I was named by my mausi (aunt). She came into the hospital. Since I was always smiling as a baby, she felt that I am मनमोहक. Hence, I was named Mohak :) I love my name because of the meaning it has and because it's really unique! I always get the email IDs I want :P What's the story of your name?
I was named by my grandfather because after my birth all their wishes they wished got true my brother got selected in football team and qualified as CA my way elder sis topped boards (they are my cousins) my mom got a job in school etc so they named me armaan
My name is Parayni. Named by my father even before I was born. He always wanted a baby girl. I come from the Santal community, a very ancient tribal community of India. Parayni means lotus in Santali and is pronounced as पोरायनी।😊 . Edit: Thank you so much for the appreciation and love. I never received this many compliments for my name. This was overwhelming💗 and yes I am from Odisha😁
My father and my grandma decided my name. When I was born, it was like a flood condition in the town because for 19 days it was raining continuously. So they named me Meghamala which means an array of clouds. Whenever I meet someone new I get compliments for having an unique name. ☺
I'm from Galo Tribe of Arunachal Pradesh. Our names hold no literal meaning but it defines our family tree and our ancient forefathers. I could count back to 18 generations of my lineage but just remembering the name. For example : My Grandfather was Ripak. My father was Pakgo and my name is Gotum. Ripak - Pakgo - Gotum. My children will have names starting from 'Tum' like Tumli, Tumba etc.
My name is Prantika, and I was named so because my mom was told by doctors that she won't be able to conceive anymore and I was the last child. So Prantika means 'the end'. Thank you for this video Mohak.
My name was suggested by my late grandfather. My parents both had their names beginning with S, so they wanted to name me something pretty and meaningful with an "S". My grandfather had decided the name even before I was born: Sanjukta. It means togetherness. Since I'm a Bengali, I was given two names. My parents then decided to call me Mohor, which basically means asset or gold coin. They said I was a precious gift to them, and now that is my nick name.
Initially i thought Mohak only researched on contents related to economics. But the way he is expanding his horizons is commendable. Keep up the good work. Your videos keep me hooked.
As a teacher, I have come across different variations of the same name. Zeel, Zheel, Zeal, Jheel, Jeel, Jill. There were twin brothers named, hold your breath, VIN and NIV. Reason: Father is Nikhil and Mother is Vandana.
My name was given by my doctor (gynaecologist) who delivered me. I was one of the toughest delivery of her life so she requested to name me after her own name... She's still in contact even after 19 years and loves a lot!!!! 🥰😄
In west bengal boys between 20-25 years old have very common and popular name "SOURAV". 🏏, If you shout Sourav in a crowd atleast 3 people will reply. 😜😜
When my mom was younger, she dreamed that if she ever had a daughter, she would name her Divya because before marraige her name was Jyoti (like Divya Jyoti), and when I was born, the pandit suggested the alphabet D and also said Divya would be a good name. But dad said Divya is very common, so he kept Divya but added a Shree to it. So that’s how Divyashree. And oh I’m the only Divyashree Mangalorkar in the whole world 😊 Dad passsed away when I was 2 and mum in 2019, but my name has both of their touch & that will always remain 💗
If some make fun of your name then simply abuse them. If someone says I did not abuse you then why are you abusing. Then say that I did not make fun of your name , then why are you making fun of my name ? If you don't want to abuse them then don't say anything. let them make fun of your name. After some time they will get bored and stop making fun of your name. If you say something they will not get bored and they will irritate you. stay calm Do this everyday then they will not make fun of your name in future.
A cousin of mine, born and brought up in the US, got married to a white guy. She wanted to name her daughter with Indian connection but easy to pronounce by the US people. So she named her Ellora. We all loved her name.
My name is Agniswar. My father gave me this name. He is a big fan of Uttam Kumar the legendary Bengali actor of the 60's era. Uttam Kumar once played the main role of a film named 'Agnishwar' which is based on a Bengali novel of the same name. Both the novel and the film revolves around the eponymous Dr. Agnishwar who is an extremely honest doctor and a good man as depicted in the film. The memory of this film flashed in my father's head when he named me and hence my name - Agniswar.
@@sorrymyenglishbad2535 I was never ridiculed for this name rather I am proud to have such a name. My teachers has praised this name while some of my friends jokingly called me 'Agnidev'. I don't know how much I deserve it or how far I kept its prestige but I love this name of mine.
My mother named me Anushka. When I asked her the story behind my name, she said that when she was in her college, she read a book. That story was based on a Russian girl who was strong, fearless, but kind and always smiling. But her name was Anoshka. When I was born, I would always smile and won't fear anything. So she named me Anushka. But then, Anushka Sharma entered bollywood and I was always bullie and teased for it. Now this doesn't matter to me as Anushka Sharma is really successful.
My mom was hoping for a girl and so decided on the name Niveditha. When she got a boy, decided to shorten it to Nivedh, which is actually a shortened form of Naivedhyam meaning "offerings to God"
When i was born my mom wanted to name me 'Sanaya' but for some reason that time they didn't like it. my family are big devotees of Sai Baba thats why they decided to put the word "Sai" in my name and finally named me Saismita,i actually like my name very much ,when i asked them the meaning they were like ' we don't know ' we just named you after Sai baba . Finally i had to search it myself on google and turns out its an Assamese name which means "one with a beautiful smile"❤
I named my son, Rudransh. I brought him home after 15 days of tough NICU period at hospital on the auspicious day of Mahashivratri. 😇. Also named my niece Aadishree 😀🎊🎉

I had a classmate who’s real name was Ranjana but she always said her name was Sanjana and her real name was revealed during 12th preboards when we were distributed our board roll numbers.

I was born on the day of Ram Navmi and also the last day of summer navaratri. There goes my name: "Vaishnavi" and I really love it, it has so many meanings!
When I was pregnant, my husband was very hopeful for a girl because he wanted to name the baby after his late mother "Shanta". As luck would have it, I gave birth to a boy. My mother suggested that we modify my mother in law's name to fit a boy's name. So now my son's name is Shantanu.
When my mom was in college she had a wish of having a daughter and naming her "Shuchismita"(woman with the purest smile). My classmates and the people I met said that my smile is so mesmerising 🙃Mom literally choose the best name for me ❤️
I'm not lying, my neighbour uncle has named his 2 year old son "Virtual"😂 cause he likes the word a lot. I hope they realise their mistake and change his name.
That's nothing, there's one tribe in our area who names their children like ' Freedam' 'Daimon' 'Sunrise' 'Sanbright' 'Roket' 'Strong' ' Morningstar' and what not🤣
I was born on 17th June and it was cloudy whole day and raining heavily later and was the first rain of the season ! So my dad decide to name me megha ! ❤️
I actually really love the meanings behind our Indian names. When you get to learn the meaning, sometimes it really impacts you as well how carefully your name was chosen. Sometimes it signifies hopes and wishes for the kid, blessings, sometimes what our parents/grandparents wish our life would be like, what we achieve whether success or happiness or health and prosperity...I know change is inevitable, but I hope this doesn't change too much and people still give their kids meaningful names. The thing with Sanskrit names, or names in old languages/inspired from them is how one word, one syllable can hold such intricate meanings... I really cherish my name and it brings me joy when I think of how my grandfather chose it for me, especially now that he's not here. Thinking of it brings those memories back
My father applied lot of logic to name keeping. He decided my name should not come first during viva and practicals . There are 26 letters 26/2= 13. M is the 13th letter. So, M was fix. My mom wanted to name me either muskan or mahi whereas dadu wanted to name me Sumedha.Papa finally decided to name me Medha(wisdom) Mummy got her chance when my sister was born, they named Her Mahi :) Ps: Due to online classes, viva happened in groups so my name came in the last😂
My named is Hari. My mother during her pregnancy, on every Saturday she used to get the dreams of lord Venkateswara Swamy (tirupathi balaji). Hence she named me HARI which is an another name of lord Venkateswara Swamy.
This is why I’m very proud that my father chose an uncommon name and it holds history. My grandfather named me sushmita at first but my father objected it because during that time sushmita sen was crowned and people would think that my parents named me that just because of sushmita sen and also sushmita is a very common name, so he read several newspapers, novels and then he read our religious book he was mesmerised by the name and thought that’d be the best for me. My name is Lopamudra.
People I know generally troll me for having 'nath' in my name. They say it feels like I'm an old man . I always felt bad about it but now I realise people are either obsessed or jealous or uncomfortable with anything contradicting their generic mind set.
Your name has a royalty in it. Don't pay attention to these people I was bullied alot for my name and I still don't get why? Beacuse my name is extremely unique and attractive. I always loved my name. So be happy and proud of it.
When I was borned my name was Finalized as "Anamika "by my aunt . I was being called with this name in school, home everywhere until 2 incidents took place 1. I met with a priest and asked the meaning of my name .He told me that my name is meaningless, means my name has no meaning.(I was stunned to know this ) 2. A newly serial came in which Anamika was the name of a ghost (bhootni) After knowing this i was bullied by my siblings. So i told my father to change my name . So this is how my name originated as "Priyanshi" which means "Lovable"
In my family we have a trend of giving different names of Lord Vishnu to the male child. Grandfather- Bal Krishna , Father- Satish and Myself- Aniruddha
My mother's name is Kaveri so she wanted to name me too after a river. My grandfather (father's dad) was a Bangladeshi refugee and thereby wanted to name me after something which has connection with Bangladesh. Thereby I got my name, as Meghna is a very important river of Bangladesh
I was named by my school teacher.. when my parents took me to school for admission teacher asked them d name of baby n dey were like that we used to call her gudiya 😂😂.. at that time one of my school teacher named me who was reading a book of Ravindra nath Tagore's Geetanjali.. lol such a hilarious story behind my name.. my parents forgot to named me 😂😂😂
My mother is M.A. in Ancient Indian History so she wanted to keep a unique and historical name for me just like hers. My grandfather too was always interested in History even though it wasn't his line but then he suggested Sanghamitra since it is King Ashoka's daughter's name and would be comparatively easy to pronounce later on when I grow up
My name is Sneh and I am a boy, when I was like 6-12 years old, I was always made fun of because how my name sounded like “snake” and how it resembled the name “Sneha”, I always wanted to change my name. But now that I am older this name has made me stand out, cuz of its meaning (Love) and that it’s quite unique, specially for a boy.
It is beautiful. You know, if they'd made a Bollywood smash hit with a cute hero named "Sneh" (instead of Prem), your name would have made you the most popular boy in school and no one would have had trouble pronouncing it or made fun.
That's really uncommon but so great at breaking gender norms na! We typically associate love with a female, this is a good concept your parents pulled off.
Me and my brother are twins and we were named by our doctor who operated the delivery during our birth. Swayang ( meaning self in Sanskrit) and Sampurna ( meaning complete in Sanskrit). Swayam-sampurn is a word in Sanskrit meaning self completion. 🌷
In my case my neighbor suggested my parents to keep my name "Shravani" because I was born in the month of "August" and according to Marathi calendar "August" means "shravan"
My parents visited Karnataka before I was born and went to the famous pilgrimage, Dharamshala. There is a river that flows from there called Netravathi, and that's how my parents named me. I'm NETRA and I honestly love my name, it's pretty exotic and unique.
I am named yash, reason i have two sisters named Shraddha and Pooja, so as per chronology a sentence forms "Shraddha se Pooja karo aur Yash paao" Means if you will pray with all your heart and mind you will get happiness and success... That it... Let me know how was it
@Chinese Communist Virus not only in parts of Jharkhand, Bihar and UP but other states as well. I think there must be a reason for the parents keeping such names. Warna aise kaun rakhta hain naam!
9:05 , i wanna add something here as i am also a native uttarakhandi. Ganga Ram = lower caste Ram Ganga = Upper caste Name of gods used after real name is done by lower caste , see GANGA ram TULA ram , vice versa for upper caste people. This Sanskritisation is really helping to reduce discrimination , generally people of grandparents age r now have that discrimination type feeling, In coming times this little discrimination also ends with the end of that old generation ❤️
I was named Avantika after my Mummy and Mama did a lot of numeroloical research and hence came up with the name Avantika. My name was also named after knowing that it was Lord Shiva's Puri's name also called as Ujjain. As I am the first daughter my name also meant as the very first flower of the season and that makes a sense here too. So I am in love with my name since I know how much meaning it holds for me and my family.
My mama first named my sister aashita but when I told him she'll get 1 roll number and you have to go first in ptm and her copy will be checked first, he changed it to varshita 🤣
My name is Ovi it literally means a good message from Marathi saints. When I was born my father was the most happiest person so,he decided to distribute sweets in our neighbours and relatives with the great message of "mulgi zali ho"(a girl is born) And hence,he named me as Ovi. I Iove my name not just because it's so unique but its meaning is so vibrant
I heard the name ovi in pavitra rishta, that time I was fascinated by the name, but today I got to know ovi means 'a good message from marathi saints' also all characters in pavitra rishta were setup as maharashtrians.
I have a suggestion for parents. If iconic Bollywood characters indeed influence your child's name then you could consider keeping boy's name as "Bulla". He's an iconic character for those of you who know🙂🙃😶.
As our family is devoted to Sri Aurobindo, my Baba wrote a letter for asking a name to the Sri Aurobindo Ashram Pondicherry, and as a reply he received my name, that's how I got my name. Loved this video!
My name is Ladlee. My father looked at me & that is the only thought he had in his mind. I am proud of my father for gifting me the most unique & most beautiful name.
My Name:Rajiv Meaning:One of name of Shri Ram, one with lotus eye. And actually people my eyes are like lotus and tall as Ram and my friend and relatives sat my qualities related with Ram.
Actually, my Kundli say to keep name with "Me" and in kundli my name is Meghnath means "lord of thunder". But My father kept Rajeev. And coincidence both Rajeev & Meghnath are according to my name and fits on me.
Glad to know that you are actually tall. We had a classmate with this name in school who was the shortest boy in the class. I didn't know the meaning of Pranshu earlier, but now I won't forget it ever.
I'm Shrinivas, I'm from Maharashtra. People in nearby region are great devotees of lord Tirupati Balaji and 'Shrinivas' is one of the names of lord Tirupati Balaji, hence my name.
My name is Ganga, my parents didn't have kids for 2 years after marriage, they prayed and did Ganga pooja so i was born and they named me Ganga. My daughter was born 2nd day of Navaratri - "Day of Brahmacharini" goddess of penance so I named her Tapasya.
This trend is not just restricted to India. The Urban Rich People in other Asian countries like china, south korea, japan name their kids which sounds less Asian(White names) and they all have one thing in common- They want their kid to study in US or Europe: white sounding names are less likely to face racism. But in Indian context, shift towards globalised names is more like a Class Establishing Phenomenon. Rich parents want their kid to have fancy names which is Kyra, myra, ayan, at present but will change with time.
Not true. This is mostly true of immigrants already living in those countries. Those people have both a Chinese name & an English sounding name for official purposes. Parents always use the chinese name to address their child.
@@globalcitizenn To some extent, you’re right. But there’s are lots of people who adopt English seeming names in Hong Kong and China; such as Apple, Dodo, Bambi and Heinz specially when they start work.
This might me true for china but not for Japan and South Korea . They both are developed countries and immigration from these countries is very low to western countries.
I was named Vasili after the soviet Aerospace engineer and inventor Yuri Vasilievich Kondratyuk. He wrote the conquest of interplanetary travel which formulated the maneuvers that lead to the first man on the moon. Neil Armstrong visited his hometown after the success of Apollo 11 mission. My father was inspired by Marxist views and read about Soviets a lot. Also the Soviet Union was very popular in the 70s so he first read about the name Vasilisa in a Soviet magagazine.😁
During the Cuban Missile Crisis, a man named Vasili Arkhipov pretty much single handedly saved the world from nuclear war. USA had imposed a naval blockade on Cuba in response to the Soviets stationing nuclear missiles there (barely a few hundred kms from the coast of Florida). WW3 seemed inevitable. A Soviet submarine was detected and followed by American ships in the Carribean Sea. The Americans tried to get the submarine to surface through controlled explosions but the submarine crew interpreted it as the start of the war. The launch of nuclear missiles was approved by 2 of the 3 heads of the submarine crew but the third one, Vasili Arkhipov refused to authorize the launch.
I was named "Gargi" by my grandmother . My grandma was such a learnt woman ...according to her she named me after the great female scholar,Gargi Vachaknavi..one of the icons of feminism in vedic times. The only woman to debate with the great scholar Yajnavalkya organised by Raja Janak. Infact Raja Janak was so impressed that he made her one of the navratnas in his court . I am always mindful of keeping the standards of my name .😇😇
As far as I know this Navratna (9 gem ) concept was only there in two Royal courts - one of Chandragupta -II and one of Akbar . Raja Janak I dunno.... girl if that's factually correct 😅😅
My mother used to fast when she was 9 months pregnant with me. People around her used to say that I am fasting in my mother's womb . That's why my name is saima ( a person who's fasting ).
Since everyone is talking about names here, let me add my two cents. My daughter's name is Anika. In Hebrew it means graceful lady, it is also another name of Godess Durga. But the main reason why we chose that name was - it's a combination of two names (Ani)L and Priyan(ka) and it also had some good meaning as well.
Agreed, everything's in a name. One I've always been really fascinated about is Sita's different names. Especially Vaidehi. It sounds so beautiful; classical yet modern. Musical almost.
My son was born on 11-11-11, so I took 1 as AN and named him as Anan (eleven) this also combined initials of me and my wife Anand and Anju. Smart right :)
Mohak hands-on has transformed this channel into a completely trustable source for many of us. In a time where many channels are solely focused on getting more views through clickbaits, Mohak has been delivering quality content throughtout. I wish you all the success. 🙌🏼💫
My father wanted to marry Dr. Nasreen, but for some reason he couldn't.. So he named me Nasreen. So that I could become a doctor. P. S- I am Dr. Nasreen Ali MD pediatrics..
My initial name that my father researched was avarnika, he thought it is unique but when the birth certificate came it was written aparnika 😂so idk who gave me my name
All hail bureaucracy! The True Provider of Names! My first name did not have any such trouble. As simple Sumit. Everybody understands it and there is not much of heavy perception annotated with it. But I had My Full name as Sumit Singh Rana. But the Aadhar Card and School Certificate mention only the Sumit Singh so I had to go with that. Singh part in my name is not even that important. And yet I have to Omit. Rana and can't omit Singh. Singh turned into last name instead of my first name
My grandfather named me Vikramaadithan (Tamil version of Raja Vikramaaditya) because he always admired the legend. The king was a hearty mixture of valour and wisdom. My mom shortened it to Aadhith, to suit her astrological needs. 😊 Great video about a very unique topic. I love the diversity in your content. ❤
Nice name. Sanskrit names sounds too good in compare to John, Ron, Paul, kaul, Roy type meaningless English names. Now when i read names like agastya, ajatshatru, yagyadhara, vikramaditya, baladitya, etc it feels like king.👑 Indian parents should start using these names.
@@kartiksavaliya7192 very true! Your name is also a good one, after Lord Kartikeya. I always like Lord Kartikeya's names for boys, like Kartik, Skanda, Vimala etc.
My actual name is Soumyadeep, and that database just says it's "very rare". My name is of old Bengali origin. In old Bengali, Soumya means powerful but delicate, and deep just means a diya, an earthen lamp. So, my name means the light from a diya, that is bright but delicate.
Most of arabic feminine names end with "ah" which Sounds "aa" in speaking ... For example 'aliyah" commonly known as 'aliya is actually feminine version of 'ali... Ali means high and 'aliyah" is a feminine version (she)high. Some more examples:- Jameel - jameelah (beautiful) Shakir - shakirah (thankful) FarHan - farHanah (very happy) The "H" sound is usually missed while speaking. But it doesn't mean that every girl name ends with "ah" sound in Arabic.
@Ranjit Tyagi Misbah actually means a tool that brings morning and it is actually used for lamp and also for stars. Misbah is derived from Arabic word subH roughly in Urdu as subah meaning morning..... sidrah is actually arabic name for Lote tree
My dad was poet. So he thought to keep rhyming names of both the babies he have. So we are now STUTI and SHRUTI. People remember me very quickly and always I tend to get into conversations even with unkown people cause of my name. I really love my name, Stuti
My name is krishna and I have named my daughter Gayatri. I appreciate the content and presentation of your video. It's true that many parents are naming their children purely going by 'uniqueness' criteria. What's there in a name? Sounds play very important role in our lives in shaping our feelings, tempers and emotions. Name is also a sound with which we are identified with for a life time. So a lot lies in a name.
My name is quite different in other communities, but I guess pretty common in bengali. So it’s Gargi. Gargi was the first woman who had mastered all puranas and Vedas. My father was fascinated by this name, so kept it and I am quite thankful that he did.
My mama(my mother's brother) named me as Supriya. He said when he was walking he saw a clinic board and there it was written Dr. Supriya Shrinivas. He liked the name so much and I was named Supriya.
Hrutu is actually a VERY Indian name. "ऋतू" is pronounced Hrutu in Marathi. It's equivalent in Hindi is Ritu - many Hindi speakers pronounce the 'R' incorrectly nowadays (without the 'h' sound), and the vowel at the end is 'i' in Hindi, but 'u' in Marathi.
Well the names sound foreign, and anyone (who is ignorant towards lingual nuances) will say it's Urdu/Islamic. A few sounds more Japanese to me though.
Video request: Broken Indian Healthcare System. How would India become a superpower when the public health care system is extremely underfunded and understaffed and the corporate healthcare is on the path of becoming as expensive as the US. When I was born my nanu managed to get a thousand Indian names starting with the letter N ( N because of my zodiac sign, also my mom and nanu have the same letter names:). It was a month-long process, they began shortlisting, from 1000 to 500, 250,100,50,25 and to 10. We had a big ritual for name-keeping and during that day around 120 people voted on the top 10, which was brought down to the top 5, and from that Nimaay was the winner with more than 50% votes alone :). The other top contestants were 2nd, Nirmit, 3rd was Nachiket, and 4th was Nitya(can't remember the 5th). Until then I was called Rishi, which was given by a cousin + it was my mom's favorite actor, It later became my pet name and is often used more than my real name. so tiring, right?
Hi my name is Kathika pronounced as Kothika, it has a Bengali meaning "summary". I thank my parents everyday for this name 😂 It's uncommon, sounds a bit modern but has Indian/Bengali significance.
I was named Swaratmika because it was a name my father liked for my sister(vagmita) but because a Pandit told him that she will have temper issues when she grows up he decided against it. Because 'swaratmika' is another name for goddess durga(but that didn't change her temper issues when she grew up). Swaratmika (swar- aatma-ika) means composed of melody or a melodious soul.
I belong to Ho tribe of Jharkhand. In our culture we conduct a ceremony for naming the child in which we drop certain rice, urad dal and some more items in a brass vessel with water in it, while remembering or calling out a particular forefather or foremother's name and according to the floating pattern we decide to assign the name. Now following this tradition my name was assigned "Turam" (name of my mother's uncle/chacha my nana) and this name was very much common in my mother's side (5 members) so with little modification it was decided to name me "Tarun" instead but still I consider it my original assigned name. This tradition is slowly fading as I have seen this ceremony performed only once while naming my little cousin. Another interesting naming trait in this region is after favourite footballer's name since it's widely popular sport in the region, my another cousin is named after Robinho (famous Brazilian player).
I was named by my bade papa. He named me Aishwary. Even though I am a male. Seems like he was a Aishwarya Rai fan 👀🤣
Videos bhi bade mohak hai...
My father named me Narendra Vishwakarma.
Now I called by my friends Modi... But I really don't like the nickname given to me by my friends 😅.
I was named by my grandfather because after my birth all their wishes they wished got true my brother got selected in football team and qualified as CA my way elder sis topped boards (they are my cousins) my mom got a job in school etc so they named me armaan
My bua named me

Myra is a slur in my language 😌
@@asimpleman6464 yes lol anyone named myra would be roasted in kerala and TN

Also the Soviet Union was very popular in the 70s so he first read about the name Vasilisa in a Soviet magagazine.😁
haha nice vasili is also a Russian slap champion
edit: Also Vasili Arkhipov, the one who negated a potential nuclear warfare.
not gonna lie but i have seen that yuri name in russians is very common
Thank god it wasn’t vasuli
Wasn't Vasili Zaitsev a very well decorated Soviet Sniper of the WW2.

I wish my parents had given more thoughts to my name 🥲🥲
My name is also Anika
Agreed, everything's in a name.
One I've always been really fascinated about is Sita's different names. Especially Vaidehi. It sounds so beautiful; classical yet modern. Musical almost.
My son was born on 11-11-11, so I took 1 as AN and named him as Anan (eleven) this also combined initials of me and my wife Anand and Anju. Smart right :)

Most of arabic feminine names end with "ah" which Sounds "aa" in speaking ... For example 'aliyah" commonly known as 'aliya is actually feminine version of 'ali... Ali means high and 'aliyah" is a feminine version (she)high.
Some more examples:-
Jameel - jameelah (beautiful)
Shakir - shakirah (thankful)
FarHan - farHanah (very happy)
The "H" sound is usually missed while speaking.

That's cool

I think the rice thing is pretty common in Indian households before naming the child
