    I have a ‘17 P500 and love it. I put a toolbox that goes on the side of a pickup truck bed directly behind the seat and a Strongmade basket behind that. Works great. But I really like that they finally put a bed on the 500 (520). Like others have said, the 24 inch factory tires are useless for most real world applications. I put 27s on mine and it is perfect. I’ve heard no mention of a front locker, but that would make the machine a mega seller.

    I always admired the 500 on the sales floor as they appeared to be one of the easiest SxS to get in and out of for older generations. If the same holds true with the 520 along with the "refinements" it might be time to bring one home to the farm.

    I have a 2018 Pioneer 500 and I really like it. The changes I'd like to see though is power steer and a more forgiving suspension system. The power steering would be the most important thing I'd like to see as an option from Honda though. I bought it for tight trail riding and without power steering it was a Dog to turn and maneuver in tight places. I said "was" because I added an after market power steering unit to mine and it's much more enjoyable to ride now. I also put 28" AT Radial tires on it so without the power steering it was super hard to turn, I couldn't even steer it with just one hand. The power steering was by far the best upgrade I've made to it.
    A better suspension system would also be nice. This thing will bonce you all over the place if you go fast. I mostly enjoy the creep around slow exploring rides so it hasn't been that bad for me. However I when crossing a field or I'm on a dirt road with wind bumps and I'm running 25 - 30 mph it would be nice to have a smoother ride. I know the pioneer 500 was primarily designed to be used a utility unit but come on, it should be a smoother than the way tractor rides. I know Honda can engineer a softer suspension system than it has now.
    I do like the new dump bed with the P520. I wonder if they will bolt on the P500?

      @Ross Outdoors He has done things to his p5 because he WANTED to do those things not because he was advertising for Honda. He also was not joking since he included the amount of people he got to buy one. I like the guy and his channel and I am sure that someone at Honda has taken notice of the awesome things he has done to his P5 but to outright ask for one because of what he has done and shared on social media is being self entitled. That would be like me asking Harley Davidson for a free bike since I have owned and rode them for 30 yrs and built and modified them. One shouldn't expect something in return for doing something they enjoy... This is what's wrong with this country...everybody thinks they are entitled

    I placed our order for a Honda 520 Pioneer at our local dealership the last week in January (2021). No idea when it will get here. My 13 year old daughter wanted a new horse..... we talked her into a new 520 instead!!!
    We still have 1987 250X’s and 300 four wheel drive’s, (plus 400EX, 420 Rancher, 500 Forman, 650 Rincon, CRF 50....) can’t beat honda quality and longevity!!!!

    I own a 20 model p5. I've never been in a situation where a diff lock was needed. I don't mud bog mine, so that may be the reason. I use it in the woods, hills and mountains of Arkansas. Not once did I think, "man I wish this thing had a locker."....storage yes, locker no

    I find it hard to believe that the majority of your feedback did not include one thing. It is mentioned in every youtube review. Front diff locker! Not sure how you missed that. More ground clearance would be nice but we can add tires easier than the torque locker 3rd party option and they have to be replaced anyway.

    Put the 700 engine in this frame. Add 8 more inches of ground clearance, power steering and front diff. Plus add fully enclosed cab with heat and air conditioning. Then I think you’ll have something more useful in my opinion.

    There is literally nothing I do not like about the pioneer line up. Capability leads to success. This machine looks like it can handle any chore. Im still running an 83 suzuki LT125 as my daily. Ive caught alot of flak for not getting with the times, as its 2020. This machine may......may bring me into the current world😄

    I have a 2022 pioneer 520 and love it, but I have had to have the exhaust replaced 3 times under warranty due to the welds on the heat shield breaking and causing it to rattle loudly. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Just tried a brand new p500, ok except for hellish transmission gear lash noise driving along road on light throttle, fine pulling hard or completely off throttle. First p500 at dealer who checked diff and gearbox oil levels that were ok. Is Honda's engineering slipping or is there a fault. Think I'll keep my 420 until this is sorted.

    My efforts to dump my P500 just got kicked into overdrive seeing this.. it served my needs, but I found it more advantageous to build a bigger garage and widen my trails as opposed to keeping this reliable, yet inferior machine. Served my needs, but time to upgrade

    You guys to need to make a talon that come factory with a turbo instead of the aftermarket one. This would help sales a lot and it would compete with the razor turbos and X3’s but it would be better.

    No locker no sale. I wished my 01 Rubicon had a locker for plowing snow & for the times I wished I had it. I could get the newer one with all the money I’ve been saving but it’s hard to when it’s still running strong & I’m saving for a 2 person 50” to make street legal to run around town. Also I don’t have to drive back where I unloaded. Looks like I’m shopping else where.
    Don’t tell me that this new P520 still doesn’t have a glovebox in the dash.

    So you added the slightly bigger engine which is harder on fuel and you put a cool dumpbox on it but if you put a cab on you have to open the door to dump it. Still has the same suspension and interior. Was really hoping for a wide body sport model 500 with actual doors. Well hope you guys bring back the Rincon and put the pioneer 1000 engine in it, that will get some radical sales.

      A wide body sport 500? No. The suspension geometry on a 50" wide machine lacks refinement, decent travel, and real ground clearance (that a sport machine needs)

    Ordered this sxs March 26 2021 from dealer in NH , was told it would be here by July, it's now March 2022 and when I check with the dealership they say NO WORD FROM JAPAN, don't they build these in the Carolinas somewhere?????

    I just bought a 2022 Honda Pioneer 520 2 things could be better 1st is it shifts in 5th gear to soon and 2nd would be tilt steering. Other than that I really like it.

      I'll never get rid of my P1k. My upper doors are on for 3-3.5mo. Rest of the time the windshield and soft rear panel is all it needs. Never understood a hard cab, or the ridiculous price.

    This thing looks like a bare bones farm implement compared to things like the Maverick Trail or even the old Wildcat Trail. Great around the farm, but last choice for exploring trails.

      These machines are really a blast on the trails due to the 5 speed manual trans with the paddle shifters, and the way the cage protects the plastics makes it even more fun cuz you aren't worrying about busting stuff every time you get up against something. My disappointment with it, is that Honda could make it so much more, and just won't.

      No, it's geared very low to begin with, and really doesn't have enough power to pull much taller gears. It's geared low enough to just about tear itself apart if it didn't break traction.

      No thanks. No reason to add strain to dct, suspension components, extra weight, and unnecessary added height. Running wooded trails 75%+ of the time. Roof is tall, and swapping out stock shocks w/ Fox gained me .75" ground clearance. Maybe 29" Carnivores with front 1.5" offset a-arms, & that's a maybe

    Honda please come out with a street legal type SXS for the places that allows them. Where I live I can modify & get them licensed but not allowed on the Interstate, that’s fine by me. I just want it to drive around town & take it in the mountains without needing to put it on a trailer. Plus I’ll need something to tow the trailer with & that adds up in price. Want it like a Jeep that has built in AC & Heater with a cab that you can remove the doors like the Jeep. I’ve seen the Rebel type vehicles & the engine is in the back not allowing enough room for cargo. Didn’t like the Mahindra type Jeep either. Also want places to add a gun rack & fishing poles. Great to take camping & be able to tow a small trailer, even be able to use it around the yard.

    How about a good tilt up windshield that actually seals around the roll cage for the Pioneer family. Love my Pioneer 1000 but you guys are about 20 years behind on accessories and add ons. Heater is a joke. No storage. Cup holder will only fit a 12 oz can. No gun holders. I could go on but my point is, get it together. You are loosing alot of sales to Polaris and Can Am due to accessories sucking.

    Still wish it came with power steering. And diff lock. And it still needs more suspension. I’m not being critical of it because i have the 500 and i like it but I also have a 2020 honda foreman rubicon and it rides so much better has power steering and diff lock.

    The 520 is great keep the 50 in. Model going but fix the damn transmission!!! Still sucks and shifts hard into gear really need to work on that and add a dead pedal for the driver side and maybe a small glove box with a charging port inside of it for a phone.

    Oh god guys stop whining about what this machine doesn’t come with. Its cheap for a reason. It doesn’t come with a diff lock because its not really meant for 8 ft deep mud, if you want a diff lock open your wallet for the higher price and tiered machines or spend 400$ and get the kit to do it your self. #2 power steering = money... again the price point is low so this machine doesnt have it. So companies also make a kit for that too.... like if you want a 15,000$ rig to rock climb and go through 10
    FT of mud holes go buy that machine thats meant for it not the 8,000$ farm hand trail rig.

    The bottom line is Honda ATV's and SXS's don't produce enough power. Honda has always been very conservative in respect to engine power. I've owned Honda vehicles, outboard motors, ATV's and SXS's. In recent years everything has been sold and I've moved on to other brands, although I still own my Pioneer 700-4. My Pioneer is very reliable but doesn't produce enough power. I'm looking at the Yamaha Wolverine 850 twin to replace my Pioneer. Wolverine 70hp vs the Pioneers .......36hp. Honda sure isn't the company they use to be. WOW, 500 Pioneer to a 520. Gee, I hope you can handle added power from a 20cc increase. Sorry, Honda, I'm done. Time to move on.

    Im sure this thing will be fairly reliable but it looks like it was pieced together with random side-by-side parts. lol

      You can buy a torque locker and plus it’s meant for farm work not trail riding

    Still no locking front diff. But- More power= 1.3 h.p. wow! I know I'm excited- not. Still no suspension. Still no power steering. I have a 2016 P-500. After adding all the parts that should at least be available as options on the 500/520 it's not such a bargain anymore. These machines are tough as tanks, and dependable as a Toyota Corolla, but I'm really disappointed that Honda refuses to step up in the 50" class machines. I'm now a Yamaha customer. Sure will miss that manual gear box!

The closest is the Wolverine X2- not sure about the 2021 model, but the earlier ones were supposed to be 59", but even that machine looks gigantic beside a P-500. My riding situation has changed since I got my P-500, and am about to put a deposit on a 2021 Yamaha RMAX-1000. Keeping my P-500 though. There are chinese machines, but I refuse to support china in any respect, wherever possible. Particularly when it comes to toys, and for most of us, SxS's are toys.

      @Ross Outdoors My point is this: I have, and virtually every P-500 owner that rides trails more often than the farm yard, has wanted a more powerful, more trail oriented 50" Honda with an actual manual trans. & locking front diff. power steering etc. even as options, since they started building them in 2014. I don't think anyone with any sense, would expect the machine to be the same price. Thus the reason I've been forced by Honda to go to another manufacturer for my next machine. So, as you were kind enough to clarify for me, and anyone else hoping that Honda was finally going to step up for existing customers- if you want to just buy a machine with any of the things I mentioned in a small machine- it can't be a Honda. I love my P-500, but had to spend $1000's to make it safer, capable, and comfortable enough to actually spend a whole day on mountain trails.

      That's why you buy a P700 for $9200. Hell, I bought a base model P1000-3 w/ half windshield & roof for $10.7k
