Should replace the word men and women when it does not fit. No men would ask that neither would a woman acccept, so it should say ''in which a male asks a female'' and so on, men and women are not insane like that. At most they can only be called females and males, even if they are not even humans lol, bye.

Being a Bengali I always love the entertainment part of Telegu movies but I have always wondered why women are portrayed in such a derogatory way. Even the A-listed actors who are fathers of young girls portray such characters. This is not just a problem with Telegu movies, its a problem in entire South Commercial Masala flicks.
"women are portrayed in such derogatory way". It's not like men are dressing as women and then being portrayed in demeaning way. All the actresses who were mentioned in the video are from outside Andhra. They are selling their skin and beauty for money and all you people would talk about is how to blame a male for this! As if all these actresses are kids to be exploited and manipulated! Way to go......
this is why sai pallavi hasn't returned to tollywood yet. as we already know her script selection is very selective and thoughtful. if tollywood only produces regressive movies then they will lose out on talented actors and become an ageing industry
I really like and admire sai pallavi , the way she speaks out against issues in the industry as well as colorism and her choice of films. I wish she would get more recognition
But she is acting in Tollywood movies. Right now she is acting with Naga Chaitanya. She has been making Telugu movies constantly. But she is very selective in choosing scripts. Be it Tamil, Telugu or any language. Chill dude 😂.

@@akane_s_Itō Just because she doesn't do misogynistic movies doesn't mean she isn't versatile. Rashmika does a lot of movies, but that isn't exactly a testament to her versatility because most of those movies are misogynistic and one note.
Recently so many RW supporters criticised Pathaan movie using religion/colour of religion, etc. But it's misguided. If they want to criticise, they should have talked about the depiction of relationships between men and women in movies. Also I don't think "sexualisation" alone is a problem. It becomes a problem when it becomes sexist.
That's so true! I was looking for this comment... everyone says that Colour Photo was a breath of fresh air - and it was, I agree - but even in that the heroine had to be fair-skinned. Not even one dark-skinned woman in a movie whose main theme is colorism...
and its the other way around in Hollywood, the indian-foreign actresses all have dark complexions and they are much better actresses than anyone from bollywood
As a Telugu person I feel relieved that at least someone is calling out the problematic side of tfi. I love our Telugu movies but the main heroes(nepotist) and producers/directors always make the most problematic cringe stuff. But as they have this deep caste based celeb following and fandoms, they are not even called out. However the new wave of Telugu heroes especially Nani and Rana give me some hope these days.
Nepo kids like Bul bul balayya is cringe to watch, remaining nepo kids are more humble well behaved than new comers. And you are wrong about new comers also. Most of the toxic films were made by konda Babu Vijay devarakonda
As a telugu girl i always had a problem with such movies and people next to me would bash me for watching other languages. Every single thing mentioned in this are absolutely true and disheartening that people don't realise the effect these movies have on them. Exactly . These movies brainwashes audience . I remember watching Shruthi hassan fight scene in krack movie and my dad asked , "why did they give a fight scene to her .There is already a hero in the film" and i was like What?
As a Telugu person, I feel that a good percentage of worthwhile and good quality movies don't come from the celebrated stars and directors, but the new gen upcoming directors. Unfortunately, most people are introduced to the star driven movies with similar crap, rather than the meaningful ones, solely because of popularity.

My wife & I went to watch the Hindi version of “Arjun Reddy”, “Kabir Singh”. I found it so disrespectful to women that I told my wife this movie was way beyond my capacity of digesting content and that I wanted to leave, but if she wanted to I could stay. Before you jump into conclusions I would like you to know some history my wife had made me walk out of "Bullet Raja way back in 2013 although I liked it, we also had an experience during our initial days of marriage, my wife somehow wished to be intellectual crowd of city so we went around watching a few PLAYS (DRAMAS) and one of them was like a 1 hr monologue filled with screaming and both of us sat through it thinking if we interrupt, we would get judged and only when we walked out after sitting through 1 hr of torture we realized that both of us hated it but sat through because maybe the other person liked it so that day we decided if we dislike something we will be cadid about it and say it upfront). So inspite of my offer to stay back if she wanted we left after interval. But my wife was so upset with me, cause she thought I was so “intolerant”. She vowed she would not watch any other movie with me after that. I could not understand how she was ok to watch the normalisation of domestic violence on women. It took time but she eventually understood my perspective
If violence happens to men, atleast they are able to recognise it but when it happens to women maximum can't able to recognise it. They think it's normal, everywhere it is happening and many things!!
It's great that you recognised what was wrong . Many people failed to do so .Abuse ,stalking ,eve teasing are very often portrayed as romantic.Even some women who see these things around them and experience them think it is normal because thats how the society portrays it to be .

Inspired by movies (in general), I had a real stalker following my cab from home to college daily and when I went somewhere outside home, It was irritating and I had to stop going out for some years freely because I thought I was ashamed for no reason and what if my family found out. He was around 35+ whereas I was 19 years old. After a few years, I finally told my family and filed a police complaint when I was studying for my final sem exams, he had come to repair some wires next to my house. Definitely, this incident brought me a lot of fear. This is not only for me, there is always one such incident happened to every girl in India.
I have similar experience. My stalker is actually my childhood classmate. He still stalks me online through different new profiles even after a police complaint. He even used google pay to reach me. That feeling of being unsafe even while surrounded by your loved ones, inside your home, no words.
Not completely related to above but when people ask why you like korean dramas.. what's so good about it? This.. this RIGHT HERE. they depict female character so beautifully, that they deserve a kind love, a respectful partner and an important role in their life. Also you might have seen they're shown as independent working class women, whose opinions and decisions matter. Movies affect people and people affect movies. One needs to break the cycle and I'm sure, we'd see a positive change in people's mindset too.
might be true for some cases but most of the popular korean dramas have very bad male and female leads tho. sure, there might not exactly be any domestic violence in them, but the relationships would be the most toxic, cringe-inducing relationships of all time. they have the same formula present in media like twilight, fifty shades of grey, after, 365 days, wattpad books, etc. that the male lead is toxic because of a traumatising past, and the female lead is a dumb, weakling who is only presented "strong" as a reason to "fix" the male lead.
As a native Telugu, I would say we have equal share of movies that are as such but sadly the movies that are blockbusters not only in Telugu states but also viewed in other dubbed versions are these kind , this actually shows the basic indian mindset and their levels of acceptance...

This brings back so many Cloakroom Nightmares. I was in my first year of MBBS, and Arjun Reddy was the first ever movie that showed a Medico, so all my friends were very excited to watch it. Only after watching it did I realise how troubling it was and it had nothing to do with a doctor's life. It was a TOXIC movie. I even shouted in the theatre for the first time in my life, "CONSENT". But, for my friends it was a very entertaining and cool movie. I could not speak out about it in front of them. I only vowed to never go to another movie that my friends would recommend. This is the sad reality of it. The audience is like that. Many big Telugu directors are actually famous, more for their objectification of female actors than for good movies. Thank you for making a video about this.
I did watch Kabir Singh, the Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy, and boyyy, I was telling my friends that if Kabir ODed and died instead, after hearing that his ex Preeti is getting married, and Preeti actually ended up having a happy life with the guy she married first, that would have been hella entertaining. They seem to just want some western attention, proof of why it is wrong, they need to stop being westernized. Love, love, that profile picture by the way soo great. Love animals.
I'm a Telugu. Thank you very much for sharing this. Another thing I want to point out, which I've observed in Indian movies, predominantly in Telugu movies is that people are made fun of because of their skin color, and most heroes and heroines wear extra make up to look fair - this is gradually reducing nowadays, but there's still a long way to go to accept every skin color as equal.
@@Saurabh_Utter-Pradesh bro what the hell does literacy have to do with being informed about discrimination based on skin colour. Literacy is the ability to read. That's it. That's literally it. Just because a state has high literacy doesn't mean they're all reading an umpteen amount of sociology and psychology books pertaining to perception of dark skin and whatnot. I’m from Andhra and I concur!!.. Very well researched and presented. Though K Raghavendra Rao is old filmmaker and he represents that generation, the new age filmmakers are still practising the same including so called great directors of present gen. Arjun Reddy was made by a next gen director and presenting toxic masculinity and glorifying is the worst part and his “justification” was sick. Hope new age directors wont repeat the same… cinematic liberty should always there.. but our directors can’t think beyond sexist jokes and objectification. A character from rural 80s should behave like that we cannot compare that with modern yardstick, thats not my point. My problem is with modern directors.. take for eg. the heroine intro scene from vinaya vidheya rama. When cinema was an art rather than business they can express what they want, but when cinema became business they have to cater for the wider audience. Demand and supply. But the prob is they cant push the mediocre intellect of audience.

Sensitivity in stories that we see makes us think deeply on matters related to moral values and consent, which is something we are lacking poorly as a society.
Well said ajita👏👏.... Also i think that more women should raise their voice where necessary...like the comedy actor praising anushka's thighs in a sexual way, Anushka should have raised her voice then and there only. We humans are only teaching how we should be treated, same goes for women. Only womens can break this toxic circle between viewers expecting sexualized content and directors serving sexualized content by protesting. Greed also plays a huge role in this as females are ready to sign any movie nowadays to get into this industry. Correct me if wrong 🙂.
The problem with women raising their voice is they will not get work anymore. A good example is the me-too movement in India. While people like Harvey Weinstein were prosecuted by the film industry of Hollywood, no such thing happened with women who raised their voices in India. Not one case of anyone facing any meaning punishment for banishment of any kind. There is very limited scope to which the female actresses can raise their voices if they want to have a career in Indian film industry.

Finally someone acknowledged this. I remember mentioning the same problem to my sister once, she answered by telling me that I am intolerant and if one watches a movie they should take a joke. And she, out of all the people, is one of the biggest women supporter I know. I was shocked at the effect these movies were creating. Recently there was this movie, Pathan, I don't think much of the movie and storyline but one thing that I dearly respect is the way women are portrayed in that movie. There was this scene where Deepika Padukone hits one guy square in the jaw and Shahrukh Khan says"women" using the word in the same tone as it had been used for in so many memes, but in a total opposite prospect. I love how this guy find all those little things that we all neglect but are deeply disrupting our society.
It seems so obvious when one speaks about it, actually have their eyes opened, but when many watches a movie they do not notice the subtle ways that the poison slips by and can enter the subconscious (if I spelt that right) which sadly is leading to a lot of problems to be adopted even in somewhat intelligent people bcz they might not really notice.
Sad part is no one is talking anything about these mysogynistic atmosphere in these movies. I think this isn't the probelm only in telegu or south indian movies...as the movies get enormous appreciation through the country... it's definitely portraying the whole image of how the country thinks. This is the reason i personally never liked blockbuster movies. An appreciable voice out by soch❤️

And where false accusations from women can send you to court without any evidence. I see no Feminist groups fighting for these unjust laws against men. They like to announce they want equality but now i suspect more and more that they want female supremacy and more power at the expense of men.
As a telugu language speaker, I'm glad you brought up this topic. Thanks for making this video, Mohak! As a native Telugu, the mainstream movies have been so cringe-worthy for so many years now that we have stopped watching movies. So much that these are internalized by the society and people no longer see these as problematic. Anyone who raises these issues are bullied & trolled by the fans of these so-called stars.
[Not totally related to this video] but a message to fellow Indians on the ‘Boycott Bollywood’ trend: Being from South India, I really hate this fragmentation thats going on in the Indian Cinema Industry these days. I see a lot of comments where people are fighting over this Bollywood vs SI movies or SI’s fighting amongst their movie Industries. Wtf is wrong with us!? All of these are Indian Cinemas. I love watching movies & gaining perspectives, so for me industry doesn’t matter. I have seen alot of North eastern( Assamese, Nagaland etc), Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi movies & trust me guys, the perspectives you gain through various industries is surreal. Every Industry in India have got gems in them which far surpasses some of the famous western movie scripts, directing style, cinematography or narration style. However, idk why people fight tho. Bollywood alone doesn’t have shitty movies. Just like Bollywood, We(South) have got a lot of crap in our movies. Some of our movies are cringey, sexist af but there are gems too. So, for god sake stop this Segregation/Groupism among cinemas. Just like Bollywood, even SI Industry have ‘Nepo kids’ but we are scared to raise voice against them because every star has a loyal fanbase who treats them like God even though some of them make shitty movies. If anybody raises their voice, their loyal followers will come at your doorstep to kick ur a$$. Literally we treat them like GOD! by installing huge posters, garlands, pouring abhishekam etc. Idk wtf is wrong with us tho. They are just artist, it is their duty to give us quality movies(which they hardly do).Anyways, my point is please stop this Comparison between Industries & support quality Movies irrespective of Industry. Peace. PS: Fellow South Indians, please don’t get butt hurt. I’m stating fact about our industries. Just bcuz we are at spotlight these days doesn’t mean all our movies are gold. Cringe exists in our movies too!!!
He just wanted to troll tollywood..just watch Arjun Reddy again ( airport scene). Heroine also slaps the Hero.....he just picked up scenes which helped you to troll tollywood
I agree, but according to me, the trend of boycotts should go on not because of any cinematic issue but for better economics. See the entire movie industry transfers thousands of crores from the middle class to individuals which is totally wrong. Also, most of the movies are actor-centric doesn't matter if the movie has quality or not it must have a good actor which narrows the entry, and the cherry on the cake we have nepotism. If the trend continued there is a hope that our movies will turn from actor centric to really good movies and a major chunk of the budget goes to the VFX team, CGI team, story writers, dialogue writers, and other important aspects which will recirculate the money to middle class This money will boost the purchasing power of the middle class helping businesses open new businesses which would pull foreign money contributing to the GDP of the country This will in turn pull thousands of people out of poverty, increase the living of the middle class, boost education, research and initiate a power cycle of development
As a Telugu and regular watcher of telugu mov I would say, this review was well researched and brought up some of the imp issues like Objectifying Women , Glorifying Male Chauvinism for profits , and if the film makers questioned abt this, they use a simple coverup line " We r following the trend or Giving them what they(Youth) need in the movie".

Good! So we are gonna ignore all the actresses who are part of item songs on their own consent. Do people actually think that these actresses are "forced" to perform in item songs? Like I don't understand the logic with these videos and blaming the men. It's like women can do anything just cuz they're women, like a woman can walk naked on street because it's her choice apparently and if a man gets an erection cuz if it, it's his fault? And notice how Mohak didn't even blame at least one actress in the video? It's always the director and the actor fault. Never the actress' fault! Never! God gimme a break dude please!
There are many things to say, First of all, I can show you many such jokes, movies and all where Men are degraded. Have you seen him uttering a word about that ?? And in Pushpa, Hero and Heroine both knew each other and it was just romance but he cherrypicked and presented that part in such a way that, you people believed blindly whatever he said. Basically, what you all are trying to say is anything about Women shown in movie except those places where they are shown as great or dominating Men are wrong. Don't you feel it's immaturity nothing else ?? In many movies, Women who degrade Men are shown as heroine or great Women. Have you seen him uttering a word about that ?? In his video, "Why Indian Men are not Marrying ?" There, he mentioned many reasons but didn't mention the most important and major reason i.e. "Misuse of laws by Women". Don't you think, he is doing it intentionally ?? I still like his informative videos but these are the things to think deeply about. And just because Women are shown being slapped or are shown dancing or being touched by a Man that's why these films are bad clearly shows immaturity because movies are just made for entertainment and all are not made for social messages. It's either immaturity or ego which they satisfy by saying such things.
Exactly I watched Pushpa movie in the cinemas with my family and I felt so uncomfortable to sit and watch with my family...the movie was about smuggling so they could have shown it in some other way also but the directors decided to sexualize the movie😢😔

As a global movie buff who is a Telugite, I thank you so much for raising this 100% genuine & critical problem in Telugu movies. I am ashamed to support most of the (mostly) good movies from Tollywood because of that mandatory 10% casual sexism and objectifying on screen. I see people defending K Raghavendra Rao due to his age factor; remember we also had another gem director in the same era - K Vishwanath. All it takes is a combo of skilled writer and a responsible director - its not space magic to "show women in dignified manner yet make money at the same time."

As someone who watched some telugu films growing up, I can say that there have both progressive and regressive telugu films over the years. Let it early 2000's films like Anand or Godavari or new films like SitaRamam, Ante Sundaraniki, Fidaa or Shyam Singha Roy, films that display progressive women and ideologies, no toxic scenes are being made. Commercialization of films to create mass moments needs to produced mindfully. At the end, the responsibilities fall on us as audiences to encourage movies that are good for the society.

As a Telugu speaking person i totally agree with Mohak. Even directors sometimes are forced to do these kinds of things because of some categories of audiences. A Telugu filmmaker always thinks that there should be everything for everyone. For eg there should be an item song, there should be a love story etc. That's the main reason for these kinds of scenes and songs in the Telugu cinema

You do not have to be afraid of saying malayalam movies are much better than Telugu movies. Also, you mentioned Arundhathi. Even in that movie there was more objectifying of the actress. The main problem is the quality of the audience. Unless their mindset changes Telugu cinema, how much money they make will always be regressive and creepy. But the actors- no, i refuse to call them actors, these are just stars. They can't act. Also, they do not have the spine to do different movies and stop chasing girls half their age. As the late great Satyajit Ray said "We have an unsophisticatd, backward audience"
Good work ! As a telugu speaking native guy I appreciate your work and you have gathered some guts to put this together publicly. The problem being into many categories 1) lack of handful of heroines hailing form the land of telugu speaking states in the years of 2000 - recent or even those who arose like Miss Anjali, Miss Eesha Rebba, Miss colours swathi, were being very few opportunities even though they speak telugu fluently. Also, certain segment of audience and majority of directors require women who can comfortably expose for the sake of dragging peoples attention into theatres. So, to do this it is an easy option to cast women from mumbai or goa or any other non telugu states who doesnot utter any word apart from andariki namaskaram. So, the role of women is very limited and and permitted only for exposing and portrayed always as dumb and being saved by a male protagonist at all times. However, these things have been in existence in bollywood since ages and commercial movies like Race3, Dostana and you name any of such always involves exposing and imposition of western attitude, so people stopped giving shit to those sort of movies made today as they lack content as you know. But, things these days are changing as people are raising these voices over the soft harassement over women and also their portrayal of barbie doll appearances.
I haven’t watched Race 3, but what’s wrong with Dostana? That movie was a big milestone of a story. Regardless of your opinion about the quality of the movie, how can you say it at least didn’t have content? Just hating on the “western imposition” for the sake of it, as if India is some paradise.
@@rainaghosh8363 Unfortunately That is the sad Truth. Most of the Telugu directors hire non telugu women mainly north indian actresses only because they wont say no to exposing unlike Telugu actresses. Many Directors openly admitted this in interviews too.
I am a Bollywood fan who has been exploring south movies lately. Malayalam cinema has one of the most intelligent and mature audience. The detailing in their cinema is top notch. Telugu and tamil cinema do objectify women telugu cinema being more prominent. The hero is everything and is celebrated but tamil cinema is making an effort and there are good women centric movies being made there which shows the audience is maturing.

I am an *Actress* . I have worked in a Telugu movie where in a scene there was a slap by the hero when the Actress (me) expressed my love for him. Also, The slap is not a slap. It's not like his palm touches my cheek. It's an act. Nobody actually got slapped. But, I completely agree with you. When I came out speaking about the toxicity of that hero ; I was removed from the posters and was not invited in my own movie premiere 🙂 I did few movies after that too. Some of them had good roles. But, the percentage of powerful roles is 0.1% I did one such project in my entire career. It made me happy and also contributed to my own self worth. It does have a cringe aspect but they pay more than Bollywood 🙂, are more professional and cleaner behind the camera. Girls do a few movies in South initially. It's a pattern since the eternity of time. Thank You For Making This Video. Much Love ❤️

Yeah I get it. Start your career with flowepot roles that South Indian directors offer ya, put yourself out there and when you're somewhat popular enough among Hindi directors, move north where you can hopefully do some actual worthwhile female roles after grinding for a while. Pretty sad that South industries still just use heroines as flowerpots.
I still don't understand how people could relate to something like Arjun Reddy. I am in a relationship for 6+ years and I can't even imagine raising my hand on my girl. The day a man hits his woman, he no longer stays a man🙏
As a Telugu girl I feel very bad and how easily they show most traumatic, harassing and abusing and toxic treatment done to women so casually. Not only this movies shape the mindset of the youth audience. I wish they were more meaningful and enlightening. Thanks for making this video
please I don't even know how Arjun Reddy has maintained a good review for this long. the movie is basically about a guy with anger issues that thinks the world revolves around him and victimizes himself in every situation. It's sort of like the movie animal and it clearly promotes "Alpha Male" or in easier words toxic masculinity. As a person from the Telugu community I feel very bad that throughout time movies are losing their moral if you compare it to a movie in the 1900 vs now you can clearly see the difference,
This problem can be generalized for all industries in India. As a telugu guy, I agree that these kind of portrayals of women are often seen in telugu cinema and I truly hate it to the core. There are many other good movies like anand and godavari which showcase women with respect, power and responsibility but sadly aren't celebrated like these star hero masala movies even by our audience. In most of the points, you took out scenes from Arjun reddy and Pushpa. Remember, Arjun reddy is not only a telugu movie but is remade in almost all major industries and everyone celebrated it as equal as us(if not more than us). Kabir singh is a huge blockbuster in Hindi circles. And everyone knows that films like Pushpa and KGF are pan India blockbusters and celebrated everywhere. This pretty much tells us about the condition of Indian audience as a whole and not just telugu audience. Bollywood has definitely evolved a lot in this aspect but all the films that you've mentioned got very little to no attention from the audience and shows that that audience as a majority has not evolved.
Raazi, gangubai, arundhati did get famous though. Not blockbuster level obviously because a vast majority of movie audience are still young men so obviously they won't since most of those men don't watch non toxic movies like these but still these movies reached unexpected level of success. Guess we are improving and if douchebag directors plan to change their sh1tty mentalities a little we can bring some more changes in our society

The thing you said about stalking is right but people of telugu industry still are watching these kind of movies. This is problem of Telugu COMMERCIAL directors, they only care about glamour, logic less fights etc
This is a great and insightful video!! Thank you so much for making it!! I’m a Telugu American girl who grew up watching these movies, and I do have a love hate relationship with these movies in general. One thing I also wanted to add is that for the longest time, these big Telugu movies have always casted lighter skinned non-Telugu women as female leads. But never Telugu women….let alone Telugu women of browner and darker skin tones. Slowly, we are seeing Telugu women have important roles in movies but it’s mostly in small budget films, which is amazing. But these women unfortunately don’t have as big as a fame as those who are in these bigger movies. Disclaimer: I’m not saying that these non-Telugu actresses are not talented. They are. It’s just this whole representation issue.
@@pablo_Esciccha the problem with some of those Tamil heroines is they lie straight through their teeth about them being Tamil even they're actually Telugu or mallus. Sai pallavi, Aishwarya Rajesh, Amala paul have been guilty of this.

One needs to break the cycle and I'm sure, we'd see a positive change in people's mindset too.
so true..
soooo soo true. manyyyyy k dramas have strong female leads which are veryyyyy inspirarional for many women
might be true for some cases but most of the popular korean dramas have very bad male and female leads tho. sure, there might not exactly be any domestic violence in them, but the relationships would be the most toxic, cringe-inducing relationships of all time. they have the same formula present in media like twilight, fifty shades of grey, after, 365 days, wattpad books, etc. that the male lead is toxic because of a traumatising past, and the female lead is a dumb, weakling who is only presented "strong" as a reason to "fix" the male lead.

Cinematic liberty should be there before making movie

They are also more palatable with international standards. Especially old movies among Bengali cinema and still today for a big part of the Malayalam film industry.
Lots of low and middle budgets, and "Author" genre movies of Hindi and Tamil industry are also very good.
But Telugu cinema industry, especially the one of these last decades (nineties to today) are, honestly, the shittiest movies of all India ! Their way of acting and dialogues are childish ! Andhra passed from Savitri to the current high-pinch crying bimbos...
@@drodro7672 I agree with you! But I also wanted to say that not every industry in Indian cinema needs to be the same. Its okay to be different and have their own identity. Much needed video for all Indians, I hope we as viewers understand the gravity of the situation and take the best decisions while subjecting ourselves and our younger audience to content. After all we are the ones with power, to change the course of history. Movies do affect us deeply, a great example is 3 idiots which made a lot of us take engineering and a lot of quit engineering and pursue of passions.
@NotAgain3108 can u elaborate more, would like to understand your point 😊
The problem with women raising their voice is they will not get work anymore. A good example is the me-too movement in India. While people like Harvey Weinstein were prosecuted by the film industry of Hollywood, no such thing happened with women who raised their voices in India. Not one case of anyone facing any meaning punishment for banishment of any kind. There is very limited scope to which the female actresses can raise their voices if they want to have a career in Indian film industry.
@@elbaecc yeah u are right, but don't you think it's better than getting exploited, i mean they are making actresses do anything in the name of career. The change will take time, but it needs unity among womens to draw the line.
@@luffyy8194 Yes I agree that women need to channelise their strength and speak out exactly when needed. But the victim in this scenario is not just the woman, but the society as well, which promotes the perpetrator’s behaviour, not just by not giving any punishment but also by advocating his behaviour and by supporting the absurd content created. So the responsibility to speak out is not just her responsibility, but everyone’s so that we build a safer world around us.
Another issue which is so relevant to discuss is the casteism and nepotism of tollywood, most of the telugu audience are cast minded and they are just supporting their actors on the basis of cast. This issue is also getting backlashed.
Are there enough videos or evidences where they said such things.. Because otherwise it would create unnecessary hate..
@@ektasingh7241 This is my personal experience when I was in Hyderabad.

If the trend continued there is a hope that our movies will turn from actor centric to really good movies and a major chunk of the budget goes to the VFX team, CGI team, story writers, dialogue writers, and other important aspects which will recirculate the money to middle class
This money will boost the purchasing power of the middle class helping businesses open new businesses which would pull foreign money contributing to the GDP of the country
This will in turn pull thousands of people out of poverty, increase the living of the middle class, boost education, research and initiate a power cycle of development

Lol what do you mean that non telugu actors are taken by directors because they can expose themselves? That is so inappropriate to say it.
Yeah the people in Kerala is so mature that's why they are eligible for ISIS factory(Pakistan terrorist organisation) 😂😂😂.
Read some newspaper, people of Kerala (sometimes delhi ) and ISIS relation.
PFI origin is Kerala.
Also know about PFI (another terror outfit) which used to create riots and Unstability in India got banned by supreme Court this year.
You are against objectifying woman and at the same time you are a bollywood fan 😂😂.
O Girl these two doesnt go hand in hand.
Bollywood is the frontline of women objectification 😂😂.
Watch their movies
bikni culture, item song and their lyrics, stalking woman even in the iconic movie DDLJ it had.
The current song " Besharam rang" Of pathan has got all the objectifying material again.

I am an *Actress* .
I have worked in a Telugu movie where in a scene there was a slap by the hero when the Actress (me) expressed my love for him.
Also,
The slap is not a slap. It's not like his palm touches my cheek. It's an act. Nobody actually got slapped. But, I completely agree with you. When I came out speaking about the toxicity of that hero ; I was removed from the posters and was not invited in my own movie premiere 🙂
I did few movies after that too.

You're actress? I see your name 1st time.
Proud of you!! You've got the public's full support.
Which movie ?
Yeah I get it. Start your career with flowepot roles that South Indian directors offer ya, put yourself out there and when you're somewhat popular enough among Hindi directors, move north where you can hopefully do some actual worthwhile female roles after grinding for a while.
Pretty sad that South industries still just use heroines as flowerpots.
Yes i also noticed it in Telugu movies and in real life boys also think same because of this movie
I still don't understand how people could relate to something like Arjun Reddy.
I am in a relationship for 6+ years and I can't even imagine raising my hand on my girl.
The day a man hits his woman, he no longer stays a man🙏
At last, someone is talking about it.

As a person from the Telugu community I feel very bad that throughout time movies are losing their moral if you compare it to a movie in the 1900 vs now you can clearly see the difference,
@10:34 I can't believe these celebrities said these things and still got away with it. Shows the culture.
3:53 Malayalam movies are any day better than Telegu films
Yep
@@sista363 Bollywood should stop leave the woke western mindset and should stop forcing western agenda..
Now does that mean women roles can't be written well...No
Raazi, gangubhai, darlings kind of movies worked bcz it has indian touch in empowerment.
And to be frank south made far better women roles which worked on BO when compared to Bollywood.
💯
@@tejas_bhat what is western agenda according to you?
@@sista363Nope. Tribalism is part of our culture. It cannot change without improving social indicators.
🤞🤞✌️✌️
Same with the tamil film industry, most of their lead actresses are from kerala or other states.
@@pablo_Esciccha the problem with some of those Tamil heroines is they lie straight through their teeth about them being Tamil even they're actually Telugu or mallus.
Sai pallavi, Aishwarya Rajesh, Amala paul have been guilty of this.
I like how you talked about Sekhar Kammula films. I recently watched Godavari and I was pleasantly surprised by the depiction of a middle class girl in Tollywood.
And yeah, one thing more that if you have good taste in films, you will discover gems in Telugu film industry as well.
As well is the wrong word to use ...
They are nearly 10 good movies with very good women roles in last 5-6 yrs itself.
This video is nothing but a agenda by as usually taking Arjun Reddy and Puri Jagannath (in last 10 movies only 2 r hit of which one is temper(simbha))
And they took a old director raghavendra Rao but conveniently ignored Dasari Narayan Rao who wrote good women centric characters in 90s and the legendary vishwanath garu who made women centric movies in 80s itself...
But he highlighted only the things which fits his agenda.
