YZ250FX is a great bike - love the KYB suspension and 6-speed transmission. Looking forward to the '23 YZ450F updates trickling down to the YZ250F series.
Great to see that kind of back to back riding !! Have you checked laptimes between the Yamaha 450 and 250 ? Watching the onboard footage you look so confident on the 250…
Glad you like the channel! Lap times can be tricky to get when there are other riders on the track. The '22 YZ250F is an easy bike to ride with broad linear power and plush suspension - easy to understand why the bike is so popular. I am hoping for an all new 2024 YZ250F with similar chassis/ergo updates from the 2023 YZ450F.
@@mxengineer1 yes of course, laptimes are often changing because the traffic on tracks. But I liked it when you did it in your video with the yzf 250 and the sxf 250 (even when it is not as accurate as a Litpro or somebody taking your laptimes). That means you definitely prefer the ergos of the new 2023 yzf 450 over the 250.. that‘s great to hear. So I wait for your back to back video „yzf 250‘22 and yzf 250‘24“ before I chose my next bike 😉. Keep videos like that coming. Love your (not brand sponsored) Feedback of the bikes.
If you could have only one, through your gp woods loop, would you prefer the 450 or 250? Any times ever done in there? I’m 250 2T guy but heavily thinking about the 450 due to the tuner to pull it back if needed rather just the slightly more nimble 250
I've done a lot of GP/Woods loop back to back comparisons! My current favorites are the 300 2-stroke and 350 4-stroke. I even tune back my 21 KTM 350XCF for the woods loop. 450F's are a lot of bike to wrestle around in the woods. 300 smoker/350 thumper are great in the GP/Woods (ie GNCC style) loops... ua-cam.com/video/VrHTV_zKmsQ/v-deo.html My 23.5 KTM 450 Factory Edition is perhaps the easiest to ride 450 engine - 60 hp has never felt so smooth... ua-cam.com/video/SH_dYCBbD1Y/v-deo.html Nice to have choices!
I really wanna get a 450 but I’m not sure if I will be scared of the power, I had a 19 YZ250F which was unbelievable but I just wanted more power but it never stepped out. Really unsure I’m slightly slower then you
I have done a lot of back to back rides on 250/450F's....typically the 450F has so much more inertia and weight feeling (even if there is only 3~4 lbs difference). This 22 YZ250F vs 23 YZ450F is least increase in weight/inertia feel I have noticed between a 250 and 450F back to back ride. You might be surprised how agile and "fun to ride" and "feels like a powerful 350F" the 23 YZ450F feels in motion, especially if you liked the 2019 YZ250F. Hope you get to spin a few laps on a '23 YZ450F and let me know what you think. Also you can dial back the YZ450F with the app... ua-cam.com/video/-Bsk-3UoEHo/v-deo.html
Should I be deterred to go with a 23 yz450f? I’m a 2t woods guy on a 250XC TBI but want to get a dedicated track bike. I’m a 40 year old C rider and 165lbs. Just can’t decide and there’s no way I can demo them all like you have. What would you recommend?
250F's are a such an easy to ride and versatile for moto and trails. That would be the easy choice. '23 YZ450F is very responsive to throttle and chassis inputs - a little too responsive for many riders. My favorite combination of Power/Weight/Handling in a 4-stroke is a 350...perhaps a KTM 350 would be a nice addition and uses many of the same chassis parts.
@@cuddleman KTM is a great balance of cornering and stability with very easy to ride smooth power. The Yamaha has 2-stroke like quick revving and free feeling engine with a light low inertia feeling in motion (12 lbs of fuel under the seat)....I find the 23 YZ450F a more unique and fun to ride 450.

250's need the throttle twisted to have any fun, 450's you can just ride and not at breakneck speed. I weight just over 200 lbs, 250 can barely get up a hill with me, wish Yamaha would just make a 350!!
Wish we had tracks like this Florida, all our tracks are full send
We have some fun tracks in Ohio but your tracks in Florida are rideable all winter!
I’ve got a 23 250FX. Pretty good trail bike for Idaho mountains
