Of course people can voice their opinions. The problem is when people take it too far and say it in such rude ways. Feedback and criticism is always welcome as long as it doesn't disrespect or insults others. People like to talk as if they know what goes on behind the scenes to animate and create this type of work. As a designer myself, I know how long it takes just to do one small detail. It takes time. And many times with these companies they don't give them enough time to do everything they can to make the game perfect so they send pieces at a time and charge full price for each. And many times great ideas aren't used or implemented because of time and budget reasons.

I think this is the best pack sims 4 has put out by far. It has twice as much content as other Sims 4 expansions. I loved rebuilding the hospital, police station, and laboratory and then actually getting to follow my Sims there to work. I wish more careers like this would have been added as more expansions came out. I've had a lot of fun with retail stores over the years. I've made antique shops, clothing stores, hand-made furniture stores, bakeries, flower shops, and when Realm of Magic came out I made a magic shop. I also loved the Astronaut career and I was totally shocked the first time I discovered Sixam.
+Kitty Plays Minecraft I could actually see this as a university expansion. Personally, the ones I'm hoping/waiting for are a university one, a generations one, and a seasons one. That, and I kinda want a night life one, but more specifically, I want one that adds a downtown neighborhood, that functions like a rather small version of an open world, where you can walk freely between 5 or 6 large venues at a time. I'm talking like, large night clubs like dance clubs and such, plazas, spas, restaurants, etc. Something that would be nice to include are outdoor activities and party areas in those areas, like the plazas I mentioned.

It's cringe worthy when Sims games try to be hip. I played TS3 university life recently and had second hand embarrassment when one of the sims had started doing the 'Gangnam style' dance.
Anyone remember the premade family in Sims 2 (I think it was 2 brothers?), and it was set up so that as soon as you start playing their house, one of them gets abducted by aliens? He came back pregnant, and I did not want an alien baby so I just facerolled a name (which wasn't much of a faceroll, I guess, since it came out as "Alala"). At first, I was about to let child services come take her. But I got weirdly attached to her, and eventually she had a family of her own. And then my computer died, and I lost allll my families. Yes, over 10 years later I'm still upset by this memory. lol
Wellington Santos I actually like most of their expansions! It's mainly the nickel-and-diming of their smaller DLC packs that usually blow. $45 towns can suck it for eternity.

You'd think after the sims 3 coding disaster, they would have learned from their mistakes. BUT NO these high school dropout gurus continue to provide hilarious fails for our entertainment. Just when you thought the "gurus" couldn't mess it up anymore, they surprise us with fails that flop harder than a whale falling into the ocean from an airplane.
Untrustedlife "Also the game is pretty damn pretty on my machine" The delusion is strong in this one. Have you seen the textures in the game? There are standards for a next generation game you know?
I got this yesterday (because I've been waiting forever for it to be sale at Target) and it's so FUN! My favorite part is designing and working at my own retail shops.
Unfortunately I was one of the people that didn't have much of a desire to see my sim at work, and never really played with Open for business or the interactive work in Ambitions, so sims 4 is still "meh" for me. Now if they release a generations-esque pack with toddlers, better life stages, open schools and a shit ton of items for everyone, the sting of betrayal may yet be soothed. As someone who plays with big families on 90% of my saves, I'm still very pissed about that. I want the privilege of hiring a nanny so I can ignore the brats dammit! I do like baking though, so bonus. The only stores I opened with Open for Business sims 2 and in sims 3 were home bakeries. Are there home businesses with this one?
jarmakey1 There are no home business, to my knowledge. You need a cash register to open a business, and that's only available if the lot is marked as a "retail lot". My understanding is that the way around this is to build home items on the retail lot and just live there, but you'll still be technically living away from home. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!
Lazy Game Reviews That is correct :) The only issue right now is the fact we don't have lockable doors yet and customers can roam around and end up watching your TV and what not in your "home" area. And if you have other Sims in your family they won't automatically come to the retail lot when they get home from work/school/etc. They will go to whatever home lot you have. I plan on having my Sim live at their store to make things easier on myself,so I am going to move her to a empty lot. I'm doing this because you'll still get bills even if you are living on your retail lot full time that would need to be paid by going to the home lot but if you don't have a house on the lot,who cares if the power and water get shut off :P
***** I still hope they can add it. I'm finally enjoying the benefits of a dedicated gaming computer and mods that stabilize my game, so I'm not in any rush to get the sims 4. I can wait.
KayCee Munchkin Cat A pity about the no home businesses. Sims 2 time freeze kinda scared me off community lot businesses and they didn't work well in the sims 3. Don't the sims bug you to go home when you leave your home for too long like in sims 3? Or can you truly live at work?
jarmakey1 You can live at your business. Watch Sims 4, Get To Work Rags to Riches video by The Sim Supply. It proves you can tweak your way into having a business that you can also live there.
Lazy Game Reviews Its on origin. Go to Sims 4 get to work on Origin Click The picture that says "Run your own retail business" and it says "From bakeries to high-end toilet shops
I'm doing the same. I'm not getting either the base game or any expansions until there's a fairly inexpensive pack deal available. It's ridiculous that these expansions cost almost as much as the base game but don't provide even 1/10th the content, most of which was in the previous Sims games expansion packs anyway.
The key is to get the combo deal. Get both the base and the expansion of your favorite for half the price of the single copy of either. You'll be waiting for awhile but it's worth the wait. Any smart purchase is worth the wait.
It's on sale for 27 and some change on instant gaming. I've never bought anything from there, I just saw it in an earlier comment and decided to go look. It's true!!!
***** Why would you have bought the base game before now? Especially after LGR's review? I mean you can't be a fan and a smart consumer? Like I said, you wait for the price to drop and for combo deals to arrive. That way you get a two for one deal. It doesn't matter who it's for if you want to save money that's what you do.
I haven't bought a Sims game in the last 5 years without watching one of these reviews first. Thanks for always giving a good and balanced review that people can trust!
The game lacks a sense of warmth and fun and creativity. The Sims 4 would be a GREAT addition had it looked and felt familiar. It has this Happy-Go-Lucky Stepford Wives feel that makes my skin crawl, and also makes me a bit angry because there isnt a sense of normalcy mixed in with the craziness. It lacks the sense of realism we would think the game would implement by now. Even the soundtrack is lacking....
Didn't play the Sims 2 on the PC. Played it on the console. But the direct control is what I loved about the Sims 2. It made me felt that I was my sim and not some invisible god telling them what to do.
we need to add auto mechanics bc they could do soo much with this career like fixing/upgrading ur car, having to do maintenance, ect like this could be one of the best careers and also add all the sims games jobs into 4
So just to clarify... 1. Just the NEW jobs get to GTW right? 2. Scientists get to go to other worlds...NOT Astronauts? 3. Detectives travel around to do their 'work'. So this becomes a loading-screen-fest right? Thanx in advance.
Jimboola 1. Yes. "Active careers" do what I described they did in the video :) 2. Scientists can, astronauts can, anyone can. 3. It does indeed become a loading screen-fest. Again, as I mentioned in the video it really exacerbates that problem.
you give the most honest reviews! and detailed. these are the questions I had that I didnt even know i had. And I love that they let you work up to get to space. I felt like the Magic realm could have been more thought out.. could have added more scavenger hunts so that u had to really wait to get your powers!
I really liked this expansion pack but felt that the retail side of it was really lame and boring. It takes way to long for sims to buy things and even longer to check them out. Employees basically do nothing even if I hired the more expensive ones. They advertised bakery but sims can not even eat the baked goods in my bakery! I thought I was going to enjoy the retail side of this pack more but I ended up loving the other three careers way more
Ashley Yeah, the not being able to eat in a bakery is lame. Some of the devs have talked about adding actual restaurants and cafes in the future using this system, so there's hope for the future at least.
I've been playing wow for a long time, when did they ever release expansions every year besides once? You mean more like every 2 years, which isn't comparable to this, at all. Sims 4 expansions are nowhere near worth the price; at least wow expansions gave you plenty to do... mostly because they fit in with the base game and the base game, itself, was good, sims 4 base game was not good and all the expansion packs don't really play well with each other, it seems.
Genuine Anger I know what would be the best sims expansion, The Sims 4: Half Life 3 Confirmed, which would include the holy crowbar worshiper job, where you go to space and go insane with the holy crowbar.
That'd probably double the size of the expansion depending on the current careers it has. But there's no excuse for that small neighborhood though. The console version of The Sims had more lots.
Everybody comments on the still alive reference, what about the minerals? By the way, there is no physical release? The Sims 4 are doomed to be only on Origin?
Lazy Game Reviews Thank gosh, I was pretty upset when I saw that it was a code in the physical copy of the base game. Thanks for the reply, by the way. The showcase of the new chairs in the video was by far some of your best work.
I watch video game reviews for all types of games. Yours are by far my favorite! You always nail the pros and cons and make it easy for me to decide if I want to spend money on the game (which I almost always do, with the exception of the Katie Perry Sweet Treats!). Thank you for all the time you put into this
***** Sad part is they will never be able to get rid of them in the Sims 4. It's been integrated into the game so much that it's impossible to change it now without completely redesigning the base game which they'll never do.
***** I agree I hate all the loading screens. They had better options then what they gave us if they didn't want to do completely open world. They divided the neighborhood up into sections. They could have at least made those sections "open" and only used loading screens when you traveled to different parts/sections of the town. So in your section you could walk to your neighbors house without a loading screen but if you wanted to travel to the gym then you might get a loading screen. It would help give the illusions of open world without overwhelming older pc's. A compromise. But they didn't even do that much : /
***** That's the way Sims 4 was designed. Probably bullshit, as I think that Grahm Nardone (One of the designers) said that pools could probably never be added. So, only a matter of time, I presume? I don't really care, I just want more lots to go to! Besides, weren't lots kinda barren in Sims 3 because of the open world? I dunno.
I've been watching this channel for a long time now, but this is definitely the time when I've felt the video helped me immensely. Saw the huge Origin 60% sale and GTW is $19.99 as of this comment instead of the whopping $39.99, but wasn't sure if it would be worth it to deal with the hassle of controlling the aliens or not. But looking at how much this adds helped me make that decision and add the occult extension to the command center mod
Torture dungeons! 😂 This EP actually sounds awesome. I need to get to work and get TS4 now! I think the police officer and photographer careers look great.
GhostStylus These jobs in get to work are more detailed than the ones in ambitions. for example in ambitions you had a tattoo parlor career which you just go to create a sim and stick a fake tattoo on a sim.
My sim has life goal/dream to spend 1K on children stuff. Once "Toddler Life" comes out she's gonna be spending more than just 1K.... I vote for this lmfao
The toddlers always annoyed the hell out of me...Either mine would run around outside in -30 below temperatures, or i would run into a crap load of them crying with a gaggle of hungry adults (reacting angrily at the noise)down by the theater :/
Also, just wondering if you think open world will ever be a thing in Sims 4? I miss that the most, and that's why I still find myself playing sims 3 more than sims 4 at this point.
Nevvy Herdover Honestly for me, I'm okay with the compromise they have, which isn't as constrained as Sims 1 and 2, but doesn't have the insanely long loading times I sometimes had to deal with in Sims 3.
KawaiiBearPaws Well imo it is because i never got thr hang of the things in TS3, but when i got TS4 it felt alot easier to control things. Altough the sims 3 had open world, i disliked that because of the lag and such. The sims 4 has loading screens but i'm perfectly fine with that.
At this point I just wish the Sims 4 had everything the Sims 3 did but with the new interface and graphics.
Same
Which is what the sims 3 was to the sims 2 for me
Okay but let's be real. If EA did that y'all would just complain that they didn't add anything new.
Yeah Clicking on tools is more tedious.

me too thats what i loved about the sims 2 coz of the university life and able to live in dorms and apartments etc. They should also do a shopping town kind of add on.

Chanel Coco we would probably get mad at the game because of the students 😂
Chanel Coco pretty sure they’re saving that for a university pack
Nah these are massive already maybe in the later future
amsayyy You were right on the money, there.
@Bubba Blackout This was commented 3 years ago
The only thing that disappoints me is the pathetic attempt at a new neighbourhood - 4 lots, really? The original ones are already small enough!!!
Just build a shop n a resident lot. More will be added later on with patchs etc. nothing comes out with everything finished at launch
***** People will always expect more and will always be disappointed with what they got. They will always find faults to criticize and be annoyed with.
***** Thank you! I still bought it and am still enjoying it, but I have the right to express my opinions, and the small neighbourhood size is one of the things that has disappointed me from the get go.
I'd also prefer it if the new work places were in the new neighbourhood because you can't visit them unless you work there. Oh well!

They obviously want a reason for people to actually buy the game. Heh. Heh. Heh.

Just when you thought the "gurus" couldn't mess it up anymore, they surprise us with fails that flop harder than a whale falling into the ocean from an airplane.
Untrustedlife "Also the game is pretty damn pretty on my machine"
The delusion is strong in this one. Have you seen the textures in the game? There are standards for a next generation game you know?
Untrustedlife "sims 4 has a coherent art style" - tablet free to play art style. LOL.
I got this yesterday (because I've been waiting forever for it to be sale at Target) and it's so FUN! My favorite part is designing and working at my own retail shops.
What are the other careers available?
@@sharifworks3779 Watch the video????????????????????????
I cant believe this is what sims4 looked like 9 years ago i only been playing sims 4 for 7 years and here we are now new and improved sims
Sad that no new aspiration or traits were added. I was looking forward to more diversity with the sims.
THERES A TOILET STORE REFERENCE ON ORIGIN FOR GET TO WORK!!!!
Lazy Game Reviews Its on origin. Go to Sims 4 get to work on Origin Click The picture that says "Run your own retail business" and it says "From bakeries to high-end toilet shops
Candy Rabbit Oh wow, haha
I'm excited to try it when it's cheaper. I'm kinda cheap lately, haha
Caleb Hiebert I got it on CD keys for £19.00, good deals on there
*****
Why would you have bought the base game before now? Especially after LGR's review?
I mean you can't be a fan and a smart consumer?
Like I said, you wait for the price to drop and for combo deals to arrive. That way you get a two for one deal. It doesn't matter who it's for if you want to save money that's what you do.
I haven't bought a Sims game in the last 5 years without watching one of these reviews first. Thanks for always giving a good and balanced review that people can trust!
loved the Still Alive reference
Yes!
Didn't even play portal, but I still enjoyed the song reference!
Ana Almeida As did I. :)
Amethystclaws I'm.. I'm.. so sorry. I wouldn't be a complete person if I hadn't played through Portal a bijillion times.
I spend more time rewatching your reviews, than actually playing the game.
I have been wanting the review since March 30 and been refreshing this page since 2 days constantly!!!
FINALLY!!!! :)
Agree 110%
Sims 3 to me lacks warmth too. Sims 2 was great and made you feel like you're really part of the experiences.
+Jakarri King Yep. 100% agree
Didn't play the Sims 2 on the PC. Played it on the console. But the direct control is what I loved about the Sims 2. It made me felt that I was my sim and not some invisible god telling them what to do.
Chris Hampton 😭
Screw the jobs, the chairs is the only important part of this expansion.
we need to add auto mechanics bc they could do soo much with this career like fixing/upgrading ur car, having to do maintenance, ect like this could be one of the best careers and also add all the sims games jobs into 4
So just to clarify...
1. Just the NEW jobs get to GTW right?
2. Scientists get to go to other worlds...NOT Astronauts?
3. Detectives travel around to do their 'work'. So this becomes a loading-screen-fest right?
Thanx in advance.
Jimboola 1. Yes. "Active careers" do what I described they did in the video :)
2. Scientists can, astronauts can, anyone can.
3. It does indeed become a loading screen-fest. Again, as I mentioned in the video it really exacerbates that problem.
Lazy Game Reviews
Thank you for the clarification.
If this was on sims 3 be sweet
you give the most honest reviews! and detailed. these are the questions I had that I didnt even know i had. And I love that they let you work up to get to space. I felt like the Magic realm could have been more thought out.. could have added more scavenger hunts so that u had to really wait to get your powers!
Did I just see a Pushing up Roses sim?
Ruko Michiharu I noticed that too!
4:54
get to work is a re skin of ambitions
Every new Sims expansion pack is a re-skin of an old one.
thats why i still play sims 3 all dlcs packs and i bought them for 10 dollars
why should they get creative and innovative when most simmers get so excited over the same things over and over again.
Really looking forward to the detective career! :)
analyzing "rocks" or "minerals" JESUS MARIE
Love the Theme Hospital reference.
SpiffyEmpire I was pleased to see the game include Bloaty Head, hehe.
Lazy Game Reviews
Wait the game actually has Bloaty Head in it?
Finally, someone who can pronounce 'promenade'. Sick of hearing 'promen-aid'. Ahhhh!
Can't wait for this to hit the UK!
Leigh Hanley IKR! Why can't they say it right?
Leigh Hanley Promen-aid? It's like lemonade, made from prom juice.Ew.
Ashley I know! It seems really dumb to sell objects you can easily buy/sell in Buy Mode, and selling craftables is super tedious.
Sounds like real retail.
Dude, your commentary is hilarious!!!! They should totally hire you to advertise their games!
I know i am very late (Steam summer sales 2022 brought me here) but i just wanted to acknowledge your breaking bad reference at 6:06
I've noticed this with pretty much any of your reviews. Your writing for your episodes is outstanding!
"..unless you are using a touch screen or a mouse curser yourself." 😂😂
Making a note here, huge success. Man, I love your references that less than 1% of viewers will pick up Clint. 😅🙏
"Where Duke Nukem has gone plenty of times" XD
The chairs look pretty good. I'm sold
I remember playing SIM's Bustin Out on the console. And you were able to go to work on there as well.
$40 for an expansion?! Well I guess I can't complain, I used to play WoW and got the new $50-60 expansion every year. :(
TtheWriter truth though.
@@BooDotBoo this was the first pack-
They didn't know
These Sims reviews are great! They reflect what I feel about these games perfectly
Scientist job, welp, time to make Gordon Freeman.
You sure that won't have any negative repercussions?
Jailen Kurimuzon Pretty sure it will cause, unforeseen consequences
Genuine Anger Hahaha, nice one! There is no way I could have thought of such a fantastic pun.
***** I think Genuine Anger beat you to it.
Genuine Anger I know what would be the best sims expansion, The Sims 4: Half Life 3 Confirmed, which would include the holy crowbar worshiper job, where you go to space and go insane with the holy crowbar.
4:25 is Pushing Up Roses? :P Nice review man! :D I have no intention to play The Sims or the expansions, but always find it fun to watch your reviews!
"Making a note here:
HUGE SUCCESS"
Excellent. Love that reference.
Your Sims reviews are the only ones I'll ever watch. ♥
i still dont get it, why doesnt all the jobs get the treatment like these new ones? and why is the new neighborhood only have 4 lots on it?
When he said that the expansion only brings to light more drawbacks he wasn't kidding.
That'd probably double the size of the expansion depending on the current careers it has. But there's no excuse for that small neighborhood though. The console version of The Sims had more lots.
Capp Antwan They should've done that. It's not worth the price.
The "neighborhood" is actually just got the retail shops. It's not really a "neighborhood"
ExtremeX because the lots are meant to be for shops
so funny to be watching this now with all the new updates we've gotten
I wonder if he'll answer this comment...
NOPE
Lazy Game Reviews Well I guess I have to keep on dreaming!!
Should...Should..Should I tell him?...
+Sod Alfredsod nah XP
+Sod Alfredsod just let it happen
"It does scientific things, like analyzing vegetation, and rocks, or mineral. Jesus, Marie!" I LAUGHED AT THAT SO HARD.
Everybody comments on the still alive reference, what about the minerals?
By the way, there is no physical release? The Sims 4 are doomed to be only on Origin?
You can buy a physical copy of Get To Work.
The Lonely Cyberman Is the physical copy still just a code in a case, though?
MinecraftLuvr007 Physical copy is a DVD for the PC version, code only for Mac version.
Lazy Game Reviews Thank gosh, I was pretty upset when I saw that it was a code in the physical copy of the base game. Thanks for the reply, by the way. The showcase of the new chairs in the video was by far some of your best work.
Jesus Marie! Now get back to work.
“…studying minerals - jesus, marie!” Haha XD
What a great way to start my day. Breakfast while watching LGR.....
I watch video game reviews for all types of games. Yours are by far my favorite! You always nail the pros and cons and make it easy for me to decide if I want to spend money on the game (which I almost always do, with the exception of the Katie Perry Sweet Treats!). Thank you for all the time you put into this
Faith in sims restored by 50%
true..
I dunno.
You can mod the sims to get rid of the loading screens
All of your Sims videos are very cozy.
god TS2 Open For Business was SO GOOD. My favorite expansion of the entire franchise.
@2:27 I love the light coming out of the kid's other ear.
Technically Sims 3 Ambitions had more jobs.
GhostStylus true, but these jobs are a bit more polished and fun imo
GhostStylus These jobs in get to work are more detailed than the ones in ambitions. for example in ambitions you had a tattoo parlor career which you just go to create a sim and stick a fake tattoo on a sim.
I used the word technically. I didn't say Ambitions had better content.
oh... ok
But get to work is more hands on which makes it fun
Did no one notice the sims green hair at +0:57 in the video? I was like WOAH that's a lot of hair!
Needs Toddlers Now
The sims 4
Toddler life
My sim has life goal/dream to spend 1K on children stuff.
Once "Toddler Life" comes out she's gonna be spending more than just 1K.... I vote for this lmfao
Meh.
The toddlers always annoyed the hell out of me...Either mine would run around outside in -30 below temperatures, or i would run into a crap load of them crying with a gaggle of hungry adults
(reacting angrily at the noise)down by the theater :/
SιcĸVyвeX little did u know they were coming
I actually HELL enjoyed this review! I think it was the editing idk it was so fun
Man if the scientist career was a firefighter career instead, we could have called this The Sims 4: Chicago Expansion
Another good sims breakdown. LGR the best there is at lazy reviews
"Theme Hospital, this AINT though!" HA! Love it.
I just love your sassy reviews, so so much. Now that the packs are half price, you've convinced me to go for this one!
Also, just wondering if you think open world will ever be a thing in Sims 4? I miss that the most, and that's why I still find myself playing sims 3 more than sims 4 at this point.
Well, guess I won't be playing sims 4 anymore. That's a deal breaker for me.
Nevvy Herdover I soooo FEEL you... I love the open world... Sims 4 just makes me disappointed sometimes
Nevvy Herdover
Honestly for me, I'm okay with the compromise they have, which isn't as constrained as Sims 1 and 2, but doesn't have the insanely long loading times I sometimes had to deal with in Sims 3.
So true..Just imagine how beautiful would a sims 4 open world be with those amazing graphics and lighting.. :/
I think the neighbourhoods should be open world at least - having to have a loading screen between your house and the house next door is ridiculous!
I've watched this a few times now and only now did I notice the awesome Portal joke at 5:57
"Rocks.. or minerals...jesus Marie!" Breaking bad reference caught me off guard.
love your reviews!! everytime a new sims pack is out, i always look for your reviews haha!
Tell me more about them chairs
3:51 That laugh was perfectly timed.
I looked through the comments and it seems like there was a bunch of references, I only got the breaking bad one *~*
"making a note here, huge success"
I understood that reference.
That Alien world looks like Pandora from Avatar :o
I enjoy watching your reviews more than I enjoy actually playing
Cool! This looks like a solid addon
The kid at 2:26 looked a lot like Clementine from The Walking Dead! :O
I'm making a note here. Huge success.
This is so cool.I am looking forward to creating a photographer sim.As a mouse cursor I see my horizons expanding.
this may be an unpopular opinion. but sims 4 is my favourite.
both expansions are great.
i may buy some game packs soon.
and stuff
I totally agree! I just got the get to work expansion pack today!
I agree, the sims 4 looks amazing and the gameplay amazing. imo even better than the sims 3
+Ruben Makaya sure graphics and that is good but sims 4 definitely isn't better than sims 3.
KawaiiBearPaws Well imo it is because i never got thr hang of the things in TS3, but when i got TS4 it felt alot easier to control things. Altough the sims 3 had open world, i disliked that because of the lag and such. The sims 4 has loading screens but i'm perfectly fine with that.
looks like an awesome expansion pack, love the new occupations
