    Like the simplicity of simply using what you have and getting out there and enjoying. In Boy Scouts we'd camp with a backpack worth of gear and have a great time. Sleeping in a truck seems to be a luxury, right! I have a Gazelle T4 Plus tent that gives me a quick setup two room living area, but sleep in my Dodge 2500 Crew Cab if I want more protection from elements. Simply start truck and run air/heat for a few minutes, instead of lugging around generators, heaters, AC, etc.... But the point is, just get out there and camp!

      Absolutely! I agree 100% it’s definitely the convenience sake being able to just hop in drive wherever rain or shine and climb in the backseat and be able to sleep. I also enjoy having my tablet bracket so at night or if it’s raining I can just kick back and enjoy a movie👍🏻 I will also crack a window at times and cook a easy meal right in the truck. Did it plenty this winter when it was crazy cold out.

    They make inflatable beds made specifically for the back seat of a truck and would greatly improve your comfort

    I have slept comfortably in the back seat of my truck a couple of times. It was only for a few hours in between the two jobs I used to have. One time, it was snowing and after dark. I slept with my keys in my hand and remote started about 10 mins before getting up so the cab was warm.
    I had a 2009 F150 extended cab, so the back seat was a tad smaller than a full bench.

      Thats awesome man!🤟🏻That’s why I love the convenience of just being able to hop in my backseat for a night of camping. Especially if it’s raining or snowing and not having to worry about setting up a tent. I also do the same thing remote start my truck to get some heat moving👍🏻 My truck is a double cab so quite a bit smaller than the crew cab but it works quite well for me!😁

    Cool video. it would be very hard to be comfortable like that. Recently I had to spend the night in my truck do the the spot my tent was in being flooded. Rained so hard for so long water was penetrating the canvas then started to come in through the bottom of the door. Had to make a run for the truck. That night sucked. I had been thinking about trying to sleep in the back seat in some way for overnighters and weekends but learned that night its not gonna happen.

      Thank you for the kind words!❤️ I honestly sleep quite comfortable in the backseat of my truck! I have a couple layers of blankets under my sleeping bag that definitely help with padding. I also have custom Coverking seat covers that also add extra comfort. It’s never fun tent camping and water starts to pool in the tent…I have had so much water under my tent before it was like walking on a water bed! That makes for a rough trip! This way I don’t have to worry about setting up a tent or worry about getting wet! I greatly appreciate you leaving a comment and thanks for watching!🙏🏻❤️

    I’m going to the Little League World Series next week. Hotel rooms are booked or running at $300 per night. I’m only 5’6” so I’m thinking I can sleep in the cab of my truck (same truck as you). Definitely taking a battery powered fan like you have.

    Looks really cool! I can say from experience that sleeping in the backseat is not the most comfortable for me unfortunately. Even with my crew cab 2500HD, it’s quite cramped and difficult to stretch out. If if works for you that’s great I’d just prefer something more spacious like my 6’6 bed. Also a full cab set of privacy/sun blocking window covers is a great addition, very cool setup either way 👍.

      Thank you! I appreciate it! And luckily I’m just short enough where most of the time I’m quite comfortable! A truck bed setup would also be nice though. I Appreciate you watching!😁

      Truck bed is great@@wesventures6426.Spent plenty of nights under a shell.
      *I can't see how you're sleeping well like that though.* I don't know what your situation with passengers is, but for me on a long trip in that? I pull the front seat & build a platform across the back & front passenger area. you could def pull the back too, but if you need passenger capacity, best to leave the seat behind the driver & make that part of the platform hinged or removable.
      This should let you stretch out fully on hypotenuse of the triangle created. Let's see 6' x 4.5' maybe? 36 + ~20 = 56, square root not quite 8' so that gives you some wiggle (literally) around the center console. Probably 6'6" worth of fully stretchoutable room. More for a side sleeper.
      This works in almost any car btw 8) You get 7' in a yaris!

      I got a F150 2014, it's like as if they were thinking about my size when they made this truck because I fit it just like a glove.
      Ended up folding up the rear seats and putting some plywood with a simple 2x4 setup for support, some pool chair cushions, a sleeping bag and voila!
      All I could do in this lifetime is wish I was 6'0, and thought about how I could recreate this set up if I was.
      I would end up making some kind of lightweight but firm 2 piece or 1 piece platform (either from some kind of dry pine wood or plastic coated cushions) to go from the edge of my dashboard center (where the radio and a/c controls are) to run through the center console, through the rear seat and to finish level with the top of the rear set head rest base (where the bottom of the rear window "sits'). Which in my case could be available for further length addition since I put in a rear center sliding window.
      In other words, a platform that stretches from dashboard edge to rear window edge LEVEL. That way I would be able to stretch FULLY and sleep PROPERLY. People complain that they NEED to toss an turn when they sleep, but when you are truly tired and NEED TRUE REST, the body doesn't care so much about width, but rather length. So with this setup, I would be able to get that length in by probably putting my head on the dash side, and the feet on the rear window side.
      edit: added rear seats.

    • @theminister1154
      @theminister1154 6 місяців тому +1

      There's also across the center console triangularly@@MR-backup. That will give you more headroom & enough stretchout for about 5"10-6' in a small pickup, which as an avid car camper I can tell you you'll want.
      Filing away your idea though!

    • @MR-backup
      @MR-backup 6 місяців тому +1

      @@theminister1154 I thought about your idea too, but only if I ended up having company, because that diagonal angle approach would give you the length and them some for width.
      My rough idea is for a one body setup, unless we are talking about some very "lightweight" body types,
      You can have it; I'm literally cringing over here watching 6'0 wes, cram himself in the rear like that!

    Did you buy the reflectix as a kit, or did you need to buy a roll and cut it out? Also what kind of adhesive do you use for the reflectix?

    • @wesventures6426
      @wesventures6426  6 місяців тому +1

      I ended up getting it at a Menards near me. Like 20$ for 25ish ft I believe. I ended up cutting them out to form my windows and left them a little big and honestly when I push them in around my windows they seem to stay pretty well. The only window I have a little Velcro is on the back because it’s long enough it kinda wants to curl up so that seems to do the trick perfectly! Definitely worth the money when it comes to privacy and holding in some heat!🤟🏻

    do you have a way to let some fresh air in overnight without the skeeters getting in?

    • @wesventures6426
      @wesventures6426  2 місяці тому +1

      Currently I do not. I normally just run a few small fans above my head that I clip to my bracket. I’d like to make some sort of screen windows that I can pop into place or get some sort of mesh. I haven’t decided exactly how I want to do it yet but I’ve definitely thought about it many times! I greatly appreciate you leaving a comment and thanks for watching!🙏🏻❤️

      I have many times but I also have a lot of plans for this summer which involves my 4 wheeler and kayak and I load them into my box and I’d hate to get one and have to take it off every time I plan to put something else in the box ya know…I also hunt and fish quite often so that’s normally where my game goes.
