Great teaching bro
Wow! You scratched the pinchweld and didn’t prime it. Hacks!
For channels and new metal work What do you use to seal the channel? epoxy paint clear then urethane primer before the windshield install? I heard 3m panel adhesive brush on over new metal? please help the process for me.thanks. 1970 nova
How did you get the Rubber seal to stay in my keeps falling out
31 years in the auto glass business and I can tell you with absolute certainty you have no clue what you’re doing.
You confidence is lacking the required knowledge and skill needed to maintain structural safety on a new windshield install.
The windshield is laminated plate. There is no tempered part to a windshield. The lace tool you used is for locking strip on rubber gasket set glass and not for removing the tree molding. While it worked it’s not what it’s designed for.
Your removal of the glass was cumbersome due to lack of proper tool usage and resulted in excessive body/paint damage.
You failed to prep the body with primer to protect all the exposed scratched metal from rust and it doesn’t even appear you even cleaned the dirt away.. You failed to prep the glass with correct cleaner or primer.
Your urethane bead is sloppy and inconsistent. Very high possibility the glue will not maintain its bond due to rust on body and contamination on glass and body. It will pop out eventually. Doesn’t appear any additional glue used for the tree molding so it will fly out eventually also. We typically use a t-105 type molding now but you can use the old style.
Please consult a knowledgeable professional before putting out this type of content that others will naively follow and put their safety at risk while damaging their vehicle.
right as soon as he said it was laminated tempered i knew we were in for a treat lol
@@tylercaddi I knew it was going south the second he said “with confidence” after dismissing calling a glass shop.
This right here
💯
For the love of god…thank you!
Well said
You can do it yourself but not well apparently lmao
Scratched that thing so bad and just ran glue right over it lmao. No primer or anything. And that bead was hilarious and after getting it in their hands are covered in urethane pushing their “seal” in 😂
Would’ve been better if you had a pro come and teach people the correct way to replace a window. Good luck to whoever has that car down the road it’s going to be a rust bucket. Then you can teach how to do a pinch weld restoration!
Please pay a professional to do this🤦♀️ this bead is not correct and will cause issues and is a huge safety hazard.
Shutup bitch
@@Ciana_Baby 😂😂😂😂
I have an 1984 Z28 Camaro that I'm basically restoring and doing a big color change. It's white right now this minute but before long it will be Green With Envy Pearl Basecoat. The rivers are probably going to be whatever black dad paints the headlight area. I'm trying to talk him into doing the same thing with the moldings under the doors and fenders.
He had his windshield guy come remove the windshield today. $100 & it sucks I'm paralyzed and he has 2 cars in his shop and not enough room for me in there. Dad said Ming used some type of air hammer which smoked my brain because I said this was the was to do it. Lucky for me microscopic amount of surface rust. I basically stole it, $1k for the car, brand new crate engine, and rebuilt 700R4 transmission. They wasn't smart enough to change The Gas Tank and Sending Unit lmmfao.
Wouldn't want you replacing mine, learn what you're doing before you do it.
I applaud you guys for doing this but being a glass tech so many things here are just terribly wrong but cool video to watch
great video
Great video. Thanks guys!
holy hell , never touch another windshield again please !!!
just went on your site to buy this 149$ windshield and you guys want 478$ to ship it to my household. So yeah i guess 4:19 if your willing to pay $642.65 for a piece of glass!
That is absolutely horrible. You guys have no idea what you are doing. Next time have a professional come show you the correct way before you get someone killed by improper installation.
Please take this video down! So many things wrong with this installation. You don’t need car owners thinking they can replace their Windshield following your instructions. You can see most of the comments are from glass professionals. Would you use tinfoil to re-wire your electrical panel? Take this down.
As someone in the automotive glass business, this is painful to watch…
Please don't even consider doing this the way they did this. This is horrible, unsafe, and the windshield is going to leak and the pinchweld will rust. In a crash,, this glass will most likely fall out. Despite Hollywood movies,, that isn't supposed to happen.
Call "the glass guy" he's telling you not too.
Round bead? lol
Classic Industries, please stick to selling parts and not installing them. Secondly, call a glass guy and have them redo your "install" before you get someone killed.
This is not the proper way to install the windshield in that camaro.
Where do I start..?
No safety gloves
Scratched the pinchweld.. severely I might add and no primer
Improper bead.. and so on..
please do your homework before making a video like this and saying anyone can do it..
There are safety factors you need to consider before doing this FMVSS 208 and 212 may not be met because of the poor installation
While I appreciate the effort in informing your customers a little more home work should’ve been done on this.
You guys are teaching people the wrong way!!!!! Stop it. Bring in a seasoned glass tech. "Not Safelite" redo this and redeem yourself. Someone could lose their life or be seriously hurt because of this demonstration. Lastly, what is laminated tempered saftey glass?
There are laminated tempered door glasses on a few cars. But no windshield in the USA that has tempered glass as part of the windshield except for Hollywood special units for movie effects.
holy fuck that install was atrocious. call a professional!!!
What the feck is laminated tempered safety glass??? It's one or the other...ffs stick to sales...
Please stop doing glass. Terrible all the way around.
Music SUCKS
