style? Nice camaro, sounds good & looks good
Yea thats just for the video. With the summer tires and the cold it spins really bad. Only way to keep it straight and get some good sound is to short shift.
Gotcha 👌🏽
Always enjoy your vids. Man I put my car away 4 weeks ago! Here in N. MI. we have had snow, looks like you are still hanging in there. Enjoy.
Yea Im barely hanging on. The biggest thing is the cold, It makes me not want to work on it. Driving it isnt so bad. Once the first snow hits it wont be coming out, so Ill have to get creative with content🤔
same here in Minnesota with snow and its stored away already.
@@lsxmatt Well, always enjoy your post!
@@lovescamaros1 I just HOPE we don't see 6 months of the CRAP THIS year. Man Last year there was snow till mid MAY! Thank God for Global Warming!
Which LS did you swap in? Does the 3rd gen have the same amount of engine bay room as the 4th gen?
Is a 5.3 truck motor. Yea the 3rd gen engine bay is bigger than a 4th gen.
The cup holder is easy, I got that solved when I was like 16, there is a old Taco Bell Godzilla promotional cup holder thing that happen to be the exact fitment to hang on the window and rest on the armrest securely as heck
paint shop didn't use adhesion promoter and elasticizer when they did the bumpers.. typical maaco corner cutting..
What exhaust are you running on your Camaro? I’ve been trying to get some ideas for my 3rd gen...
Its just an slp loud mouth 2 with long tube headers no cat.
Okay, thank you!
Hey I think we're neighbors! That's the south side of Arthur Kill Rd. Great video! Been following your channel. Awesome stuff!
What kind of rims do you have? Really like them
Hey Matt. Curious on how you got your harness through the firewall and what type of seal did you use?
The harness comes with a grommet. I just drilled a hole and fished the harness through. The grommet seals the firewall up around the harness.
@@lsxmatt Gotcha. I'm using pockets harness. How big of a hole did you drill?
@LsxMatt did you ever talk about how you prepped the paint?
Is there an under- dash vent system filter?
As much as we all wish it did, LS swap doesnt make these cars any less of an 80s shitbox but that's the whole reason we love 3rd gens simply gorgeous death traps that'll rattle your ears off and send you to the chiropractor before you even wrap it around a pole but you'll never stop smiling
Where did you get your lsx badges from?
How expensive was the paint job? More than a grand?
The Squeak if it sounds like metal on metal check your exhaust system it may be a bolt rubbing on the body... had it myself
Thats what I was thinking. I have to get under there and check all the hangers again. It only started after replacing the rear.
On 4
My 91 camaro had leafs in the bower side aka the inside engine bay took apart box n leafs in side
You can rip apart the rear suspension all you want, you wont find that squeak. It comes from the hatch moving around while it flexes during driving. I noticed yours squeaks waaay less than mine but I'd say that comes from the cage
Didn’t even think of that, but it really does sound like that.
@@lsxmatt I haven't figured out a way to make it go away so if you figure out something you should let us know
If you put the louvers on the car the squeaks go away
As for #7 same thing for me with my 1999 Camaro SS, and 4th Gen has 4 cup holders... where in NY you from? Im from the city
Staten island
There were cup holders that came on some of the Firebird doors. But say you dont have any... Well thats why you never remove the passenger seat. Give them to the wife and tell her you'll buy her some chocolate if the car is dry at the end of the day ;)
Matt where did you get the lsx emblems iam just doing my first swap
He said ebay
My 91 RS had no problem with the AC blowing cold or hot air. It would freeze and burn you out.
Btw forgot, love the car. If i ever do one its either 80s camaro,80s monte carlo ss, or a 72 chevelle
That car looks great. the new LS engines make great power. I have an 03 suburban 5.3 & I love it. Still has tons of hp & torque.
Yes pls give us the painting details. Prep and paint and pricing and all that good stuff👌
