Perhaps one of the most iconic stall in Hong Lim market and food centre. This stall has history spanning from 1946 and is now run by the great grand daughter. Her skills displayed here seems damn pro to me. At least 100x better than those WOK HEI chain stalls with the yellow T-shirt. So enjoy the FIRE 🔥 AND THE SOUNDS folks!! Happy weekend ahead 😊😊😊
young generation like this are what we need to keep our local food alive. hawker food is irreplaceable. kudos to debbie, she really moves fast. i know her name from the CNA hawkers documentary.
@ Piggypuggy......oh boy, look at how she handles those woks. There must be lots of 💪 in those arms. The food offered in the menu must be savoury and smokey.....lots of wok hei. Har Chong Kai is an all time favorite, which I love too. Nearby is an old Confectionery shop selling great teochew pastries. Used to go there for freshly baked beh teh saw and tau sar pheah. The owner is a noble guy who gave up his education so that his younger brother could pursued his. Great footage and thank you for sharing, bro.
Her Chef skills are really commendable.. and mind you.. she only started in 2017. Even humble enough to say she’s still learning.. kudos to her learning Spirit and how she did a makeover to make this 1946 stall gain modern appeal with the Don rice bowls..
@@oneboonkeng1008 yeah.. and that confectionery.. I didn’t walk around that day.. I sorta remembered a cake shop at the corner too.. will check it out next time
Wa sah man. This chef sibei powerful. See the way she handled both wok you know her food is next level. I have not try before but looking at the wok hey ( Qi aka smokiness) I really want to go down to try it one day, 1 hour journey. May I know what is the stall name or unit number or operating hours
There’s a side exit from Chinatown Point to the hawker centre. They’re at the first floor once you enter #01-70. Tang Kay Kee. Here’s their Instagram: instagram.com/tangkaykee Think they start from 11am
@@Piggypuggy thank u thank you. Young chef! Opps sorry was looking at her skill I thought is a v experience cook already. 👏 not only the wok hey, see her timing for each ingredient is also v precise. I bet the meat are done just right. I cannot wait to go try!
Wow Puggy, you did it! What a good find, you have captured the best Wok Hei Hawker ever! She is a rock star and should be given an award with Michelin 3-star rating! Wish I could be there to watch live and to saviour her delicious wok hei infused fried rice and hor fun. Besides, she is also very meticulous in cleaning her wok, such good etiquettes. Truly appreciate this hawker! Yuuuummmmmm😋👍😂
Hahaha.. I wouldn't advise you to be there to watch.. my eyebrows been blessed repeatedly with the Fire 🔥 🥵 🥸 .. I'm also astoned by the competency given that she only took over a few years back 👍🏼
Chanced upon this vlog. Glad that for once... youtuber states the month & year . Would be even better if the date is mentioned. I’m 74, born & bred here. I don’t go out of my home in the early hours ( so breakfast time/ lunch time is out) & would appreciate if I know if the stall is operating during dinner/ supper time. Oh ! I think Uncle Roger WILL NOT approve cos ... no msg 😅
Fantastic zi char skills. The only dish that i see that has wok hei is the fried rice IF the diner ate it right away after plating. Wok hei aroma and taste will be gone after a few minutes. The kuay teow was plated there for so long. All the wok hei is gone.
😮😦 learnt something here.. I didn’t realise wok Hei diminishes over time. which explains why wok Hei smell is so strong when it’s still steaming hot from the wok. Sometimes I meddle around too long trying to get the camera gear in place.. lost out on the golden timing to consume it immediately 😑🫤
@@Piggypuggy , No worries. Can always order another one and ensure that you sit next to the stall. After she plates the dish, quickly volunteers to get the plate and eat it. That's wok hei.
Debbie do not do the frying when I last visited ! Unfortunately, the new guy frying was kind normal food you will find in every corner of Singapore. Portion was small and ingredient was terribly not fresh too. I think, if they want to change the chef at least keep up to the standard or else It a waste of time and money for this kind of food.
