I bought a 1992 Camaro RS 5 speed 305 TBI for $1500 a few months ago. Put another $1000 into repairs (was sitting for 10+ years) and now it's pretty decent.
I have always loved these cars. I currently own seven of them (mix of Camaros and Firebird/Trans Ams) At this time I have a 1986 IROC-Z that is the Yellow color, and a 1986 IROC-Z that is the copper color. I knew the yellow car was rare (It’s in awesome condition as well, with only 52K on the odometer)I got it for a steal 19 years ago. I had NO IDEA the copper color was that rare! It is a pretty rare car already, having auto headlights, with a sensor on the rear view mirror. It is a 5 speed car, so naturally, it has the “high output” 305😂. These cars are a lot of fun to drive, and there’s really nothing like driving along on a nice day with the T-Tops off. Both IROCS get compliments from people wherever I go, especially the yellow one 👍. I don’t drive them much (can’t put a lot of miles on either IROC, as that would de-value them too much) , but I am working to finish my 1989 Trans-Am GTA with a Twin Turbo LS2, 6-speed automatic, with paddle shifters, and an awful lot of race car ….stuff…. Lol. It’s been 5 years in the making, but it’ll be done in time for summer, when all the blood , sweat and tears will all be worth it!!!! If you want to buy one, I would suggest you check your circle of friends…. Otherwise, maybe the salvage auction. I’ve picked up a few for parts cars, well under a thousand dollars. They do go for a lot when they are in “perfect” condition. Incidentally, I put eibach lowering springs, KYB adjustable struts/shocks, and a whole host of aftermarket suspension goodies on the car. Custom black leather upholstery (I Saran-wrapped the original tan leather interior when I switched it to black). Some little tricks to the motor (Basic stuff, Cam, valve springs, Reworked L-88 Corvette heads, etc) And a completely built 700R4 (money was no object, because I thought, at the time, that I was going to be putting a supercharged 427 LSX in front of it) with 2,800 rpm stall converter. She is RIDICULOUS now.
I have a 1982 Berlinetta it basically looks stock, but it has a dark blue pearl paint job, beefed up suspension, also under the hood is a 388 stroker with Edelbrock and Holley bits, etc, etc and behind that is a 350 turbo box it makes around 500 hp. And it has been converted to right hand drive (why you ask, well I am in Australia). I have owned the car for about 25 years. Cheers.
Picked one up that got crashed a year after it was bought, frame isn’t bent at all just needs a fuel pump and body panels. Interior is mint and somehow got it for $1500
These cars are amazing I have 3 of them I have a 87 iroc-z a 91z28 with the high rise spoiler and the hood louvers and I have the 92 rs 25th anniversary I love them all
I bought an ‘87 Sport 6 months ago with 98,000 miles for $2,250. Swapped the v6 for a 350sbc. Putting in some work yourself can save some money when looking at these cars.
That iron duke got some crazy gas mileage in that car . people did tests on the third gen forum I think it was more than 40mpg . useful when gas hits 20$ a gallon you can still roll with the t tops off
you proably should have brought up how light these cars are . like 3200 lbs or less , even the small v8 would move these cars along good enough , and seemed fast compared to what else was on the road at the time . The 3rd gen can hold a big block engine no problem , you gotta reinforce the hell out of it , but it fits effortlessly
I have an 86 iroc. Its color code is blue opel. From what I've researched the only other car in 86 to have that paint code is a California special iroc. If someone else can confirm this that would be great.
A forgotten fact is “pony cars” were originally very versatile cars you could get a Camaro designed for gas mileage as well as a true drag racer so the 4cyl and v6 shouldn’t be overlooked if your just looking basic transportation.
That’s true but people looking for basic transportation in 2023 aren’t looking for a 3rd gen f body because they are too old. Really only enthusiasts at this point
There is so much wrong with this video, I don't know where to start. Digital dash was only offered in the 86-88 Trans Ams for instance, never in a Camaro. video images have little relation to the words being narrated. So much cringe.

About to buy a 85 iroc, can’t wait to go take a look!

I remember my grade school science, teacher bought the new “Berlinetta”…. We thought it was so cool😅😂🤣
You forgot the 1LE B4C police special package.

What about the teal green metallic?
Finding a hard top isn’t easy.
I had a 91 FBF black on black hard top that was totaled 🥺
A lady hit me in the front.
I was devastated.
Literally about to buy an ‘87 IROC-Z with the 350, in the medium gray metallic paint, with T-tops for $9k 😅

Didnt mention the firebird :(
I got an 89 Camaro RS 305 V8. Any suggestions for modifications?
I’m just gonna buy the cheapest one I can find. I’m gonna engine swap it with a new 383 or 400 small block
Interestingly enough I bought a 90 firebird gta for 400 bucks a few months back
My 85 was originally blue now she’s half black primer , half grey primer 😭
My 89 Camaro was medium gray metallic
I threw away the 305 that made 190 hp now I 383 that make 550 hp and 5 speed possi rear end
Four mods I'd much prefer the third over the 4th from of working on that standpoint.
Function over form.. forever
Id recommend a iroc with a 350 multi port fuel injection and do a t56 swap.
Paid for my 87 iroc 1 k 91 z28 2 k
2nd Gen>> I’m finna get a ‘79 Camaro
you can buy a Camaro for 4k
Looks like the creator may need to fact check himself a little more before posting.

Thanks for watching!
3rd gen Camaro is still a piece of sh!t, late 70s firebird only
Got my 1985 Z28 blue with the grey trim and came with the Z28 sticker for 1950$ and its the 5 speed manule
This guy doesn't realize 3rd gen Camaros will never suck put a ls1 with a t56 transmission and you got a street rocket
